Amazing resort.We had an amazing time at the resort and the weather was excellent.food was very delicious .the beach was amazing !I especially liked the communication at the resort.Rooms Were spacious and clean.

excellent spot to relax. food and liquid refreshments great. beach cleaned every day and the water temperature in ocean warmer than air. the beach bar was our favourite place to have lunch. the staff was accommodating and knowledgeable

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: First Family Vacation

My husband has been to this resort twice, this being his third time, my first. We have a 7 month old son and were hesitant on how he would handle being out of routine. I must say I was completely blown away how the staff had went above and beyond to accommodate us. Everything from giving us a crib, to finding food that he could eat, giving us extra water bottles for formula and washing his bottles, playing with him and just being overall friendly. If I had to find a fault my ONLY thing would be that the beach area was a little rocky... But it wasn't anything a pair or sandals couldn't fix. We will definitely be going back next winter.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing Resort

Hotel was great, I would go back any time. Junior Suite Room is very generous, we had two queen size beds. Very nice view from our balcony we could see the ocean and the garden, lots of tropical flowers.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: staff

Staff was very friendly and polite but no one spoke english! At times we had to use sign language to ask for help. Food was excellent. .beautiful swimming pools..Entertainment at night could have been better for kids as well as adults.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: All around great trip!

We had a great stay at the bahia Coba. The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The food was great. Our two daughters loved the waterpark and we spent time there everyday. My only complaint would be that the pools were very cold.

Everything was 5 star. Rooms were so clean and nice. Housekeeping made cool towel origami everyday. Food was 5 star in the buffet and the fine dining restaurants.Service was exceptional and super friendly. Lots of fun activities going on throughout the day. The breakwater allowed ocean swimming everyday and the reef out front had some beautiful fish and coral to see. Shopping in the hacienda was good. the trams run all the time so it was no problem getting around. The disco was good too. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: not a five star

Hotel was nice - staff very unfriendly - most of them - food was alright not great - hotel location was good - beach was very seaweedy - would not stay here again - most staff didn't speak English and did not even make an attempt to try or help!

Lovely, well kept grounds, very clean. Great service from very friendly staff. Food and drinks all very good, lots of variety. Gorgeous pool, awesome beach, very nice rooms. Would definitely go again!

“More like a 2 than a 3” 3 of 5 starsReviewed 3 days ago NEW We stayed in Ambar 1 Jan 30 - Feb 13. First the pros - beautiful beach and water for the most part. Seaweed was very bad the first few days but the remainder of the stay the seaweed was minimal. Carlos, the assistant manager is stellar. Eddy, the bartender was a doll. All the remaining staff were polite but reserved. Nothing wrong with that. Guess we're used to Mexico where the staff are more outgoing. With the exception of the  [... read more]lobby staff, English speaking staff were rare. I speak a little Spanish but when I had an issue, I tried to conveying the problem to some of the cleaning staff and the two staff looked at each other, shared a joke and laughed. Now the cons, and there are many. Our air conditioning didn't work. We called the front desk three times and each time we were assured it would be fixed but it was a mediocre fix at best. Most nights I slept on the sofa under the fan. Horrid sewage smell in the bathroom. Again we complained and the bathroom smelled like bleach so I believe they must've poured some down the drains. Some days the minibar was filled and some days it wasn't. Our patio door did not lock. Some times we got hand towels, sometimes there were none and we had to call room service. Only once did we get washcloths. One day we had half a roll of toilet paper, the next day we had 4. We only used the tub twice as hot water was non existent in the evening. We were told that the boilers were being fixed. The last morning of our stay the shower water was so hot that it was tough to stand underneath the spray of water. We couldn't adjust the temperature. In order to get a front row beach chair with shade you have to get to the beach before 6:30 am. The first few days were very windy so we resorted to the pool. Same issue there and plus it is some loud there!!! Within two days my dh had tummy troubles. Being seasoned travellers we are well prepared with Imodium etc. I got hit with the same thing a few days later. It was my birthday and I spent all day in bed (and mostly in the bathroom!). All I can say is thank goodness for gravol suppositories! The rest of the trip I ate sparingly since I consistently felt off. Typically I never get sick so I thought this was telling of a resort issue. We discussed this with other guests and only ONE other couple did not have similar sick days/gastrointestinal issues. We spoke with a fellow who said two of his group were hospitalized. This leads to the food. We are used to the all inclusive resort food so no surprise that overall the food was mediocre. Our best time was at the Sante Fe and Ambar 2 buffet. I think overall that quality control is an issue. The resort is too big and trying to serve too many people. This latter part was very apparent in Don Pablo restaurant. The food was good but we felt rushed to eat and get out as quickly as possible. The Ambar 1 buffet seemed to have a lot of flies on and around the food. And the cold food didn't seem cold enough and the hot food not hot enough. The last week I survived on bread, plain pasta and the little candies at the exit. I believe the liquor is not premium. Oftentimes, when we asked for a piña colada they would make them without alcohol and when we asked for rum they'd add the equivalent of a teaspoon. The best piña coladas were in the Ambar lobbies. Although there is coffee in the rooms, you couldn't find "real" coffee early in the morning. In the end we had an okay time, mostly because we enjoyed the beach and beautiful water. Would we go back? Most likely not. We've stayed in 3 stars and we've stayed in 5 stars. Bahia Principe Ambar is not a 5 star. For the price we paid we expected better. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Loved it!

