Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nice Resort

Was our first time to this resort and 5th to Varadero. Buildings and rooms, showers were really nice and new. Clean rooms and gorgeous plants and grounds. Food was not met 4.5 star hotel. We are not fussy eaters, but food was the same every single day. Seafood was freshly cooked on grill but always same three kinds of fish, Not even a single shrimp or lobster, not even in their a la carte restaurant. Beach was great but we were soooo disappointed about the palapas. Even a 3 star resort would have had better palapas than this resort! All of them almost had big chunks out and sun was penetrating through to us and having sun burns. Palapas were not enough, people were going to reserve them at 7 am! All waiters and waitresses are awesome, our room cleaner lady, China, was very nice. Yohan and Lazaro from beach maintenance crew were the best. We might go back to this resort, but we also know that our friends at Iberostar Laguna Azul had much better selection of meals, including lobster and shrimps.

Barcelo Solymar: Great time

The Barcelo Solymar was a great hotel, keep in mind you are in Cuba and you will be fine. The beach was spectacular and the hotel is walking distance to downtown Varadero which is amazing. This is definitely a fun hotel that caters to a younger crowd, I wouldn't go here with my children. If you are young and single and looking to have a good time this is definitely the hotel for you.

Palma Real: Nice resort

Lobby looks very nice with new renovations. Enjoyed buffet meals good variety in food , warm meals, Love their deserts fruits and ice cream. Staff and chambermaid friendly give good service. Warm water for showers. Pool was also very nice and warm. Been there three times would recommend this resort. Good location!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: second time around

this was our second time at this resort, the hotel was great, the grounds were laid out prefect, well kept, the people were the most friendly of all of the other resorts that we have stayed at, only thing that i found bad was the quality of the food had dropped a bit since the last time there, but over all the trip was great, would recommend this resort to anyone.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Outstanding Resort

Rooms were very clean Staff was incredibly friendly Food was good, and a la cartes were exceptional Always something to do in the night time (good night life) Great service all around, never had any issues

Muthu Playa Varadero: Amazing value!

Overall, we had a fun and enjoyable family vacation at the playa de oro. Yes, overall the resort is a 3 star. It is outdated and needs a major renovation. The beach and pool area is where we spend most of our time. Fun times! Good value!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful beach, nice resort.. but

The workers we're all lovely people, service was top-notch. The rooms.. the lights were hanging off the wall, beds were very uncomfortable, rust/mold in bath rooms, we requested a king bed and got two doubles pushed together with king sheets... Maitence is the biggest killer, seems there hasn't been any, ever. Food was okay.. very plain, the a la carte's were good.

Memories Jibacoa: Problems in Paradise

We arrived at the hotel at 5:30 in the morning, we had no help with luggage and we were on our own to find the room in darkness, we literally went around the entire resort and we were already exhausted. Finally found the building and our accommodations we booked were two twin beds only to find a king size bed? Considering we booked two months in advance..Absolutely, we were upset being were two friends sharing a room for the holiday. Immediately, contacted the front desk and said this isn't ac [... read more]ceptable but were told they didn't have any other accommodations so after a day they brought in another bed. Certainly, these situations are not conducive to starting ones holiday. I will say the Resort and location were exactly what we were looking for most part the service was exceptional. I'll say the most disappointing part was our travel i ternary having been without a room for 13 hours is something I would have paid extra for . our flight home meant we were up for 27 hours , I would suggest that be corrected if your flying out at 4:38 in the morning you need a room for the day to shower, rest. I would also suggest that the flight i ternary include the time being picked up for the returning flight as the front desk didn't help us and only found out the last day that there was a board with all this information that's my suggestion. What's lacking at this resort is Entertainment it basically shuts down after the live performances, which were fantastic. We personally loved our time in Paradise but we didn't appreciate starting our holiday off under the above mentioned circumstances.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Hotel

People were amazing, Food can't complain, the atmosphere great. I wish they had a better way to anaunce the events, I missed a couple because I never new about them. The one thing really bather me was the water in the room, so little in the sink and the shower it was sooo difficult to take a shower or wash your hands. For the rest, I can wait to go back.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Do not go to Cuba

