Marazul Hotel: Nice beach - the rest is not worth it.

Restaurant, bar and security staff are very pleasant, very helpful; cannot say the same about the reception staff, where some of them are very nice, helpful, while others are not. Food quality is very poor; same food every day - no variety - however, the kitchen staff are trying to do their best, with the available ingredients. There were days where in the morning there was no butter, no cheese and no ham. Very poor bread quality; could not eat it - had to be toasted. Despite requesting for a technician to fix it, this did not happen, for the whole length of my stay. The pool area, for my taste, is quite noisy. This is also the area where the nightly entertainment takes place; the high music volume would certainly be a major inconvenience for the those whose rooms are facing this area, for people who would like to rest. As this is not the first time I stayed in this hotel, regretfully I must say that food quality went down, despite price going up dramatically. (For one week stay I paid the same price I paid for a two week vacation, just about less than two months before.) I am disappointed. The hotel is located about 25 minutes (by taxi) to Havana. Beware of cab drivers. You can run into real scammers. They can charge anywhere from 1000 to 2500 Cuban Pesos each way. You are better off to get a shuttle bus (across the street), which would charge you $10 US per person (must pay with a non-US credit card), for a return trip to Havana. The hotel reception should be able to provide the schedule.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing Hotel and Staff

Amazing week!!! This resort was all and more than we could have wished for. We arrived April 8th to the 15th . The staff here are the best. The beach is awesome...like no other. The food was made right in front of you and they do a great job. Omelette, bacon and fresh homemade bread every morning. We miss you already our friend. Dayanelis Coria Pardillo is beautiful. She is the entertainment and is fabulous at her job. She works very hard to get us visitors involved in the activities. Ismael Morgafo at the buffet goes above and beyond to help you out. He is very humble. Lali and Alfredo Manuel Sanchez Barroso will keep your Spanish coffee coming. They take real pride in their job. Freddie in maintenance..if you get the pleasure to meet him it will make you smile. These are just a few of staff that we had the pleasure to spend time with. Thank you all for all you do. And we can't forget Joseph...the entertainer. You are very talented my friend. We can't go without saying how amazing all the staff is at this resort. It was also a bonus treat to meet our fellow Nova Scotians on vacation. Thanks to all for a very relaxing and much needed vacation at this beautiful resort. If anyone is heading there soon Ariel could really use an agenda book (daily planner book) and pens. All supplies are greatly appreciated.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Pool at family section green and cloudy!

Just returned from our holiday. Upgraded from garden view to club garden view, we were told we could have access to adults only and the snack bar. Asked for French fries but told not for a white wristband. Went to snack bar in family section and asked for French fries. Told none available but the Cuban visitors were served some. Pool in family section green and murky. Beach is far from family section. Limited drinks available. No vodka or tequila. Many many Cubans who stuffed their bags wit [... read more]h food from buffet. Gran Muthu Imperial: Great resort, wonderful staff, good food

The resort was absolutely beautiful. Scenic views, spotless and well maintained. The staff were all so friendly and kind, lots to see around the resort and good entertainment in the evenings. I definitely recommended this resort for anyone looking to visit Cuba. PS no kids is better than I expected

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful Escape....

Our vacation was everything we expected it to be. Staff was friendly and courteous. Food was great for Cuba. Drinks were cold, and there was always something happening entertainment wise! We are definitely going back ❤

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Our home in Cuba!

This was our 7th time at Dhawa. We tried many resorts in Cuba but now that we found this gem, we don't go anywhere else. Best service from all employees and great rooms, great beach with lots of chairs and shade and beautiful water. All employees make us feel like we are part of the big Dhawa family. The food this time was the best so far. No shortage here. Lots of drinks except no cans of beer available but tons on draught. The snack bar provides great snacks anytime of day or night but the best is Pizza served in the afternoon. Overall we had an amazing time once more. Looking forward to our next visit.

Hotel Atlantico: Horrible!

Un mot: horrible! On ne comprends même pas pourquoi les voyagistes vendent cet hôtel la direction et la sécurité traitent les locaux et les étrangers de manière épouvantable. Tryp Cayo Coco: Awesome time was had.

