Grand Palladium Vallarta: Mostly great... except the deprived captive animals

Overall it was a great trip. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful - and there's a lot of them so the vast majority were warm and welcoming. The place was clean and the food was pretty good. I was irritated with some of the hostess' attitudes (e.g. at Portofino) and one in the Viva Mexico restaurant speaking about my dress in Spanish not knowing that I too speak Spanish (although one gentleman later came and apologized to me, and my server Roberto was excellent). I was disapp [... read more]ointed that my daughter's tiny, size 7 toddler, hard to replace flip flops were stolen from our room leaving her with only runners half of our stay. I also heard that a smaller amount of money was taken out of my friend's wallet while it was being cleaned. I feel as though if I complained I would have reimbursed me for them but I didn't feel like having the awkward, negative conversation while debating if someone steals shoes because they're paid poorly (I don't know how well staff are/aren't paid) is it still wrong? I didn't need that on my conscience on vacation. The "zoo" however is unconscionable. Two monkeys are cooped up in a small cage containing one tree with no branches Spider monkeys travel between 1 to 3km daily with a group of 10 to 30 family members. The ostrich looks unwell, like it's been pulling out its own feathers. It was awful to see.

Grand Palladium Palace: Friendly staff and very clean

The grounds are in immaculate condition. The rooms are spotless they are so clean. I wouldn't call them an "upgraded room though" there were some holes in the ceiling and one nite a vent fell from the air conditioning unit. Some of the marble around the outside wall of the tub enclosure was damaged. The food in the buffet area wasn't always hot. I would recommend a guide on the tv converters in the rooms.

Grand Palladium Palace: Grand Palladium Palace- wonderful hotel

The hotel is beautiful. The grounds keepers maintained everything exceptioning well. Very pretty to the eye! Bavaria beach is awesome. We walked on the beach for miles. The sand is fine and white. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The Dominicans were very accommodating and friendly. They all aimed to please. This was our fourth time to this same resort and was not disappointed!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: My favorite all inclusive resort to date

This was our 4th visit to the Grand Palladium on the Mayan Riviera.....3rd stay on the Kantenah side. The grounds are huge and well kept with extensive walkways throughout the property.... We really enjoy being able to walk for kilometres through all the natural vegetation.... Mangrove swamps and "jungle" and there no shortage of wheels to get you from A to B if you don't like to walk. The pools are amazing as is the beach. You can walk for about a 2km stretch along the white sandy beach. Y [... read more]ou can snorkel, kyak, windsurf etc. The entertainment staff always have activities planned - rain or sunshine and besides a nightly show there is live music and fun themed party nights. There are so many choices of excellent restaurants..... ( no reservations required) and lots of bars, so no excuse to ever have an empty glass. The staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to help you and to make your vacation a memorable one....a big thank you to the entire Palladium team. This trip I'd like to make special mention of Jonathan who manned one of the nightly liquor tasting tables near the colonial lobby who made us some wonderful drinks and entertained us with his tricks and singing and had us stopping by every night to try something new. I think this resort is a great place for anyone.... couples, family, groups, weddings.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Fourth Time at this great place

The preservation of natural areas with boardwalks passing through is wonderful. The water moats around the restaurant are gorgeous. The food is great. I love the no reservation needed policy for the restaurants. The beach is beautiful. The staff are outstanding.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: GP Vallarta

We recently stayed at the Grand Palladium Vallarta. The facilities are lovely. It is a bit removed from PV, maybe 3/4 hour drive from the airport. If you want to do anything or go anywhere, it's a taxi or bus ride. We especially enjoyed the adult pool, and the Beach. We also liked the quietness of the salt water pool. The lunches, that we participated in, put on at the beach daily, were wonderful. not the same old cold burger and fries. The Zentropia spa is very lovely. truly enjoyed my [... read more] massage from Alma. The one thing I didn't understand, was why people were made to line up at the buffet doors, had to give room numbers. then when we got to the buffet, it's not like they were full. The Buffet food was good. Not really crazy about booking through an app for a la carts. when were first told this, I thought it was a great idea, no standing in line everyday at a concierge to book your restaurants! But in fact it was a bit more cumbersome. You don't book for THIS evening, you are actually booking 24hrs ahead. so we missed out on a few a la carts because of this misunderstanding. With this said, there is wifi everywhere, which is nice. I was also slightly disappointed with the balconies. very very small. we had an ocean view room, but 2 people on the balcony was very tight. The staff were all very friendly and very accommodating, really a pleasure. one more thing, the check in process seemed so long, and they had plenty of staff on to accommodate the bus load of people, but it seemed to take longer than it needed to. A turn off was the sales push to buy into their travel club. All in all though, a nice resort.

