Excellence Oyster Bay: The Best

Great Resort. Never had to wait in line for dinner. Lots of choices and food was good. Breakfast buffet was not as hot as it should be but everything else was great. No issues getting chairs by the pool or beach ever. No need to run down early and save a spot. Staff were always friendly. Room was beautiful. Will definitely be back.

Jewel Paradise Cove: 2nd time

2nd time back in 6mths, took a group of 21 this time, we had a blast we will be back for sure. Tropical storm hit us on the last eve but it did not spoil our vacation. Staff are great. hotel manager made sure all was well after the storm.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Cozy little resort

Found this resort to be a nice little spot. Went with a large group. Food was average. Buffet was very average. Not much selection. Beaches were very small. Hamburger and hot dog place was a pleasant surprise. Service in all restaurants other than Japanese was extremely slow. Honestly this trip was not worth the money we paid. Company made this trip enjoyable along with the friendly service. Will look for a nicer resort next time in Jamaica

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great Resort for families

On arrival, we were approached for a presentation (selling tactics) to get a membership to be part of their premium package. I spent a lot of time with them but when I asked them how much would the membership be, she said nothing and then said we pay only when we'd use the program to make reservations, and since my husband wasn't with me to make a decision, I left. For me, you pay for a membership (monthly payments). It was a loss of my precious vacation time. The grounds were pretty much clean [... read more] except for the beach weeds still on the beaches, left there or in bags, and after being there all day, full sun or not, the smell of those rotten weeds was pretty bad. I was there for two weeks so right after high winds and high waves, debris of weeds accumulated and it was not a pretty picture. Please clean and pick up the weeds in their bags left for days. Other than that, it was OK. Pools were cleaned every day which I appreciated a lot. The entertainment was great! The bathrooms and dining areas were overall pretty clean. The personnel are pleasant enough throughout the resort. The cleaning of the rooms was done whenever, with no schedule, from morning to dinner time. It's a good thing that we didn't mind too much but I still think that I should mention it. Our grown-up kids and grandchildren had a blast as there was always something to do at the resort. Thank you for having us, taking care of us, and feeding us. :)

SeaGarden Beach Resort: Awesome resort!

This was my 3rd visit to Jamaica and 3rd stay at Sea Garden. I love the "family" feel, the staff are amazing, the grounds are beautiful, food is great, the beach is beautiful and the price point is affordable. I can't say enough about this resort. Absolutely love it!

Riu Palace Jamaica: Beautiful resort

Beautiful rooms. All areas incredibly clean. Staff cleaning everywhere all the time. Fantastic food, buffet all a la cartes, snack bar. All staff cheerful, helpful, anticipated needs. Lovely beach. Plenty of seating at beach and pools.

Riu Montego Bay: Great resort

3rd time there food was good entertainment was great all day and night. Great customer service from the front desk to the server's at the buffet Rhianna and Samantha thank you very much and to the cleaners. The pools were awesome 5 to choose from the beach is great the water not so much lots of seaweed my only complaint is the vendors trying to sell you illegal stuff all the time it makes you not want to go to the beach. Other than that great time.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Not going back

