Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Very nice resort.

Very nice resort but the lawn was dug up and there was a water leak they were trying to fix all week but never got any better. The maids were not very friendly unlike other resorts I have stayed at before. Food was very good and a la carte restsurants were excellent. Could not get a coffee at the adult resort before 630 had to walk 20 minutes to the other side which had a bar open 24 hours. Should have been something open at the adult side too.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Fun Resort

The hotel, staff, food, grounds were all fantastic. I'm not one to complain about being on vacation. Some restaurants were closed during the evening. So we just ate at Spoon the buffet. There was a party pool and quiet pool. I enjoyed the entertainment. I found the staff to be extremely friendly. I would recommend.

Excellence El Carmen: Great Resort...but still room for improvement

We just got back from 7 days at the Excellence El Carmen. We have previously stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujeres on 2 occasions. The resort is beautiful! It is well laid out with nothing too far of a walk. The beach area is gorgeous - wide with lots of soft sand. The food was great. The staff was very friendly and we had no issues with the service generally (other than a very long wait for dinner one night at the Magna). However, it was not comparable to the service at Excellence PM. [... read more] At PM they go out of their way to make you feel special - learning your name, making sure you always have a drink in your hand, coming around with little treats throughout the day and checking in to see how things are going. At EC we didn't get that same level of service. We also did not receive any of the daily fresh fruit in the room that we were supposed to, and only received petit-fours a couple of times. Aside from that, my only issue is that the pools are NOT heated. We stayed in the beach front swim up room and the pool was so cold you couldn't get into it. This was a real disappointment to me, as the sole purpose of getting the swim up room was to be able to swim in the pool!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Beautiful resort

Beautiful resort with a stunning pool. It was too windy to use the beach much but it looked nice. Service was good and there were lots of activities during the day for both adults and children. Food was great although the a la carts didn't offer much vegetarian options. The entertainment shows were fun although they start a little late for the kids (9:30). Would go back again.

Riu Republica: Riu Republica Punta Cana

Great food and customer service. Loved it. A variety of restaurants. Great entertainment. Night club. Lot's excurtions. The dolphins were my favorite. I learned how to scuba dive in tbe pool! A variety of shopping malls.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: resort grows on you

After reading a few of the reviews I did not know what to expect Now after staying there for two weeks I have very little negative to say. The staff was great, rooms were clean and done every day ( and yes a couple of times they were late ) . Food was good at buffet and a la carts. The beach was ok, sea weed was a problem and they tried hard to keep it under control . The best thing to do is to make your own opinion about the resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good experience overall

Overall we had a positive experience however having stayed at the Bahia many times over the years we have noticed they are not maintaining their suites very well. Bath tubs don’t hold water, showers don’t work well. Food at the buffet has improved although 2 of our party of 4 got sick during our stay

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

The Majestic Elegance in a amazing resort with amazing staff that treat you like family. The staff actually get to know you and always are smiling and happy to greet you A+ for the staff. The grounds around the resort are beautiful and really well cared for. The food is spectacular, never had a issue the 7 days we were there. Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Loved Our Stay!

My Husband and I just got back from a week vacation. Overall our stay was great with some minor issues. We booked the one bedroom Mirage Club room. WHAT WE LOVED: -Service-all employees regardless of their position were friendly and hard workers who take pride in what they do. This is one of the areas that make this resort and why we would definitely come back. Anything you would request would come quickly. -Resort grounds-Beautiful, well manicured and super clean. Nice layout.  [... read more]-A La Cartes - were excellent. Steak a la carte was in a very cool setting. No reservations needed at the Steak and Italian which was nice. Buffet and seaside buffet- selection was great/food temps were pretty well maintained and had a great selection of foods. Also well stocked...if something was low it was refilled quickly. -O.J...delicious!! -Rooms-Large and modern. Fantastic balcony with hot tub. Huge walk-in shower. Lots of closet and storage space. Two bathrooms was great! Always cleaned in the morning before our return from the beach. Beds -were the most comfortable we have slepted on in the Caribbean. Also the pillow menu is nice option, although we did not use it. -Beach-super clean, great for long walks, always had loungers and bali beds (super comfortable) available. Friendly staff. -Cafe in the square-great coffee and desserts!!! Milkshakes too..plus this was available all day and night. -Sports bar-nice place to relax and catch up on sports -Entertainment-some nights were just ok and others were very good. Some talented dancers and singers. The band was great too. -Butler service-Omar and Louis: we really didn't use their service much but it was nice to know there was always someone to see how your stay is going and there if you needed them. They made sure to connect with us everyday and would even search for us on the beach. Very professional. Super nice guys! -Martini bar- Great service and great martinis!! -Pools-kepted cleaned. Always plenty of towels available throughout the resort. Again lots of loungers and bali beds available at any time of the day. Water temp was a little on the cool side. -Valentine's Day- special t-shirts were left in our rooms along with Chocolates...a nice surprise. The resort was decorated nicely and flowers were given to all the ladies. Hamburger carte by the pool- Great burgers with fixings, fries and hotdogs. Available in the afternoon for a couple hours. Welcome gifts: golf shirt and hat in a carry bag-nice quality. We noticed ppl wearing these so I asked if they were in the resort for us to purchase. Our Butler Louis then realized at that point that we were missed because of our late check-in time but made sure we received them that day. Bracelets: I loved that these were not your typically hard plastic band. They look so much better and were comfortable to wear. A FEW ISSUES WE HAD: Check-in- we arrived at midnight. My husband, I and another couple were met in the lobby with staff and told to go into the club reception area. We all were confused that no one was their to give us our room info. After 5 mins or so an employee hurried in explaining he just ran from wherever he was, gave us our info and showed us to our rooms. No cool cloth or welcome drink but we were told we can help ourselves to the area where there was some snacks but there really wasn't much time. -A la cart reservations- Arrived on Saturday at midnight and not sure who our butler was so we decided Sunday morning after our Transat meeting to make a couple reservations on our own. We asked a young, tall, slender dark skin gentleman at the club reception desk if we could make them there. He said Wednesday and Friday at 7:15 was available-(this was the only booking time he offered us). Since he did not hand us a paper with the confirmation on it (which I thought was odd), I asked for a paper and pen but my Husband said don't worry about it, he would remember. Wednesday came and the Japanese a la carte didn't not have any reservations for us. They asked us for our confirmation and we said we were not given any. Fortunately they were still able to seat us. The Friday reservation was also not made, leaving us to ask our Butler Omar to get another one which he did but it was a much later time. -Room location- We were in building #7 so furthest away from the beach which wasn't a problem because we certainly needed the exercise with all the food we ate but we were disappointed to be facing the outside of the resort which meant we looked out towards the Royalton rooms. We noticed if you were a return guest or were celebrating a birthday/anniversary/honeymoon (lots of banners were on the doors) those guest were more likely to get rooms facing the pool and closer to the beach. Mini Bar-A few times we had to ask for coffee, cream, chips and water. The Cons I listed were not a huge deal to us and certainly did not ruin any part of our stay but just wanted to point them out. We for sure would return to this resort and recommend it to others. The employees and the service they provided made us feel special. Thank you Majestic! Well done!!

