The resort was absolutely amazing from the grounds to the staff the food everything. We went on a recommendation by a trip central agent and we can not thank her enough. It was our first time in Mexico. We hope to return next year with the kids

Grand Riviera Princess: Beautiful amazing resort!

This was our second trip to this resort. We loved it so much we had to go back! And we will be back again, it never fails to disappoint! This time we stayed in the Junior Deluxe Suites instead of Platinum and it was just as nice. Everything is so clean here and the gardens are beautiful. All the staff are so friendly and work so hard to make sure you have an amazing vacation. There are so many different pool areas to lounge by or head to the beach. The entertainment team also do a fantastic job keeping everyone happy - the beach foam party was so much fun! Would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Fantastic Resort!

Highly recommend this property. Food was magnificent, staff wonderful! Awesome pools. Transfers to and from airport seamless. Bars were super fun with great entertainment. We will definitely be back!

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Family -friendly. Resort

First time in an all inclusive resort.The resort was fantastic an the staffwas friendly an courteous,an they treated our entire family with respect, an they ensure my daughter who had a severe peanut allergy was taken care off .Not many activities for my teenage son.For a family friendly resort Azul beach resort is the place.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Family vacation

We just returned from Azul Fives and I can't say enough about this resort. The staff is so hard working, friendly and constantly make sure you have everything you need and want. The grounds are absolutely meticulous. You feel like you are surrounded by the rain forest. Food absolutely exceeded our expectations. This place is worth visiting again and again.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Loved the Hideaway Royalton riviera

Okay I did a lot of searching before picking this resort and I choose perfectly. From the moment we arrived at the Royalton riviera hideaway every single staff member was amazing. Diamond club at the hideaway I highly recommend. A welcome drink was given to you as soon as you arrived. They took our bags so that they could be delivered to our room. We went and changed i [... read more]n the main lobby into our bathing suits and were headed to the beach because our room wasn’t quite ready. I didn’t want to take all of our things to the beach so we went back to the lobby to give them to the bell boy so he could escort them to our room. But much to our surprise they had already been taken to our room as it was ready! We got to our room and it was spectacular! Ocean front, huge, balcony with jacuzzi. There was a welcome message from out two butlers, Michelle and Evanisto. Not more than two minutes later Michelle was at our door, introduced herself, asked if we needing anything and could she unpack for us, what would we like to drink etc., showed us how the tv worked, how we could order food etc. She told us when she would be working and when Evanisto would be working. After she left the door knocked again and it was a concierge with a bottle of champagne. We left our room to explore a bit and ended up sitting in the lobby and just gazing graciously at how beautiful everything was. Franklyn (Franko) the front concierge across from the spa came over, introduced himself and them offered to get us drinks. Can you say wow! When we went to the beach on the diamond club hideaway section where we were always greeted with a smile by Raul. He offered us towels, laid them out for us, and was always coming around to service everyone with drinks. He took excellent care of his resort guests. We had a great time at the pool as well. Jorge was always looking after us and he would let us know when he was going to be leaving and who would be looking after us like Gabriella who was also so accommodating. Oscar at the Dorando was a spectacular waiter as we ate there many times and all of the staff were so friendly and willing to please. I wish I could remember everyone’s name and if I had known that it was important for the review I would written them all down. I also have to mention how clean this resort was! Not one single detail was overlooked...

Grand Oasis Riviera: Great family place

Lovely grounds, attentive and well organized kids club. Hotel needs to get a better system for cleaning seaweed. While seaweed itself is natural and unavoidable, leaving it plastic bags for several days is an eyesore to what would otherwise be just a naturally beautiful beach.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Fabulous resort and surrounding area!