Checked into the hotel and politely asked if we could be down towards the adult section and on the 3rd or 4th floor. The front desk they had no availability but for me to go back the next day and they would give me another room. We check into our room and the toilet does not flush. They sent someone in to fix it. Next morning, tried to make coffee, the coffee machine does not work. Went down for breakfast and checked into the front desk to see about our room, they said all room changes must come [... read more] from guest services. So i went over and asked about the room and they said.....wait for it...all room changes must come from the front desk!! Went back to the front desk and after getting no where with them, i went back to guest services and asked if they could fix or replace the coffee machine. They said they would send someone up. I also asked if we could get a mini fridge in our room, and although they are not in every room, they would try. This was about 8:00 am. Went back to guest services just before 6:00 pm, again i asked about the coffee machine, they called maintenance and were told someone replaced it at 4:00 pm. I told them that wasn't possible because i was in the room then and the coffee machine is still not working. Again, they said they would send someone up. Went for dinner, and around 9:00 pm, maintenance comes and said they can not replace it that night because where they get the coffee machines, well that was closed!!! I said i reported this at 8:00 am in the morning. So the maintenance guy went into the next room which was getting renovated and gave us a coffee machine. Next morning i go for breakfast and someone at guest services stopped me and said they were trying to get a hold of me all day yesterday, and i promptly answered, there was no messages on my phone. They said they have upgraded our room to a suite and it was ready for me yesterday!! So i didn't argue, we went upstairs packed our stuff and went to the new room. We no sooner unpack and tried to get to our balcony and of course....the door does not open!!! Unbelievable!! Food was worse than it has ever been, and cold!! Wait around for them to clean off tables and get coffee, takes forever.....unless Sharika was there!! She was so good!! Decided to fly sunwing instead of westjet this year, the day we leave, they pick us up at 11:35 making 3 stops on the way to the airport, we get to the airport and since we are already checked in and had our boarding pass, i asked the sunwing guy on the floor where the bag drop off was. He promptly told me there was none and i had to get in line with everyone else. Well there hundreds of people in that line. We get in line, it wasn't moving very quickly, so it is now 1:30 and we were still over an hour away from it being our turn. I told the guy our boarding was at 2:15 and he informed me we had lots of time!!! So we finally get to the check in person at 2:45 pm. They told us to run past security to the gate down a hall. Well i didn't see that hall so i asked the security person and he said NO, we MUST go through security!! They brought us to the front of the line, finally went to security and boarded our plane at 2:59 pm. All i can say is WOWWWW

Sandals Royal Plantation: Amazing service

Hotel and services was beyond words. Great ocean views grounds were well manicured. Not for people that want to party but if relaxing is what you want and expect world service then this is for you. nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Ocean Coral Spring: Housekeeping

The Ocean Coral Spring Resort was amazing & met our needs in most every way. If there was one area that could be improved on would be in Housekeeping. While they did a great job in cleaning, most days we were left with only 1 or 2 towels in the bathroom & no wash cloths. Each time we had to remind them to leave the items or ask for them if we saw their cart in the hallway.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fantastic Resort!!

This resort was absolutely beautiful!! Very very clean, rooms spotless, staff were very accommodating and friendly and food was fabulous!! Honestly I have no complaints whatsoever and plan to return.

Riu Negril: Great place

The Riu Negril is what I would consider on the smaller side which I prefer. The staff are amazing from the bartenders, the wait staff, the cleaners and maintenance crew. Awesome people and always ready to help. The resort could use some updates but has everything you needed. There are 3 restaurants requiring reservations Luigis, Steakhouse and the gourmet restaurant and all others are first come first serve. Never had to line up. The main buffet - Green Island for breakfast and dinner was good [... read more]. Lots of choices. The Mandalay was really good - Asian flare. There was a white night on Saturday nights on the beach - lots of fun. Great beach for walking and always lots of chairs. There is a quiet pool that we spent most time if not at the beach. The beach has a bar and a jerk chicken hut - which was amazing. All in all was a good trip. Other than some updates and making the rooms more accessible. The thing that I did not like is at 5:00 pm every day they fog the resort with whatever pesticide they use. We would stay in for an hour after which would make us miss the beautiful sunsets. Should do this when everyone is sleeping. All in all I would recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Can’t wait to go back

Absolutely incredible resort, from the food to the service. This resort is everything you would want in an all inclusive spot. Truly an amazing spot and can’t wait to return! Shae at trip central was so helpful in booking this trip and we look forward to using her again in our next!

Coco La Palm: Excellent vacation

We loved our Coco la Palm vacation. The room was clean and adequate. There were always places to lounge, sun or shade. The staff were all friendly and above all the food was excellent. We didn't have anything from grill or dining room that we didn't like. We felt very safe and enjoyed the entire trip.

Ocean Eden Bay: Not going back.

Rooms are dirty, grounds are not well kept, no hot water at times in the showers. Staff is rude, pool is falling apart (literally picking tiles out of the pool) They don’t clean up cups and garbage from around pool, from previous day. Food was alright, nothing to rave about. This is my 5th time in Jamaica, and I would not return to this resort.

