Riu Negril: Great place

The Riu Negril is what I would consider on the smaller side which I prefer. The staff are amazing from the bartenders, the wait staff, the cleaners and maintenance crew. Awesome people and always ready to help. The resort could use some updates but has everything you needed. There are 3 restaurants requiring reservations Luigis, Steakhouse and the gourmet restaurant and all others are first come first serve. Never had to line up. The main buffet - Green Island for breakfast and dinner was good [... read more]. Lots of choices. The Mandalay was really good - Asian flare. There was a white night on Saturday nights on the beach - lots of fun. Great beach for walking and always lots of chairs. There is a quiet pool that we spent most time if not at the beach. The beach has a bar and a jerk chicken hut - which was amazing. All in all was a good trip. Other than some updates and making the rooms more accessible. The thing that I did not like is at 5:00 pm every day they fog the resort with whatever pesticide they use. We would stay in for an hour after which would make us miss the beautiful sunsets. Should do this when everyone is sleeping. All in all I would recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Can’t wait to go back

Absolutely incredible resort, from the food to the service. This resort is everything you would want in an all inclusive spot. Truly an amazing spot and can’t wait to return! Shae at trip central was so helpful in booking this trip and we look forward to using her again in our next!

Coco La Palm: Excellent vacation

We loved our Coco la Palm vacation. The room was clean and adequate. There were always places to lounge, sun or shade. The staff were all friendly and above all the food was excellent. We didn't have anything from grill or dining room that we didn't like. We felt very safe and enjoyed the entire trip.

Ocean Eden Bay: Not going back.

Rooms are dirty, grounds are not well kept, no hot water at times in the showers. Staff is rude, pool is falling apart (literally picking tiles out of the pool) They don’t clean up cups and garbage from around pool, from previous day. Food was alright, nothing to rave about. This is my 5th time in Jamaica, and I would not return to this resort.

Ocean Eden Bay: Ok resort

We had a lovely week in Jamaica in January, however there were some hiccups. They had 1 dinner & show restaurant, it was fully booked the entire week, could not get in, very disappointing. Our air conditioner was not working properly but was fixed. Resort was nice and clean, well maintained. Grounds were clean and well maintained. Pool area was clean. Food was amazing. Main lobby bar, felt unwelcome sometimes, couple bartenders, no smiles, felt like we were bothering them to make us a drink. But there were some who were very nice. Room - cleaning service not great, most days did not show up. Once we complained then they appeared. Turn down service only showed up twice. Butler- Aundre was wonderful, he did his best when we had issues. He did a beautiful design on their bed for her 50th birthday, he went above and beyond, simply gorgeous. Thank you. Bartender- Ritchie also made our vacation awesome, he has a large smile, great personality and a pleasure to be around, thank you. Aundre and Ritchie made our vacation extra special! For a new resort, 5 stars rating, many things lacking. I was not that impressed, for the money we spent it was not worth it. I’m not sure if I would recommend this resort, everyone has their own opinion. You would have to experience it yourself, everything might turn out well & not have any issues.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great resort

Love the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. This hotel is great for both adults and children. We enjoyed all the a la carte restaurants (especially the Indian) and would highly recommend this resort. Our only complaint would be our room was too close to the entertainment so we had loud music until 1:00. Next time we will ask to be far away from this -- but we would like to return.

Riu Negril: great vacation all things considered

This was our 1st time returning to a resort and our 1st time doing two weeks which speaks volumes for this resort. We took our own shuttle from the airport to the resort due to our visit last year and we arrived a couple hours ahead of the provided shuttle. Our room was an ocean view on the bottom floor because we have a hard time doing stairs but if you don't mind stairs then do the ocean view from above. We didn't complain about the toilet that needed a handle jingle to stop it from filling or [... read more] the many other minor issues in the room because we liked the room and it was very clean. After a few days of very poor sleep we asked to have the very saggy mattress replaced which was quickly provided. The grounds are well kept and they sprayed for insects several times in the middle of the day putting a huge cloud of pesticide behind their very noisy sprayer. This bothered some patrons much more than I because I would rather that, than be bit by insects all the time. It would be nice if they could spay before the sun comes up but the noise would wake everyone. A quieter sprayer would solve this issue if possible. There is a constant army of grounds keepers working to keep the grounds and beach looking great. The beach itself is very sandy and raked and cleaned every morning. There is a huge sandy area in the water where there is no grass for those that don't like the grass feel on their feet. Other resort water areas are a mix of grass and sand. I snorkeled every day while there and there is a small narrow reef that starts mid way to the swim buoys and extends out beyond the buoys. I've seen all the same stuff you would see on any other coral reef but on a much smaller scale. Be aware that there are many lion fish, barracudas, nurse sharks, sea urchins and sting rays out there. Shore fishing is no longer allowed this year from the resort beach so I would fish on either side of the resort property almost every morning. There are many small fishing boats adjacent to the property which I went out on. Just remember that they are very negotiable. Last year we hired Stanley's and they were cheaper and they have a proper fishing boat. The entertainment staff is very fun and provided lots of great activities. Negril is on the west side of Jamaica and most of the time the winds there are coming off the land and so we never had one day where it was red flagged. We have been to many resorts on the north part of the island and some stays we were lucky if we had 2 or 3 days where we were not red flagged and forget about snorkeling most days on the north side. The pools are thoroughly cleaned every morning including the pool decks. Our 1st week we stayed by the swim up bar pool and the 2nd week we stayed on the beach. I am not a fan of swim up bars because patrons will “stay” in the water for hours drinking however, they do seem to enjoy it more than the other pool. The locals are allowed only by the edge of water to sell their wares and security does a great job keeping them off the resort property. Security was a little slack enforcing the resort wide no smoking policy even though there are several designated smoking areas. Patrons would smoke and vape in most outdoor areas especially by the pools. It was nice to see that reservations are required for some restaurants but I found that most of them were no better than the main dining room and actually some not as good. You could always find very good food in the main dining room but the seafood seemed to be consistently over cooked in all eating areas. Overall this resort is well maintained and very clean but clearly in need of upgrades and my rating is based on this, however, this resort is scheduled to close in August for a few months for renovations and I look forward to a return visit to see the differences.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beatiful Resort

