Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: A week in paradise!

Our room was bright, clean and spacious. Toilet was a bit leaky so our bathroom floor was always wet. Our bar fridge was stocked every day with beer and soft drinks. Our villa was close to dining, pools and beach. Beach is a bit rocky, so not the best for long walks. Always lots of chairs available - beach and poolside. Good selection at buffet, great drinks. Good variety of a la carte restaurants. Entertainment at night was enjoyable. Staff was friendly and helpful. A good offering of [... read more] excursions (we did the catamaran and tours of Mayan ruins). Didn't want to leave! Hope to be back again soon

Grand Sunset Princess: Huge resort close to town

Great place seem like there was always a buffet open if not bbqs set up by the pool and taco stands. Resort wasn’t a fan of the “smoking” almost had the police called. Only 20 buck cab in to playa delcarmen so easy to get in to town for night life.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort . Stayed 2 weeks from Jan27th to Feb.10th.

First impression's count. Samuel Flores Gonzales at reception was excellent - efficient and very personable.. The buffet restaurant Amaranto for really good. Excellent food selection. The captain of the buffet Ricardo Valdes is so nice,helpful,professional and on the ball.It was really a pleasure to relate to him on all levels. Manuel Mtz and Hilario work very hard also to make your stay enjoyabledeee. We really enjoyed the Steak House and Italian. Entertainment - the Circus and Fire shows [... read more] were the best.Hector Fuentes from the entertainment team deserves a special recommendation. A great personality and very engaging. Notables- Executive Chef Alan truly in command of the hotel. It was funny seeing him riding his bike away from beach restaurant. The beach restaurant has the best pizza. Chef Alan and sous chef Ricardo and their team put on a super bowl extravaganza. We will be revisiting this hotel.

Ocean Maya Royale: Superb Staff

The grounds are very well maintained and public areas kept exceptionally clean. Food at the buffet is above average and the specialty restaurants are excellent. Pools are well maintained with plenty of beds etc and pool service is efficient. Only disappointment is the beach (a lot of seaweed) over which the hotel has no control. It is raked daily in attempting to keep tidy. All staff are tremendous, friendly, polite and humorous.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Fabulous Resort

From the pickup at the airport in a private vehicle, our stay was just amazing. The staff was exceptional in ensuring our stay was a memorable one. The food was great and the drinks were awesome. I have no complaints about this resort. Just fabulous!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing place for vacation!

Second time in Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort. Just came back a week ago and ready to go back.Quiet and relaxing holiday, very friendly and smiling staff always ready to help. Beach and ocean amazing. A good place for snorkeling. We will definitely come back, although we are afraid that if they spread this place (they have in the plan to build 60 villas) will lose their charm.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Great Resort

We loved the place. Great for adults and kids alike. The staff was great and the buffet amazing. Had child minding services that were great. The room and facilities were kept at an amazing level of clean.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Fantastic Resort!

The first nice thing about the resort is that it's close to the Cancun airport, so you'd not stuck on a bus for an hour. It was about 20 minutes away. You're also not on the main Cancun strip, so there aren't all types of people from other places wandering the beach, or heaps of vendors like most resort beaches. The whole resort was beautiful, with lovely pools, great restaurants and a lot of space where you could just hang out and relax. The buffet was impressive, with a huge variety, but o [... read more]f all types of really amazing food. We could have eaten something different and really delicious there every day. The other restaurants were great too; we tried the steak house, Italian restaurant and the seafood restaurant in the Hideaway. The Hideaway section was everything you'd want in the adult section of a resort. It had its own lounge/reception for check-in, questions, cash exchange, etc. It even had a small bar and always had fruit and snacks on hand. Each floor had a concierge who could give you a printed itinerary each day with the day's activities, entertainment, opening and closing hours of restaurants/bars. There was always music coming from the pool bar, water and out of the pool activities, so it was a fun vibe. But there were quieter spots at other sections of the pool as well. The beach was beautiful, and like at the pool, you could always find a lawn chair. There were always towels, and waiters came by frequently to fill drink and food orders. There was a beach bar that always played music, but again, you could be further away from it if you wanted some quiet time. The room was beautiful as well. I was sharing with a friend and we had 2 queen beds, though most rooms in that section have a king. A bonus, the beds were really comfortable, which I find isn't often the case in resorts.The room was very clean, and the staff was always very accommodating when we requested things for the mini bar, toilet paper, anything really. There was a huge tub and an amazing walk in shower, with a built in bench, two rain shower heads and another telephone shower head. As a guest of the Hideaway, you still have access to all other sections of the resort so you can enjoy really everything on site. The evening entertainment was nice and there were a few bars, as well as a small club where you could hang out. The staff everywhere on site was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this resort and will certainly return if heading back to the Cancun area. I had an absolutely fantastic time!