First of all O'Neill Graham from Trip Central was a great rep.to deal with. He answered all my question I had. We have been to Tryp Cayo Coco before and things have changed, but not by much. Staff was awesome to deal with from checking in, to bar staff, room services, waiters and waitress. The food was good and could easily could make a meal. The beach was amazing and the pool was very enjoyable. As for Covid we felt very safe and protected by the staff they had all protocols put in place. Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Lovely people

The staff were exceptional. The place cleaning standards were excellent. The entertainment was superb!The food is ok. There was no red wine available. The connection to the internet was terrible, customers should be aware of that.

Melia Buenavista: Amazing experience, the people at the Hotel made our stay memorable

Gran Muthu Imperial: April in Cuba

There was a quick check-in after a very late arrival. The room was a good size and a great walking shower. It was probably the hottest water ever in a hotel. The resort was easy to navigate and all was kept well. Terrific lobby bar as well as the 2 by the pools. There was always someone cleaning any debris from the water. The beach was not great. The person I was traveling with was not as pleased with variety of food served. Food was served by staff who tried their best to keep up with the demand. Some people were to impatient and grabbed to serve themselves. Would probably not return only because I would like a beach with a walkout that is flatter. Great staff!!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Mediocre Resort

Unfortunately, this hotel didn't impress me much. I'm not a complainer but I'll tell you my opinion and let you judge. The first issue was no coffee maker in the room, which I mentioned to the front desk and they said they would check into. There were 2 coffee cups sitting there and a little dish with 2 spoons but no coffee maker. I need my morning coffee. The only place to get coffee was in the lobby, which was good but it's nice to have a cup without leaving the suite. The second issue was t [... read more]he main restaurant where the buffet is served. I'm assuming the air conditioning was not working because it was very hot in there. As a result, they had all the windows and doors open so there were flies on everything. All over the buffet and all over me and my food while I tried to eat. The staff were very good. The third issue was by the 3rd or 4th day I couldn't leave my room because of severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. Not sure if it was the food or the ice cubes in the drinks. I tried to drink bottled water only but my digestive tract was bleeding by Saturday and I was taking Imodium to make it home. Check out is at noon and the shuttle back to the airport is at 5 and there was no way I was going to spend 5 extra hours sitting in the lobby. I had to pay an extra $100 CAD to keep my room until 4 and have a washroom close by. Also, it's a pretty long walk to get to the beach if you don't upgrade to the Royal plan which is at least another $100 a day per person. The pool turned opaque and there was algae growing on the bottom. I didn't go in but it looked slippery. There was some good entertainment. A guitar duo in the lobby and the band that played on Friday to celebrate Canada. So, this was my take on the hotel. I wouldn't go back.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Get-a-way for a week!

It was lovely. Because of Covid, they are just updating the buildings, and the staff were very friendly. I loved the Massage. Best one I've ever experienced. Always problems with the stock of toilet paper but always took my own, just in case. the washrooms needed a plumber to update. Beach was so beautiful. Entertainment was top notch!

Melia Buenavista: Beautiful resort with the best staff!

This was my favourite stay in Cuba. There are three gorgeous beaches and two pool areas. It’s a great place for snorkelling. It’s a smaller resort, which is perfect if you’re looking for a more peaceful vacation. The rooms are beautiful and have everything you need. There are three restaurants and a snack bar, as well as a shuttle service to dine at the neighbouring resort. They offer daily activities like dance lessons and aqua fit as well as varying nightly entertainment. I can’t say e [... read more]nough wonderful things about the staff. Everyone is so kind and friendly, they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want and anticipate what you might need. I’ve never felt more at home at a resort and I can’t wait to go back!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing Resort

Very happy with this Resort staff friendly beautiful scenery and great variety of food choices. Loved the live Band performance and the wonderful scenery and variety of blooming plants 🪴 and wildlife. Highly recommend this wonderful Resort and the Food was excellent.👍🏽👏🏽

