Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Perfect Retreat & Reconnect Spot

I booked this hotel for my daughter and my son-in-law as a getaway during a busy time of life – buried in work with three little children. It was the perfect refresh, relax and reconnect experience for them. Perfect.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: excellent resort

everything-food, beach, room excellent, only disappointment was 2 plus hr delay at Punta Cana airport due to poor Sunwing management of situation, there was at least 8 sunnwng reps there but no one coordinating anything

Cayo Levantado Resort: Everything and more! The luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, Samaná ( Bacardi Island)

We recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at this beautiful location. In all our life, it was the best place we ever stayed at! We flew into Samaná from Montreal and it was seamless. After a 45 minute bus ride from the airport we arrived at the check in on the mainland where we received our room allocation,etc. Initially we were SO disappointed to receive a room in the main building rather than one of the surrounding villa rooms that we had requested. Everything we experienced was so wonderful......the food, the beaches, the pools, the manicured gardens, the sound of the waves and the birds, the smiling, happy faces of every employee, who couldn’t do enough to make each moment special......especially Anthony ( hope your exams were successful) and Gabriel ( surely he was the manager/owner of the whole resort........if not, he should be!!) At this point in our life we will probably never return ( not that we wouldn’t want to in a heartbeat) but, be assured we have already recommended this little paradise to everyone we know💜

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana - not up to expectation

10 of us stayed in the Level area of this resort for 7 days and 4 stayed for 14 days total starting November 8th, 2019. We have been to this resort before and some of us found the food less than before. The buffet was not good (except deserts) and the Steakhouse was atrocious, the service there was terrible and the orders were all mixed up both times we went there (staff needs to learn to serve properly). Basically only 1 table of each BJ, poker, roulette. craps. Few slots for such a big resort. Rides to the Level area were excellent first week but limited 2nd week. No known reason. Likely will not return to this resort for the price or value.

Riu Bambu: Wonderful holiday

My husband and I visited the riu bambu Nov 14th to 21st 2019. This is a very lovely hotel rooms were great beach was superb! We have been to the riu hotels many times in the past and always found them to be good resorts. If I had anything negative to say about the resort the only thing would be that the beds were like sleeping on a slab of wood. Very hard!

Impressive Punta Cana: Beautiful Beach!

Half an hour from the airport. Check in was fast. We were asked if we wanted to upgrade. They started at $500 for our 10 day trip...he finally finally asked if we would pay $300 and when we said no he asked us what we would pay. Another couple who checked in at the same time paid over $300 US. Not much difference...they had a private area on the beach, but had a longer walk to the bar, an ocean view and beer in their fridge. We were in building 16 overlooking the Japanese restaurant.My husband h [... read more]as knee problems so our location was excellent as we were close to the buffet and lobby. Our room was great. Housekeeping always had our room done in the morning. We always hung our towels to dry, but often they were replaced with new ones. Face cloths were not provided which is not unusual so we brought our own. We ate most of our meals at the buffet. We could always find something to eat. Although after 10 days we did get tired of the food. Staff were always on the move but they seemed very unorganized. Their manager was always frowning and bossing them around. It seemed that the manager's priority was to ensure the dirty dishes were removed from the tables not in serving coffee, water or wine. We were also told that the waiters were given direction to only pour very small amounts of wine...even said that they would get in trouble if caught by their manager. The wine was terrible, but at the 4 star resorts it's what I expect. The beach was beautiful. No seaweed, but some small roots from palm trees down the beach that had blown over and into the water. If you like to walk the beach, you could go in both directions. I went half an hour out and back and could have gone even further. Pizza at the beach was great. Gym was very well equipped. Never more than 5 people there. Our flight home was cancelled. West Jet moved us to the Barcelo Palace for a night. Beautiful, huge resort. I felt that WJ did us well. Overall the size of the resort was perfect. The grounds were beautiful. We paid less than $1300 each for 10 days, which I felt was a great value.

Sanctuary Cap Cana Luxury Collection Adults Resort: Great resort

Very nice resort with well illuminated paths. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Plenty of beach seating although the beach is a little rocky. Food was very good at the restaurants but was usually cold at the beach unless you had a hamburger cooked while you wait. Would definitely go back.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Vacation!!

The resort is beautiful, by far the prettiest along the stretch of beach. Really enjoyed the Vintage club that you have access to with the Premium Pkg. Would highly recommend upgrading! There were a couple issues that arose but the resort was quick to accommodate and were always friendly throughout the entire stay. We loved our private concierge and waiter and will definitely be coming back to this resort!!

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Puntacana impressive premium resort

Went to Punta Cana last week. Stayed at the Impressive Premium resort and had a great time. Hotel and room was always clean. Food was great, lots of variety. Staff was kind and respectful. The beach is not as clean as other locations (ie: Cuba) but it was decent. Daily Entertainment was decent. Watch out for excursions half price sale, the catch is that you have to go listen to a 90 min sale pitch on vacation packages, and there is lots going around. Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Not the best vacation

To start, the hotel was over sold so that did not help things. When we arrived, nobody took our luggage and we did not receive a drink or cloth as we have at previous resorts where we stayed. The service lacked. Every time we requested a drink (we had to go the bar everytime as there was no beach or pool service) we felt as if we were a pain requesting drinks. The only thing good about the resort was our swimup room.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Awesome Getaway!

