Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Great for the Family

Just got back from a week at La Esmeralda with family & friends. The resort has a nice modern look but still feels like home. Rooms are very nice and kept very clean. The food was amazing, never ate at the same place twice. The beach is nice & clean and its close to a natural fresh water spring which the kids had fun playing in. My only complaint is the temperature of the pools. You shouldn't have to upgrade to family concierge to be able to enjoy the heated pool.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Large but amazing resort

The best part about this resort was the food, the a la carte restaurant amazing food and service. Grounds were very nice and well kept. Room was older looking but very clean. I would definatly recommend 😊

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Melia Nassau Beach Resort not worth the money

Visited from Jan 4 to Jan 11, 2018. Humongous hotel was almost empty as we found out later. At the reception they announced that they were giving me Free upgrade with the pool view on the second floor. When I checked in the room I was disturbed by loud noise from across the hall. Sounded like heavy machinery used by construction workers. I thought it was temporary, some kind of renovation. But few hours later the noise was still there. The cleaning lady said the construction work should stop aft [... read more]er 4 pm, but it did not. I could not believe they gave me a room in that zone and called it an upgrade. I went to the reception and complained. They gave a room in the opposite end of the hotel where was very quiet (same view at the pool). The coffee maker in the room was broken and dirty. I asked for replacement twice, but it did not come until I run into hotel manager and mentioned it. The last two days we had strong winds which filled our room with loud noise that was coming from the balcony because the sliding doors were too loose. I noticed that there was paper jammed between the rails of the door and realized that it was done to reduce the noise. I squeezed more paper to fix the door and it worked. There were only two restaurants indoors that were open. Awful service and food. In Silantro restaurant the neighbouring table had dirty plates all the time we were there. No one bothered to clean it up. I lost appetite, it was so disgusting. Buffet menu was the same every day. Same meat, same vegetables, same salads. Dessert was grocery store level. Hot tub was so dirty you would not want to wet your feet there. Entertainment was so so. You have a feeling that hotel is on the verge of going out of business. I stayed in resorts in Mexico and DR many times and wanted to try something different this time. Trust me, you would get ten times better service and food for the same money in those counties.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: Short & Sweet Review

Our week-long stay was too short; our overall experience was ultra sweet! Food was always excellent and varied in the Reserve buffet; reservation-only restaurants ranged from great (Vento,Bana) to average (Mole, Aqua); the grounds are SPECTACULAR; the staff super-friendly and extremely accommodating and happy in their work; the beach was pristine (they machine groom to remove seaweed several times a day); the shuttle service to the beach and main Paradisus hotel was unpredictable; the rooms wer [... read more]e spacious and VERY clean. Family Concierge service well worth the extra expense if you have kids. Everything at the Reserve portion Is a cut above—plus it is MUCH less crowded. Am going back!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: wonderful resort

the staff were super friendly and helpful, room service good, buffet very good with wide variety to choose from while catering to gluten and lactose allergies. white sandy beach and always clean. fun activities always going on at resort. fun time

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Pretty Bad

Grounds, nicely kept. Restaurants, fair, not enough wait staff/ bus persons to keep up with the not full restaurant. An untrained waiter started well but could not keep up with the four tables he had. Chef came out to help ensure guests were placated and tried to convince us to return. Pools : kept clean with a portable filter system that was hooked up every morning for about 20 min or so to each of the three pools. Building maintenance, this hotel was showing it's age and was not kept up where low traffic was likely such as in the stair wells at the end of the hallways. rusty railings etc. Facility Care: When we first checked in the room did not have anything in the mini bar at all. There was some construction going on, on the first floor directly below our room, so we had to request to be moved to the other side of the hotel. Rooms were cleaned later in the day compared to other hotels in the Caribbean that I've stayed in. The mini bar fridge only ever received one bag of Chips for Three people. Hotel Staff: Very polite. Front desk staff other staff were all polite and were accommodating when asked for any service. Restaurant Staff: In the buffet, a fairly small selection that barely varied from day to day. Beach: nice beach with adequate seating and raked white sand every morning. beutiful turquoise waters . A little on the cool side but not unusual for this area.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Not good !

