Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: was a fair place

it was fine all around but food was fair ,had trouble when lost towel,long drive from airport,front desk had people who could not no or use inglish,food on grills was over cooked,do not order beef or pork ,could use beef on the sole of you shoes tuffand again over cooked

really impressed with the friendly staff,clean rooms,good food and fantastic beach. pool area is very clean. bars serve excellent drinks and they seem to remember what you are drinking. my rating is 97/100

Hotel Camino del Mar: Not what we expected

The resort was ok but not what we had expected at all. For the most part we enjoyed ourselves minus a few things that will prevent us from returning and I thought that it would be useful information for you for when you recommend this resort in the future. Most importantly we will not fly Canjet again if we can help it. The majority of the guests at this resort are older / retired people. It was a very boring resort to be honest. The beach was amazing but it was often difficult to find a lounger on the beach and loungers at the pool were non existent as they were "reserved" by guests very early morning with their towels so we never had a chance to go in the pool at all the whole vacation. It is a very windy place which we did not know. It is a famous location for kite surfing due to the windiness. It was nice for not being too hot and muggy but not so nice for the waves in the ocean for swimming. We were able to go in to the water about 3 times because the rest of the time there was a red flag and no one was allowed in the water as it was not safe. I came home however with both of my legs extremely chewed up from sand fleas. I'm not talking one or two bites I'm talking hundreds of bites, my legs, ankles and feet were completely covered! Food was great so we were really happy with that!! The rooms were really clean but dated but that is pretty well the norm for Cuba so that's not a big deal. We did not have any bugs in our room so we were happy with that LOL. We paid quite a bit of money after we arrived there for an upgraded room and were rather disappointed with the "upgrade" but all in all it was ok. The customer service at the resort was fantastic for the most part with just a couple of incidents we had which were not major and not worth mentioning. The staff were all super friendly. This resort is more suited for older people that don't mind that there is not really much entertainment and the fact that the resort is made up mostly of older people and want a super quiet vacation. I really would not recommend this place to younger people because they will find themselves extremely bored as we were.

Hotel Playa Coco: Great resort

I had a great time , staff was very friendly , food was ok. But it was my first time in Cuba so based on that it was great , the beach was beautiful , the watch was very clean. The drinks had to much alcohol in them for my taste but I am not much of a drinker .

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Excellent resort

Very good hotel, food in buffet is even better than in restaurants, nice beach and location. A lot of activities - dances, archery, volleyball, Spanish lessons, staff is very friendly. Will go there again

Melia Cayo Coco: Entertainment outstanding!

I found this resort to be better than most. The entertainment at night was fabulous. The bands that were playing are worth paying to see. They are phenomenal. The beaches are beautiful white sand and warm water. The staff is so friendly and there is always something to do. Don't hesitate, make your reservation now.

Hotel Mojito: Great Beach and Food

This was a very nice hotel...beautiful rooms, and for the first time to Cuba I can say the food was amazing...no diet camp at this resort..lol The staff was very helpful and very friendly. Very good entertainment. I would go back to this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very good resort

The cleanliness of this resort was impressive. Also, the food at the buffet area was better than expected. We actually preferred it to the restaurants. Friendliness of the staff was amazing. The reason for the four star rating was the beach. There was a lot of coral and also. It was difficult to find an available lounge chair. There should be enough to accommodate all the guests.

Melia Cayo Coco: Always a pleasure at the Melia

This was not our first time at the Melia Cayo Coco so that alone tells you that we enjoy this resort. Because it is adults only it is a quieter, relaxing destination. The food is the best we have ever had in Cuba and we have stayed in several other resorts in other locations in Cuba. The rooms are not overly luxurious but clean, what you need, and comfortable. This time we backed onto the tennis courts which we would not accept again as we found the lights of the courts bothersome. We always req [... read more]uest a second floor room, which we have always been given. You can walk forever in either direction along the beach and feel safe. You are permitted to stop and enjoy 2 other resorts along your walks as they are affiliated with the Melia. But really it is the staff we feel are the greatest asset to the resort. They are warm, friendly and helpful. They will always try to meet with a request you might make.

Tryp Cayo Coco: amazing resort!

our family with 2 teenagers stayed at the Trp Cayo Coco during march break 2014. we all had an amazing time! beautiful beach, amazing staff, and great food! the room was not fancy but spacious and clean. we will certainly return!

Hotel Mojito: Poor quality

Vero old and fatigued, employees try but cannot make shine an old building! Really could be renovated and make stay more pleasant. Some bed sheets were even cleaned, still have blood marks. Many Mosquitos everywhere. Our friends daughter had to see the doctor and pay $$$ for this reason. Again rooms we're smelling mild, walls fall apart.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Beautiful resort very clean and beautiful grounds

Great resort very friendly staff , food was great . Could have more games and entertainment but because it's so new they might have that in the future. Will be visiting again .Beach was very nice and clean.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Amazing resort

Had an amazing time. The staff was Amazing and made the stay memerable ! Thank you to Ary, julienne and especially Gerald who made this stay amazing ! Would highly recommend this hotel. The beaches are a beautiful site. !!

Melia Cayo Coco: Good hotel

The hotel has beautiful scenery, grounds are nice, staff is friendly, however the hotel is getting old and at my recent visit they start cutting down on: selection of food is not as good as 2 years ago, towers are coarse and sometimes plates are dirty. The rooms are clean but need a major upgrade. The entertainment is excellent

Hotel Camino del Mar: Wonderfull resort!!

