The Beach at Atlantis: very good resort

beautiful resort, good food and lots of activities to do. We really had a good time at The Atlantis Beach Tower. The only problem we had, was passing through The Casino every time we needed to visit stores or restaurant in the resort. I disliked the view of children going through Casino with parents from one point of the hotel to another point. Otherwise everything else was fine. It is a great place for adults. No children.

The Royal at Atlantis: Sunwing All-Inclusive at Atlantis

ALL-INCLUSIVE: Sunwing has a pretty good racket going with their "4 day" all-inclusive Atlantis package. For starters, the flight times for their air charter are strategically set so that it is not possible to enjoy resort amenities or have a meal (or any food or drink for that matter) on the day of arrival or day of departure. This effectively reduces a 4 day all inclusive to 3 days. Secondly, the onus is on the guest to know what restaurants they can go to and, more importantly, what they can  [... read more]order from those restaurants that is included or not included. The resort workers don't seem to have a good handle on this, and all food & drink is charged to the room then taken off your tab if it meets the criteria for the all inclusive. On the positive side, the criteria for the all-inclusive seemed to be much less restrictive in practice than what the written materials actually indicated. For example, it was stated that only fountain soda and juices and domestic beer were included, yet we were able to enjoy and not pay extra for bottled drinks like Gatorade for the kids and imported beer for the adults. FLIGHT: On the trip down, our flight was delayed 3 1/4 hours. Instead of landing at 9:40 pm Sunday evening, we landed just before 1:00 am Monday morning. We arrived at the hotel shortly before 2:00 am and waited close to an hour to check in. When we finally made it to our room, it was 3:00 in the morning. Travelling with two small children, you may imagine how unpleasant this was, not to mention how it cut into enjoyment of day 1 of our 3 day all-inclusive. ROOM: Perhaps to make up for our delayed arrival, or perhaps because the rooms in the Beach Tower were all filled by the time we arrived, we were upgraded to a Beach Tower villa. Rather than being situated in the large 7-story building, we were set up in one of the two story walkup buildings. The room itself was adequate, nothing special, but it was great to be able to just walk out the door and be outside vs having to walk down a long, dark corridor and wait for an elevator. FOOD: We were pleasantly surprised at the food, all of which was delicious. The Sunwing all-inclusive restaurant selection for breakfast was limited to one buffet (Poseidon's Table) and one a la carte (Murray's Deli). We tried the buffet on day 1 and ate at Murray's on day 2 and 3. The Biggan's BLT at Murray's was fantastic. Dinner selections were a bit broader with the addition of two more restaurants, the Beach Burger Shack and a pizzeria, but we ate all three dinners at the buffet, which had a huge variety of items of decent quality. Lunch options were numerous and we enjoyed some delicious wraps and salads. RESORT AMENITIES: Atlantis has quite a bit to offer but our party was able to enjoy most of the included offerings in our short time there...tried all of the water rides (there are only eight plus the two lazy rivers), enjoyed the Beach Tower pool and beach, snorkelled in the lagoon (highly recommend this if you like snorkelling), worked out in the fitness centre, saw a movie at the theatre, won some money at the casino, and toured a good number of the amazing aquariums. OVERALL: After getting off to a poor start, we did end up having a very nice vacation. Is Atlantis good value for the money? Not really. We paid almost the same for three days that we have paid elsewhere in the Caribbean for seven days, with similar quality food and nicer accommodations. Would we go back? No, but it was nice to experience Atlantis and all that it has to offer.

The Royal at Atlantis: Great time had by all

All aspects of the hotel met or exceeded our expectation. Not always an easy thing to do when you have 2 teenagers travelling with you as well. The grounds and staff were incredible. Also, there was an unlimited number of activities so the whole family was always entertained

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Great resort, shame we weren't warned about spring break!

Absolutely amazing, gorgeous resort!! The beach is absolutely gorgeous, the staff are so friendly and happy and seem to enjoy making all the guests happy. The food was excellent and being a vegetarian I always had lots to choose from. Everything was spotlessly clean and all staff went out of their way to make everyone happy and feel like they belonged. As nice and friendly as these students were to talk to there were a lot of serious problems for the other guests to deal with. They took over the pool area, the beach area and the beach bar/restaurant. Loud, drunk and high these kids destroyed all the tranquil, peace and quiet we had expected at this resort. I am so glad we did not bring our children to this family friendly resort while these students who were there through an organization called student city played their beach games which were organized, couples had to run into the water and change bathing suites to win a vacation, so nudity everywhere in front of small children, or wet tshirt competitions, demonstrate 10 sexual positions on stage etc etc. Bathroom toilets and sinks covered in vomit, condoms on the beach, the partying, yelling, kids passed out drunk outside their rooms, falling off balconies, fighting, the amount of kids we saw hurt and in wheelchairs was disturbing, ambulances and police were there constantly. We feel cheated that our one week vacation together once a year was destroyed by student city and the fact our travel agent didn't forewarn us really upsets us. Our vacation was ruined, we hardly slept, the noise and partying was constant.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Just an amazing place!

The food was amazing...lots of choice at the buffet. Specialty restaurants were great. Hotel was very clean. Mattresses need to be replaced. Lie sleeping in a hammock. The linens were good. Liquor dispenser in room is convenient. Pool is warm. The local musical entertainment was great. Would go back.

