Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Lovely Resort.

The hotel was very nice, the people were amazing always smiling trying to make our vacation great,they couldn't do enough for us. The only thing was it was so far away from anything.I would go back again and yes I would recommend it to my friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Wonderful Resort. Part of Bahia Principe Complex

Very pleased with our stay at the Esmeralda. Very friendly Staff, beautiful clean pools and grounds, lovely sand beach, great food, gorgeous clean restaurants and room with modern bath. All terrific. Special care given to us by Julio! Loved the fact they sanitized hands as you enter food services. Nothing negative to report from me!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort but getting too busy.

Our third visit....great location, beautiful quite beaches to explore. Excellent restaurants with a wide variety of well prepared and tasty dishes....you will gain weight! We love the many trees that provide shade at the beach and pool. The resort added rooms this year and it is noticeably busier making it hard to find a lounge chair at the beach or pool. The resort added a sheltered seating area and patio areas providing extra space to enjoy an evening cocktail. We continue to recommend this resort but suggest you keep an eye on future reviews.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing Resort

Resort is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and helpful always asking how we like Jamaica and the resort. Rooms were very spacious, grounds very well maintained. Food was best we've had so far. Will definitely return.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beyond Expectations!

My husband and I travelled with my elderly mother for two weeks to the Bahai Principe Don Pablo Luxury Ambar resort. Mom travels with a walker and we had no problems. We stayed in the Ambar 1 section and it was the best vacation we have had with my mom. The resort was well maintained and run by friendly, happy staff who always went the extra step to make all of us feel like pampered family. Buffet and restaurant food was top notch and varied. No restaurant reservation problems...though you can r [... read more]eserve ahead on line for the popular restaurants, we had no issues. All the extra touches were there: special coffees, crepes, tequila bar, fresh fruit served at the pool, Zumba fitness every day, mariachi band on Mexican night, chocolate cart in the lobby just for fun, beach party, trolley rides to rest of resort, music for dancing in lobby every night. Beach area is large and well maintained and even has wooden boardwalks up to designated wheelchair shade huts throughout beach. Definitely pick this one...the Don Pablo Luxury Ambar lives up to its name!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Family Resort

The resort, service was great. Amenities super clean. Rooms 3-4 star. Food 5-star. Only two pools at Akumal though. The beach is steps away and is nice and clean. Bring snorkels! Only annoying thing is the time share guys trying to get your attention everytime you pass them one the way to dining room.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Paradise !

Amazing location! Gardens and beaches are very beautiful. Villas more than meet your expectations. An abundance of good food choices. Always friendly service with a can do attitude. Quiet and relaxing. Simply paradise.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: 600 university students staying at GBP Punta Cana

We stayed in the Royal Golden Club of the GBP Punta Cana. The GBP is a resort that has 5 smaller resorts combined into one big resort. There is a total guest capacity of 5000 people. The size of the resort worked well for our family as we could chose to walk or take a trolley - the trolleys were constantly running and there was very little time to wait for one. The beach was a typical Punta Cana beach, although there were few chairs available in the shade. The pools were nice, we preferred the ' [... read more]quiet' pool and we didn't have a problem finding chairs at 9 am. The buffet restaurants served lots of food but the food that should be hot was almost always lukewarm. The restaurant service was ok, not great...it was often difficult to get someone to serve you a beverage. The grounds were very well cared for, although there was some damage done to the fences and restaurant decor by the university students staying there. The resort had a well marked 2.4km running track throughout the grounds which was very nice to have. I also used the gym which was small but well maintained and I didn't see anyone waiting more than a few minutes to use a machine. The entertainment was good, in addition to the main shows, there were bands or DJ'S in the lobby in the evening. The circus show was amazing! By far the worst thing about the resort was the 600 university students who stayed at the Punta Cana resort as part of 'Campus Vacations'. They were disuptive, inconsiderate and many used vulgar and disgusting language despite there being children around. They would wake us up at night usually at 3 am and 5 am as they were travelling to the beach snack bar. The GBP corporate office makes the decision to allow student groups onto their resorts and when I spoke to the on site coordinator of Campus Vacations, she said there will continue to be student groups at the resort from now (we traveled in February) until June. Despite the good features of this resort, the presence of the student group means that we will never travel to a GBP resort again in the future. The resort did not have enough security to control the rude and obnoxious behavior of many of the students.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Don't pay extra to go there

definitely not a 5 star as service was the pits. Grounds were nice, buffet good but had nothing but issues. Went to Cuba last year and found the people spoke much better English than DR xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Good Value for the money

Nice gardens, similar to other Bahia Principe hotels I've stayed at. Nice long beach, due to the layout of the complex. Instead of the buildings running from the beach to deep inland, it is spread out widely along the shore with only 4 or 5 bungalows deep.The beach is longer than it is wide, with lounges spread from one end of the complex to the other. But the water is murky (probably due to the wave breakers they have in place). Food was great and the Mediterranean restaurant was amazing! Servi [... read more]ce can be a little slow if you are not sitting in the right area at the buffet. The only downer is the long ride to the airport. It is well over an hour to the Puerto Plata airport and about and hour and 45 minutes to the Samana airport.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Fantastic

Big resort but you don,t notice it as it is so well planned. Everything flows so well. Loved it. Would not hesitate to go back. Beach is beautiful. Right in front of sunken ship. Beware of time share people though.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Resort!

