Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great resort
Enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were lovely. Beach was soft white and went on forever. Staff was fabulous. Food was good for Cuba. Pastries were fantastic. Cigar lounge was fun. All in all a great trip. (tends to be windy here so be prepared)
Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Not clean and bad mangement
The management of this hotel is very bad. Customer service is literally non-existent. The buffet was full of flies at all times and there was a continuous smell of sewage. When we tried to go eat outside we were told that we are not allowed. We asked to talk to a manager and he/she never came. We never had enough towels in the room (1 for 2 people) and we had to ask multiple times to receive a second one. Water would not evacuate in the shower and it was never taken care of. The only pos [... read more]
Hotel Bella Costa: Great location
The hotel needs updating but the location and people are great. Food was better then some cuba resorts we have been at. The grounds are clean and the beach is amazing. Rooms definitely need to be renovated but did not spoil our trip after all we were only in our room to sleep. Overall I would recommend this resort but keep in mind this is Cuba not Dominican or Mexico. Thank you to everyone who made our stay enjoyable.
Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort
Hotel grounds were nice, beds were comfortable, some staff were great and others weren’t especially since they did not speak English, Buffett did not have many options for breakfast, lunch or dinner! TOO many flys in buffet like discusting as they landed on EVERYTHING! My first time in Cuba and was not very happy!
Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Good to finally travel
Hotel is rated 5 star and has many many great reviews, I think mostly from return guests who seem to love the place. This was our 9th trip to Cuba and will be are last, we did say that after 8th. Things that stand out that make us not want to return. NO shade at the quiet pool, both pools were missing many of the shade cabanas, they were never replaced as you can see the footings. NO vodka for most days, NO clean towels in room or beach towels for many days and worst was the 630pm truck dri [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Overall good stay
Just got back from our trip- highlight of our stay is the beach, immagine best beach ever and this one is better! Great service at the beach getting lounge chairs, drinks. Starfish sighting, snorkeling galore. Resort is outdated with minimal maintenance, you can see the resort and the country is recovering from shit downs, from training of personel to food options. Lack of food or choices of food was the biggest shocker for us. We been to Cuba a different resort many times one never goes there f [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach
Good value. Food was typical for Cuba. Can’t understand why no onions or garlic in the food. Very odd since they grow it in abundance in Cuba. Hubby got sick and doctor was amazing. Very helpful. No charge. Curious to know what made hubby sick - food at buffet?
Grand Memories Varadero: Okay-ish resort
Was nice to get away, that being said resort ran out of many things such as :beer, wine, cola, hamburgers, beef, fries, toilet paper. Service was lackluster for the most part, a few bar tenders and servers were great others not so much. Resort was clean, but no toilet paper or toilet seats in the restrooms.
Melia Cayo Coco: Beautiful beach, friendly staff, good food
Room 3 star, rooms are old but clean. Broken toilet seat was repaired within 1/2 day. Twice we lost water pressure so we could not shower. Sliding doors were broken. Bed was very firm but good. Beach 4.5 star, beautiful sand. Beautiful bay 0.5km down beach. Catamaran's (hobie cat) are very old and broken, but usable. Cuban government doesnt maintain them. They desperately need fiberglass resin and any parts for a 15 foot hobie (jib sheets, sail repair kits, forestay, bridle wires, any cables [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Incredible people and amazing beach
We have stayed at Memories Flamenco for 3 weeks (April 1-April 22, 2022!!! Yes, I know, sounds like a very extensive vacation:) it was long overdue, so we decided, why not?! We travelled as group of 4 (with 2 small kids under age of 7) and were later joined by 3 more family members, (they stayed for a shorter period of time). First of all, Cuba has been through very tough times due to Covid as traveling was significantly reduced + frequent hurricanes, so I think people need to be understanding [... read more]
Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great resort!
Small beautiful resort ! Very nice beach . Impressive team from the gardener, servers up to general manager ( I met her at 6 am on the beach organizing beach chairs supplies when the hotel was full occupied) Excellent food and patisserie. I would return in a heartbeat!
Playa Costa Verde: 1st Time at this Resort
We have traveled to Holguin many times. We usually stay at the cheapest resort available because we are more interested in seeing friends instead of enjoying the resort. It is a smaller resort, everyone gets to know you over the span of a week, if you like that experience this resort is for you. The pool area is nice the beach is great. It is in a bay and well protected, on a windy day the ocean is still calm. I would recommend water shoes as it is rocky getting into the ocean in most places. [... read more]
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Lovely Resort
Nice, pleasant vacation spot. Easy size to access all the amenities, staff are very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Rooms are ok, could use a bit of updating but due to current conditions it is difficult to get necessary materials in Cuba. This was my second visit to memories caribe and I would definitely return
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Absolutely amazing!
We had such a great experience here and we'll definitely go back. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The view was incredible. The beach, pools, grounds, everything was beautiful. Staff were super!
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome
What can I say, if you are looking for an adult only vacations, this is it. Private beach, food was excellent, pool, butler, etc…Loved it, recommend it and would go back again. The staff was so friendly and so helpful.
Melia Las Dunas: Hotel review
The hotel was great, staff very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was lacking was the food, It was all the same everyday. The beaches were clean and the gardens were beautiful. the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
Gran Muthu Imperial: Disappointed in the staff
While the resort was very nice, clean and well kept, the staff in our opinion may want to remember that we are their guests and maybe remember that you have to acknowledge your guests. On NUMEROUS occasions we had to wait for any inter-reaction because they were so busy talking to each other … in the dining room trying to get a glass of water to go with our meal, or a drink at the bar.
Don Lino Hotel: Interesting resort!
All Cuban employees of the hotel follow Covid protocol, wear masks everywhere, even outside. Masks have to be worn by all guests in the dining room, except when eating. Resort has been renovated and enlarged, includes several children playgrounds. Several smaller sandy beaches with corals, it is good to wear shoes for water. Trees near the main beach provide shade. NO LIFE GUARD ON THE BEACH, ONLY AT THE POOL! Covered structure with tables and chairs near the beach provides shade. Ma [... read more]
Iberostar Coral Holguin: Amazing adults only side
We really loved the coral level of the iberostar holguin it was very clean and quiet great staff not so much when we visited the family part of the resort they had the ala carte and all the entertainment I would not recommend sending families there right now at this point we needed to use the washrooms there they were so dirty and that side was full of cuban people it’s like they don’t respect the hotel as well I met several people staying at our side of the hotel that have stayed at the n [... read more]
Hotel Playa Paraiso: Playa Fun
Please educate yourself about Cuba prior to traveling. Our resort was limited on handing out water bottles, sometimes you had to take the back off the toilet to flush, food was ok, no beer in your room fridge. These are issues consistent with traveling to Cuba. Otherwise, you get an amazing beach, moderate facilities, and an amazing trip. The staff may be interpreted as stand-off'sh, but once you show them that your not an idiot, they are awesome.
