Melia Las Dunas: Another great vacation!

The 9th time to Melia Dunas and will be back again. The staff are so friendly and attentive, the grounds are well kept, food is good and plentiful and the beach is beautiful. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic place !

Just amazing ! Loved everything from the minute we landed to the minute we left ! Amazing stuff, clean rooms, the beach just breath taking ! The view from the room spectacular ! My best trip to Cuba so far ! Going back for sure !

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: The best vacation!

This was the most amazing resort! Staff were so friendly especially Elvis,Ricky, Alex, Yasnier, Adrián, Rollo and his crew. All of the shows at night, the food and the beach was amazing, there wasn’t anything that didn’t go perfectly. The room was extremely clean and we had a beautiful ocean view as well. I have absolutely no complaints and am counting down the days until we go back!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Disappointing

Tryp Hotel I had a trip booked from May 4-11/22. After 2 days we moved to another resort. We had to move rooms 3 times and even on the 3 move the floor was wet from the faulty air conditioner. The rooms are very old and in need of makeovers Food and beverages were hard to come by and what we did get wasn’t very nice. Wine wasn’t available as listed on line. Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful Staff

My cabana was very nice, ocean view and a good size. The house keeping staff were wonderful. However, when we arrived it appeared they were not ready for us. The wait to check in was too long and no written or verbal information was provided about the resort or the cabana room. Restaurant and bar staff were very obliging and friendly. Unfortunately, the resort did not appear to be actively managed very well.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great time

I had a great time, my first solo trip. The hotel staff always made me feel welcome. The resort is clean, well kept gardens and stocked bars. The food was not the best, I have been to 🇨🇺 7 times and have never had an issue until this resort. No fries, no butter, smaller buffet than most resorts, less options.

Melia Buenavista: wonderful time

The hotel was very nice, very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was better than i was expecting and have never being to Cuba before I heard many people telling me bring your own spices its bland ect. For me as a vegetarian yes things were limited and there go to was pasta but it was all edible my wife on the other hand enjoyed what she ate which was mostly chicken dishes. The beaches were nice went snorkeling for hours each day. I would return to this resort without question. Some items dont work the best shower door hard to open sliding door not able to lock(on second floor so not a concern for us) i understand age of resort as well as how sea breezes can corrode metal.

Blau Varadero: Nice resort

Nice resort. Overall well maintained. Some improvement may be needed (water in the washrooms by the pool) . Staff were friendly. Providing wifi without the use of short term voucher (a hassle) can improve a more pleasant stay. Staff used masks and guests were obliged to use the mask in restaurants.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Very nice resort

Grounds were beautiful. Gardeners do a fantastic job keeping it trimmed and clean. Rooms were great. Could be a little cleaner. Maybe a bit of an update on decor. Dining area was good. Waiters were always very attentive and pleasant. Food choice could have been better. The bar did not have a whole lot of choice. Very limited on mix for drinks. Ran out of beer for at one point. This resort would be nothing if it weren’t for the staff working here. They deserve the credit for our enjoyable gate [... read more]way. They made the best with what they had. Have to mention that the bar tenders at the beach were not very energetic. We stood and waiting long periods of time for service. They had only one tending to bar. So when they were getting drink orders on the beach no one was at bar.

Blau Varadero: Nice Resort

I recently spent 10 days at this resort. The Blau is a beach front Varadero resort, pleasant grounds, spacious pool (but the jets were not working), the beach is long with white sand ( most days were windy and the flag was yellow). The room I stayed in was upgraded as part of the "Select Concept" with ocean view balcony, comfortable king size bed, hot water pressure fine, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and mini fridge. The food was mediocre, not so much a lack of supplies but a lack of culina [... read more]ry savvy, lack of interest or both. Ingredients rarely looked fresh and often the buffet looked much recycled from one day to the next. Dinner at the A la carte restaurant was a bit better, you could only eat there if you had purchased the " Select". Then again, it would be only 3 times per week, not every day. The wines were good. The drinks at the various bars were passable and the "Chill out Bar " was disappointing. Could not enjoy a decently prepared pina colada. The staff were courteous and most were attentive and good at their job. All in all, I found the Blau did not live up to my expectations, and I believe I will not return to this resort. I had purchased the "Select" but 50% of the advertised items were not offered. When I enquired as to why this was the case I could not get clear answers - a reflection on poor hotel management.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Lovely time

We enjoyed our time at the Esmeralda, the staff was lovely, they made a cake for my husband’s birthday and we’re so very kind and helpful. There were a few small issues that were quickly resolved. We enjoyed our Cuban night meal the most. The food was lovely, despite the challenges of supplies. I wouldn’t rate this as a North American 5 star but a solid 3.5which was lovely.

