Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great place, no regrets

We were there for 10 days From feb 3ard. I really have no complaints. All of the dinning was awesome. Only one that needs a reservation is the sensai and its one of those cook in front of you deals. Very good as well. The beef is very good there and I would recommend the Chateau Briand. its a little extra $ but worth it . Blue moon.. The buffet is also very good but can be a bit noisy timing is important here eat early in the morning they open at 6:30 am so you can grab some grub before you go  [... read more]on your early tours.and around 9 at nite. The pools are fun and they have pool parties as well. The guys at the bar are a fun bunch and no problems getting loads of drinks, and yes they come around and bring drinks as well. Beach is very nice and they try to keep all the sea weed picked up. Great for long walks I think about 4 km to Peorto Moralas , check out the nude beach on your way. Rooms were all clean and comfortable. They also have nightly entertainment it was hit and miss but still fun. Book this place and your in for a good time, CHEERS !

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Nice relaxing vacation

We spent 10 days at the Catalonia Maroma in February. The resort is extremely clean, the food is good and I highly recommend the Privilege package if you want to take full advantage of the restaurants. Overall, our only deception is that the beach was not what we expected. There was a lot of seaweed during our stay. They had teams digging enormous trenches and filling them, but I was impossible to keep up. It has nothing to do with the hotel, but it was not inviting to go swimming. Last but not least, we took a ½ day Transat excursion to Rio Secreto, a spectacular underground river, which we really enjoyed.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Great vacation at Excellence Riviera Cancun

I spent a week at Excellence Riviera Cancun in mid-January. I had a fantastic time. Good things: • First and foremost, the staff. Friendly, courteous, helpful. And I mean everyone – housekeeping, bell men, reception, gardeners, restaurant staff, management; • No wristbands; • No towel cards and no need to exchange towels. Unlimited towels are available in several locations and there are bins to dispose of them when you are done; • Adults-only – need I say more? • No reserv [... read more]ations required at the a-la-cartes. • The food was always good to great. The selection at the buffet for breakfast was incredible. • Aroma coffee shop near the lobby served very good lattes and cappuccinos. • Lots of live music. Breakfast buffet had a guitarist or saxophonist or keyboard player. Early evenings there was a different live band each day in the plaza outside the theatre. Not as good things: • Housekeeping service was at a different time every day, sometimes 10:00, sometimes 3:00 or 5:00. I was able to be as busy or as idle as I chose. There were lots of activities during the day – Spanish lessons, cooking demos, audience participation games, music trivia, bingo. I never had a problem getting a seat on the beach. I went on the bike ride to Puerto Morelos. I walked on the beach for about an hour every day. I never felt unsafe. All in all it was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend this resort.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great resort with lots to do

We had a great time at this resort. The staff were friendly, the rooms and areas were clean. There were many pools, bars and activities to do. The food was decent but you do get sick of the buffet after a while.

El Dorado Royale: Nice Relaxing Resort

This was a nice relaxing resort. It never felt crowded, as it was spread out along the ocean. You could get a shaded outdoor bed at anytime. Lots of natural palm trees provided shade everywhere. Both at the pools, and along the walkways. There was a lot of variety of food and restaurants. The house wines were decent. Premium liquors were readily available. The resort staff were genuinely friendly. More friendly than any other mexican resort that we've been to. Downfalls - The  [... read more]water at the beach was too rough for swimming or snorkeling. There is no proper disco. There are NO fresh juices offered at the resort, aside from a couple of small glasses at the breakfast buffet. That was pretty disappointing for a gourmet food resort. My husband got food poisoning at the resort. He has never been sick at any other resort in Mexico.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful resort!

Resort absolutely beautiful. Friendly staff. The rooms were very spacious and modern. The resort was very clean. Resort upgraded us to a swim out room at the Eden and we were extremely happy. Food very delicious. Loved that the a la cartes dress code for men was casual and relaxed. Plenty of a la cartes and no reservations required. Very safe environment. Nightly entertainment was awesome. Lots of activities and no need to leave the resort. The only downfall was the house wine and the Mexica [... read more]n a la carte. Overall this resort we would highly recommend! And we will be returning in the future.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great Week at the Palladium

The resort grounds were beautiful, clean and safe. White sands was particularly beautiful but much quieter than the Colonial or the Kantenah. If you want some activities I would suggest either Colonial or Kantenah, you can always go to White Sands for a more quiet day. Food was very good with many options, nice to try the different a la carte restaurants at dinner. Never any issue getting in, no real line ups. Japanese, Thai and Fish (Emilia) restaurant was very good. Ribs and More not so  [... read more]much. No real issues with food being cold which others have wrote about. Service was very good, staff was polite and we never had any issues. Rooms at the Kantenah (Jr Suite) was ok, not spectacular. Nice balcony, however pretty much all of the rooms look out at the jungle so no real view. When we first arrived the room was damp and musty, but eventually the musty smell went away. Beds were comfortable. Beach was disappointing for us. Only one area really to enter in with no rocks and manageable seaweed. The beach water line was covered with seaweed. They worked to remove this but really not feasible to keep it off the beach. Where you could enter in it was nice and we enjoyed. This was our first time in Mayan so we would suggest that the beaches in Punta Cana, Antigua, Cuba and Bermuda were all nicer. The sand was soft and nice but the seaweed and rocks in the area deterred us. Overall, we would recommend this resort it was big, international, good food and service, good entertainment at night in the colonial. Great week with our 22 & 18 year old sons, who loved it!

The Sian Ka'an at Grand Tulum: Not a true "adult only"resort....