What a waste of time and money. We go south at least twice a year and can compare to other resorts. Hotel: old, empty, with construction going all day long. Never had such small soap bars in my life, plus they left only three of those and never added more. I do not use liquid soaps so I had a problem. They are so so cheap with replenishing the bar fridge in the room. For us three they left 2 packages of chips and not every day! Once my husband mentioned to the workers that they left only o [... read more]ne package of chips, they brought chips, but only one package! lol We don't eat chips normally, but on that resort I allowed my son to eat it. Restaurants: only one buffet with almost the same food every day. Three other restaurants require reservations, and also have a very limited menu. Asian restaurant was 'eh'. Mexican, oh Mexican... they had only one waiter on our side of the restaurant and he was so busy, so much in hurry, forgetting everything, dropping glasses, etc. Poor waiter. Pools. They are not heated. Only one hot tub and - o boy, they don't change often enough water and water is like 'pea soup' (my husband said). Entertainment. Almost no entertainment. 30 min here and there. No entertainment in pools. I saw once aerobics, but that was it. No cheerful music at the pools, engaging events, etc. Beach. Beach is ok. Probably the best piece of that resort. What a shame that they could't represent the beauty of the Bahamas in a better way. I will make sure that my friends will not go there. Would give 3 stretched stars to the resort, but remembering how much we paid ( ~$1700 per person), will give 2 stars.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: A bit disappointing

Breakfast and lunch were a bit boring-bacon only served twice. None of the food was hot except the freshly cooked egg dishes. Getting coffee was at times very slow-waited 10 minutes once. The American Grill was a nightmare at breakfast time the only day we tried it, no juice available. There was not much communication about the updates due to the fire, we found out accidently the Italian restaurant was relocated. Some of the staff hardly spoke any English. The a la carte restaurants were pretty good.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: 3 star at best

Overall we were disappointed in our experience at the Melia. Our room looked nice, but all of the metal elements were rusted. The tub wouldn’t drain (nor could we plug it to give our daughter a bath) and our hot water didn’t work the first day. Our AC unit was broken and blew cold air non-stop. We were frozen. The heaters on the hot tubs and pools weren’t working properly. The concrete around the resort was broken and our daughter tripped over some loose pieces and hurt herself. On the [... read more] positive side, the food was ok and the staff were lovely. We would not recommend this resort, nor will we return. Poor value for your money.

Melia Braco Village: Nice place to spend your vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Melia Braco Village. The food and staff were 5 star. The only major issues we had related to our room. Our request for beds and room location, made many months before and asked for before we arrived, was not met. We also had some shower issues which took a day to fix, had trouble with availability of warm water, and the room was very damp requiring constant A/C to be on, even though it was not extremely warm. These were disappointing elements to an otherwise [... read more] great locale. A quiet, yet busy enough resort with great entertainment- classy! Friendly staff and fairly prompt service, but the staff were stretched when the resort was filled over the New Years. The beach, while small, was nice and the snorkelling was good.

Zel Cozumel: Amazing resort!

Beach/Pools - I really liked the beach. It did have a build up of seaweed but the staff was great about cleaning it up. The water was a little choppy but usually clear. The pool was clean. The adult part was separated from the children's area. Service - Service was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because the resort was so small, the staff went out of their way to get to know you. Antonio at the buffett and Hilario at the Pool Bar were exceptional. Food - The food was go [... read more]od and there was a great selection. There was plenty for picky eaters and children. The food was fresh and hot. The Mexican restaurant was amazing. We prefered the buffet over the Italian restaurant. Rooms - The rooms were clean and well maintained. I found ours (Ocean View) to be a little damp. We asked for a dehumidifier but they didn't have one. Housekeeping did a thorough job in cleaning. Location - The hotel is on the North Side of the island and the last resort along the stretch. It was close to downtown Cozumel (about a $7 USD taxi) and the pier to Playa de Carmen. Comparative to the other resorts on the North side, the beach seemed better than most. Overall - I was thoroughly impressed with the Melia Cozumel. There was lots to do and it caters to families and couples. It's a small resort. It's friendly and casual. They offered evening shows each night. It does not have a disco but they play music in the lobby bar each evening after the show.