Paradisus Varadero: Fantastic resort

The resort has a fantastic ocean view dinners and beautiful walks. One of the best lobby in lobby Bar that ever been to.The rooms were newly renovated comfortable beds.Lots of food options. Staff and people all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book again and would recommend.

Blau Varadero: Great vacation!!!

Hola!!! My wife and I had a great time in Blau Varadero and would highly recommend to anyone. We are planning to go again next year. Staff are very friendly and polite, there’s always lounge chairs at the pool and beach no matter what time of the day. We enjoyed the pina caladas, mojitos and cappuccinos 😜

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Awesome Resort

Just got back on May7th.Check in was easy and fast. Our room was ready which was great so we didn’t have to worry about keeping our luggage somewhere. We were in room 4111 which was a very short walk to the pool as well as the privledge restauant. We were on the bottom floor and had two double beds. The bed was comfortable [... read more] and we slept well. The shower stall was spacious, the water pressure was fantastic. We had hot water every day except one and had fresh towels daily. The bathtub was huge. The air conditioning worked really well. The woman who cleaned our room, Yamile, was wonderful. She always had a smile and a kind word. This was our second time at this resort and privledge is definitely worth the upgrade! However, be prepared to get lots of mosquito bites and flies are quite abundent in the priv restaurant. The shows were entertaining but not unmissable. This could use some improvement. Lobby also had entertainment after show. The beach is amazing here and lots of activities to keep you entertained. Wifi was free but you have to go to main reception to add time to your wifi ticket when 3 hrs of use is up. TIP: turn wifi off when not using to conserve time. The staff is super friendly especially when tips are in your hand. All in all great spot to relax by the pool or on the beach and feel safe. No one goes to Cuba for the food but you must upgrade to privledge to eat half decent!!!

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Trip- Central and others are Misrepresenting the Public

Good Afternoon Karol: Let me first start off by saying that my wife and I enjoyed our vacation ( a vacation is what one makes the best of it , regardless ) inlight of the many issues / concerns listed here, and thus it is obvious that Canadian Travel Companies including tripcentral are out of touch with what is really happening We booked at the Colonial Resort in Cayo Coco; however the travel company changed it to the El Mojito Resort ( apparently at 3.5 to 4 star Rating. During our wal [... read more]kon the beach, we found out that the Colonial has been closed for a couple of months, yet it is still offered. El Mojito did not provide the type of room per our reservation ( balcony ) . This did get sorted out at extant cost to us. The El Mojito clientele is made up of about 85% local Cubas and 15% International, with only about 30 percent of the facility open. The El Mojito has serious food shortages of all types, including bread, butter, (attached photos show typical available foods throughout our stay. We have been all over Cuba about 30 times over a 25 years period and can say without exaggeration the food issue here was the second worst. The rating for the Mojito should be closer to 2.5 Star. Sometimes there was no wheat flour for bread or pizzas. Breakfasts typically included beans, mashed potatoes, watery scrambled eggs, hardboiled eggs, cabbage. Usually there were two omelette stations with excessively long lines. Bread and butter were virtually always unavailable as many Cubanans " Hoarded the Bread & Butter '' ( many individuals piled stacks of bread & butter ( each person would have about 6-8 slabs of butter and 6-8 bread buns) to the point there would not be any left....in the staff would only replenish about every 20-30 minutes. Desserts / Sweets ( same reason as the Bread & Butter) Fresh fruit was available, but lacking. Not a 4 star place. Lunch and Dinner offerings were not much different from the breakfasts. The Bread & Butter issue the same. The Offering for vegetables was minimal, but we did have rice. With respect to meat, there was usually some type of chicken or pork stew. The meat Grill Stations were difficult due to the Hoarding by Locals. Typically individuals would pile 10-15 pieces of grilled meat onto one plate and then leave nothing for others. Evening entertainment was almost non existent except for" Kids" night. The Representative from Sunwing / Air Transit only showed up about 2 times over the 14 day period. Following our group meeting ( indepth) with Management the "A La Carte" dining was made available for Breakfast for Canadians . We did make the best of it, as the staff were wonderful. However we would NOT recommend this place to anyone unless there were changes In closing Trip- Central and others are Misrepresenting the Public in their Offerings of what is truly available and they are " Out of Touch" of what is likely happening everywhere in Cuba. Iberostar Selection Holguin: amazing resort