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great place

Friendly helpful staff loved the layout. Tripcentral rep Diane was amazing getting me in on such short notice. My mother required a wheel chair and consieur took care of getting one delivered and picked up after. place is wheel chair accessable.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Visit Jan 29 to Feb 8th

The resort is great good for families and couples. I loved the 25 meter pool and the gym. The resort is exceptionally maintained, staff are very friendly and helpful. ala carts were good my favourite was the Tokyo and Santa Fe restaurants.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Sub Par Experience

The resort itself was nothing spectacular, the rooms were average; we had an ocean view room where you had to hang off the balcony to actually see the ocean. There was also a VERY strong sewage smell in the bathroom a few mornings and we requested a king and ended up with two doubles instead with no chance of changing as "nothing was available" despite them not even looking through their system to verify. The food was hit and miss. All the buffets were pretty terrible but most buffets are so  [... read more]I wasn't really surprised. And for the most part the a la carte restaurants were good. It's worth noting that despite this being an all inclusive resort, they put big restrictions on what you are actually allowed to consume. Alcohols are very specific and anything above average is for "VIP only". I can't tell you how many times I was told this on our short stay. Also, there isn't much to do at night at this resort, and the main bar has a number of pool tables and air hockey tables that you have to pay for, so be prepared to spend extra money while you're at this resort. The staff were the most surprising part about this vacation. 90% of the staff we interacted with were rude and arrogant and were quick to dismiss you so as not to have to do anything additional. I must say however the cleaning staff were incredibly sweet and down to earth. Lastly, this next part goes towards Sunquest Vacations and not the resort itself. I would NEVER book another trip through this travel agency again. The airport shuttle both to and from the airport were a nightmare. When we arrived, it took about 15 minutes just to locate the gentleman who was to drive us and then we waited another 30 minutes before he passed us on to another driver to take us to the resort. On the way back, we had to confirm our transportation with a representative at the resort. After having an appointment, we waited around for 25 minutes before she arrived. And after finding out our departure date and realizing she couldn't sell us any excursions she was brisk and snappy and quick to stop waisting her time. Now for the morning of our return flight home. Our shuttle NEVER even showed up to take us to the airport, despite being 30 minutes early. We waited an additional hour before deciding to take a $70 cab ride to the airport ourselves ... deciding that was cheaper than missing our flight. We continuously asked the staff at the resort if there were any delays with our shuttle and they all kept saying "it's coming, don't worry". Finally we asked another shuttle driver from a different travel agency and they told us "to promptly make other arrangements or we'd miss our flight". So much stress for such an expensive trip. I feel like there are plenty of other nicer resorts, with lovely people at a more affordable rate than this place. I can't say I would ever recommend this resort, and I guess it goes without saying I would never return.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

We stayed at the Blue Bay about 4 years ago and were impressed then and this time was even better. The food was fantastic the service was amazing they are constantly cleaning and doing whatever they can to please their guests. The resort is always clean and fresh and the ambiance is fabulous. Grand Sunset Princess: Wonderful Resort!