No complaints about the food. There appeared to be something to please everyone. Plus, the specialty restaurants provided even more variety. The grounds were daily cleared of fallen plant material. Not quite as much attention was paid to human garbage that occasionally littered the gardens and waterfront. I enjoy snorkelling and I had read a very good review of the possibilities. However, we had a big wind and rain storm while I was there which made the ocean very rough. I was unable to  [... read more]kayak and some snorkelling areas were too silty and/or had too strong a current. These big storms seem to be more common. Therefore, snorkelling and kayaking are not reliable activities. Because the resort area is so large, walking from one end to another is a good distance. There are multiple beaches also, if one tires of an area. The swimming areas of mostly very shallow. They have the longest pool that I have seen at a resort.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Awesome Resort

Everything about this Riu is top notch from staff , restaurants , buffet and beach. The resort is clean and rooms beautiful , who eats lobster 4 times out of 7 !!! Beef tenderloin was also top notch. We will come here again.

Ocean Eden Bay: An Excellent Resort

My husband and I had an excellent vacation at Ocean Eden Bay. Having the Coral Springs side to also experience at the same time added to the value of the resort. We felt it was extremely good value at the price point that we paid for an ocean view room (without privilege service). What stood out for us were the rooms were spacious, well laid and the beds were extremely comfortable. The balcony was also a nice size with decent chairs and a side table. We especially enjoyed the Steakhouse, Marlin, Sense's Dinner Theatre, and Bluemoon (confusing but menu was at Marlin certain nights) for dinners. Marlin for breakfast. Captain's Table for lunch. The pool was great but too noisy with music and games for our liking so we mostly stayed at the beach. It was small but adequate. Really for us, the only negative was we like a bigger beach to walk along. In other reviews, people complained about the service from staff. Our experience was that all staff members were extremely helpful and pleasant.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Welcome home motto!!

This was my second time at this resort and I really like the smaller set up of the grounds, the people, and the availability of being able to snorkel everyday and eat ice cream! However that is not to say this hotel does not need some TLC, our room a deluxe ocean view room was musty smelling, and no ventilation at all in the bathroom to clear steam or smell, we were on a two week stay, not sure how 4 people would of managed we were only 2. We did not go to watch TV but again being their two [... read more] weeks we were not out every evening but maybe 2 or 3 channels that's it. Not one hanger in a huge closet with no way too put anything in. Most of the staff is wonderful but Customer Service staff does not seem happy, several times we needed to speak to them and yes they provided what was asked but with very little enthusiasm. The food in this hotel and the ala carts is very very good ?..the Jerk hut and ice cream stand also very good. Grounds are very well taken care of and the hot tubs worked!! We will go back, and hopefully some upgrades are made. ?

Riu Montego Bay: Good Resort

Hotel was large had all emmebties required. Food was good nobody got sick. Stafg where friendly at most. Sinwing reps all horrible at resort. Flight delayed almost 3 hours an d still took us to airport at scheduled time only to sit at airport for 5 hours. Good pools.5 in total. Beach good .ocean not very good. Muddly sand with algae. Nightly shows good.ecept 2 adjacent rui resorts party at night at our rui montego. Would rate a 4 out 5.

Riu Reggae: AMAZING RESORT

If you are looking for an entertaining resort then look no further than RIU Reggae. Very friendly staff, great food with plenty of options, nightly entertainment and the ability to also visit RIU Montego Bay, made this trip very enjoyable. Would recommend an ocean view room during your stay. Booking through trip central was easy and stress free. I would definitely recommend! 5+ stars for sure!

Riu Palace Jamaica: Amazing staff and service

The Rui Palace is a wonderful almost boutique like hotel with the best service and staff of any hotel I have stayed. The rooms are newly renovated and alway clean and welcoming. The food is delicious and diverse to satisfy different palettes and appetites. Only downside is the beach is not good and the airplanes noise from the airport is annoying at times .

This was our 2 time here and as usual it was a great vacation. Food was absolutely delicious especially at the Don Pablo and The Knife’s. The buffet had great food the 3 night we went many choices to choose from for everyone. We were lucky and got one of the newly renovated room. The beaches were nice the one by the kids pool was the best the other ones were ok. Lots of music at the pool which was great entertainment , the entertainment staff did a great job with the entertainment. The Jerk restaurant at the pool was amazing with great food. You definitely will need bug spray we got gotten several times thank goodness I had lotion with me for the bites after reading reviews. We did have a foul smell in our room which was the water it was bad at times but manageable. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica

The resort was a fantastic location. Clean facilities, the grounds were impeccable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only fault I had was the beach immediately in front of the resort. While very clean and amazing views, the sand was quit rocky and difficult to walk on. Other then that, I would return in a second to this place and recommend it to anyone.