Melia Braco Village: Amazing Resort

The Melia Braco Village was outstanding, from the people to the food to grounds. It is a small resort, short walks to beach, bars, restaurants. The staff were great, special mention goes out to Ricardo from 876 Prime restaurant who went above and beyond to assist with our large group and to Pamela who kept the drinks flowing at the beach all day. The New Year's Eve celebration was outstanding!!! Great job! Rooms were clean and spacious. Would definitely go back there.

Melia Braco Village: Amazing Resort

Thanks again to Wendy for finding an amazing resort for our Christmas vacation. Everything was great from the size of the resort to the people. The food was great especially the steak house.We are planning to go back again next year!

Melia Braco Village: The Best Resort Ever

This hotel was absolutely amazing!! The food, the people and lay out of the resort were all absolutely spectacular. It truly felt like a home away from home. The staff make you feel like family and are so sweet. There is entertainment every night and you are never bored. The only negatives were the rocks on the beach in the water and the rooms. If you don’t like being in the ocean or unpacking all your belongings during your trip then no big deal. Melia Braco Village: Great Holiday

We were pleasantly surprised with this resort! The people who work here were amazing and made our stay fantastic! Pamela and Chantal on the beach and Ricardo, Fitzgerald and Octavia in the restaurants! New Year’s Eve was so beautifully done! We would’ve liked to see more restaurants and wish we couldve walked a Long Beach walk but the good out weighed the few negatives.

Paradisus Punta Cana: smells really bad

We had to change room for 3times because it smells really bad and one of the rooms has bed bug. Food is ok and hotel service people are ok. However, parasailing and hair styling people are liars. We do not recommend this restort.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: A nice place to relax

People are genuinely friendly, and the grounds are very well taken care of. You feel safe walking the vast grounds no matter what time of day. Suites at the Reserve are spacious if somewhat dated. Pools are beautiful and the Reserve area of the beach is not croweded with ample place to spread out. Food at the resort is average. Of all the a la carte restaurants only Vento stood out as memorable. It’s not as if the food is bad (it’s not), but don’t expect gourmet. Buffets for lunch are les [... read more]s than inspired (buffet at beach is better than buffet at reserve). Reservations for the a la carte restaurants were not hard to secure. Alcohol flows expected and premium brands can be found if you ask nicely. Kids club and activities for adults were a nice surprise.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: 5 star all the way!

This was the 6th all-inclusive we have been to, and by far the best! Very family-oriented, great service, great food (not just for Mexico standards!) The pirate pool and baby club were both great for our 2&4 year olds!

Paradisus Cancun: Fantastic resort!

We were so impressed with Paradisus Cancun! Definitely the best all-inclusive we've ever experienced! Fantastic service-friendly and very quick to respond! Stunningly beautiful hotel atrium and wonderful beach. Top quality drinks too!

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great Time

The hotel grounds were extremely well kept and very clean. There were ample chairs to choose from at the beach, never had a problem finding a spot to enjoy some sun. A recommendation would be to have some palapa’s put on the beach so that if you require some time in the shade it’s available. We did rent a covered sun bed one day for a very reasonable $25 USD. The waiters will serve you all day until your little heart is content. The only complaint we had was our room didn’t get cleaned 3 d [... read more]ays in a row. We don’t spend very much time in our room, so after one little phone call we received fresh towels without any hesitation from the front desk staff and an apology. The food was great, with lots of selections to satisfy even the picky people. Also, unlimited a la Cart reservations was a nice perk. All in all had a great time!