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The only issue we had (which is a personal choice), is that the resort was too large :) Although there were shuttles to get from our rooms to the main lobby, theater, restaurants, we did have quite a bit of walking to do in order to get to the pools and the restaurants by our rooms. There were a few times when the cleaning wasn't done (and we had to call to get our room done), and there were lights which didn't work the [... read more] whole time we were there. We paid to be in the Platinum area of the resort, which should have been top notch, and we shouldn't have had any issues at all. The main issue we had was the fact that we had been booked into the Grand SUNSET and were sent to the Grand RIVIERA instead. There was no explanation given (even though we asked a few times), and as we stayed at the resort, we found that the Sunset area had better hours for their restaurants and buffets.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Second time even better!

Second time to this beautiful hotel and it was even better than the first . It’s the staff that makes it really outstanding . Food is really good . Blue water grill for lunch and dinner outstanding . Other a la cartes good too . Drinks good , beach good , pools good . Preferred club ocean front the way to go! Thank you Now Sapphire!!

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: 3rd Time a Charm!!!

I can't say enough about this resort and it's extraordinary staff! As it was our 3rd visit in less than 2 years, we made a few requests and the resort made sure that they were all met and exceeded! The food is fantastic and plentiful and the servers are hard workers and friendly and accommodating! After a day or 2, they all get to know you and your preferences, which is a treat as it makes you feel so welcome. Nice to see Anna still there, someone who has been at Silversands for all 3 of our visits. The addition of Alex to the poolside area, for ANYTHING you need, was a welcome addition for us this trip. Kayaking, scuba diving lessons and a huge Superbowl party on the beach were all fun things for this trip! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone that wants a fairly quiet but fun getaway, with only a 20 minute drive from the Cancun airport to this smaller resort. Canadians....they have Clamato juice here!! All you need to bring is celery salt for a perfect drink!!!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Very nice resort

The hotel was amazing. Staff waited on you hand and foot, the drinks were amazing and so is the food. If you want a tiki hut by the beach go early in the day as by afternoon they were totally gone!!!!

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Superb hotel with exemplary staff and service

This is our 4th stay at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso and it never fails to live up to its reputation. The hotel buildings are magnificent and kept meticulously clean and repainted frequently. In the main the a la carte restaurants are excellent but it isn't always easy to reserve a table even a week in advance. Beach and beach service are excellent and quiet. If you want entertainment the pool is the place for you. Entertainment at night is professional both in the lobby bar and the theatre.  [... read more] We'll be returning next year.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Excellant Adults Only Resort

Everything about this resort is 5 star This was our seventh visit to the Grand Paraiso and nothing disappointed On our arrivel we are introduced to our butler who already knew our likes and dislikes from previous trips and ahd eqipped our room accordingly The food is top notch regardless of the restaurants or buffet

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Akumal Bay = Amazing

This resort is beautiful and in excellent condition. Whether you eat at the Buffet or à la carte restaurant you will be satisfied with excellent food. The beach is great with soft sand and the water so clear that you can easily see different species of fish without snorkeling or you can simply go for very long walks on the beach and enjoy the view. The rooms are great and clean but the weather so fantastic that you won't spend much time in the room. We met Carlos and his beautiful 2 year old female hawk Kenya and this guy was always interesting to talk to. Although the shuttle ride from the airport is 90 minutes, it is smooth highway sailing unless you hit rush hour. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Resort for a wonderful vacation

Was a little hesitant to stay with all the mixed reviews; however our stay was wonderful! We ended up in block 6( away from the beach) had a pool and a snack shack there, so it was quite (mostly). Large rooms, good beds, great patios, large bathrooms with huge showers. Grounds were well maintained, the staff was friendly and attentive. Spent many evenings at the swing bar on the beach (our favourite  [... read more]spot) Now the negative: Yes there is some maintenance needed on the pools as tiles are missing, and perhaps a little more attention to morning skimming. At the beach bar they don’t wash the glasses, but rather they are soaked (in what I am not sure) and you are never given a straw at this side of the resort (I get why but gross!!) Events on the beach are not alway posted if you have a pool day you don’t know what’s going on... Beach is not private so beware of venders