The food was unreal. There was always so much food to choose from. The 24 hour snack bar was also very handy. The staff were incredibly friendly. We had a great time hanging out at all pools as well as at the beach.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Very Nice Resort

We went in early Feb. peak time, hadn't been to a resort at this time before. Lots of staff & very attentive to your needs, except the Resort was HUGE we got dropped off in our villa, they didn't take the time to tell us which trolly to get on, so we got lost that night & felt like we walked 10 miles. And the next morning was orientation & we got on the wrong trolly so got lost again & missed the orientation, oh & no map. We spent the whole week helping many people who were lost. We really enjoy [... read more]ed the buffet. We did 2 a la carte restaurants & were not impressed, it was so hard to get the reservation in the first place. Our biggest pet peeve was to get a chair either at the beach or the pool. People reserved a chair with a towel at 6:00 a.m. at both & never did use them. That part sucked. We had rain almost everyday, we were glad that we were on the 2nd floor since the people below us got flooded. They did provide umbrellas in the closet, except we had to ask twice to get one. Our maid Danielle was Great & our room was very clean. Oh & the last day they didn't have any beach towels, since it had rained & everybody traded their wet two for a dry one. Our travel agent suggested that we go with the Golden pkg. definitely not worth it suppose to get 4 reservations for restaurants, hard pressed to get a res. at all. Slippers in the room were the only perk that was nice. The rum in the room was Dominican so big deal. Would we go again no.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great resort

Beautifully maintained resort. Clean and relaxing surroundings. We experienced special caring treatment travelling with 2 young children. The buffet choices had variety and food was delicious. We enjoyed the a la carte as well in particular the Don Pablo and the Brazilian restaurant. It was very convenient to Swim with the Dolphins right at the resort. My granddaughter loved the dolphin experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Awesome trip!

This resort was fantastic! The food was of good quality (although the buffets did get a little repetitive), the two a la cartes that we did (Bella and Maiko) were excellent. Top quality service. The resort, including our room was super clean. The beach and pools were awesome. Yes, there was a little seaweed but the staff were always cleaning it up. There was plenty to keep us busy and we look forward to going back.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great stay for a birthday!

We stayed at the Sian Ka'an for my 30th Birthday and had a great time! We had a pent house suite with a jacuzzi which was filled (with a few snags) when requested. The food at the buffet is fantastic and had lots of choices. We found the a la cartes hard to book and slow when we were there. Especially the Oasis at Coba was slow and the food was cold and not overly flavourful. If you can, get a reservation to Alux. Best meal we had while we were there. The rooms were spacious and updated but the  [... read more]air conditioning didn't really take the moisture out of the room. At one point the AC was set to 10C and the room was at 22C. They sent a repair person 3 times and we finally gave up because it was at least tolerable. The staff at the pool bar were awesome and attentive and always made sure our drinks were full! The activities staff were excellent as well and kept the pool area interested in various activities. They even had the whole pool since me happy birthday. We did have a "run in" with one of the members of the team when we requested that a speaker that had been put at the head of our deck chairs be turned down. He actually yelled at my father in law and said if we wanted it quiet we should leave and go to the quiet pool. We were shocked at his attitude and the fact that he was willing to yell at us especially since we only requested it be turned down one notch and not off completely. Luckily his attitude improved the next day. Overall we had a great time with just a few minor issues that were made better by having a mojito! They really could focus a little more on customer service but we'd still likely go back.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Paradise

This resort was outstanding. I can't wait to go back. Everywhere you look there is such beauty. The rooms where luxurious and I would be hard pressed to complain about anything. A week is too short! My next trip will be at least 10 days.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Amazing beach

resor is starting to show its age, but still a good value. The beach is amazing as is the weather and staff treat you like royalty at all times. The aka cart restaurants have a very nice ambience and the buffet is well stocked.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Money well spent

We just returned from this resort and would return as a couple. The grounds are very well kept and look lovely. The rooms are spacious suites - in very good condition. There is lots of variety in the food selection and quality was very good. Although we did not travel with children there did not appear to be much there for teens. Lots for children under age 10. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Lots of fun

The resort is great, the food is excellent, wish we could have gone to the Italian restaurant but it is only open 3 days of the week, so chances are slim that you would get a reservation. The excursions were fun. The grounds are large but not unmanageable, takes about 15 minute walk from the main office to the beach.... Normal walking speed.
