Memories Jibacoa: relaxing, but the hotel is not for young couples.

We went on our honeymoon to re-coupe and enjoy the sunshine. The hotel is in good condition, clean and above what you would expect from Cuba. We enjoyed every aspect of our vacation EXCEPT......everybody there was either above 60, or didn't speak English. Although we enjoyed the resort through and through, it really would have been nice to meet other young honeymooners. We wanted to escape the spring break crowd as it is too loud and rowdy and would have ruined our vacation, but this was in the  [... read more]complete polar opposite direction, which is too bad that it doesn't attract more newlyweds as they went the extra mile for us and upgraded us from a standard ocean view room to their tropical suite for free just for that reason! A few people who made our stay a great experience: Kiki who is the lead bellman- he speaks really good English, and he will help you with anything you need! Joe (la girasoles) He was our server for almost all of our dinner services, really great, nice and funny man. Our cab driver and personal tour guide Jeraldo(Jerry), great English, great conversationalist, and very honest, came recommended by Kiki.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful Resort!

The scenery is amazing, the beach on one side and the mountains on another. The pool is absolutely beautiful. The food was pretty good, the rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday. The staff was exceptional! I would definitely recommend this resort to a friend and will definitely coming back to visit the resort again!

Hotel Los Cactus: Superclubs Breezes Varadero

This has been our fourth trip to Breezes Varadero since 1999. We have been to 19 other resorts across the caribbean but none have compared to this jem of a resort. The staff are fabulous and go out of there way to make sure your happy. The resort itself is so lush and beautiful, small enough to get anywhere you may want to go in just a few minutes. Hotel Bella Costa: A better stay in Varadero - still the Cuba we like

Clean, comfortable and well maintained. I have been over 10 times to Varadero and find that this resort provides a atmosphere that is hospitable. The suite we stayed in was very wonderful. The food either at the restaurants or the buffet was really good. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend.

Hotel Los Cactus: Very quiet

Staff is awesome ...grounds are nice ...rooms are very outdated ...not much going on ...you have to entertain yourself ...If you want to go somewhere very quiet this is the place to go ....close to town ....across from the golf course ...

Hotel Los Cactus: Second Time to Breezes Varadero

We enjoyed our second visit to the Breezes Varadero Resort. The rooms are large and clean. The grounds and the beach are beautiful. The food is typical for Cuba. We like all the areas to sit for a quiet drink in the evening.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: the staff make the place

The staff at the Grand Lido are absolutely wonderful. The lamb at the cove bar were out of this world and the people at the cove were down to earth. We made a lot of new friends and will never forget our trip. The resort was nice and small which is what we like; you're not treated like someone on holidays but as a member of their family.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: ran down

This resort was clean, not alot to do. Buffet should be available for all meals. rooms were nice, but myself and friend had to share king bed, was never responded to in regards to another bed . unlimited calls to Canada awesome, wifi great.

Hotel Los Cactus: Cuba Love

Spent March 13-20 at Breezes Varadero and had a fantastic time! The hotel itself is a little tired and desperately in need of a coat of paint, which included our hotel room. I found our room dirty - nothing the cleaning staff could do would make it better - it needs a reno. Shelf in shower falling down, stained mirrors, floors and counter tops. Luckily we did not need to spend much time in our room Spoke to other guests and their rooms were nothing like ours. I was a disappointed with the room considering I was there for my 50th birthday - which we told our travel agent - and still was put into a very dirty room. Hotel was full - there was no moving. That said, we still had a fantastic time! The weather was perfect - hot and sunny everyday and we spent everyday on the beautiful beach, it was heaven. We spent our evenings on the patio of the Lobby Bar. We met so many lovely people - it was a lot of fun. You may notice I haven't mentioned the food - no need. This is Cuba. You do not come for the food. The grill by the beach which was run by the grill master Carlos was great. Don't think it was so much the burgers and hot dogs as it was Carlos - he was great. They also had 1 beach bbq for lunch one day, I really enjoyed that. We ate lunch everyday on the beach, as it should be! On our last night we did go into Varadero City to a restaurant called The Waco Club. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who need a break for the resort food. I would also recommend The Beatles Bar in Varadero City - no cover - outdoor show - Cuban bands covering great Rock 'n Roll Music. A great time!!! Would also like to mention the one day tour into Havana. A must do if you have never been there before. Our Transat representative booked it for us with a company called Cubatur. Our guide Raffy was FANTASTIC! He taught us so much about his country and people we came home with a much better understanding and appreciation for Cuba and it's wonderful people. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. I wasn't impressed with the pool area which is ok, my husband and I are beach people. All in all, we love Cuba, we loved the beach and the night life but did not love the hotel. But we did meet many people who return year after year....their rooms were much nicer than ours. I want to recommend this hotel - fight for a nicer room.