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Great Family Vacation

A beautiful resort with wonderful and helpful staff and lots of activities for the whole family's entertainment. Happily surprised at the high quality of the theatrical performances presented. One drawback was the long checkin time. Plane landed 10:30 am, hotel room was not available until 3pm. An inconvenience especially with kids. I suggest Sunwing should work on their timing to coincide with the hotel room availability.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Great Hotel

We had a great three day week end stay ,hotel was clean and food was good. Other than checking in seemed to be very slow with only one customer service working at the time. The shows put on at night were excellent and the drinks were great. Staff were all good

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Fabulous Resort

The Riu Paradise Island is the only all inclusive resort in the Bahamas for my sister and I. For the 5th time, the Riu was awesome from the warm welcome, fast and lovely room assignments, the comfort and cleanliness was only exceeded by the variety of tasty food at all times. Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Awesome resort!

Beautiful well kept resort. Staff always very friendly and helpful. The alacarte restaurants were very good with delicious food and great service. Room was updated and very clean. Beach was amazing.

The Royal at Atlantis: Great Trip

We did the Sunwing all inclusive booked through trip central. There were less dinner restaurant options than we expected but it still worked for us. The resort is beautiful and the food and drinks are amazing.

Breezes Bahamas: Great value resort

Lots to do. Good beach, solid food. Room are clean. Everything is compact. Staff was courteous. Not the poshest resort. But great value for the money; compared to other resorts in the Bahamas. Located away from the busy cruise ship area for some peace, but a quick taxi or bus ride to the downtown markets and restaurants. Stay away from this resort during March Break unless you want to party! Excursions were reasonable and easily accessible.

Breezes Bahamas: Loved it

We just returned from 4 days at the breezes and we had an amazing time ! The beach was unreal , the staff were fantastic and the food was amazing ! The pools were very nice as well , lots of chairs and lots of games during the day. In the evening the outdoor hot tub was really nice too. We were lucky enough to see a sea turtle at our beach! All in all it was an amazing trip ! We loved , loved the resort and will be back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Highly recommended

Hotel was clean overall with friendly stuff all around. Had an issue wth the water but got fixed within the hour. Beach was top notch sand and water. Food was good and every drink I got was amazing. Enjoyable experience overall

Breezes Bahamas: Great Value

Even though it is an older property it is still a nice getaway. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are clean and you cannot beat the beach. The food at the garden of Eden is excellent and the buffet has a nice variety. Great value for the money and I will return for another stay.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Decent Place

The staff was great very friendly all the time. They interacted with the tourists and made you feel at home. The rooms were pretty decent. If you stayed on the backside of the Hotel you couldn't leave your balcony door open as your room would begin to smell foul from the septic tanks The wifi service was horrible, only had access in the front Lobby and not in the rooms. Take full advantage of the beautiful beach and water. The Beach was amazing, no complaints at all. The water was to die for. For those who like to take long walks on the beach the scenic view is beautiful. Easy access to the Atlantis Hotel ( Via Front of Hotel Main Roads) where you can explore the Aquariums, Theatre, stores, clubs and Casino. The only reason I wouldn't return to this specific location is because there is a lot of drug trafficking that happens between the Workers of the Catamaran, Banana Boat rides, Seadoos etc. They are very rude to each other and they do not care what kind of language goes on whether or not there are young children around. They are constantly fighting with each other and it doesn't make for a relaxing time on the "Resort beach". There was a drug deal that had gone bad and the beach pretty much cleared up. I would rate this a 3/5 -

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Training Training Training

We stayed at the Riu Palace from Feb. 19 to Feb 26. This is an older resort and we were told that they will be closed from June until September of this year for renovations. It does need some work in the rooms and the pool has to be re tiled. The front lobby was nice and the staff at the desk were very informative. The cleaning staff on our floor were very friendly and said good morning when we saw them, they would also ask us how our day went and when leaving, told us to have a safe flight home [... read more]. I think some retraining needs to be done while they are closed. While walking in the hall or lobby I would often pass some of the staff, they had their head down and I had to say hello before I would get a response. It is very welcoming and friendly when the staff say hello. Simple thing to do and say, It makes you feel welcome. The bar staff at the pool need to follow Leo and Donny. They were always pleasant and friendly. The other bar staff need to follow that routine, it would go a mile. The pool bar was never manned by anyone , they would always stand up top and ask you what you wanted. Their was no conversation with the staff because they always went back up top. Just some small tips to help out while they are closed, retrain and help your staff to be friendly. We had three days of rain but you can't help that. This isn't the first Riu we have stayed at, we have been to four other locations and loved them. Andre Taschereau

Sandals Emerald Bay: Really grows on you!

Beautiful grounds and buildings still showing signs of hurricane recovery. Loved the beach walks and golf course...also for walking. The quiet pool with cabanas was appreciated. A resort for older adults as well as younger...very accessible.

Breezes Bahamas: Amazing Resort

The staff was very polite and attentive. Food was super good. Rooms and amenities were very clean. The beach was excellent. I would recommend this resort to my friends and family. Would like to visit again. Five stars.

We booked Breezes Bahamas through trip central.ca. Our agent; Tammy Beamish was awesome! Very helpful throughout the entire booking process. The resort itself was also very good. Great room. Great food, staff & services. The beach was HUGE & right there! Highly recommend!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: 2nd time going - loved it!!

This is our second time going to this resort and we will be back again later this year. I love the beach, pools and food. The rooms are a little dated and could use some updating but we don't spend a lot of time in our room - so it's not a big deal to us. It's a quick 15 minute bus ride from the airport, free wi-fi throughout the entire resort and reservations for the a la carte restaurants are easy to make. We will definitely be back!
