Muthu Playa Varadero: Great vacation time

Playa De Oro offers maybe the best beach that we have ever visited!The flat and turquoise water, the powder like sand, the amazing sunsets are just a few to mention. The staff also adds to the whole atmosphere of making it into a very comfortable place to stay. The room was disent and air-conditioned. One thing that we were totally caught by surprise was that we had many different TV channels in the room including american, canadian, french, italian and cuban. Our whole trip was organized by West-Jet and I am using this opportunity to give them a big shout out for the excellent service, starting with the flight then the extra excursions and the whole package - great job!

Palma Real: was A Good Resort

The hotel was OK took 5 different rooms to get a OK room. No air mold in two dirty in another, food has gone from OK to terrible this place is not even a 2 star. Same food every day morning noon night nothing changes. Sorry to say but I never will return to Cuba. My first week went to eli-cart and that night food poisoning through up both ways all night sick for two days. And I made sure everyone new.I love the people but they have problems.

Melia Las Antillas: Beautiful resort!

The beach was beautiful with soft sand. I think the beach was better than Cancun and my daughter said even better than Hawaii. The resort staff were very friendly. For service I could give 5 stars but there was one lady from the restaurant (juice section) that was rude. The room was clean with good airconditioning. The food was good but it could be better if there was some hot salsa (salsa picante). Overall I give 4 star.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing vacation!

My husband and I visited at the end of May. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the hotel itself is very well laid out so that everything is very accessible, within short distance, when compared with other resorts. Beach is superb, close by to the hotel. From the reviews I read on tripadvisor and the tripcentral websites, I can understand we were very lucky with the room which was fully functional, with AC, safe working, patio door closing, minibar stocked every day, room cleaned up every [... read more] day. All was great. The buffet food was acceptable (yes, there were birds and flies around) and the a la carte restaurants were very good with the exception of the Cuban. Like other reviewers, we enjoyed the Japanese. We went on an excursion to Havana 1 day and it was great. I observed that the staff was very warm, eager to help, they were genuinely interested in us being well taken care of and especially they all seemed very well trained, following processes and procedures in a few instances we tested them unintentionally. We had to visit the doctor for a sunburn issue and the doctor on site was very good and professional. Overall we had a great experience. I mostly enjoyed the entertainment at the pool and aquafit at noon. We made the choice after a lot of research and taking many factors into consideration as we wanted a lively resort, with tennis courts, close to beach and airport and modern outside architecture, and with lots of entertainment. I can say this fit the bill for us and the minor inconveniences did not bother at all. We will definitely go back as it is a good value resort.

Paradisus Varadero: Great Resort, plenty of pools and restaurants - Family concierge a must

This hotel is suitable for everyone specially for families with kids. 9-5 Kids club and babysitting for $10/hour after 5.Family Concierge Package is a must, you get access to the private area and very good service. You get a personalized assistant to help you with all your needs. Our baby had his puree delivered to the room for lunch and dinner so we did not have to worry about baby at all. Plenty of pools everywhere, in the standard area and more in the family area, splash pools for kids and al [... read more]so swim up pools around the family concierge bungalows. They have so any pools but they should have at least one of two with some shades for babies. All pools were totally exposed to the sun, with no shaed whatsoever, we had to search a little corner near the pool bar for some shade. They should at least put more shade on the kids pool/splash area. Same with the beach, the beach was amazing, clear sand and clear water. Only complaint would be the shade again. We were first hesitant about travelling with baby to a resort but after we arrived we saw no problem. Just make sure you bring baby sunscreen and repellent for mosquitos. In terms of food, this resort has 7 ala carte restaurants which were pretty good. Reservations were done by our buttler so was very easy. There are 2 buffets for lunch, not much variety but ok for Cuba. the only bad thing was that there were cockroaches in the buffet and restaurants. My wife spotted a couple on the buffet wall and in the restaurant bathrooms, cant imagine how the kitchen are since the heat is more intense in there. Also birds eating the buffet since one of them is in the open. Other than that, resort was great and definitely would return with my kids. I recommend this resort especially for families with kids and babies.

Roc Arenas Doradas: 3rd time at ROC Arenas Doradas

Went back a 3rd time for the people & the beach and, I wasn't disappointed. Eduardo in the buffet, Jesus & Arelys at the snack bar & Yuya & Yuliere at the towal cabana truly made our trip. What wonderful people - polite, friendly, helpful with great smiles. They work hard and somehow are always smiling - even with those that are rude to them! The hotel and the rooms are showing its age...outdated. The food is ok (you wont starve). The a la carte restaurants use to be better...the new TEX MEX a  [... read more]la carte was NOT GOOD. The manager walked around the resort, always said hello with a pleasant smile. The yellow beach chairs need to go - they are old and not comfortable. The grounds are well kept. Entertainment was decent. Again, for a 3 stars, the beach and the people; you cant be the price.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Food must be improved!