Nice grounds..pools lovely with lots of seating but not heated..resort kept very clean..all staff helpful and friendly but lack of enough staff.ie one bar tender for lobby bar and pool bar..up to 20min to get a drink Only some rooms renovated..not like brochure says(although clean ours looked like a 4 star cuban hotel)and only few oceanfront rooms..as many folks paid for those rooms and did not get them (staff told us this happens weekly)and many rooms have no balconys. You share buffet with o [... read more]ther part of hotel so full of kids and always a line up to get into it. Adult beach is so small an area you sit on the family side..no place for morning coffee in lobby..again line up on family side for 30 min for a coffee...All restaurants were excellent and food was great in them all. For the extra price you pay for adult only..beware..you wont feel like it is one...

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Absolutely amazing service

My family and I just enjoyed 7 nights at this wonderful resort. It was a beautiful resort with wonderful service. We stayed in the preferred section. The rooms were spacious and the pool was quiet. Just what we were looking for. Our only complaint was that the pool concierge reserved all the seats at the main pool. It wasn’t until the third day that we figured out to ask him for lounge chairs and the beach was a bit rocking. We would definitely would consider going back on the future [... read more].

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Very nice

I was impressed with the service! I could get gluten free food at all the restuarants but sometime not much flavour. There is still some education needed for the waiters and cooks. The pools were nice but could not always find a lounger to lay on. The breeze off the ocean made the heat bearable.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great resort for kids and adults with beautiful lush surroundings

I would give this resort 4.5 stars if I could cause of the rocky beach, but this is a great resort regardless with many activities for kids and adults alike. The facilities were really nice, as were most of the restaurants. Water hoes are a must if you decide to go into the water on the beach. The great equalizer is the fact that we were able to use the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort for beach time and we spent most of 2 days there for the beach with access the main buffet restaurant and the bars  [... read more]by the main pool and beach. It great to have access to both resorts. The cenote and the Jade River at the Eco Resort were also really nice for swimming and snorkeling. My favourite pool was the smaller Turtuga Pool that was a little deeper and more relaxing in terms of atmosphere. All in all we really liked the resort and loved the beach at Sandos Playacar. Service was excellent and the property is amazingly lush and green with many animals and other adventures that await guests at this gem of an ecologically friendly paradise. I definitely recommend the resort if you are looking for something more and different than just a great beach resort. Thanks to all the great staff who made this a great visit to the Riviera Maya! We also booked an excursion with Soy La Pesera and that was absolutely amazing.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Resort

Pluses -fantastic food &Premium drinks -very well cared for grounds and common areas -9 pools all are lovely -nice walking trails amongst tropical foliage and wildlife (monkies etc) -room service menu included sea bass, Cornish hens, wine etc -concierge and resort staff attentive to requests -numerous restaurants to choose from. All great decor and atmosphere Minuses -drinks made with mixes not fresh fruit -entertainment held in a parking lot. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort!

This resort was amazing! The grounds were gorgeous, the pools were amazing and the staff was wonderful. The food was delicious in buffet and restaurants and the entertainment was great. We stayed in the adult only building # 83 which was perfect in every way. We especially loved the Brazilian Grill at los Corales , the Mediterraneo, and the Don Pablo. I wish the water was a little deeper at the beaches but still very nice. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great Resort

This resort was wonderful. The pools are big therefore never feeling overly busy. The a la cartes restaurants are great especially the Italian ones. The waiters and waitresss were very attentive. We would definitely go back to this resort.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Great Time !

Resort & rooms very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bartenders amazing .. loved Victor at the pool bar... Beach was ok .. windy .. lots of seaweed. Never a problem finding chairs at beach or the pool ... which was amazing . Disappointed in the A-la-Carte restaurants .. food was good but the presentation not as good as our last year visit to the Iberostar in Puerto Plata DR. and felt as if we were being rushed. Requested a room overlooking the pool .. which we got, but didn't realiz [... read more]e you couldn't see it for the "jungle view" .. it wasn't bad ... just not noted you wouldn't be able to see the pool. We stayed in block 13 ... long walk up to lobby if you didn't use the golf cart shuttles .. would request block 15 or 16 next time. Overall great place .. would go back again.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent Amenities

Very large resort that has everything you could possibly want. The size makes it a little spread out, however there is a very effective trolley transit system to shuttle you around to wherever you need to go (it's also walkable if you don't mind a bit of a hike). The grounds are extremely well kept, and the food is quite good (buffets offer a wide variety of choices, and the a la carte restaurants - that I visited - were delicious). If you want a more quiet experience, you absolutely want to choose Tulum or Akumal (both have easier access to the beach as well). All in all, a very enjoyable stay. The resort definitely lived up to expectations.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Foamy Fun

Lots of action (if you want it it). Beautifully clean resort with amazing staff. Always joking and having a good time the staff seem like they really enjoy what they do which is refreshing. The restaurants were awesome and we were able to visit each one. We never ate at the buffet in the evening but I'm sure it was good as the breakfasts were great. Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful resort

Very picturesque, friendly staff, many a la carte options...many a la carte options..... only area for improvement would be the food quality.... while certainly nothing wrong with it... I would say it was only average compared to other resort I have been to in other countries

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Everything you want

This is my second time at this resort. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place. Very clean food is great. Can snorkel right out front of the palace resort is best. I will say one thing to be aware of and not sure if the tripcentral reps would even be aware of. The last few days of our trip a business convention arrived and took over one side of the buffet. This created a line up at the other side. We walked to the next resort over to eat. Overall a great resort something for everyone at the Barcelo Ma [... read more]ya Grand resort.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Beyond my Expectations

This resort was a 5/5 in every aspect. The beach was beautiful, the rooms large and clean, the food was fantastic and the staff were super friendly and attentive. There is absolutely nothing I would change.