Cleanest AI I have ever been to and lots to see and do everyday. Enjoyed the buffets over the al la cartes and the pools although the beach was awesome. I would go back here anytime and I NEVER go to the same place twice!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Fantastic destination

From the airport shuttle to the check in process everything was smooth. Quick simple check in and off to nice room. Ample sized with a nice bathroom and balcony. Only small issue with the room is pillows were flat and hard. The resort itself is beautiful. Very well maintained and kept spotless. Buffet and a la carte's also, all great! There's no shortage of food abd even the pickiest eater would be able to happily fill their plates. Must try the Brazilian a la carte...amazing! Pool is warm and [... read more] perfect. Hard to find chairs during the day but always plenty of chairs at the beach. Beach is beautiful. It stretches endlessly on both sides of the resort for nice walks. Sand is powdery and lovely and the water calm and lovely. If you like to snorkel there's plenty of reef right at your toes, literally! Some areas are covered in coral reef....others just lovely sand. There's plenty of areas for R&R and plenty of activities planned by the animation team. Really, they go out of their way to make sure their guest are happy. Bars a plenty and great service from bar staff and wait staff alike. Although tipping seems to make no difference in the level of service, a smile and kindness on the other hand goes a long way. All in all, a fantastic resort and location. We loved our stay here and although we never go to the same place twice, we would here. Tips.... Massage on the beach just off the beaten path, a must! $25-30 USD and you will be thankful. Book excursions with Manuel at the scuba shack. We did whale watching (nice big boat) saw tons of whales! Also went on the catamaran snorkelling tour which was quite lovely. Not a booze cruise if that's what you desire. More subdued but a great day on the water. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Grat Place! All as expected for the price paid

Coming back from a second trip of two weeks at Bahia Principe San Juan, i can say that for the price we paid its definately was as expected. Friendly stuff, lots of ameneties including a Casino ( for Advantage players : 3/6 pen ;) ) . Place can cater to many tastes in entertainment. It has several A la carte restaurants if the main bufet gets to repetetive with its food. The food is good, but the lack of change of variety gets a bit boring after the first week. Stunning grounds, nice clean rooms and great staff. The food was excellent and we had a great time. We had issues with our room key and door lock several times though, but staff eventually helped us out

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great place

The resort overall is a great place to stay. We like smaller resorts and this was ideal. All amenities are central and rooms spread out from there. Very clean, food was good. Staff very friendly though the language barrier at times was trying. 1hour 30 minutes from samana airport a little to long. Needs a little fixing up especially at the mini golf, and some room issues that were never fixed. But none of these would spoil your vacation. I. Would certainly visit again.

We stayed the last two weeks of January 2015 and this was our first time at a Bahia Principa resort. It is reasonably priced and we will be going back! The staff were all great, from the front desk to the gardeners, always pleasant and helpful. Waldy and Jaun Carlos at guest services were delightful. The resort is away from any large towns which is great because there were few pedlars, in Dominican they are very aggressive, so sitting on the beach was wonderful. The rooms are clean and kept clea [... read more]n daily. The fridge was always restocked with water, pop and beer. The shower was always hot and plenty of pressure. We had a fridge that was not working and within half an hour of telling the front desk the maintenance were replacing the fridge. The buffet restaurant always had a huge selection, a few times the food was warm not hot. The different cheese and cold cuts were wonderful. The fish was mild and always available. They do not label what type of fish though. The a la carte were all different. They need to refine there serving skills, maybe it is the Dominican way. The food was inconsistent. I had a wonderful lobster, but my wife had a terrible over cooked mess. We had our lunches at the burger restaurant and bar on the beach. It was always great.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Good resort

This resort is large and has very good amenities, but the beach is quite far away and is on the rocky side. The pools are great with an activities pool and two swim up bar pools. There is also a whirlpool are separate from the rest. The restaurants are good with great ambiance. The buffet is terrific and has a great variety. The grounds are very well kept and the rooms are quite nice. The staff are helpful but the staff for entertainment are a bit quiet and sparse. Everything was great, the service and staff was excellent.....always greeted with a smile and taken care of. Love the location and privacy of this resort, never feel crowded and lots of room on the beach....The food selection and taste was even better than before....Our room location was excellent with a nice view of the ocean........will definitely be going back in the future.....

The hotel was awesome...food was amazing with great service at all the a la cartes, pool was great with nice warm weather. Our room was cleaned each and every day with a turn down service at night.Shows were o.k. but enjoyed the outdoor patio at night. Michelle Black was a great singer and entertainer

Gran Bahia Principe Tulum is amazing place to stay, directly on Beach, grounds are immaculate and has atmosphere of small village. Very easy to walk around, Palm trees and flowers line them which give a tranquil feeling.