Riu Republica: Fun Resort

First time at an Adult Only resort. It was fabulous. Food amazing, had something for everyone. Bar was great! I found most of the staff did not speak english except for the bartenders and receptionist, so this was a bit of a challenge, but did not hamper my vacation. The beach is awesome, lots of loungers, the water is a little choppy, red flag everyday during Jan to Feb 2018, you can still swim, but at your own risk. The lifeguards are very attentive and watch out for guests while in the o [... read more]cean should they go too far. The pools, WOW, there are approximately 6 and they are all great, again, something for everyone. I would recommend that management turn up the music a that the beach pool, there are many young guests, including me, and I am sure they would appreciate it. The evening entertainment such as the nightly shows, was okay, nothing spectacular. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, it was sad to leave. We would return definitely :)

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Great

It was perfect. Great room comfort, location on ocean front, excellent staff service and all the food and drink choices you would ever want. Couldn’t think of any negatives. Weather co-operated by raining mostly at night. Loved the bracelet key fob. Never had to worry about carrying a key.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Amazing resort and remarquable staff.

Tout était parfait! la seul chose que nous n'avons pas aimé c'est l'accueil 2 heures avant d'avoir notre chambre parce qu'il essayait de nous faire payer du surplus pour nous placer dans une chambre exécutive (VIP), tout c'est bien terminé sans payer de frais supplémentaire.

Riu Republica: Average Riu resort

We just stayed at the Riu Republica in Punta Cana. The rooms were clean, no bugs at all. The beach was nice, you could walk for miles down the beach if you so desired, the ocean was rough which made it fun to play in the waves (if you are a good swimmer). The food was very average, the buffet was decent, nothing special about the specialty restaurants.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: It was an ok resort

The grounds were beautiful but the staff didn’t know what they were doing when we checked in We got a key to a room where people were in already and we had to walk back to the lobby and try to get another room. The food was ok and would have been good if they would have cooked it all the way. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing resort

All the facility are perfect, the pool was perfect ,room and rom service was great just there wasn’t great by the beach cus all was for privilege club , entertainment was really great , food was good but fruit wasn’t that great and fresh and bad part was the flight to get back to Canada oh my God was awful

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: A wonderful, worry free holiday

We had an amazing time at this resort. The place is VERY well run, clean and comfortable. We were in building 2 and appreciated the 1.2 km walk to the main buffet restaurant! We have zero concerns regarding our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to others.

Nice place would recommend to friends..clean..nice staffs..enjoyed my trip..people always ready to help.. every night they have shows it was very nice all together it made an awesome trip would go back to the same resort no problem..!!!

Riu Republica: Nice Option on Bavaro Beach

The Riu Repúblic was a well maintained property with easy access to many pools/slides and Bavaro Beach. The rooms were clean and insect free. Hot water for showers was always there. Restaurants were decent and a nice change to the buffet that was adequate but lacked some citrus fruits (0ranges & Grapefruit) as well as real OJ. The Jerk Chicken bar located on the way to the beach was a nice option for lunch. The beach waters were rough but the waves added some fun in the sun. Long walks were n [... read more]ot a problem on the clean manicured sandy beaches. The gym was more than adequate if you needed to workout indoors. Outside of a few members of our group getting stomach illness and headaches etc... the overall experience was positive but the resort was definitely not a 5*.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Resort - Blau Natura Park Resort

The grounds were kept nice and clean. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great. It was very windy and rained almost every day. (No fault of the resort). The beach area was littered with seaweed on the shore. My biggest complaint would be the vendors on the beach, they kept walking back and forth trying to sell their items, it became very annoying. I was approached inside and outside the hotel by people wanting to sell me an excursion which I wasn’t interested in. At times they were a [... read more]ggressive in their sales pitch, I just wanted to relax at the resort, I didn’t want to leave the resort or spend any additional money. The food was good, the drinks were good and the room was nice. The housekeeping staff cleaned the room daily and replenished the mini fridge.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Excellent Resort

This resort was very nice in every way. The food was delicious, staff very friendly and very clean. The only improvement would maybe the entertainment on some nights. I would recommend this resort to family and friends.
