Sandals Grande St Lucian: Amazing trip for first time or carefree travelling
Beautiful resort. Staff was amazing and friendly. Very simple travel experience, where all inclusive was truly all inclusive. We did pay for one excursion outside of the resort, JJ's Speedboat Tour, which was worth every penny!

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: A paradise for the families!
We traveled to Coconut Bay resort at the beginning of November, and had a fantastic time. As a family with two small children, we greatly appreciated all the amenities that this resort offers: splash pad, kids club, petting zoo, family friendly pools and water slides.
The food was top notch, we were in absolute culinary bliss the entire time. Having previously stayed in many well known resort chains, such as Gran Bahia, Riu, Decameron, we have to admit that the food selection and quality at Coco[... read more]nut Bay has exceeded our expectations. Must mention the beautiful desert table at the end of every meal and custom order made ice cream... yum! We learned that the chef at the resort has received numerous prizes as a top pastry chef in West Indies... And it definitely shows.
The beach, although does not boast beautiful turquoise water as seen on Caribbean side of the island, is nonetheless nice, some turtle grass (has no seaweed odour) and soft sand.
A special thank you to all the wonderful and friendly staff at the resort - everybody seemed to be genuinely friendly and even going out of their way a few times to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
Also, can't beat the location of the resort, literally 2 min away from Hewanorra Int'l airport. After a long 5 hrs flight with two cranky kids, we were ready to begin our vacation in no time. There are so many positives about this resort, that we definitely marked it already into "we will be back" category. The island of St. Lucia is simply gorgeous and is great for exploring. The rooms (we stayed in the family friendly "Splash" side) are well appointed, and, while not Ritz Carleton, offer a great value for travelling with kids.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Gorgeous resort
I was pleasantly surprised by this resort as we had never visited a Sandals property. We arrived in the evening so at first glance, we felt that the resort was a bit outdated as the photos show a much nicer/newer property (photoshop?) but when the sun came out, it was absolutely beautiful. The food was superb. The service was excellent. The staff weren't as friendly as in other resorts but I wonder if it's because in other resorts they expect to be tipped. Not the case here. If you're looking fo[... read more]r a relaxing vacation with beautiful grounds and delicious food, this is the spot for you. I would definitely visit another Sandals resort on another island.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Very nice resort!
This was our second trip to this resort and we were there the week of October 23rd.The grounds are beautiful and very tropical. Compared to last year my biggest issue was the negative attitude that a number of staff exhibited. Also the lack of in room alcoholic beverages was disappointing, this is only provided to club or butler guests. The charge for wifi was also unimpressive given the cost of a Sandals vacation. We did not receive our returning member gifts..I then visited the Soon come back [... read more]office on our last day and only then did they offer a couple of t-shirts. I did not appreciate the fact that more than half of the main pool chairs were reserved by the butlers very early in the morning. This created a competition amongst the other non-butler guests to wake up early (6:30am) and reserve their own chairs, typically the remaining chairs were all taken by 8:00am...not exactly a relaxing start to your day.
This time around we brought 12 new Sandals guests with us, which I mentioned to the front desk and unfortunately it was never acknowledged. It would have been nice to have received a dinner reservation that could have accomodated all of us.
We had a great time because our group of friends were terrific, the weather was really nice and the food was very good.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Worth the $$
Grounds, room, and public spaces were all impecable. Food and beverage well above average. Service was amazing 95% of the time .
From the time you are wisked into the private Sandals lounge at arrival until your departure, you are pampered !!
If you suffer from motion sickness take gravel before the 1 - 1.5 hour ride to the resort from the hotel - the road is windy but the driver does check in often with everyone to ensure everyone is ok. I suffer terribly from motion sickness but I asked to sit[... read more] up front right by the driver and was fine
The variety and quality of food and wine was fabulous (my hubby is an amateur chef and was impressed) Be sure to make your reservations for Komono's and La Toc as soon as you get there - we did and got the days and times we wanted for both. Also, not to be missed is the Pitons restaurant. Also found the Tapas at the Pavillion to be great. Armando's for breaskfast is not worth the walk up the hill as the buffet has lots of variety and Chevron will cook you an egg any way you like it!
Special thanks to Alice, Moise, Andrew, Renya(?) and John (to name just a few) for all the great serivce. Because the service is so great in general you really notice those employees who are not having a good day or who perhaps need some refresher training.
If you take a minute to be polite and show genuine interest in the staff you quickly realize how warm and opened they are. We had lots of great conversations and learned lots about the culture in St Lucia
Sandals allows you to go to the other resorts (convenient shuttle provided) and it is worth checking them out - confirmed to us that La Toc was the right place for us.
We sampled food at the other resorts and it was equal to La Toc.
Spa experience was great - both of my serivce providers were every bit as good as those I enjoy here in Toronto. The front desk could be a little more organized.
Going off resort is safe and the scenery is worth the effort. We did not take an organized tour but rather hired a taxi and made our own agenda for the day (volcano mud bath, mineral water fall, bananna plantation, rum distillery, Casteries market, local lunch in Soufrier as arranged by our driver). We really enjoyed the day.
La Toc is a big resort and worth exploring all the areas. There are actually 3 pools and we enjoyed the quieter one at the top of the hill near the newer rooms.
The beach is great and water is warm - we never had trouble finding seats on the beach and spent lots of time playing in the waves.
A couple of suggestions:
1) Sandals should consider banning the "saving" of pool charis with towels - most of the time no one is using the chair and those who would like to sit for a while have to really search for a spot - if you are more than 2 people it is almost impossible
2) In keeping with being environmental, Sandals may consider converting the golf carts and shuttles to electric motors - this would eliminate the heavy gas smell that sometimes wafted through the main lobby
3) It would be nice to have the option of staying in the "butler suite" but not have the service of the butler. I am not confortable with the butler idea but would love to have the option of choosing one of the super luxury rooms for my stay.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definatley return
We had never been to a Sandals before and were skeptical about spending the extra money but in the end we were pleased we did.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Beautiful Time at La Toc!
My wife and I went to La Toc for our Honeymoon and had an incredible time! If you are going and booking a butler suite ask for Christus & Sidney and you will have the time of your lives! The food is incredible and resort is beatiful. My only advice is that when we first arrived without a butler level room there are many exclusions (room service, dinner at some restaurants, and stocked bar in your room are not included)