Grand Palladium Palace: Hard to get service

Language barrier was a huge issue throughout the whole stay. Went for a friends wedding. There wasn't enough chairs at the reception. At the restaurant after the wedding there wasn't enough chairs as well. Very hard to communicate due to very little English of the staff to get anything fixed. It was hard to get a coffee in the morning at breakfast. When the rooms were cleaned it really varied for what they restocked you with. One day they refilled the facecloths, the next they would replace the  [... read more]bath towels, but they would take away all of the dirty linen so you would be left without face towels until whenever they decided to put them in your room next. Knowing French will help you at this location as you get further with French then with English.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Beautiful Resort

This resort was a little overwhelming at first but once you figured everything out it was easy. There are a lot of stairs and lots of uphill walking so would not be good for people with mobility issues. The resort itself is beautiful & well maintained. There are 3 pools within the resort. The beach is actually very nice. If you go close to the vendors the sand is a lot better. The food was absolutely amazing. There is lots to do at this resort so you will never be bored. All in all this was a wonderful vacation & we can’t wait to go back.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Wonderfull resort set in a mangrove forest.

Grand Palladium Kantenah is one of three Grand Palladium hotels all within walking distance from each other with access to all three at all times. They share 9 great restaurants plus a few buffets. I would consider the buffet to be very standard and most of the restaurants were very good. Staff always friendly and helpful. The thing we loved most about this resort is that there are no highrise hotels. All rooms are in 3 storey villas spread out in a gorgeous mangrove forest. We were there in early January and did not see any insects or bugs which surprised me considering we were in a forest. There is approximately 2.5 kms of beach that you can walk in front of the resort. Mostly beautiful sand with a few areas with some rocks. The resort was very clean and our bed was comfortable. I would not recommend this resort for anyone with mobility issues as there is a lot of walking to do. They do offer transportation via golf carts/trains but we found these to be inconvenient and prefer walking.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great times

Great resort, lots of choice for food, all excellent. Good service at the adult pool, which is where we spent most of our time. All the staff are friendly and this made for a great holiday. Our fourth time here and will be back.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Fantastic resort

Food great, beach great, entertainment great!!! Best time!!! The ppl were wonderful !!! The resort was extemly clean and premium booze!!! Loved it, rooms were good but wish they were bigger ... not enough room for 7 days

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Great location and facilities, but unfortunate mishaps caused issues

Beautiful location and facilities, and most service was excellent. Bad experience on check-in with upselling of rooms that were not as promised. Then a dangerous (electrified) hot tub in the room that was never fixed (and kept us waiting on maintenance for hours. Buffet meals were passable, but the a la carte dinner restaurants were mostly just plain disappointing. Overall, 95% of our time there was really good, but the 5% that was bad was key and really frustrating so damaged our enjoymen [... read more]t of the whole trip.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Good Resort lots of variety

All in all a very nice resort with very friendly and helpful staff. The buffets and a la carte restaurants are very good with lots of selection. The rooms, pools and beaches are all clean and well maintained. The only negative is the constant solicitation from vendors and sales people for souvenirs, photos, excursions, cigars, presentations, etc. Some won't take NO for an answer. However vacation was enjoyable and would consider going back here again

TRS Turquesa: Superb Amenities, Many Helpful Staff but...

Excellent facilities (gym, spa, restaurants, bars, rooms, etc.), very clean, excellent food. This was our 2nd visit and 4th to a Palladium chain. The majority of staff were friendly and very responsive. Reception staff in the RST lobby however were quite impersonal... little eye contact, appeared to have some difficulty understanding English and provided minimal information in response to questions. Upon arrival we were greeted with cold, wet towels and reception staff who treated us as numbers  [... read more]rather than guests. This was different than our first visit when we truly felt welcomed as part of the RST family. Also, for both visits, menu service in the Royal Suites dining room was extremely slow and in this case, the food was cold. Great value for the price... but room for improvement!

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great resort!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Palladium Vallarta: beautiful grounds/beach, comfortable/spacious room, excellent food (prime rib every night at the buffet), and very good service (most of the time). Humpback whales breached on numerous occasions just off shore. We also enjoyed several entertaining shows at the theatre.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Fair Resort