We loved our family trip to Dreams Puerto Adventuras. The gated community that surrounds the resort felt safe and secure. We took a walk around the marina and market area every morning. We watched the fishing boats get ready for their day trips while numerous pelicans waited nearby. The resort itself has so much to offer. A nice beach area where the snorkelling was great! We saw many types of fish... even a cuttle fish! The staff were super fun, friendly, helpful and very energetic! A shout o [... read more]ut to the amazing Entertainment crew of Alberto, Giovanni, Bernice and Mitzi !!!!! They welcomed us with open arms and treated our 10 year old son as one of their own!!! We enjoyed the food at all the restaurants. Our favourite spot for lunch was the Seaside Grill where Juan, Edgar and Andreas took such great care in serving us with humour and enthusiasm!!! The Dolphin Discovery is right beside the resort. By far the best swim with the dolphins around for a great price!!! The Amstar reps in the main lobby were very knowledgeable about excursions off the resort. Easy to book. We chose a half day trip to Tulum to see the ruins. Lots of great excursion choices in this area. Will definitely choose to do a snorkel and cenote excursion when we return:) Snorkel reef trips leave right from the marina so you do not have to get in a van or bus to get there. This was by far one of our best family vacations ever!!!

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Fantastic Time!

Occidental is a fabulous resort. There is wildlife everywhere and you really feel like it is a cozy resort, but in fact it is huge. The staff is fantastic (Victor the bartender, Fernando the activities guide) and very friendly. The food at the buffets was always fresh and the a la cartes really went out of their way with food and service. I highly recommend this resort and we will definitely return.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Nice resort

Resort is very big but the shuttles r pretty quick . Food was very good .rooms clean but air condition not working ver well . Complained 4 time still no change .that sucked .people very friendly . Beach no no good . No flat sad . Very weedy and soft sand. Difficult to walk in .

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Bluebay stay from March 10th-17th 2018

The staff at the Bluebay was so friendly and efficient. The rooms are decent and the food was good. There is always something you could find to eat. Salad bar was great with lots of choices. Unfortunately the beach was not nice at all but the pools were great. I would recommend this resort to someone who didn't care for sitting on the beach and swimming in the ocean.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Worst Royalton I have been too

With the exception of the food, which was good, the service at the front desk, how we were treated was terrible. They said it was our agent's fault our room was incorrect. We booked a 2 bedroom Presidential Suite. Suite, as the name implies has a living room and two(2) adjoining bedrooms. No, in their case, it means a One(1) Bedroom suite beside a one bedroom studio suite with NO adjoining door in between. Essentially, 2 bedrooms separate. Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Great Resort

Overall we loved the resort. Rooms were clean but small, but bathrooms large! Grounds were beautiful and the food and service was great. I loved how you did not have to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and you could go as many times as you please. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: A great family vacation resort!

This location is beautiful with friendly staff and great food. A lot of things for children to do. We didn't have children with us this time, but I noticed how child friendly it was and how many children were there.

It was an amazing week in the sun... the resort was huge but it was easy to navigate (not a lot of stairs or hilly) and there were trams everywhere at any time of day. Lots of choices of food at the buffet and the al la carts were very good too! The rooms were clean, plenty of pools, food and drink always steps away. The grounds were immaculate and surprisingly and very happy to say that there were enough green areas for local habitat to still thrive (lizards, coati, birds etc) . Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very nice overall

The beach was disappointing, weedy and rocky. But the resort itself was excellent. Great buffet, friendly staff, nice pools, clean rooms, manicured grounds. A la carte restaurants were mostly good. Activities and shows were ok. Often had to wait for service at the pool bars. Overall good though.

Grand Sunset Princess: Nice clean resort

The trip was real good , trip central lined everything up nicely. A little mix up on the plane seating. The resort was big but clean and beautiful the people were friendly and all the restaurants with exception of the Italian was very good . One big problem was the time share salsman lots of them and they will tell you almost anything to get you to their sales meeting. Grand Sunset Princess: Wonderful Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious and the entire resort gleams. The staff are happy and helpful. The pools abound, the drinks are delicious and a good size and the food was fresh. We loved the gym and the clssses it offered. The only downside was the beach. I will definitely frequent a Grand Sunset Princess in the future.