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Relaxing Resort.
After a 90 minute scenic drive we arrived at the resort. The employees are very friendly but it took a long time before we could go to our room because of shortage of carts. The rooms are freshly painted and clean, with very good working airconditioners. There is a mini fridge in the room but when we checked it was empty and you have to buy your own water bottles and pop which was kind of expensive.
Our favorite place to hang out was the newly opened coffee bar , the specialty coffees and pastrie[... read more]s are amazing and the girls are great!! Thanks for the super service and smiles. The restaurants are very good as is the buffet. The only thing at the buffet could improve is the temperature of the food.
The beach is nice, with lots of things to do. The water is not blue but a bit sandy that doesn't let you see much when you like snorkeling. The free waterskiing and bananaboating are great and the kids loved them.
The entertainment is very good we enjoyed the steeldrum bands and the fire limbo dancers very much.

Sandals Halcyon Beach: Simply Paradise!
This resort was beautiful, small and was a place to really enjoy your time as a couple. If you are looking for peace and quiet Sandals Halcyon is the place for you. This was the first time since our honeymoon 26 years ago that we were able to go away on our own and we really enjoyed being a couple again. Very romantic and the grounds are beautiful. The staff are very friendly and will go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. This is one of the older sandals resorts in St Lucia and the ro[... read more]oms could use a bit of up dating but they were very clean and to me that's important. The food was fantastic. l found a lot of healthy choices which was important to us we like to eat healthy. l would of liked to see more seafood on the menu as we are fish lovers. The best part is when you stay at one sandals in St Lucia you can visit the other 2. We did visit the other 2 but it was always nice to come home to the Halcyon. We did a full day excursion JOE KNOWS hands down was a lot of fun and you got to see beautiful St Lucia. We also did the Romantic Dinner on the beach a must do as well worth the $ . Overall we had the time of our lives. Thank you Halcyon for our week in Paradise. One day we will return for sure.

