Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Had a great week!

Nice resort. Food was good, beautiful beach and service was good. Rooms could use a little cosmetic maintenance but were clean, have good shower and fridge. Great little coffee bar where you can have cappuccino and coffee drinks (included). I would return here definitely!

Club Kawama: Never go there again

When we got there the room that they gave me was really bad, had lots of bugs smelt really bad, then I asked to be moved to a neither room and charged me 120 us money, food we didn't eat all week, I really believe that they should have given me the room with no cost, really bad hotel, never again, sorry that's how I fell, was not impress at all.

Club Kawama: awesome resort

food ,room , resort, grounds all awesome.. The staff was not very friendly ... they would make more tips if they were friendly... Bed uncomfortable in upgraded room WE WILL BE BACK.. We may save money as we did not leave many tips ;) too rude

Barcelo Solymar: FANTASTIC RESORT!!

This is a great hotel for partying! I went with my two best friends who are both 19 and we had such a good time.The resort and rooms are nice and clean. Customer service and the food isn't that great but besides that I totally recommend that you stay here. Especially if you are young and like to party!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Friendly Resort

We traveled from May 4 - May 11 -beautiful grounds, very well maintained, great size, could easily get to everything quickly -beach and pool, amazing -food was good, but always the same -rooms, clean but dated

Muthu Playa Varadero: Amazing resort

Everything about this resor that was awesome!! I'll definitely be back, and would 100% recommend to anyone! I miss the coffee bar already! All employees of the resort work very hard! Breath taking outstanding performanceservice every night! Loved the live life of the resort!! My expectations were exceeded!!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Have to warn you

The resort rations everything and runs out all the time....hot dogs, any type of alcohol, etc. Are all rationed and we are told they are out. But big tippers get them. Managers tell workers infront of us to tell us they are out of that specific alcohol in Spanish and we had a friend who understood Spanish. Drain was clogged in shower and overflowed into the room causing flooding...complained about it 4 times before it was fixed. Workers would just say okay and go back to work. Paradisus Varadero: Upgrade to Family Service

There are two distinct parts to this hotel - the original side, which has beautiful beach front and quick access from the 2 story buildings located there, and the new side where the Family Service and Royal Service buildings are located, which are closer to a rocky area of coastline. You are never more than a ~500 meter walk from the beach however even at the furthest point. We booked in the original side of the hotel, but were not happy with our room and were given a $400 voucher to apply to an [... read more] upgrade, which we took, but had to pay an additional sum of money over and above the voucher. The upgrade was worth it, and I would recommend paying the extra to be comfortable in the Family Service section of the resort. The entertainment was outstanding, but there wasn't a great deal of nightlife. Food was good by Cuban standards and it was mango and guava season, which was a treat. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Very good!

Excellent service, very clean, well mantain, friendly staff, good variety of food, amazing beach, very good entertainment, prompt service, nice pool, 24 hours food services, nice massage at spa, tennis court and gym

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Loved it!

The hotel is small which I liked because you are anywhere you want to be in steps. No swim up bar but there is a bar just outside of the pool. No disco but way better since a lot of nightlife is literally just outside the resort. The service was friendly and the food was actually good! Best beach I have probably ever been too.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Adequate

This resort was adequate, not what I was expecting, nothing special except the staff. Jose` our butler was great, the reception staff was great as well. Uli the chef at the Sanctuary restaurant went out of his way to accommodate my food restrictions, we were very impressed. also Judi our maid did a great job. The resort was old and needed an update, Our room had a view of the pool, no ocean views at this resort, our so called suite was just a room but had a balcony so that was good. We pai [... read more]d for the diamond club, a bit of a waste as there were very view perks. The beach was lovely but impossible to get a shaded spot as the beach staff saved the best spots for the guest who paid the most. We did not realise this until someone told us on departure. The food except for 2 exceptions was ok most of the time but bad a few times, lots and lots of house flies all over the buffet, the last day or two Yuk. The exception were the Sanctuary restaurant and the Oriental which were good all the time. All in all we have been to much better resorts for the same money, we will not go back. too many place to see in this world.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nicest & newest resort in Varadero !!!

Great hotel ! We stayed in the privilege section with a lovely quiet pool area! Great service over entire resort with premium drinks in all areas with excellent wines at all times of day, not just dinner ! Beautiful beach!! and modern, clean rooms. The house band is the best and the Thursday night lobby party with them is more fun than we've ever had. Food was great in some areas (Italian and Oriental), good in buffet once you scope it out, awful in beach restaurant (should be a buffet, not [... read more] menu/table service for more variety and quick timing to be back at the beach) and very bad at the "gourmet" restaurant!, skip this one. Overall food was good with the highlights being omelet station, pasta bar, pasta dishes, breads !! Cuba always means lots of carbs. If you're looking for amazing food you need a cruise or Jamaica but for Cuba it was good. Cuba is all about the amazing beach, great people and great value. Most of the staff were very friendly, especially the gardeners (Noel !), the bar tenders and the maids in the lobby area !!