Unico 20 87 Hotel Riviera Maya: Beautiful Resort - UNICO 20°N 87°W - Riviera Maya

Unico celebrated it's 1 yr anniversary the week before we arrived. Everything is still fresh and new, but the staff has clearly had time to build a great service team. We were super impressed with how helpful and professional everyone was. And absolutely no pressure to tip (although it was always graciously received) like we experienced in Cuba. The room was very comfortable - King bed, with a couch and large wood table to work at if needed. Well stocked with toiletries, soaps, snacks, beer, [... read more] pop, wine, and coffee. Wonderful balcony with a comfy love-seat and view overlooking the pool and the ocean beyond. All the floors above ground level are strangely equipped with a large Jacuzzi tub - great for exhibitionists - but hard to imagine anyone using it when there's a pool just steps away. The ground floor rooms have hammock and 2 lounge chairs extending into a narrow pool. We found the west-facing balcony perfect for retreating from the sun in the afternoon. The pool design is unique and offers lots of nice places to sit and soak up the sun without feeling crowded at all. During our stay, we didn't even need to reserve a spot - lots of open lounges which was great. The beach had a red flag up the entire week, so no ocean swimming, and the grass would have made it a bit unpleasant anyway. One main lobby bar, very quiet during the day but always staffed, and a social spot to hang out in the evening. Very classy and comfortable seats and leather couches, with several checkers/backgammon games tables and a Boston pool table. A second "nightclub" has limited hours but does salsa nights which are cool, although we never got our timing right to participate. We also took advantage of the "inclusion" spa - a massage and facial for both of us, charged at 20% of the list price - which works out to be about what you'd expect to pay at home. Neither masseurs were RMT's, but we both enjoyed the indulgence. Can't forget to mention the food - lots of choices and overall excellent quality. The steak at the "steak house" was ok (thin and not a prime cut), but the tenderloin and the seafood at the Italian restaurant were superb. Delicious rack of lamb at the Mexican place. My partner opted for lighter fare at all 3 and was also impressed. Great breakfast buffet - made-to-order omelettes, tons of fresh fruit and cheeses, and hot mexican dishes too. A self-serve Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar rounded out the selections. Super fresh-made tacos by the pool-side were also top-notch, with probably the best fish tacos I've had. Tequila and Mescal tasting nights were right up my alley and gave a good intro to guests on these fine local spirits. Not much negative to say about the place - and nothing major. The cash machine warned of a 32USD service charge, which discouraged drawing extra money for tips (So bring enough USD to cover tips, if you're so inclined.) They should consider offering a lower fee for the benefit of the staff. The cabanas around the pool are prime spots but there's a stiff daily charge - which may be negotiable since they were rarely occupied. As I've read in other reviews, they seem to cater to corporate events and these take over half the pool deck in most evenings - which is already deserted by 6:30 anyway - but they're the only outdoor dances so if you're not there on business, your options are limited to the lobby bar and nightclub, when it's open. I wondered about the drinks as well - let's say I felt better in the morning than I had a right to. I highly recommend the Don Julio Blanco, the Corona (cans) and the house Merlot - no complaint from me on any of those tasty treats. We'd both be happy going back. None of these negatives took away from a great vacation at Unico Riviera Maya!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great 2nd Stay at Sian Ka'an

This was our second stay at Sian Ka'an in Riviera Maya. They had a nice set up for our honeymoon once we arrived. Champagne, rose pedals, gift bag and chocolates. The service was stellar. Maria in the lobby bar, Carlos at the Sian Ka'an beach bar were amazing. One morning, Paula in the lobby asked us for some feedback and one of our friends mentioned that it was disappointing that they no longer were offering real top shelf booze such as Grey Goose. Paula made sure that our friend had access to top shelf booze for the rest of the trip but we didn't use it. I asked for a real ketchup bottle at breakfast because I hated the little packs, and she brought me one from home the next day! lol. Amazing. Overall the service is unmatched but after being there twice we feel it's time to move on and explore other resorts or different types of trips.