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Dated, but clean, friendly and good food
This hotel is definitely 80's style or older? The people were very friendly, the rooms spotless, and the best bartenders!
Make sure you meet De Joeker at the lobby bar,and Morgan at the swim up,who we beat at flip cup,but was a sore loser.
The food was good, buffet better than expected. Don't miss the calabash restaurant ,but you can skip silk, and the Capri.
Entertainment was surprising good, lots of pools, never waited for a drink, most people never tipped!
The beach was constantly covered in seawe[... read more]ed,which the resort tried to clean, but it was a losing battle.
Come here for the island...see the pitons, rainforest, volcano, hot springs!
If you want a nicer resort which you never leave,go to DR,it's cheaper.
This is by far the nicest island I've been to,and the resort is 3+ to 4 stars,
Definitely worth it.

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Not All Inclusive
This resort is not all inclusive as they charge extra for premium food and 27 US per person if you want to go to the air conditioned restaurant. The room fridge is not stocked w/ alcohol. Overall the food was okay, my wife was sick from the hamburgers at the kids pool. The kids club was non existent and the water at the beach was not clear the whole time we were there. There is no food after supper so if you get hungry you need to go off resort or wait until breakfast. The elevator was broken, t[... read more]he kids were served alcoholic drinks the first night we were there, thank God we caught it , etc ,etc. If we had paid less it wouldn't have bothered me, but we ended up paying 5700 for two adults and 2 kids under 5 (which barely eat or drink they should have been free). Hence the poor rating and we won't be going back

1.) excellent service
2.) loved that all the activities were included (we learned how to sail), went water skiing a few times
3.) Food was great, lots of variety, fresh salads! I am a bit of a foodie and was very pleased.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Smaller intimate resort
We chose this resort precisely because it was a smaller resort. Service at the restaurants, bars and by the pool was never too long. However we had 2 bad experiences one at the pub and one at the beach grill with bad service. Waiting without so much as a glass of water, or menu while there were several staff on the floor and at the bar. We sat there for at least 10 mins before having to call someone over. (Only a handful of tables was occupied) The other was an extrememly rude bartender that lef[... read more]t me standing waiting while she did prep and cleanup and did not so much as look at me while I was the only guest the counter. She was rather nasty and abrupt when she finally spoke to me. The rest of the service was great. The room was in a great location. If you want to nap in the afternoon, get something away from the pool area as you will hear music and games going on. Cleaners were good at the beginning of the week, but lacking later during our stay. Empty glasses left in the room and sometimes floors were not cleaned. (Sand and Hair in bathroom). Fridge was stocked but with water and juice only. Secrets resort in Punta Cana, Domincan Rep. gets 100% for providing alcoholic beverages and snacks. Front desk staff and people at the tour counter are quite good and clearly well trained. The tour we took on the Sandals boat for snorkelling was dirty. The head (bathroom) in the boat was not woman friendly to say the least. Odour and improper lighting and wet floor = safety issues. Not what we expected from a Sandals. Gym was ok and the food was excellent in the Italian restaurant. Next time we will use more of the facilities and water sports activities at the sister resorts. We did one dinner at the restaurant on the pier. Excellent food and service there. Not to mention beautiful location. After dark not much lighting so go as early as possible to get a view. Beach was short but well kept. Only a few vendors who will leave you alone if you don't want anything. Would give this resort a rave review if only we didn't have those 2 bad experiences - not what the Sandals image advertises.

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Highly recommended
We went for our honeymoon. We'd been to the Carribean a few times but this was our first time in St Lucia and our first time staying at a Sandals resort and a definite step up in price for us. With that in mind we were really hoping for an amazing vacation.
First of all St Lucia in general is incredible and the view from this resort helps you constantly appreciate that. All you have to do is look out over the water and you remember you're in paradise. There are lots of tours available right from[... read more] the beach (Benny's boat tour recommended) and you can easily walk to Pigeon island (great use of a few hours).
The service was consistently good. The bartenders were mostly engaging and creative with their cocktails. Food didn't blow us away but was always good. The facilities were great although we didn't use the gym or the spa (though they will hound you every day to get you into the spa!). The staff are all pretty friendly and want you to have a good time and there's a wide range of activities around the pool throughout the day from bingo to trivia to other more lively competitions... At night it usually got pretty quiet, which we actually didn't mind because we were usually pretty exhausted, but there was always a show or you could hang out in the english bar.
Of the other two Sandals resorts we only went to La Toc once for dinner and never saw the Halcyon so we can't say for sure, but I think the Grande was the best - mainly based on the view and the location in the bay. I wasn't a big fan of using the shuttle because it took at least 30 minutes one way and although it was cool to see another resort I didn't really want to waste time on a bus when we could be enjoying our own resort.
Overall - highly recommend this spot and even more highly recommend St Lucia as a destination. I'm not sure that what we got completely justified the jump in price from places we were used to going to, but I have no regrets choosing here for our honeymoon. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back when we can afford it.

