The Verandah Antigua: Best Trip Ever!!

The hotel grounds were clean, tidy and nothing was out of place. The public places were always clean and ready to go. The resort was made up of several small white cottages with access to shuttles readily available. Our room and bathroom were both spacious. There was an a furnished balcony with tables and chairs for morning coffee or tea, which was also supplied, along with coffee maker, kettle, toaster, small fridge and glassware and cutlery.Our dining experience was excellent! The resort offer [... read more]ed a different theme each night at the Seabreeze buffet (Oriental, BBQ, Caribbean, Mexican, International, Southern, and Italian.) We enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was an option for fine dining at two restaurants: Buccaneers and Nicole's (these were not included in the all inclusive and required a summer dress code) With such a variety of foods everyone in our family was happy. All meals included fresh fruit, cheese platter, salads and desserts. The beach offered lots of water sports and beach toys for kids. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife on the beach like: mongoose, pelican, crabs, geckos and many varieties of small fish in the water.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Fantastic beach!

Had a great time - people were friendly, the beach awesome. Food was good and really enjoyed the entertainment. The resort is a little dated but know that going in and have a mindset of you are just going to enjoy yourself and you will.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Amaizing! Clean, Safe, Nice People, Delicious Food

This hotel is clean, well maintained, easy access to all facilities. Always a different place to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staff are always ready to help, they are patient and try to make you feel welcomed. The beach is clean to what is humanly possible , there is however some smoker who throw cigarettes butts to the beach. Unfortunately, staff have to bend their backs to clean the mess. If you happen to check the weather report before you arrive and see thunder storms, do not panic. The rain if few, warm and you can enjoy it even while you are on the beach bed or in the water. We did it! Going on the tours is something to take advantage of. We had great tours around the island and went to Barbuda, a little extension of paradise. The ferry which bring you there is a little bit hard on your back as it jumps the two out of the three hours of trip length. But hey, worth it! Some tips, bring a cushion, bring some chips and packed food, change many one dollar bills for the tips prior trip, the banks have change but the lines are long. Overall, well recommended, bring yourself, your spouse and your children. It is a beautiful place to give yourselves a prize from your hard work.

I enjoyed the moment I have arrived till the very last moment, the hospitality was sensational with an upscale courtesy. I recommend this resort to anyone who will be travelling to Antigua. The service was excellent as well as the ground maintenance. Very clean.

The Verandah Antigua: Beautiful Resort

The Verandah is a lovely resort for families and couples. The water is shallow and very warm both in the bay and the two pools. The food was very good and the drinks amazing. The beaches are small, but large enough and plenty of loungers always available. The grounds are well kept and you often see the Manager around checking on things. The rooms are large, but need updating. The fridge is empty so be sure to buy wine at the duty-free if you want to have a glass on the lovely balcony. It overlooks English Harbour and is a fun night for food, drinks and dancing. It's about a half hour from the Verandah by taxi. If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday on a beautiful island, the Verandah is the place for you.

St James Club and Villas: Phenomenal! Just Paradise!

We got married and brought a group of 64 with us to the hotel. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating to our large group. The beaches and grounds were just breathtaking and gave a very different vibe than your typical resort. You did not have to reserve or fight for beach chairs - even at full occupancy! The water and beaches were gorgeous and you can snorkel right off the shore with ease! The beaches and hotel were beautiful. There was an ocean-side beach and a bay-side beach both part of the resort with bars and restaurants nearby. Lots of lounge chairs at the beaches and the 5 different pools. The grounds were immaculate. The weather perfect and the people there were so friendly and helpful. What a truly amazing place. We loved it!

The Verandah Antigua: Fun resort with some issues

Grounds were great, beaches and pools were great, rooms had some issues (leaking ac, untimely cleaning), most staff were excellent some were a little rude. Food was amazing and hanged daily. Lots of walking so use the shuttles.

The Verandah Antigua: Fantastic unique place!

Grounds are gorgeous. It's Green and Eco-friendly so you really experience being on their island. No high rises. Gorgeous views from most rooms. Food was fantastic but don't look for a buffet of a 100 items. This is well prepared, fresh food. Beaches are smaller and more intimate. This is a place to go to relax and unwind.

St James Club and Villas: Superb!

Gorgeous setting and meticulous grounds. Very relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. The pool aerobics was amazing and fun, so hat's off to each and every instructor! Exercise room excellent as well as the tennis courts! Your maintenance staff very hard working and professional, from grounds workers to maid service, awesome. Pineapple Beach Club: Grand pineapple overall a good resort

I arrived at this resort on April 17, Resort was not full which was great. No lineups, upgraded room and no chair shortage Over all the resort is a good 3.5.Adult pool not nice beach was beautiful but a bit of a problem with seaweed, not always cleaned up. Food, you won't go hungry, the best was Mary's outhouse. Room was fine,Maid service was very good. Bar tenders could smile once and a while,some of them just didn't seem to want to be there. Would return if price was lowered.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Paradise

Wonderful food, cleanliness, service & ambience. The Penthouse Romeo & Juliet Room was so luxurious and spacious. The weather was perfect: 28/29 during the day, 24/25 at night, with slight breeze and only one brief shower.....oh and no humidity. Only suggestion would be to have a couple of larger scale shows, per week.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Paradise Found

Recently returned from 2 weeks at Sandals Grand Antigua. Our 5th 2 week Sandals trip and we now rate this one #1. Staff go beyond in every aspect. Not uncommon to see Mr. G., Kevin, Frank and many others picking up glasses, towels, etc around resort. Ate at all restaurants without any complaints. Resort grounds beautifully manicured. Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great Value

There are three things that I personally expect from a vacation. Good food, a beautiful beach and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The Rex met all of my expectations. Yes the buildings are old so it's not a palace, but my husband and I don't care about that. Management and staff work really hard at making the best of what they've got; for example, changing the colours and patterns of the table cloths in the main dining room. Royalton CHIC Antigua: FANTASTIC VACATION

This resort was amazing. My husband and I traveled with my two sisters. We were booked in on the ground floor #231 and #236 not side by side but great. We met amazing staff and the group of vacationers were in our age group,(48-65) very few kids. Drinks at the bar were extensive for a all inclusive hotel. Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great resort

The staff gets an A for amazing. We felt right at home when Dwayne greeted us with cold drinks while we were checking in. He was very helpful and welcoming. The staff was wonderful!! Great stay for our family including our two grand- daughters(one and two years old). The front desk staff were amazing especially in their prompt effort in helping us to locate a doctor in finding a doctor to get some medication for our son. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Royalton CHIC Antigua: Good resort for the money

Resort is very tired, but the staff , with the exception of front desk (very rude), food & drink, beach are all very good. Rooms are large and cleaned daily. Only one ala carte restaurant which is only open 3 days/week.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Good Value Hotel

This hotel was what I expected for the price and the fact that it was listed as a 3 star. The beach was good and the same beach shared with the Sandles Resort right next door. Very windy when we were there so snorkelling wasn't an option as the water had no visibility. As previous reviews said the staff were wonderful and the food was good. The hotel is run down and does need many repairs. Any complaints we did have, ie: no hot water, were addressed immediately.