We went to Barcelo Bavaro Beach as a couple and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I hadn’t been to an all inclusive before and my partner had only been one other time. The resort was the perfect size for us. Staff were super friendly and our room was very clean upon arrival. We stayed in building two which is in very close distance to the beach, pool, and entertainment areas. T [... read more]he beach was well maintained, we bought goggles from the gift shop, were told we wouldn’t see much sea life right off the beach, but we saw plenty of fish and a smaller sea turtle ! We headed over to the palace a few times to eat at the sports bar, but also went over a different night to check out the casino and the disco, which to be honest we weren’t impressed with. Mainly stuck to our resort as it’s adults only and the palace seemed a little more chaotic with the amount of children. Forms of entertainment were provided every night and through out the day. One day we did a catamaran excursion which we would absolutely do again, another day we did dune buggies and zip lining, which we probably would not do again as we came there for the beach and ocean and found ourselves missing the resort. This resort is perfect for anyone wanting to get away and relax without kids, maybe do a little partying. Didn’t really seem like the type of place that younger people would go to if you wanted to really party, but we were there in November so it was more of a quieter time. Bottom line: Beach and pool are beautiful, drinks are strong, food is great and our room was clean, what more can you ask for!?

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

Very clean, friendly staff, great food, weather, all the alcartes had great food, good value for your dollar. I have been there twice, I you use a power wheelchair they now have an accesable van in Porta Plata. I will go there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

The total experience was spectacular! The room and swim up was great (along main walkway could use umbrellas for morning or afternoon sun). The food, service (Jean was great!), grounds and overall experience was impeccable. Suggestions...cross contamination is a potential problem with serving utensils at the buffet (wife is a nurse). Impressive Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Amazing place, we had very very good time.. everything was amazing, l hardly recommended. The food, the pools, the room, the beach very clean, White sand, the service, all was amazing, don't be hesitated to try it..you will love it.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Ok resort.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It is an older resort and showing its age in the rooms updates needed. Pool area and beach area clean . Hotel staff friendly , with a bit of a language barrier . We had problem things not being restocked. Dining area clean service was good. Food was fine staff great. Overall a nice resort but to large for my liking.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Mixed Feelings

I knew the resort was big when I booked it; but found it is not the kind of resort for me. I didn’t like having to take the trolley around. The grounds and rooms are very well kept. The service was poor and there is a language barrier.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Amazing trip

The hotel was wonderful with beautiful trees,pools around the hotel.Delicious buffet and very humble services.It was my first experience at resort and we had lots of fun.Me and my family enjoyed the buffet and shops at the resort.Kids enjoyed playing at the pool.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Incredible value for money

I learned of Heavens from my tripcentral agent who had been there. It exceeded even my strict expectations. Upgraded to a suite, spotless grounds, excellent food especially in the themed a la carte restaurants, no lineups for anything, very cheerful staff, plenty of beach chairs, very smooth transfers and checkin, etc. The beach can be walked for miles, much of it undeveloped especially to the east - very pleasant. Minimal seaweed problem, and workers clean up what there is of it each morning. [... read more] I knew this would be good when I read the TripAdviser and Booking.com reviews - virtually nothing negative. I have nothing negative to say either. It was on a par with the Viva Wyndham Azteca in Mexico - perhaps better in view of the quieter beach and the fact that Heavens is adults only. And it was half the price even as a single. Good level of clientele - Canadians, Europeans and S. Americans. I'm going back in January and though it will be a busier time, the cost was only $300 more than in November.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Not quite what I expected.

The hotel and property were very pleasing to the eye being very sprawling with a beautiful beach and having several wonderful pools. The evening entertainment was well done and the buffet never disappointed. The room while being spacious really needed some upgrading and/or maintenance. While I was showering the entire shower component fell off the wall and nearly impaled me in the tub. The AC was never sufficient to cool the room enough and the lightbulbs in the room were so dim that it was i [... read more]mpossible to read there in the evening or any time for that matter. The biggest problem, however, was BUGS. I am not sure if there were bedbugs, or if it was some other insect lurking around, but I got massive bites which necessitated a trip to my doctor upon my return home. This put a large damper on my holiday and I would never trust returning to this resort a second time.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Second time around and still great

The staff at this resort is stellar! They are so genuinely happy and a pleasure to be around. The facilities are very clean and comfortable and the beach and ocean are spectacular. The beach vendors are kind very respectful but the on site vendors were sometimes a little aggressive. It was a slow time so I am sure that they were really hoping for more sales. We are thinking of returning next year and trying the sunclub. Many thanks to all!