Iberostar holguin is a resort we would definitely love to return to. Very clean and beautiful landscaping with a wonderful staff. Buffet was organized and food was good . Loved the small beach area close to the buildings perfect for children because of the shallow water and across the short bridge to the main beach is a nice walk for those who like to take short walks. The shuttle carts are also available for a ride across. The water is as beautiful as i have seen. I would love to visit again.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Awesome choice!

Our agent, Carol Webber recommended Melia Peninsula varadero and I am so glad we went with it. Was better than expected. My biggest concern was the bathroom but I was relieved to find it clean, well maintained and modern. Food wasn’t the best with same food day in day out but it wasn’t bad. The hotel restaurants could do better - felt like buffet was food served at the Italian one. The Japanese one was a good experience but the food was blah - we ended up at the buffet after. The hotel had  [... read more]some nice dance shows! Very entertaining. Most staff were friendly but receptionists need to improve on pleasantness. Serious faces with an attitude are not warm and welcoming.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Week April 29 - May 7

Myself and my daughter visited this resort April 29th to May 7. What an amazing week we had. We met so many great people from visitors like ourselves and staff. Can’t say enough about the staff, friendly helpful kind …the list goes on. Drinks were great food was fine, we don’t go to cuba for the food we go for the awesome people and beaches amd this beach is just gorgeous, lots chairs no need to get up early. Only thing that could use some upgrading is the A/C in the buffet, it’s hot in there, can’t imagine what the staff feels like cooking and serving. Other then that we really enjoyed our stay. 3 years past due. Thank for a great week away! We will likely go back.

Memories Jibacoa: Reefs a delight

We had a great time in the water checking out the fish that were near shore and walk in scuba dives at a good price. Although the beach wasn't comparable as in Varadero due to the coral, for the most part it did not inhibit us from wading in it waist height until the start of the coral. Covid wise all the staff were super masked yet accommodating for most of the resort (except the buffet area) for clients, that is until you sat down to eat. PS be sure not to leave any things around that might be misinterpreted as a gift/ tip to staff as a few things were picked up by them and it's hard to ask for it again, especially if you only notice it after a few days. A guided sail, and outdoor yoga to start the day was a welcomed and relaxing daily event. Also as an adult resort only was nice

Grand Memories Varadero: Great people, rooms need lots of love!

The Grand Memories Varadero resort offered beautiful grounds and great staff. However, the rooms ( though relatively clean) were in rough repair. Holes in the drywall, cracks in the sink and tiles, etc. We were also welcomed to a toilet that wouldn’t flush. Plus our balcony featured a sliding glass door that was literally falling apart at the seams. We were very disappointed that one of the focal points of the resort (pool with the rock cave) was not operational. The we be pool was full of  [... read more]green algae…due to a broken pump. The pandemic has been tough on Cuba and this resort bears those scars. For adult only travelers, others raved about how lovely their food and accommodations were at the adjacent Sanctuary by Grand Memories. Food was hit and miss ( as it can be in Cuba) but we never went hungry. Beach was beautiful! Locals preferred tips in $CDN…so don’t exchange too much into the local currency. We exchanged $100, by still had lots leftover. Locals are paying upwards of 70 Cuban Pesos (CUP) for every dollar Canadian. Entertainment team worked hard and the shows were great! The best Mojito could be found in the lobby bar, but beware wine was only available in the a la cartes. Food supply chain was challenging on the island … but the restaurants all had amazing bread…and often you could even find condiments like Heinz ketchup, HP Sauce or mustard! Taking a big old-fashioned convertible cab into Varadero for dinner was so fun! Varadero 60 Restaurant was delicious!