Ocean Eden Bay: Ok resort

We had a lovely week in Jamaica in January, however there were some hiccups. They had 1 dinner & show restaurant, it was fully booked the entire week, could not get in, very disappointing. Our air conditioner was not working properly but was fixed. Resort was nice and clean, well maintained. Grounds were clean and well maintained. Pool area was clean. Food was amazing. Main lobby bar, felt unwelcome sometimes, couple bartenders, no smiles, felt like we were bothering them to make us a drink. But there were some who were very nice. Room - cleaning service not great, most days did not show up. Once we complained then they appeared. Turn down service only showed up twice. Butler- Aundre was wonderful, he did his best when we had issues. He did a beautiful design on their bed for her 50th birthday, he went above and beyond, simply gorgeous. Thank you. Bartender- Ritchie also made our vacation awesome, he has a large smile, great personality and a pleasure to be around, thank you. Aundre and Ritchie made our vacation extra special! For a new resort, 5 stars rating, many things lacking. I was not that impressed, for the money we spent it was not worth it. I’m not sure if I would recommend this resort, everyone has their own opinion. You would have to experience it yourself, everything might turn out well & not have any issues.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great resort

Love the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. This hotel is great for both adults and children. We enjoyed all the a la carte restaurants (especially the Indian) and would highly recommend this resort. Our only complaint would be our room was too close to the entertainment so we had loud music until 1:00. Next time we will ask to be far away from this -- but we would like to return.

Riu Negril: great vacation all things considered

This was our 1st time returning to a resort and our 1st time doing two weeks which speaks volumes for this resort. We took our own shuttle from the airport to the resort due to our visit last year and we arrived a couple hours ahead of the provided shuttle. Our room was an ocean view on the bottom floor because we have a hard time doing stairs but if you don't mind stairs then do the ocean view from above. We didn't complain about the toilet that needed a handle jingle to stop it from filling or [... read more] the many other minor issues in the room because we liked the room and it was very clean. After a few days of very poor sleep we asked to have the very saggy mattress replaced which was quickly provided. The grounds are well kept and they sprayed for insects several times in the middle of the day putting a huge cloud of pesticide behind their very noisy sprayer. This bothered some patrons much more than I because I would rather that, than be bit by insects all the time. It would be nice if they could spay before the sun comes up but the noise would wake everyone. A quieter sprayer would solve this issue if possible. There is a constant army of grounds keepers working to keep the grounds and beach looking great. The beach itself is very sandy and raked and cleaned every morning. There is a huge sandy area in the water where there is no grass for those that don't like the grass feel on their feet. Other resort water areas are a mix of grass and sand. I snorkeled every day while there and there is a small narrow reef that starts mid way to the swim buoys and extends out beyond the buoys. I've seen all the same stuff you would see on any other coral reef but on a much smaller scale. Be aware that there are many lion fish, barracudas, nurse sharks, sea urchins and sting rays out there. Shore fishing is no longer allowed this year from the resort beach so I would fish on either side of the resort property almost every morning. There are many small fishing boats adjacent to the property which I went out on. Just remember that they are very negotiable. Last year we hired Stanley's and they were cheaper and they have a proper fishing boat. The entertainment staff is very fun and provided lots of great activities. Negril is on the west side of Jamaica and most of the time the winds there are coming off the land and so we never had one day where it was red flagged. We have been to many resorts on the north part of the island and some stays we were lucky if we had 2 or 3 days where we were not red flagged and forget about snorkeling most days on the north side. The pools are thoroughly cleaned every morning including the pool decks. Our 1st week we stayed by the swim up bar pool and the 2nd week we stayed on the beach. I am not a fan of swim up bars because patrons will “stay” in the water for hours drinking however, they do seem to enjoy it more than the other pool. The locals are allowed only by the edge of water to sell their wares and security does a great job keeping them off the resort property. Security was a little slack enforcing the resort wide no smoking policy even though there are several designated smoking areas. Patrons would smoke and vape in most outdoor areas especially by the pools. It was nice to see that reservations are required for some restaurants but I found that most of them were no better than the main dining room and actually some not as good. You could always find very good food in the main dining room but the seafood seemed to be consistently over cooked in all eating areas. Overall this resort is well maintained and very clean but clearly in need of upgrades and my rating is based on this, however, this resort is scheduled to close in August for a few months for renovations and I look forward to a return visit to see the differences.