The hotel is great ,beach is nice... Staff are friendly.. Evening event everyday..elegance club is way better compare to regular.. Just pay little more ( like $50 more) it will save you alot and it will give you 1 wine and a smooth rum you will ever drink..plus towel for beach include you will not get it in the club house anymore... Lots of sports.. Drink all you can.. Try to get room # 1230 it is the best room.. No problem at all.. And one tip bring mosquito repelant lotion is better than spray [... read more] trust me.. Food is ordinary.. Your not in 1st class country.. But aleast its decent.. Bring your own cup to bring your cocktail anyware.. No elavetor so old people ask for ground floor ..

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: The Okay Resort

The ground were really nice, all the rooms circling the pools. However no beach view un less you were on the top floor. Bar service was not very good. Bedrooms were large and very nice. The staff were nice.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Totally worth it

Great resort, nicely organized bus pick up from the airport and easy check in process. Plan to spend at least an hour lining up the next morning to book your restaurant reservations. It's a pain but very worthwhile as you will get very tired of the buffet food if you don't have any a la carte meals to mix it up. Beach is great, very well maintained - just remember to bring your snorkel gear so you can see the fish at the reefs. The resort has 2 pools; there is one quiet pool and a larger one in  [... read more]the main area of the hotel. The larger pool can get old very fast as this is where they have activities throughout the day which basically comprises someone yelling into a microphone and lots and lots of music by Pitbull inbetween. The food is totally fine - I mean you're in a tropical country on an island so if you're going to complain when they run out of bacon then maybe you should stay on your couch. They have fresh fruit (papaya, guava, canteloupe, pineapple) and you can have them make it into a smoothie or eat it as is. There is a nice mix of Cuban food and some North American food but again, you're on vacation, live a little and try some local food! As I mentioned before, the buffet can get quite repetitive so do try the restaurants - mainly the Cuban, Seafood and BBQ restaurants while the Italian was quite disappointing in my opinion. The absolute must do is visiting the local restaurant Lenny's. Just grab a cab at the front of the hotel - it will cost you about 20 CUC and you will arrive at a small outdoor restaurant overlooking the ocean. The view is spectacular and the food is quite possibly the best seafood I've ever had. For 15 CUC you get a lobster tail, fish, shrimp, rice and salad. I would go back to Cayo Coco just to eat at Lenny's. In summary, this place is worth it. The hotel is clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly and the beach is clear and not overcrowded. If you want a 5 star luxury hotel with room service and 2000 thread count bedding then you should probably just stay in a big city in the developed world. But if you want a relaxing trip to a beautiful beach with a dose of Latin culture then definitely try this place out.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Pestana Resort Cayo Coco

I was impressed the first time I stayed here by the quality of the food, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. The 2nd time was even better. I was pampered and treated extremely well. The beach and pool were wonderful and extemely clean. The staff were always attentive and very friendly. The restaurant buffet was well-stocked and was veried enough to keep your interest in the kinds of meat, fish, poultry and seafood. I will be attending this resort again.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Would never go back!!

Just spent a week there with my 2 children, from June 20 to 27. The reception service was nothing spectacular and information given was not consistent. (When a la carte is open, buffet will be closed - no, says another and no reservations are required. Not true! We were turned away one evening and yet there were only 5 tables of guests!) The guest services people were seldom available. Because there were so few guests, the buffet was repetitive and I am sure leftovers were served all week! Note  [... read more]to chef: maybe cook the bacon in the morning, it barely looked like it had touched a grill! The al la carte restaurant, when open, was tasteless. The snack bar had fries, always, and at times sandwiches, hot dogs and pork hamburgers. The wooden paths were in disrepair (I fell through a plank of wood by the stairs of the beach bar). The rock paths and ceramic paths were in much need of tlc. The kids park is outdated and dangerously in need of repair. The turtle and fish ponds were so murky that there was only one day we could see them. The entertainment in the day was almost non existent. There was only entertainment for the kids on Thursday evening and lasted barely 30 minutes. The lobby bar staff was amazing, even to the kids, with the exception of Friday the 27th. It was a different bartender and the lobby was full due to the bad weather. Yoima, who works the kids club, was out sick until Thursday, so my kids were disappointed (they wanted to go back there just because of her). There was no apparent replacement. My son loved the rapport with both Aliosmy and Alexis at the buffet each morning. The beach could have been better cleaned every morning, but I imagine the hardworking guys on the beach do the best with what they have. To sum it up, food was horrible, even for Cuba, staff could use some people skills, drinks were good (how could they not be, Santero dark, yum...) don't go there for the entertainment. Next time I will go back to hotel Tryp. (Keep in mind, this was my 5th trip to Cuba in under 3 years, some with and some without my kids)

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: The beach is awesome!!!

The beach and the grounds are amazing, rooms are basic, but clear, need some plumbing repairs. Washrooms are a bit smelly and the bathroom tissue is not always available. Service and food could be better, use the beach snack bar if you are tired of buffet food. After some complains about the quality of food at the buffet, the variety and the quality of food has improved, so do not afraid to complain about food. The resort is lacking entertainment for kids; there was an entertainer Jamilka-so unpleasant person, and she entertained kids as she was doing some chores, not having fun; also, she refused to continue with the program one day, stating that there were not enough kids, even though, few kids were participating...soo rude! A-la-carte is very primitive. Seems too many cons...but, hey gays, beach compensates for everything! We went there for the beach and were satisfied.