We were at Ocean Varadero El Patriarca from May 17-27, 2017. Overall the hotel is very nice. It's a smaller size hotel so everything is near by. Vrery clean, modern rooms, nice, well maintained grounds. I don't think it is necessary to talk about ocean and beach in Varadero - it is absolutely perfect. BUT the food was horrible. We never expect much from the food as we go to Cuba every year. This hotel was the worst ever in terms of food. Very limited selections of food and everything taste [... read more]d really bad. Same applies to both restaurants. Milk is made from dry milk so it was impassible to drink, even cappuccinos and Latte coffee suffered due to that milk. All alcoholic drinks are watered down in the bar. That was the negative side. Another small disappointment was that swimming pool was closed at 6pm every single day. That is the time when the water is so warm and it's not that hot anymore.Lot's of people enjoying the pool. A worker stars walking around and telling everyone to get out of the pool for chlorine maintenance. However, everything else was pretty good. Music and people are simply amazing in Cuba!!!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Not too bad for Cuba

Good location, hotel layout, beach Bad service; rooms are outdated, not clean; some equipment didn't work: telephone, air condition, iron, reefer and you should spend a lot of your vacation time to fix everything The quality of food is 50x50 without any variety.. flies are everywhere.. on your table, in your plate.. nobody cares

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: A great place to stay. First class.

The place looks, feels great., The cleanliness is exceptional and people are cleaning constantly. The staff at the front desk are thorough and helpful, as are the bartenders and waiters and waitresses. Smiles are everywhere. The food was good - could be better and hotter when you return to your table - but for Cuba I rate it a B. Lots of pork, very little beef. We were pleasantly surprised at the elegance of the hotel. We were pleased with the arrangement with AC vacations to deliver us to and from our location included in the cost.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: I enjoyed my stay

I enjoyed my stay, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. I would recommend that the food was good, much better then any other resort in Cuba. But they should give it more of a variety at the buffets.

Club Kawama: Loved it, again.

This was my fourth stay. It gets better very time. Great improvements, new air condition units, new lobby to say a few. Staff is amazing as always. Very open to our needs always trying hard to please. Location is amazing walking distantance to the downtown core. Beach is the best. By far the best deal for your money. Will go back as soon as I can.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: CUBA!! DO IT!!

Bathrooms a little sub-par compared to first world, but other than that everything was as you'd expect from a 5 star resort! Pool was closed at 6PM every night which was kind of a bummer but the resort has a fantastic private beach which is available 24/7.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Another great time

Went back for the 3rd time at this resort and was very pleased. My room was beautiful and the maid cleaned it every day. I was in room 2410, very quiet, overseeing the palm trees, the pool and the ocean. This resort is small and very friendly. Food was okay. I only stayed 4 days and 3 nights. Loved it that there were not many mosquitoes around. The beach is one of the best features of this resort. Wish we didn't have to pay 2 CUC for 1 hour of wifi and doesn't work. Starfish Varadero: Value resort

As I knew going into this vacation this was going to be a "value" hotel I didn't have high expectations, all I was looking for was decent food that didn't make me ill, a place to lie my head and a nice beach all was accomplished.

Starfish Varadero: Great Resort!

Its my second time coming to this resort and I absolutely like everything starting from foods, great services from all workers, great entertainment, clean beach with lots of activities. I am definitely coming back in the near future :)

Roc Barlovento: great place

this hotel more than met my expectations. Rooms were basic ( its Cuba ) but very clean. My maid Alina was wonderful, good English, very helpful and a pleasure to get to know. All staff except for maybe the ladies at receiption went out of their way to make my stay a good one. I am a senior lady and travelled alone without ever having concern for my safety or wellbeing in this area of Cuba. Take bug spray there`s mossies and sand fleas ,but if you spray yourselves its not a problem. Great resort,great weather, great beach, wonderful people what more do you want.

Sol Palmeras: Great First Visit!!

This was my first vacation to Cuba and to an all-inclusive. I had been told the food was not good in Cuba however was very surprised at the quality, taste and the selection. The large buffet restaurant at this resort had so much to choose from and in addition there were 5 other specialty restaurants. The beach was by far the best I have been to with the exception of the Grand Cayman Islands. The water was gorgeous and the beach was clean and staff were always on duty picking up plastic cups and [... read more] garbage. The room was clean and beds very comfortable. The only negative would be that the room was in need of some repair and the hallways and lobby had little to no air conditioning which made it uncomfortable. The staff however was so friendly, helpful and willing to do whatever they could to make your stay enjoyable. I would go back to this resort again!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Royal Service - newer buildings are great

The hotel and grounds are very nice. Beach is beautiful and pools in the Royal Service area are clean and relaxing.... that's because it's not crowded. If you want more party times, stay in the non-Royal Service section. Food is actually good, but I'm not picky. You go to Cuba for the beach, not the food. The hotel staff are all wonderful and friendly. Yes, you should tip them. They are very appreciative and work long hours. There is no such thing as North-American equivalent 5-star in Cuba so  [... read more]keep your expectations in check.

Muthu Playa Varadero: FAIR RESORT

Beautiful grounds with lots of shady trees.spacious lobby areas with comfortable seating and helpful staff at the front desk.large rooms with colorful walls and a beautiful balcony..my table lamp was plugged having only 1 prong.cord was never replaced.after your first day no more bottled water is given.some tables in buffet were in unsanitary conditions with food particles left on tablecloth.
