Riu Flamingos: A more than pleasant stay

The food was plentiful and the variety was a pleasant surprise, especially since our stay was over a two week period. The hotel staff were fairly knowledgeable and reasonable with our few requests. The sports bar being open 24 hours was also a huge plus. The gym on the premises was everything I could have asked for. The only complaints dealt with the nightly entertainment...they were either very, very good or outright terrible (no in betweens) ... and the hotel would not accept any Americ [... read more]an dollars as their fear of money laundering took priority over our insistence that our U.S dollars were "clean". ( I even went so far as to suggest washing our U.S.dollars with their choice of soap directly in front of them, which they took with the humour that was intended). Finally, the maids were a little spotty with their cleaning...sometimes very, very good and other times hugely inconsistent, and the room, again only on some days, had a peculiar odour originating from the bathroom drains.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: A better holiday once we paid for the upgrade

Booked a basic AI room for a last minute getaway, arriving Feb 2023. The resort looks beautiful from the front driveway, with an awe-inspiring view through the front lobby. Very impressive. The room we were initially given was a bit dingy, dark, and smelled damp. No view. We asked reception about an upgrade, which was available, for an extra charge, the next day. So we stayed in the dingy room one night, then moved to a MUCH better room on day 2. The a la carte restaurants were good - the As [... read more]ian restaurant was our favorite. Gotta get up early, though, to make a reservation at reception! The buffet was alright for breakfast, but only basic at any time of day. The pool canteen for lunch has the best fish tacos! A must have! Getting a sunbed at the pool or beach is near impossible, unless you get up at 4am and put your belongings on them. And even then, other hotel guests moved our things to other beds on two separate days. I guess they were more important people than us lol. The employees working the lobby and the beach bars and the restaurants are all very helpful and welcoming. Be sure to bring your pesos for tipping! The staff really do deserve it - they worked really hard to make sure we were comfortable. And we were!

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Better than the reviews suggest

We were worried after reading the reviews, but pleasantly suprised. I wouldn't book this resort again, but if you've booked don't worry it's a decent place and we had a blast. It's a smaller resort than we were used to, but was family friendly and the staff were great. The buffet was just okay but definitely not bad like the reviews suggest. Our only real issue was we booked a "Tropical view" that was off a loading dock and covered in insulation. They moved us to the 6th floor and everyth [... read more]ing after that was great. But if they didn't this review would be very different.

Secrets Bahia Mita Surf and Spa: Great Resort - Very Large and Beautiful

We stayed for 2 weeks. Grounds are beautiful. We had a Preferred room which was very large with a great hot tub on the balcony. Food was wonderful and such a great variety of food in both the buffet and the varioius restaurants. The house wines offered were a a low quality, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot were poor quality reds. Crown Paradise Club: Very kids friendly and great serivice

This was our first time at this resort. Great service, great people. Food was really good. Hotel needs some touch up after covid I guess. But other than that really happy with our stay. Kids friendly:)

Velas Vallarta: Only ok

This is a beautiful hotel and grounds area. The staff are fantastic. The location is good. The beach is not great and the ocean is to rough to swim in. Not enough loungers around the pool. The very bad part of our trip was the food at this plase is not good. My wife good food poisoning and was very sick for 2 days.

Crown Paradise Golden: Nice location and beach, nice pools, tolerable food and drinks, rooms in need of maintenance

The resort is a short drive from the airport and is situated along a beautiful stretch of beach. RESERVATIONS/CHECK-IN: My wife and I didn't get the room we booked when we checked in and were told we could switch to the room we booked the next day, but when we went the next day we were told there were no rooms available. We also heard stories from other guests that were told they didn't have a room at all when they showed up, and they were told they would have to find a room in another hote [... read more]l and were given brochures for other hotels. In what world could anybody possible think this is Ok ? FOOD/RESTAURANTS: The buffet was just Ok, the lowest quality we have seen in our many years of travelling to all-inclusive resorts. Service in the buffet was good. The reservation system for the restaurants was horrible. You have to make reservations online per room number and have to try to reserve right at 9:00am if you want to have any chance of getting in. You can only reserve for 2 people, so if you're in a group you will have to ask for a table together when you get there. The food was good in the restaurants and the snack bar by the poolside bar was not great but better than the buffet. Not a lot of effort was put into mixing drinks... they rarely tasted the same twice and were low quality. ROOMS: The rooms were OK. Even though we were in tower 3 which is the newest of the rooms, the rooms were broken down and dated. Our fridge and safe didn't work and never did get fixed during our stay, even though we informed the staff of the issues. We were there a week and had a lukewarm shower a couple of days, but it was hot the other days and was nice. POOLS/BEACH: The pools were nice. The swim-up bar on the 7th floor of tower 3 had a great view and was nice and warm. The main pool was pretty good... the water temp was a bit cool but not too bad. The filter panels around the pool were broken up a bit so it looked like it could use a little TLC. The only way to access the swim-up bar was to go up into the hot tub area. The beach area was very nice and seemed to be well kept up, but the constant parade of vendors selling sunglasses and hats and blankets got old pretty fast... the same vendors walked in circles asking us over and over if we wanted to buy something. Getting chairs on the beach or around the pool required you to get up by 4:00am to place your towels on them to reserve them, and hope that nobody stole your towels, which also happened to some people. The chairs go fast, so get out there early! STAFF: Overall the staff was fairly proficient and did what they could with what they were offering.

Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta: Amazing Resort

I would seriously go back to this resort, very beautiful, and well maintained, the grounds,pools, and the whole atmosphere was amazing, the coffee shop is a must, the staff ladies are so nice,and go the mile to please you. The Zen is one if the best, food is delicious, #1 service, The Market, wasn't the greatest, for a buffet, there ain't alot of options at all, when they say American food, there ain't alot, should be more options like,potatoes, fries,pizza and salad bar,and every buffet shoul [... read more]d have meat, The Brazilian is a must ,you want meat, ohhhh ,so much of that there and the service is totally wow....I would return to this resort in the future....

Delfin Beach Resort Puerto Vallarta: False advertising

The hotel has been divided into TWO separate hotels … so we had no adult pool … had to fight to get to use the pool but could not eat or drink on it , even though I was all inclusive … the hotel itself has been neglected ( have stayed there 20 times ) now it’s just dirty and uncared for … maids spend all their time behind their carts texting . Garbage in the hallways for days … the rooms are barely cleaned …dead plants …would NEVER go back . Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Marival Resort

Been to this resort many times & have enjoyed every vacation. Staff have treated us very well. There was confusion with our room requested. Husband has mobility issues & they had us booked in a room with no elevators. We did get a room ground level which worked out well. One of the staff at the Martini Bar was awesome with our big group a smile on her face & worked hard to keep up- her name was Dalia.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful Mexican style resort

This was the first time here and we were very impressed.The grounds were immaculate and the staff very friendly.The food was good and they had an amazing salad bar every lunch..and fresh and raw veg at suppers.There was always a theme night with different choices of meat entrées.The fish was great.The shows were very professional. The rooms are dated and could use some upgrades but clean and air conditioned..Pools well maintained and beach area is beautiful and close.Resort was full so could o [... read more]f used more chairs and palapas...an overall great experience for a 3-4 star resort. Canto Del Sol: Not amazing but what we needed

The food (especially buffet) was not great, but italian restaurant was good (depsite missing menu items). Staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of this resort allowed us to explore what else Puerto Vallarta had to offer.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Would not recommend

Unfortunately our stay was not good. On the second day I hurt my back and could not walk, my husband was told he could not bring me any food that we had to order room service ( they did waive the fee); when I called I was told she had to call the kitchen and she would call me back. After 3 1/2 hours I had not heard back. I called and asked about a wheel chair and was informed it was $125/day. When I explained I only needed it to go get food they allowed us to get one. The room was not properly  [... read more]cleaned; the sheets were changed once (the day before we left, we were there for 14 days) The food was sub standard; the hotel cleanliness was sub standard; in the morning after the pool was supposedly cleaned we pulled out a large cock roach, the scum around the edge of the pool was very gross, it really needed to be scrubbed. The service was horrible, but I must say the 2 hostesses and only 1 waiter were amazing. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Not impressed

When we arrived they said they did not have our reservation. So we gave them our paperwork, which they did not return that had our flight tickets attached. It took an hour or more for them to assign us a room, and then the reservation said 4 days which should have been 8 days. We had to be out of our room by noon on check out day even though the bus did not pick up until 2 pm. Staff that did speak English were pretty good but they’re were not many.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Nice to be back!

After a 3 year hiatus, we returned to the Royal Decameron Complex for a much needed vacation. The resort was much the same as when we last stayed. The grounds are well maintained, it is very clean and the staff are friendly. The rooms could use an upgrade, particularly the beds that are very hard. The water pressure and temperature was good, we stayed in block 6 and enjoyed hot showers every day. The food is decent, buffet style so lots of choices. Though not a 5 star resort, the Royal Decameron [... read more] Complex is a lovely vacation spot on the beach and close to all the amenities in Bucerias.

Crown Paradise Club: Nice Resort

The children's park and play area was amazing, but green areas were lacking at the resort. Most of the resort is concrete. Staff were absolutely stellar and did all that they could to assist us. Room cleaning was somewhat lacking. We removed the sheets on our beds after six days so that they would be changed. We do understand saving water is very important and we did reuse our towels for several days to help out. Booking specialty restaurants was not efficient. At exactly 9:01 the entire hotel [... read more] was using the QR code attempting to book a restaurant. The buffet restaurant offered a lot of variety and the three specialty restaurants on the Club side of the resort were excellent. We had access to the adult side as well and the specialty restaurants on that side were sadly lacking. The Club side of the resort is much, much nicer than the adult side.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Amazing resort !

This was the best resort we’ve ever been to . It was beautiful spacious and clean . Everything was perfect from the food to the rooms and the beach , we loved it and would go back in a heartbeat ! Just don’t fly with Sunwing , they almost ruined it for us

Canto Del Sol: We will Return!

This is our second stay at Canto. We would not hesitate to return again. The staff over all are really good and a few go way over and above and treat you like family. We met several guests who have been going there for years and plan to go back next year. We had an issue with the faucet in the bathroom and it was addressed right away. It became an issue again and again it was fixed right away and was fine for the rest of our stay. The 3 pools were open as well as all 8 restaurants and all were busy. We appreciated the selections that gave us. When we look for a vacation to PV we compare everything to Canto and unless prices there severely increase compared to other places, we will definitely return. Note that the pools were great. It is on the beach but the Pacific is quite rough and space on the beach is limited. For us it is a good beach to walk but not to swim.

Staff were all so amazing, grounds were well maintained, pool area, restaurants, beach areas were always being cleaned. Very Mexican and quaint. We will return for sure as this location is perfect, can walk into town via street or beach safely

Riu Flamingos: Super Clean Resort!

Everywhere you look there was staff mopping floors, wiping tables, and cleaning off counters! Our rooms were cleaned spotless every day as well. Great service too! We had requested a minibar refill and they came up within 10 minutes! Super quick and friendly service!