The hotel grownds are beautiful, the beach is spectacular; but the cleanliness needs a lot of improvement. As expected, the food wasn't great but I didn't expect the food and the facility to be infested with flies. Flies were literally covering the food and rags that the employees were using to clean the tables with. Also I didn't expect the employees to be rude and neglectful and outright ignore us when asking for a simple glass of water and the list continues. If I were to act the way They did at my work, I would be fired on the spot. My son was sleeping on a bed that the cover had caked on fecal matter and the rooms were never really cleaned even after generously tipping the maid. I didn't fully feel relaxed at the resort because I had to constantly check and bring money everywhere around the facility to tip anyone I spoke to so I can get some acknowledgement. My family all got sick at the end and are still recovering from the contaminated food. I would never go to Cuba again, the people have changed and I would never recommend it to anyone and btw , all the travelers from this hotel and others in the facinity were all saying the same thing: Cuba never again

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Do not go to this resort

It was first time in Cuba, I have been all over the Caribbean and Mexico, the resort itself didn't look bad from the outside but as soon as you walk in the room you see how out dated and dirty it is, but this it not the worse part, I could not eat for a week because of the amount of flies in the buffet restaurant, the flies are all over the food and tables!!!! Absolutely sick, most of us got some how sick, never again to Cuba

Starfish Jibacoa: VILLAS JIBACOA VERY QUITE AND SNORKELING PARADISE

I stayed in hotel for two weeks April 22 to May 6, 2017. Travel with family and friends. Arrived in late evening with heavy rain, but that was the end of bad weather actually. Sometimes wind was strong but not bad. I want to mention jelly fish. Appears one day, blue ones, and in couple days was OK. Lots of birds singing and chirping - sparrows, woodpeckers, grackles, doves, and others. Place is very big and very quiet with one building as hotel and rest of bungalows. I stayed in hotel room and [... read more] was happy. Lots of trees, flowers well maintained. People were very friendly everywhere. Buffet restaurant was very clean, waiters very helpful. Food was actually very good with enough variety and very good quality. I want to mention just delicious chicken, beef tails and rabbits. Good soup was every day. Restaurant has a grill, but on it was only fish. Why not meet like chicken or pork and beef? In days when crowd, wasn’t enough food and that should be improve. Also you can have always cold beer and good wine for lunch and dinner. Drinks were pretty good except in lobby bar you have to pay beer 1 peso. That should be change. If you go there don’t mist good brandy and Spanish coffee. That bar is open until 10:30 pm. That could be problem for somebody. Beach is not bad but I have to mention a lot of grass in the water. That is not very pleasant when you swimming. There is no Wi-Fi, only one computer, very old. Sometimes is crowd around it but you can have a drink and wait. Entertainment is not bad in my opinion. Some local bands were playing and thy are very, very good. Dancers are not bad too. Attendants are very low, only elderly people. Usually around 30 attendances. There is no Disco for yang people, that’s way into this resort you can see only elderly people. Quick resume: Very nice and quiet place with friendly people, good food and snorkeling paradise. Also price is very wort it.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that we were upgraded to Royal Service! Our room, the presidential suite, was very spacious, exceptionally clean and at a great location close to RS lobby, bar & buffet, and pool! The beach was awesome!! Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar!

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing Hotel

We stayed at Family Concierge and the environment is really good. Everyone is so nice and helpful.The hotel has more than 8 restaurants giving great choices every night. Awesome beach and great swimming pools. A very nice place to relax with family.

Hotel Los Cactus: nice resort but rude staff

grounds amazing,large rooms but moldy,very rude staff make my stay not pleasant at all. air conditioning is very noisy and not cooling enough .If you looking for nice beach and nothing else you go to this resort.

Melia Marina Varadero: Fantastic resort

This resort was perfect, from start to finish, the staff was very nice, and the variety of food was great. I had a very nice time while I stayed there, I would love to come back, and would definitely recommend this resort to my friends!!