Hotel Bella Costa: great trip

We always enjoy going to Iberostar Bella Costa hotel because of the people(staff) we got to know over the years at the hotel. The staff as wonderful customer service. We have been to that hotel 5 times and for us it's great. Also we enjoy the selection of food choices and the service. Our rooms are ok, because we are barely in our room during the day. This hotel is close to town so we either go on horse and buggee, double decker bus or taxi. So we enjoy going to town. Due to covid things have changed in the past 2 years in town and all over. For the residents in Cuba lots of products are not available for them and the Cuban money is not worth much. For example they have no toothpaste, milk and many other things. They are thriving because of Covid. We should be greatful and lucky of what we have. With all of this happening in Cuba, the people are very helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful time and will probably go back to the same hotel when we go to Cuba.

The hotel good layout ,clean ,great rooms . Food pretty good ,no bacon, drinks well done but no tonic water for my favourite drink gin and tonic.rooms well cleaned,supposed to have in your fridge each day water, 2colas and a beer,there wasn’t any beer during our 11day stay said no cans available! Changing at the hotel better with doing it with the staff ,better deal getting a1.40 for exchange. They are now taking Canadian tips Loonies & toonies .Really like U. S. Dollars bring lots of ones for tipping ,they really need the tips to live. All the stores in area only take credit cards with all prices in U.S. !,most travellers didn’t want to use there card with what happens back in Canada when you get your statement!there was a lot of Cubas at the resort due to the cancellation of Russians not able to go ,so had deals for locals to come . The manager this was done so that the hotel stayed open so that the workers could get paid. Overal a good trip ,might go back when all of todays problem settle down.

Melia Internacional: An amazing well run holiday resort.

I chose this Melia because my main concern was COVID safety procedures as well as I wanted a wonderful holiday. Employees wore masks at all times. I was not disappointed. I would congratulate them on the cleanliness of the resort, the well trained friendly staff, the beach and great service they provide to guests. The restaurants were all very good. Always a good variety of choices. The Buffet Restaurant was excellent and safe. Safety rules were strictly enforced. Masks were required to [... read more] enter restaurants and could be removed once seated. As guests left, their tables were immediately wiped down. During the process of choosing your food, servers with tongs filled your plate as you progressed along the buffet. Breakfast was my favorite time because of the of the great cooks at many stations that prepare foods to your liking in front of you. In particular my morning omelette with ham, cheese, green pepper, onions and mushrooms. At other times these stations fried great burgers, fish and chicken. Needless to say, there were also many excellent precooked choices to choose. Lots of great salads and amazing baked goods. I dined at their specialty restaurants 7 nights out of our two week stay. The Japanese was my favorite followed by the Cuban (excellent lamb), Italian (great pizza) and Mexican. Last, the property was beautiful and well maintained. I could go on forever about the beach, pools and lobby bars. Their workers were friendly and happy and made for a great visit. I plan to visit again for two weeks in November.

Melia Las Dunas: 20 times later…

It must be more or less 20 times that I go to this resort over the course of the last 15 years. Needless to say that I enjoy it! I go for a couple of reasons: the warmth of the Cuban people, the incomparable beaches (no sargassum, crystal clear waters) the Rhum, the cigars for hubby and the unbeatable prices! Food: as we always say, Cuba is Cuba. The embargo always strikes hard and now add the pandemic to top it. But you will never go hungry. Talking of pandemic, the staff is submitted to strict rules but the same rules are not reinforced for the guests. (Feb.2022). You can spend a full week without a mask ( restaurant, buffet) and nobody will tell you do wear it. Rooms: always freshly painted. Curtains, bedspread, mattresses are new. Bathroom are a bit worned out. I can’t wait to my next stay! And as far as the reservation goes with Trip Central, thank you to Karol Chareza, 2 bookings in 2 months! Paradisus Los Cayos: Clean and new

Very clean and nice resort. Beach is fantastic. As expected in Cuba, there is much to be desired for better food. Although there was always something to eat, the food was very repetitive…and no cream or milk one morning. For a 4.5 star hotel, that is almost unheard of. Staff were great…always smiling and gracious but communication can be a challenge. I would return there again but not for the price we paid.