Smugglers Cove Resort and Spa: Smugglers Cove: Great Memories
My boyfriend and I went to Smuggler's Cove Resort in February 2014 and stayed for 1 week. After the six hour flight from Montreal we finally arrived at the airport to which we were greeted by several camper-style mini vans ready to drive us to the resort. The drive was an hour and a half long. Overall we had a great time, every expectation was met. The room was lavished with rose petals when we walked in, the bed was comfy and we got premium t.v. stations like HBO and my fiance even got to watch[... read more] the Olympic gold medal hockey game. Food at the Cove was good, if the lines were long I would walk past everyone and grab a plate, set myself up at the outside of the restaurant as I am not one for lines. The cats alongside the buffet were cute and many guests enjoyed feeding them bits of steak or tuna at times although some got mad. Food between meals was available, ice cream, pizza, hamburgers and hotdogs. Also we could come and go at the buffet as we pleased and on Creole food night we ate 3 suppers it was so good! Rodney Bay is a must-see, go to Super J and grab a big bottle of Denros Strong rum for 10$ usd, cartons of B&H for 20$ usd and the drive was 15$ usd each way but other guests had paid much more. We got locked out of the room one day because the keycard reader battery died but Marsha at management took care of us and we were sent carpenters who helped us get in and replaced the batteries. Bar lines were long at times. On the first day my fiance got lost on the resort and Jonathan the groundsman helped guide him to breakfast, they ended up striking a good friendship as the trip went on.
All in all, Saint Lucia was fun and exciting, food was great and people were kind.
The resort is massive in size, there are acres of exotic plants growing in the surrounding estate and a great golf course nearby.

BodyHoliday Saint Lucia: Nice relaxing vacation
Stay March 3-10 2014
First trip to St Lucia (usually travel to Mexico about 6 times a year staying in some of the better 5 star resorts) Secrets Maroma, Excellence Playa Mujueres, Paradisus La Perla and Iberostar Grand etc.
We had one of the two suites in the resort, we enjoyed the restful solitude of this traditional style resort. While the rooms are somewhat dated, they are well maintained and clean. If I were to have one complaint about the room it would be the bath/shower, it was very diffic[... read more]ult to access!
The resort itself is situated in a somewhat secluded little cove giving you plenty of privacy from the outside world. One thing that stood out to me was the overall staff, everyone I encountered seemed genuine in their effort to please. In saying that, most of the staff appeared to enjoy what they were doing. Having that positive vibe around only enhanced our experience at TBH!
Food was good to very good with a nice wine list. The Lobster Thermador was very good and worth the extra charge. Alcohol selection though not a priority was alright.
Included spa treatments were alright though not anything special. I found for the most part many of the staff giving the treatments seemed to be going through the motions. There were a few of the staff in the spa that were quite good and seemed to take the job seriously, others I would question (perhaps a management issue). Paid treatments I experienced were not worth the money in my opinion.
While I have noted some of what I consider things that need to be improved, overall it is a very good experience that I would recommend although it may not be terrific value if that's a concern.
BTW the helicopter transfer from the airport to the Castries is worth the money (especially the return flight to the airport, flying beside the Pitons)

We had an amazing time on our honeymoon! I don't usually travel well but it was a great time!
The food was excellent, the activities were fun, staff very friendly and a very quiet relaxing place to be!
It was a small resort but you had access to the busy resorts close by for free.
Because it was small we got to meet a bunch of nice people :)
I would go again in a heartbeat :)

We stayed in a butler suite up on the bluff and it was amazing! Beautiful sunsets and butler service was amazing! Rooms clean, food great, beach beautiful! Butler is the only way to go!
