The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: The Fives beach Resort and Residence

The Fives Beach resort was an exceptional resort. The setting itself was extraordinary since surrounded by a jungle like setting. And in this jungle you will see monkeys, coatis, capybaras and turtles. The resort itself has several pools to access and a wide variety of restaurants. The beach itself is not bad it’s just a bit rocky and alot of seaweed. Overall excellent place to stay at. I would rate it a 5 star !

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Highly recommend

This was my 2nd visit to this resort. Food and staff were excellent . I will definitely visit again. The buffet was always well stocked and offered a variety of food for everyone taste. If you get a chance visit caper’s Italian restaurant and order the delicious lasagna

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: BARCELO Puerta Vallarta

This resort is a lovely place. It is not an overly large resort, which is what we had hoped for. It is beachfront on a bay at Mismaloya. It is a 25 minute drive south of Centro PV. Fifty minutes from PVR airport. There are 3 or 4 pools including a children's pool with a built-in slide. Some staff do recreational programs in the pool area. Leading aqua fit and some games. Table tennis and large chess set by the pool. We had a deluxe suite 700 sq.feet. It was very spacious with kin [... read more]g-size bed, large walk-in shower, small sitting room plus bedroom with couch, dresser, dining table and two chairs. There is a large balcony with view of pools and ocean. There are only a few other resorts around it but there are no other facilities outside the resort. A large buffet dining room overlooks the beach and ocean, plus 3 theme restaurants ( all included in the price). We found all the staff friendly and attentive. The weather was perfect 28 degrees C average. We enjoyed our stay at Barcelo PV very much.

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay: Amazing place to stay

The grounds were very well maintained. The staff were so friendly regardless of tasks that were asked. The room we stayed in could use some upgrading but it was very clean. The only drawback was the resort could use at least one more restaurant.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Good resort

Overall, the hotel was good for the price. Unfortunately, the beach was full of sargassum and the water was cold but the beach itself is quite nice, sandy. Beware of the Premium/Privilege Club people hunting you like hawks at the check-ins. If you are not interested to pay extra, tell them directly straight away; otherwise, you will be wasting your precious time for their presentations and they will try to attract you by free massage, etc. The exclusive clubs are in every hotel but I have never  [... read more]seen such pushy people like here and that really spoiled my impression. The entertainment is okay, average shows in the evening. Overall, rooms are good and clean (except there is no door to the bathroom, just curtains), maid services are good, water was refilled daily. Food is decent, you can always find something to eat.

El Cid Resort Castilla: Nice Resort

The resort is awesome. It really has something for everyone. The pools are great and so are the staff at the pool bars. My only complaint would be that we were not allowed to have lunch on our last day. Because check out was at 11, they cut off our bracelets, which meant we could no longer have lunch at the resort even though we were getting picked up at 2:30 to get to the airport. When we arrived at the El Cid it was in the evening, so we only had 1 meal that day. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Does not fit with our ideal Mexican vacation

Staff were great and food and general service was really good. As this was a family vacation with sons and grandsons, it was a fun time. Grandsons enjoyed the kids club.. Pool water and jacuzzi were so cold, we couldn't much take advantage of the water. Even the grandkids didn't seem thrilled with the water. The ocean-front beach was accessible by a 10-minute trolley ride and so inconvenient. Riu Emerald Bay: Awesome Resort

We had the BEST time at Riu Emerald Bay! The staff was awesome, super friendly and helpful it really seemed like they loved being there! The hotel its self was SO clean, second to none! Food was good if you go hungry here it's your own fault they had everything anyone could want! Service was great no lines for food. The bars can be a bit busy but that's to be expected but never waiting longer than about 5 minutes for a drink. Pools were great! Beach is AMAZING! I would recommend this hote [... read more]l to anyone. We brought out 3 kids youngest is 9 and oldest is 13, they had a GREAT time and we felt SAFE SAFE SAFE the entire time! The only bad thing I have to say is that the beds were quite hard not overly comfortable unfortunately. But other than that totally worth it!

Crown Paradise Golden: Nice resort

We had an adventurous stay at crown paradise golden when the cartel decided to bomb the city. We never felt afraid for our safety. The staff were incredible! They rallied together and worked very hard to keep the guests comfortable. The resort is clean, the main pool was fun with activities while the rooftop pool was quiet and relaxing. The beach is swimmable with waves and little undertow. Our only complaint is the process for dining. If you tried to just show up without a reservation you were turned away although the restaurant was clearly available with many tables. If you are a foodie, the food is average. For this reason alone I would not return.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Fabulous resort!!