Our room was perfect for our family...except for the ant infestation and not sure what bugs I washed out with hot water in our shower. Wasn't a big deal. Enjoyed the food. The staff were hospitable our cleaning lady was awesome.

Memories Jibacoa: Best of Cuba

Hotel is clean and maintained well. Food is good and the location is 45 minutes to Havana and 30 minutes to Mantanzas. This is quiet and a smaller resort with the best staff I have experienced in my travels. We were there a 2nd year in a row and all the staff remembered us and welcomed us back like family.

Hotel Bella Costa: aa ammzing place to spend a vacation

An excellent place for a family vacation Lots of different things to partake in and the pools are excellent. The beach is fantastic and the waves etc are enjoyable. The units are not americanised but comfortable and bright. Staff is always busy keeping thing in order and friendly. The Breezy Costa Brava is an oldert holiday resort but still gives good service. Food is variable and changes frequently very satisfying and interesting

it was easy to get around. good for peoople who don't like to walk too much.our trans-at rep was very good. the tour we took into havana was an eye opener.flying out of hamilton is wonderful.it was our friends first trip, they loved everything.

The rooms were a bit dated; however, the cleanliness, service and food were excellent. The beach and location of this resort is fantastic. My wife and I came back from this resort two days ago and we will go back.

Hotel Bella Costa: Showing it age

The villas are getting run down and showing its age . I have been to Cuba before and found the food acceptable and usually likabale ,not so much this time very disappointed ,the service was good including the cleaning staff and bar attends . I think that that rating of 4 star is a stretch .

Everything about the resort , the food , the staff was top notch... We did not feel the pressures of tipping because the staff was so helpful we automatically wanted to give gratuity. Clean , timely fashion when needed something, questions answered promptly.,

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Great week!

The staff are lovely people but the management is clueless on how to train them properly which is a shame. A minor tweak could take the service to 4 stars without much effort. But it's 3 star service, 4 star food and accommodation for the Caribbean. I had the best beach vacation of my life mainly because I got to do all the water sports I like and the people who work there and visit there are fun, relaxed, people. I felt like my one week was two weeks, I had so much fun.

Great vacation all round. Clean comfortable accommodation, friendly attentive staff, perfect beach. The beach was amazing! Warm tranquil and crystal clear waters. White powdery sand :) The food was decent and there was always enjoyable selections. Very good value.

Hotel Los Cactus: Nice resort, food needs a lot to be desired

We were warned that you do not go to Cuba for the food, but this is ridiculous. It's not that they do not have different foods; they simply do not know how to prepare it. Considering how well educated the populace is, I do not understand how they cannot read a couple of basic cookbooks to figure out how to prepare meals. Even if it is not part of their culture, they are offering a whole experience to people, and part of this experience is the food. They should make the effort. While I would go b [... read more]ack for the relaxation aspects of the holiday, my wife would probably not go back because a week with substandard food does not make for an enjoyable vacation. By the way, I am from St.Lucia, a poor country based on tourism and I can say that the food is excellent there, so this issue has nothing to do with poverty or lack of resources. Read some cookbooks or hire some chefs!