Blau Varadero: Still A Great Resort

I just returned from my 4th stay at the Blau Varadero and had another wonderful vacation. This is my first time back since it has become an Adult only resort. I normally travel in March or April so I'm not sure if it is the reason for my only concern or not. I always brag about the food at this resort as being the very best in all of Cuba and I've been to Cuba 13 times but this time I was disappointed in the very poor selection most nights. I have to say that because of the food choices or lack of, I was ready to go home on my 5th day there and that saddens me. I stayed in Room 1221 and loved my room, very clean and wonderful size. Several of the staff remembered me from my previous visits which is always very nice and welcoming. I will return one more time, hopefully in April of next year just to see if the time of year makes a difference in the food selection before I decide I have had enough of this beautiful little resort.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Not the best

Not happy with the food and service. Our room was nicknamed the "parts room" because so many things were missing. Did enjoy the beach and had fun at the pool. The weather was wonderful and hot. Love Cuba but not the resort

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Great time!

This was my first all-inclusive resort vacation in many years and it didn't disappoint - great value for money. It's a smaller resort - one pool and just a couple of restaurants, but that was perfect for us. I was there as part of a larger group so the small size made finding others really easy. The waitstaff and maids were all incredibly friendly. The food was what we jokingly referred to as 'Cuba-good' - it will not be what you are used to at home and nor should it be. If you're open minded  [... read more]about the fact that Cubans import a lot of the food we're used to and try some of the local dishes you won't go hungry as there's lots of choice. They do bread especially well, and the grilled shrimp were delicious! When we arrived our room faced the street, and as some of the other reviews have said the bars are incredibly loud. Earplugs helped significantly, but we were lucky enough to be moved when we asked politely (they had some extra rooms that week). Our second room faced the garden and was much quieter. Despite the noise of the bar across the street, the location of the resort so close to town was great - the Beatles Bar down the street was great fun, and the Havana club was a hoot. There are lots of classic car taxis roaming around so we took one down to the market one afternoon - great fun. If I have one complaint about the trip it has nothing to do with the resort, but rather the Sunwing rep. he was only there one hour a day (if that) and was really um, intense (not in a good way). We did the bus tour of Havana (booked through the Sunwing Rep) and I wouldn't recommend it. The tour guide wasn't great and while we did see some of the 'major' spots I don't think it was worth the money at all. Some others in our group organized a private tour of Havana (not trough Sunwing) and raved about it, so I'd do that next time instead.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Had a great time!

The hotel was great value for your money. It is a little older and run down in places, but the staff were excellent, the food pretty decent, and the beach was amazing! Even the pool was great on non-beach days. The hotel is well situated in downtown Varadero in case you want to eat out, do some shopping, or rock out at the Beatles Bar (a MUST do). Internet access was a bit iffy sometimes, but hey- I was there for sun, not facebook! We originally had room 1215, which faced the street, and it  [... read more]was SO loud at night, even with earplugs in. We ended up switching to room 1228, which was much quieter!

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Varadaro Resort

This was my first trip to Cuba and we stayed on the main strip of Varadaro. The resort was small and we were a large group so it worked well for us. The beach was absolutely beautiful, the pool was a little small and there is no swim up bar. The food was pretty good (I had been warned not to expect much), the bread was fresh made and the ice cream was amazing, I basically ate that at every meal. Club Kawama: amazing

rooms are comfortable, grounds and pool are lovely, tours are amazing, Havana was interesting got lots of info, catamaran tour was very exciting, time at resort is very pleasant, had a perfect week, will be back

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Gorgeous Beach - Tired Rooms

The outside of the hotel is beautiful. The beach is stunning and lots of available lawn chairs. The service staff (except for one older crabby bartender near the pool) were awesome. The hotel is in an awesome location for nightlife and walking. The hotel rooms are extremely run down. My shower and SINK fell down during the stay. When we told the management about the problem we received no apology and one female staff member told us that 'when you break something you should have to pay for it. [... read more]' The sink literally broke while I was washing my hands. Haha. Terrible customer service from the upper management. Very poor internet connection as well.

Starfish Varadero: Great resort!

Overall the resort was great for three stars. The food was great, it just needed a bit more variety in my opinion. The rooms were clean and all the staff were nice. The entertainment was great and ended at a decent hour.