Where do we begin as there were many things that we did not expect! We will list our not so good experiences in point form below: · Cleanliness of our honey moon villa lagged…. The debris that was under our bed when we arrived was still there when we left. The cleaning of our sinks was often overlooked and we are not sure if the outdoor shower was actually cleaned during our stay. · International restaurants did not serve authentic international food. Restaurants are run [... read more] by local people who try to cook international cuisines – the outcome is far from what we know and expected. · Water bottles were only available in our villa or at the front desk. We were able to get water bottles at the front desk the first week but during our second week of our stay we were told by the desk staff that they did not have any water……. we were stunt to receive such replies, simply unbelievable!!!!! · Red wine options was a real let-down – the red wine offered was made in Spain and only Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were available. The Merlot tasted like vinegar and quite often restaurants ran out of the Cabernet Sauvignon. We feel that this is just not acceptable as this is an all-inclusive vacation and we paid plenty of dollars to enjoy our vacation. · The buffet food offered at the main restaurant lagged creativity – it appeared they took the approach of ‘feeding the herd’. Chickens and meat with bones were hacked with a cleaver and hidden in all kinds of sauces, mainly dark sauces – not very appealing to the eye. We ordered a shrimp wonton soup at the Asian restaurant and the shrimps were not covered in dough. When we were finished with our meal, we were told that they had run out of flower to make a shrimp wonton soup… · Fresh fruit selection was limited, water melon, pineapple, papaya were the main fruits and when bananas were available most of the time they were soft and mushy. Sad, considering we were in a tropical island…… Furthermore, the upkeep of the resort lagged attention to detail. The fountain and water bed at the main entrance at Lady Hamilton was not working and debris and diapers were floating in the water bed. The walls surrounding the water fountains and water bed were gray and tiles/stucco were damaged. The large outdoor roll-down drapes were either ripped or hung crooked and were also very dirty. The overall upkeep of the grounds in the resort lagged was not very good. We hope that our review will be put forward to the Spanish and Italian owners of this resort and hope that more attention to detail will be exercised as well as an improvement to offering international cuisine that actually tastes and looks like international cuisine. Grand Palladium Colonial: Great resort, lots to do for the kids

Great resort. Lots to do for the kids. the sports park is great in the evenings before dinner always a few soccer games going on which the kids could take part in. this was our 3rd time at the resort and the resort has definitely upgraded the quality of their shows in the evenings. They were well publicized and definitely top notch. I wish they had a few additional ping pong tables around the pool. these seem to be popular with everyone and lineup are rather long. additionally for the a-l [... read more]a-carte's they need to do something about the time it takes. We went the Mexican and Italian restaurants and both were 90 minute wait's even though it seemed as though the place was empty.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Excellent family resort

We travelled to this resort for seven days around New Years 2018. It was our second visit to this resort. Check in was efficient and friendly. Our room, a junior suite, clean and well furnished and maintained. The rooms are sized big enough to store all of our luggage and still move freely. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a good shower. Grounds were well maintained. Food at the buffets was very good. We tried a couple of the a la cartes, and they were a bit "h [... read more]it and miss" as the waits were long and probably not worth the wait, although the food quality and service was very good. We used mostly the main pool at the Coloniel and it is very nice. Service at the swim up bar was excellent. There were a lot of activities going on around the pool which would satisfy most age groups. Bars serve Dos Equis beer, which is decent. Liquor was of decent quality, and bar staff was always fun and friendly. The beach isn't fantastic for swimming, but is a nice area for lounging. The resort also has a sizable "sports area" with soccer fields, volleyball, tennis and basketball, amongst other sports. The evenings usually featured an international pickup soccer game which became a highlight for my teenaged son. Nightlife is probably lacking as the resort is some ways from the clubs in Playa, and not much is going on at night, but for families this may not be an issue. If you are going to party, this probably isn't the resort for you. Location is quite a way from Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Good that the resort is somewhat isolated, but about 1 hour drive from the Cancun airport and about a 20 minute shuttle from Playa. Overall, the resort is well maintained, with nice rooms, good food and service and nice pool. Beach and "nightlife" were negatives.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Fantastic

Had a great time - paddle boarding, surfing, sailing, kayaking, beautiful paths, amazing shows, and dancing the night away, this place has it all. Food is great, the place is beautiful. Everyone was absolutely great - special mention to Carlos Yamazaki for being awesome all around and making the vacation memorable, Victor for making sure I had fun in the sun and the sea, Jesus for getting the party started, and Pepe for a great manicure. Housekeeping needs improvement- no clean towels for 2 days!! they eventually showed up but I was forced to complain. Overall all 3 of us had a blast even though we were all doing different things, and with all the exercise and stuff going on, we even lost a bit of weight, even with all the great food.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great resort!

This place is very grand, and very large! We did a lot of walking from on end of the resort to the other, preferring to walk rather than wait for shuttles. The food and drink were fine as well, and our room bar was restocked daily with drinks. We saw no snacks in our room, but did not need any. The beds were comfy, bathrooms very large and quiet for the most part - the tree frogs were loud when we were there just before Christmas 2017.
