Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: nice resort

The rooms and grounds were nice but the spa, disco, and theater were still under construction because of the hurricane. They are working very hard on fixing it up and should be all done soon. Staff was great

Melia Marina Varadero: Will never return

We were disappointed in the food, the service and the level of care we received. The rooms were filthy and everything was in need of repair. Even the beach was in need of some TLC, broken cabanas, beach covered in seaweed and staff standing around chatting.

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing Resort

I booked the marina view room and it was spectacular the bathroom opened up into the room so you could see the ocean view from the bathtub! The service was also great, I really enjoyed my stay here. The quality of food at the restaurants was better than the buffet and delicious :)

Muthu Playa Varadero: Really nice experience!

The best part of the resort is probably how close it is to the beautiful beach. Also, on the beach, it was free to go for kayak, paddle boating, or sailboat rides. The pool area has a nice layout and has a bar beside it with lunch foods. The main buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner didn't always have the best food selections. We got two dinner reservations at the nicer restaurants during our week-long trip which were both very nice. Muthu Playa Varadero: Nice resort

The rooms are clean but old, the staff were amazing, nice fun, the breakfasts were delicious and the donuts were amazing. But the rest of the food wasn't good even by Cuban standards! The pool was nice, clean and a lot of seating.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beam me back Scotty

It was a wonderful resort beach was great , staff wonderful , Entertainment at night the best I have had in Cuba . The restaurants were good and very accommodating . the fellow at the reservation desk got us an old fashioned car ride and private interpretor for the same price as a bus ride into Havana .

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: poorly managed property

It wasn't the first time on this property, I thought I knew what I was getting into, but it was worst than what I had in May this year. The food and the service were horrendous; cold food on the hot tables,(never turned on, high food poisoning risk), never enough food, only for the first ones to show early. I have to change rooms after 3 days because the door look was deactivated and there was no staff on site to fix it, Instead the have a young man risking his life accessing the room from the [... read more] next door balcony on a six floor.

Starfish Jibacoa: My Second Home !

I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Despite some damage to foliage, which the gardeners were busy removing and re-planting, the resort is looking great. New planters in front lobby. Food was actually better this time with lots of variety. Rooms very clean. Bungalows 5 thru 10 still closed due to renovations from hurricane Irma. Resort has new manager and you can see the changes already. Hoping to be back in February......

Melia Marina Varadero: OK resort

A little rough around the edges. Rooms were mouldy smelling. Nothing was fully clean, even in the restaurant - dirty cutlery, lipstick marks on napkins, dust on shelves etc. Pool was nice. Food was not great

Palma Real: Resort has its UP & Downs Its a 3 star resort you get your moneys worth

IVE been to palma real many times let me start by saying the workers on this resort are fantastic people they always treat us very good,from the gardners the bartenders the waitresses in the restaurant right up to the manager of the resort,they have made some changes since my last visit,the lobby bar is no longer 24hrs so you cant get a coffee until 7.00am in the morning so if your a early riser like me its not good,the swim up bar was under renovations the whole time we were there so that pool  [... read more]was closed,lot of construction going on in building one don't know why.The food this time was pretty good.All in all we had a fantisic time as we normally do,there was 11 of us,would we go again of course we would,mostly because of the workers at the resort.For a 3 star resort & the price for a week its pretty good,IF you want high end stuff go somewhere else...................

Melia Las Antillas: Amazing resort !

Hotel was amazing, little damaged after hurricane but stuff really friendly, pictures on the website are probably made it 15 years ago, but overall still we had a very very good time. I'll recommend!

Grand Memories Varadero: Wonderful Vacation!

Great hotel, amazing staff (especially the cleaners and buffet staff), great entertainment, wide variety of food and drinks, well maintained beach/gardens and grounds... Overall wonderful experience! we stayed for 8 days and I wish we never had to leave!!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Good resort for the money

Beach is great! One a-la-carte restaurant is closed due to the roof being blown off during the hurricane. Staff is very helpful. The only issue we had was having to pay $15.00 for a beach towel that was taken from our chair at the pool while we were doing an activity. Time from the airport is good - 40 minutes with stops picking up/dropping off other tourists to their respective resorts.

