Occidental Arenas Blancas: Great resirt
Room was clean, grounds well kept and meals were very good. Nice shaded area by beach. Excellent client service provided by Onay for suggesting restaurants and very professional in all information he provided us.
Club Kawama: Great Location
This is definitely a 3 Star Resort. The food was basic, you could always find something to eat and we did not get sick! We were in 300 block which does not have private balconies but once we were able to move to an end room we had achieved that goal as no one could walk by us! We were disappointed in the beach as it was not a good beach to walk on. There was a lot of garbage on it along with broken shells. The location was excellent, lots of places to walk to. Excellent service from our maid Dan [... read more]
Hotel Plaza: Pleasant at first, jaws dropped at room
Went to Cuba beginning of April for cigars mostly ( Cancun airport has NO IN-TRANSIT FACILITY, and I was fully loaded with cigars. Aside from waiting for an hour to exit customs, I was pulled aside for bag search and questioning and feeling extremely anxious until let go, phew. But they didn't seem to have a standard procedure for this and didn't know what to do) I was very prepared for Cuba being extremely third world, but upon arriving at the airport and getting out, I was pleasantly surprised [... read more]
Club Kawama: GREAT VACATION!!
Well first thing is when your on holidays try not to have super high expectations if thats the case then go book a vacation at Sandals or Breezes. The beach is the best beach ever Hawaian style no joke. Clean beach white sand and warm water. The hotel is clean the staff are awesome. We had room 1608 which is the nicer side of Kawama. We ventured out to the 40's and it is a big difference....needs updated and some repairs but the beach bar serves better drinks, better music and better food :) We [... read more]
Hotel Villa Cuba: Beautiful hotel!
Absolutely loved this hotel. Very clean and the food was great. We had our own villa which I would recommend to anyone going to this resort. We had our own pool. We only used the pool once but for people with children it would be great.
Roc Barlovento: Excellent Resort- Adult only
I like the service/staff were wonderful, Grounds kept very clean/, Beach was good/Food was great then any place I have being in other Cuba resorts/some rooms were renovated but still need to work on rooms/ Great Adult resort/ close to Markets/Pools were clean. Restaurants were clean. Bars were just great and available great service.
Club Kawama: Club Kawama Cuba
It was what i paid for 3 stars. The buffet was small and very busy, limited of thing to pick from. The sank bar down to the far end of the resort had the best food. The beach area at this end had the most room and seats. The the staff were great, the front dusk staff where not friendly The bathroom could be cleaner and the two beds where not a king beds.Over all I had a good time, you get what you pay for 3 stars .
Hotel Villa Cuba: Great Weather
Hotel was below average. Had ants in our room. This place is not handicap friendly. Had to use stairs alot. Elevators didn't operate very well. Beach was awesome. Pool was pretty good. Daytime pool entertainment was boring. Buffet was pretty bad. Staff was great. Rooms very clean, but need to be updated. Weather was awesome. Good choice of off-resort tours available at extra cost. Overall, it was still fun. Been here 2 times now, but going elsewhere next.
Club Kawama: Very poor experience
The Ocean and beach were beautiful. Got ripped off when we ordered a safe. It cost $25. We gave $50 and received 7 peso back. The rest was exchange cost. No toilet seat and lots of mold in the rool...ceiling and walls. No light bulbs and no way to adjust air con. Buffet very poor. Service from nice to absolutely rude if not tipped more than $1.... Not recommending this resort.
Roc Barlovento: Mediocre
Still updating the resort. Not enough snack foods and nothing open past 9:30 for food at night. Said bottle of water daily but did not happen. I feel the safe should be included in Roc Plus. Said plus seating at buffet...nope. Staff were extremely rude especially front desk and bartenders!!! Food was ok but never hot. Not near enough chairs at pool or beach. people entered your room thru out the day without permission!! People came to dinner in bathing suits. Just was not the best and this was o [... read more]
Club Kawama: Good budget resort
after a few major hiccups at check in and once we were put in proper rooms the rest of our vacation was smooth sailing. Food was great, always lots of fresh veggies and fruit! Found all the staff to be helpful.
Club Kawama: bad 7 days
first room was awful, no AC, no Hot Water, music till 3 am, had to pay 120 pesos to get a better room. have been to cuba many times since 1995 and never had such a bad reception. the only good thing was the pool and the beach.
Roc Barlovento: Great hotel
The staff very helpful. The food was great very secure resort.Beautiful beach. Great location near Varadero . You can walk to flea market and dine at good restaurant near the resort. Adult only made a big difference met some great people
Occidental Arenas Blancas: disapointed
It was our third time to this hotel. It was getting better previously but this time not at all. First; quality of food decreased. There was a snack bar by the pool which was really appreciated in the past but they close it. We changed our beach towel once in 7 days. Beach long chair are so old that their falling apart and really uncomfortable. I must say that the room was again very comfortable and tidy.
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Great Resort
It suited all of our need. Food was good s the service staff were excellent! Beautiful pool too. Rooms were clean and comfy. Also a short walk to the fun night life. The beach is super clean and the sand is white.
Hotel Villa Cuba: Great Beach Vacation
This resort is currently being re-branded from Villa Cuba to Be Live Experience Varadero. We went for the beach and we were not disappointed. The resort itself is quite dated and is needing up grades, however this is evidently in the works. We did request a new room the day after we checked in as our original room was quite musty. They accommodated this change for us and we were quite happy in our new villa with a private pool. The food was abundant and of good quality. Desserts could use some i [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Convenient, friendly resort
The beach is incredible. The pool area was good. The lack of lounge chairs is a bit frustrating but not enough to ruin a stay. Food was very good. Staff is very friendly. Rooms were comfortable, even the non renovated ones. No complaints.
Club Kawama: Very good, there is always but.....
Very good value for the money, except the room - no balcony, patio, terrace in standard room. You have to take room upgrade at the moment of booking, as it is very expensive when you arrive at the hotel, and not always the rooms are vailale
Club Amigo Ancon: A DECENT RESORT, NOT ALOT OF FRILLS BUT CLEAN!!
RESORT WAS CLEAN, A BIT DATED BUT KEPT NICE, BEDS WERE NOT THE MOST COMFORTABLE, FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT ALOT OF VARIETY, ALACART WAS VERY GOOD, LOTS OF LOCAL ATTRACTIONS, GO ON THE CITY TOUR IT WAS AMAZING !! BEACH WAS CLEAN AND RAKED NIGHTLY, BEAUTIFUL VIEWS !! POOL WAS UNFORTUNATELY UNDER REPAIRS BUT THE NEXT RESORT ALLOWED US TO USE THEIRS SO IT OFF SET THE FACT OURS WAS NOT AVAILABLE !!
Occidental Arenas Blancas: A Great Time
Beach was amazing. Weather was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is very big, as you're able to use both Arenas Blancas and Solymar facilities. The food was only ok, but that's the norm for Cuba.
