Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Needs some improvement since my first visit 6-7 years ago

Our first contact, being the front desk employees, didn't provide much welcoming. The Hotel does not exchange money on their property and our inquiry as to where we could do money exchange was not answered. Other than an upgraded water system, the oceanfront room we had was in need of upgrading. Was unable to use the safe as it would not open. When we told the front desk, she advised us to use our room key. I can't speak about other safes on the property, but ours was not the type to be use [... read more]d with a room key. Other than on the day of check-in, bottled water was never supplied to our room during our one week stay. For the first four days of our stay (Sunday through Wednesday), no wine was available for lunch or dinner, or at the bars. Coincidently, when inspectors were on the property (for star rating inspection) Thursday through Saturday, the bar was fully stocked and wine was available with meals. The staple at lunch or dinner was chicken or pork. When inspectors arrived on Thursday, they added lamb chops as a selection, however, they were so tough, I couldn't eat them. Not even a bite. Much the same with bacon at breakfast time. When the inspectors were there, it suddenly became available. Perhaps some of the issues with the bar and dining room may be a 'supply' issue ?? The beach was great, as was the pool. This property may require a better 'hands-on' with a good manager. The manager back 6-7 years ago was great.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful vacation

The hotel was clean, well maintained, staff friendly. Food was good considering that some items are not attainable to them. Did not like that we could only add an hour to our check out time and it cost extra, if you have a late check in you should have a late check out. Rooms were not usually cleaned until later afternoon anyways.

Club Kawama: The best staff in Cuba

Kawana has the best beach I have ever been to. The hotel is older and dated but has some amazing architecture. We had a room on the ocean. Very comfortable. Due to COVID there were some issues getting some supplies but we made the best of it. The staff go above and beyond to try to make your vacation the best. I will be returning next year for sure. Met some amazing new friends.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Such Wonderful Staff

We love this place so much. The staff are so friendly and work so hard to make sure you’re happy with your vacation. We noticed a few shortages this trip, compared to pre-Covid, but nothing that really affected the quality of our stay. The Covid protocol was adhered to by the staff and guests, and I felt very safe there. The beach is fabulous, our room was clean, and the grounds were gorgeous. We will definitely go back again.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not the same

My family went to Memories 4 years ago. We liked it a lot so decided to go back this year. It was not the same. We were told that the government now runs it and it was somehow let to run down. Never enough bath towels, water bottles or toilet paper in the room. The pool bar and beach bar ran out of alcohol?!? The food was, well still to be expected in Cuba but much fewer options. They ran out of food at the beach grill. Only once did they have hamburgers to pick up at that grill. Gran Muthu Imperial: Trip April 2022

My friend and I went to the Grand Muthu Imperial April 10-17 this year. 2 girls that work together to hang out and relax. We had a great time. Rooms were clean, service great. We were entertained and the staff was very friendly! The food was good, always something to choose from. They have the best roasted pumpkin! Omg and their ice cream! We had a great stay at the Imperial!

Melia Las Dunas: Great resort!

Territory: very big, spacious and beautiful, well maintained Lobby: huge and beautiful, you can spend your whole day in there :) Beach: very good, but it required a bit more shade shelters, not enough currently, sometimes we were unable to find a place in a shade Pool: very good but also needs a bit more shade shelters Restaurants: excellent, lots of room and tables Food: pretty good, I was totally happy with the selection and quality Entertainment: very good

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Lacked liquor, food and activities

Grand memories Varadero was a very clean resort. People were courteous but the resort had no wine, no beer, no fries, no different menus. We booked an excursion and they would only accept cash and that was through Armando at sunwing and I had brought enough money for tips on the resort and tips on excursions but having had paid cash for extras on the excursions was a downfall for the staff since i had minimal cash left, especially when it was made through Sunwing. I was supposed to have a butler everyday but I fired the butler Rener cuz he was useless and eventually got Melitza who was excellent with reservations but there was still a lack of liquor and the menus were all the same. I had to purchase my own wine at the resort shop for an expensive price. Very disappointed that this was supposed to be all inclusive and I wish I would have known ahead of time that they had a lack of supplies. I won't be going back to Grand memories I was highly disappointed. Also the seats on sunwing were like sitting on a bar of steel.. They should stuff their seats or upgrade the plane. This was the most uncomfortable ride ever. I will be booking with Air Canada from now on.

Carisol los Corales: Great for the money.

Very clean hotel. The grounds are beautiful. The food for cuba was great. Rooms were very clean but tired. For the most part the staff was great. I would recommend this hotel. Lost my bags first day. The hotel tracked them down. When I received my bags same night they were untouched. Nice to see that honestly

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: A wonderful week!!