Blau Privilege Cayo Libertad: Peaceful Paradise

Rooms: clean, large. Was a small issue when I first arrived with small ant-like bugs in the bathroom sink - front desk and cleaning staff acted right away at my request and resolved the problem Front Desk: always happy to help and answer any questions Buffet and A La Carte Staff: Always smiling, provided great service - made you feel like you were at home Dining: I preferred the main buffet over the a la carte - more to choose from Beach: Beautiful Peaceful - Love how their was [... read more] a mini bar set up right on the beach :) Pool: I did not spend time at the main pool by the main buffet. The pool by the a al Carte restaurant was beautiful and had a nice view of the beach. Entertainment: The nightly entertainment was good, but a bit repetitive on some nights Other: Due to construction at Blau Marina was not able to have access :( Wifi: was in and out - for better Wifi can go to the Cafe at Marina Varadero which is a 10 minute walk away. You can also ask one of the cart drivers to take you over there if you do not feel like the walk Overall loved my stay - will definitely go back :)

Roc Arenas Doradas: Good choice in a post-Irma Cuba

We just returned from two weeks at Arenas Dorades (AD). While we were there we walked down the beach and visited some of the neighbouring resorts to see they had considerably more damage then AD. In fact, except for losing the beach-side bar and some thatched-roofing, AD has done a great job and bringing their grounds back to a nice level. The weather thefirst week was 29-30 degrees so it was OK the AD pool was "chilly". However, by the 2nd week, the weather had cooled to 26-27 degrees and i [... read more]t was no longer comfortable to use the pool. We opted for the beach and the ocean - which was warmer than the pool. I would hesitate to book a winter vacation here until I knew they were going to turn the pool up. Two weeks of eating at the AD cafeteria grew thin. In fact I would engourage Sunwing to do soething about their partner's food. Sunwing is promoting their " new on-board menu inspired by Celebrity Chef Lynn Crawford". Well, send Lynn Crawford down to your partrner hotels and inspire some edible food. The quaility of the food in Cuba has long been a weakness - its time to fix it. Overall, we had a very affordable two-week vacation at a nice resort that is working hard to recover from Irma. I would go back to AD but I would eat out at Veradero a few more nights.

Melia Marina Varadero: Not a 5 star

This hotel is not a 5-star hotel at all. They kept running out of food. They would have a variety of options on the menu we go order 1 hour into serving breakfast or lunch they have already run out. All pork no considerations for nonpork eaters. If you are young DO NOT STAY HERE. My husband and I are mid 30's and were bored out of our minds. Nothing to do. They have an on-site disco but drinks are not included not to mention the disco is dead due to the clientele for the hotel are all over [... read more] 50 to 60 years old. My husband and I are newlyweds requested for an upgrade when we booked they did nothing special but give us a bottle of cheap champagne which they serve as with the all-inclusive package drinks.Entertainment was horrible nothing special same old thing evening dancing lessons under the lobby bar which again was always dead. Waste of money never again.

Memories Jibacoa: Lovely resort

The room were spacious and clean and staff from the room maids, to the waitresses and bar staff to the managers were great can’t say enough good things Will definitely be going back soon met a lot of new people there

Starfish Jibacoa: Relaxation at its best!

Villa Jibakoa, tucked in between Havana and Varadero, was just what we were hoping for. Our stay was super relaxing to say the least. This resort is spread out on a meticulously landscaped grounds that makes you feel like you're not trampled upon by other tourists, and yet close enough to all the services needed. From the hotel management, grounds keepers, room service personnel, to the excellent food workers and servers, all staff were super friendly and seemed to enjoy serving the tourist.  [... read more] In fact my wife said that for her this was the best food she has had to date after nine different trips to Cuba. A big thumbs up to Villa Jibokao!!!

Starfish Jibacoa: We visit over and over!

This is a resort for the regular person. A resort that offers more than just a vacation, it offers a family. I have visited this resort multiple times and brought friends and family with me! I always have a wonderful time and never leave disappointed.