Roc Arenas Doradas: Enjoyable vacation

The Arenas Doradas was a nice resort. It's Cuba. So yes the bed wasn't very comfortable, if you looked closely there is some cracks, dirt/mould in the ceilings etc. the sliding door had one handle missing so there was an open space to the outside (I just shoved the curtain into it to keep out bugs), the phone didn't work, my bar fridge didn't work until I unplugged the TV and plugged it into there so I chose having a fridge over the TV for the trip.. I'd put the bath towels into the tub to get  [... read more]washed and never got the larger towels again until about the last day.. so things weren't perfect. But the room was always clean, the AC was very good! It had a remote and was very handy for changing the temperature if you woke up hot or cold. I HAD towels they just weren't the larger ones but you air dry quickly in the heat anyways! The food is not good. I tried to get something from the grill in the main buffet as much as possible - having them make something fresh was best. The breads are good and I didn't starve. We brought our own peanut butter and some snacks for the room and that really helped. I found the food at the beach bar and the pool bar to be very disappointing. We stuck to the main buffet. I'd stayed somewhere else in the past that had good pizzas and nachos/cheese and I missed having that as an option for a snack/meal at the beach. We did the Italian and the Tex Mex a la cartes and they were very good. It was nice to have a change from the buffet. The beach is beautiful! The sand is gorgeous, the water was fantastic. There were always lounge chairs at the pool or the beach in the shade or the sun whenever we needed. We didn't need to go and save spots although we were usually down there by 9-930am.. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Any issues were mainly due to ignorant people - the toilets were plugged a fair bit in the lobby or at the beach - but you shouldn't put paper down them there. There's garbage cans but people aren't used to doing that and it causes problems. Also, at the beach people leave cigarette butts or cups or coconuts everywhere instead of using the garbage cans. The staff maybe should've been cleaning that up a bit more but people should also take some care to clean up after themselves. We were in building number 2 and it was definitely noisy at night - you could hear the entertainment and the disco. We tried to move and weren't able to the first day and never tried again but i'd definitely recommend being a bit further away. The bathrooms at the beach weren't good at all so being in the building 6 or 7 near the beach would be better. The staff for the most part were very good. The maids were lovely and really appreciated the little gifts we left. We left gifts as tips in the buffet also and if you sit in the same area and do that you get good service. The front desk staff was quite rude. I didn't complain about any issues with my room but felt I maybe should've let them know to fix it for the next people but they were so unapproachable I didn't even bother.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Wonderful resort

Beach: Awesome (it's Veradero) Staff: Wonderful. Every single one of them. Food: Better than most in Cuba. Some nice extra BBQ's etc. A La Cartes were very good (given that it's Cuba) Pools: 4 pools to choose from: active with a bar to out of the way and peaceful Rooms: good size, well kept, clean, with ANCIENT mattresses! The bedspread was simply gross. Old and MUSTY!

Club Kawama: Another Awesome Vacation

This resort felt like going home. This was our second trip to Cuba and I was very surprised when many of the staff remembered my husband right away and when they looked at me they noticed that I had lost weight and told me how wonderful I looked and would tell me over and over how beautiful I looked and for a woman who will be 60 in October it made me feel wonderful. Our trip was from April 30-May 7. My reason for those dates was because on May 2 was the 5th year passing of my daughter and a [... read more]ll the staff knew this and the staff were all so kind to me and the rep with Sun wing was so kind to me that I could never thank her enough. She found a Church that my husband went to on May the 2nd so that we could pray and speak with the priest. The Sun wing rep also helped use make plans about taking 2 trips that were awesome and will recommend to everyone I know who are thinking about going to Cuba. Our room was clean and large. The only thing that went wrong was that the AIT condigitioner stopped willing on Wed. evening and was not repaired until Friday. And they offered us a new room on Friday evening just before the conditioner was fixed. The most wonderful thing I have to say is just how awesome all the staff were to us and we have already decided to go back to Cuba and we will go back to Club Kawama next year. We willbr in contacted with our travel agent Carol Webber again next year.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Breath taking

I found this hotel and staff very welcoming and warm. They could not aid you enough. Very friendly, clean and accommodating. The food was very good at both the a la carte's as well as the buffet. The beach was very clean and the water was amazing. We had a great time with our friends. The coffee bar was amazing.