This was our first time in Cayo Coco. The resort was perfect, the food was good, drink were good and the beach was simply amazing!!! After not traveling for 2 years, this resort was exactly what we were looking for… A nice relaxing vacation with a beautiful beach and wonderful staff!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Perfect hospitality

I chose this resort based on others review, but honestly it was more than my expectation and the rate I found. Although I can mention food as one of the weaknesses but other strong points like clean, beautiful and amazing invironment, nice, professional and friendly staff, various events, can eliniminate just a couple small things. Food that I mentioned was also good in some restaurants but in general can affect my rating a bit. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories caribe Cayo coco

We were ther in January, 2020 and march 2022. We found that quite a bit changed since our last visit. The shows although still good we’re not they use to be. We found the food was ok but really lacking variety. The staff was still exceptional and helpful. The resort ran out of draft but provided cans, not quite as cold. They put nespresso coffee machines in the rooms but did not provide the coffee needed for them. Our room was fine but our friends did not have hot water, and our other friend [... read more] did not have more than a trickle of water in the bathroom sink, also his air conditioning was warm at best. They did not report these things to the front desk. I was disappointed that the churro machine was not operating and that we had the same beach towel all week as did all other guests. I got chewed alive by mats and sand flees, could not go to the beach or sit out on the deck. Fly’s were pretty thick also, I don’t think they are spraying as much. I get bites everywhere I travel but this was bad. Many people were covered from head to toe with big red marks. The trip home was a nightmare with Sunwing. Would not have been as bad had they communicated with us. 6 and a half hours at airport.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Amazing staff, incredible experience and relaxing resort

The resort is super clean, all bars, snack bars and buffet areas are beyond expectations, even with covid protocols. Love this place and staff Pool is spectacular, rooms clean, food is good, if your not expecting unrealistic choices. Very happy

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: The Best Resort

My husband & I have been to Cuba annually since 2015. With exception for the past 2 years. Of all the hotels we have visited, Iberostar is the best by far. Such a quaint resort and close to all amenities. Staff is awesome and accomodating. Food is plentiful. Must try the grilled Lobster. Highly recommend visiting Playa Pilar. Will definetly be coming back.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok resort

Resort was ok, 3 stars. Our room in building 39 was great - really comfortable bed and pillows, air con worked great! Beach was beautiful and plenty of sun beds available. Food was repetitive and bland but you don't go to Cuba for the food. The grounds were ok, not much to look at. The entertainment was just ok, nothing special. We went there to relax in the sun so mission accomplished but we will not return.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great first trip at MCC

This was our first trip to the Melia Cayo Coco. It lived up to the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. Although small (250 rooms), and somewhat dated, it was well staffed, with amazing service. Plenty of options to eat with three A La Cartes, buffet, beach restaurant and the 24 hour poolside snack bar. The rooms were spacious and clean. We hope to return in the fall.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great Resort

Can't say anything negative about this resort. The food was good and the service excellant. The Cubans were very strict about masking and Covid procedures while inside. However, the tourists, about 95% Canadians were very lax when they they could be and both my wife and I tested positive for Covid upon our return to Canada.

Melia Cayo Coco: Love this resort!

The Melia Cayo Coco didn't disappoint. If you are looking for a small adults only resort this is should be on your list of resorts to visit. On top of the clean and convenient layout, the amazing beach, with the best food we have had in Cuba, the staff make this resort the best in all of Cuba. If you are looking for a late night party location, this is not the best option for you.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Melia Peninsula Varadero

We had a great stay at this resort. This resort is small in size and everything is close by. The rooms are simple and clean and all have hot water and an air conditioner. We stayed right in front of the only swimming pool and the snack bar. Food-wise was a limited choice, as many products are not available in Cuba; for example, the snack bar had limited food such as hamburgers, fries, tuna sandwitches and hotdogs but, it run out of food sometimes, and the other restaurants were kind of recycling [... read more] the other food with some creative food recipe choices. Staff are respectful and caring and they are welcoming. The grounds are kept clean, the beach is amazing, and it has sufficient chairs for everyone. They offer transportation with your package, and that is very helpful. There was some entertainment, such as pool Zumba, water polo and dance classes. My only suggestion is to try to showcase their culture a bit more, there were a lot of international themes, but most people coming are from different parts of Europe and America, and it would be nice to see to learn about the culture of Cuba. Drinks the beer was nice, and rum with coke, besides that, drinks were not that great. Overall, I give the resort 3 stars, as I have been to others that are better maintained, and have better food choices.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Won’t go back

The initial impression soured the whole experience. We arrived too early to check in which was made abundantly clear. We were waved off to find our own way to the buffet or beach. When we finally got to check in, we had to wait 20 minutes while the front desk rang a little bell. We had to ask for the bus boy to be called and then we loaded our own bags onto the wagon. I didn’t, I g [... read more]ot back on the trolly and saw him galavanting around to see his friends before we returned to get a new key card. We were not given the rooms we requested and were told that there could be no moving. Frankly, if I could’ve gotten back on the plane, I would have, I was that angry. There was no information given ever about the facilities of the hotel: no map, no times for restaurants, nothing. The official explanation was Covid, even though paper was regularly passed around by people who didn’t wear gloves. We were told to download information from the website despite the fact that Wi-Fi didn’t work. We relied on information from other guests. The resort was very badly sign posted, a problem for a sprawling resort. Unfortunate because it is actually a nice resort. Well-maintained. Clean. The lack of communication and the lack of any effort to communicate made it difficult. They could’ve laminated a map for us to take pictures of. An easel could’ve reported which restaurants were open and closed, We were constantly left guessing. We were told things were open when they weren’t. There were no managers wandering around to talk to. The overall impression was of a badly organized facility.