Excellent resort that surpassed all our expectations. Ideal for families, travelling with toddlers and babies. The children’s splash pad is fabulous with lots of activity for children to keep them busy. Restaurants and buffet had all excellent service and food. Beach very nice although the water is very rough so you may not be able to swim in it. Poolside along the beach is beautiful. Entertainment and poolside activities are good. Canto Del Sol: Nice resort

Grounds-Nice and kept well Public Areas-Also nice and kept well Rooms-Nice and kept well, was in a studio with kitchenette. Had problems twice with my older type safe getting it activated. Had a problem accessing my room multiple times, maintenance had to change door lock batteries and re code door multiple times. Dining-Good assortment of tasty food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (deserts need to be tastier, many had no taste to them which is constant problem in Mexico). Features- Tennis area and multiple pools (3) over three areas was very good. Beach area-not very big, ocean washed sand up against the huts on the beach Bar Lounge area-not very large and very loud once full of people and music playing, they need more lounge areas Lobby - Completely open, no closed door for security purposes. This was not good during the government shelter in place at hotel requirement. There should be a gate or door that can go across the entrance to close off to intruders. We had to shelter in our rooms. Elevator service-only one elevator for entire resort Buffet restaurant-Very good service and food Surf and Turf restaurant-Very good service and food but very loud in-side Mexican restaurant-Very good service and food

Sensira Resort and Spa: Great Vacation

Travelled : February 17-27, 2026 Family of 4, Kids aged 8 & 4 Stayed in a Double Queen Room We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sensira and are considering coming back next year. Here is the high-level overview: - Arrived via private shuttle, 20ish minutes from CUN airport, while the road had a few potholes, it was nothing notable and our driver was able to navigate around them easily. - Check in took about 10 minutes, there is the local fee to pay, has to be through credit card, cost us abou [... read more]t $70 for 10 days - Every room had a view of the ocean and a decent sized balcony - Our room was cleaned daily, provided we left the tag on the door. - Mini-bar was refreshed most days, a few days missed. - Shower floods the bathroom, but the water pressure and temperature was good. -Temperature of the room was good, you are able to adjust - Reserve your pool loungers between 6-7AM for a decent spot, kids area is shady in the AM but blasted in the afternoon with sun -Great fitness classes daily at the pool -Beach was nice, not too much seaweed, removed daily in the AM -Lobby had music performer each night -Nightly show was enjoyed by our kids (for us it was just ok), theatre always had space to sit -If you are bringing Pesos, bring small bills for tipping, it was very hard to make change, no issue with USD -We took an UBER from the hotel to Puerto Moreles for the day and it cost us about $15-$20 each way, no issues. - Hotel had REALLY good WIFI - For the restaurants: - Breakfast is at the Buffet daily, always a good selection. You also have option to grab a sandwich or fruit cup from the Tea House which was a nice option. -Mexican Restaurant was good, we recommend the tortilla soup, ceviche and the beef tacos, for the main, the pork was very good! Fidel took great care of us there both times. -Italian Restaurant was also good, we enjoyed the Salmon and the Beef tenderloin. The chicken Parmigan was a good option for our kids. Line up at 5:15 to get a decent time (opens at 6) -Steakhouse was excellent, Ana provided really great service and engaged with our kids. Steak was cooked well, sides are small, wedge salad was great. You need to make a reservation 2 days in advance at the conceriege at 9AM, line up at 8:30 to get a decent time. -Beach snack had really good Pico and Guac, but the line up can be long. Fish tacos and fries were also good. The servers in the pool area can also bring you food. Check out was easy, took 5 minutes, no additional charges. Stayed in the lobby after check out for an hour and still had drinks from the lobby bar. David at the Lobby bar always took great care of us. Overall, this was a really great resort for our family because of the family oriented attitude. There were a lot of great activites to take advantage of and we personally did mini-golf, the trampoline park daily, kids movie, kids club, ping pong, nintendo, zipline, wall climbing. We even watched some of the olympic games in the lounge area on the second floor. ****Item to note, if you are walking on the beach with your family, go left, not right. There are a few adult only resorts to the right and you may get an eye-full. We will be back and thank you to all the staff for a fantastic vacation!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful resort with so much to do

We travelled as a group of 5, 2 rooms. We upgraded to premium upon arrival, which we felt was worth it. We were able to get dinner reservations at all of the à la cartes we wanted, though they were mostly at 9 pm. The food at all of the buffets and restaurants was exceptional, we enjoyed snorkeling and seeing the turtles and had the great fortune of seeing the monkeys 2 mornings. The grounds were beautifully kept and we found all staff to be really wonderful and friendly.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Restful Vacation

This was our first time at this location. The grounds, pools, restaurants and rooms were all immaculate! The staff are constantly cleaning. The Buffet and à la carte restaurants offered many options and the food was well prepared. The bars and bar tenders were very courteous. The only disappointment was the “snack bar”. It served over cooked frozen hamburger patties and gawd knows what kind of nachos. They could use some improvements there. You cannot swim in the ocean at this location but we kn [... read more]ew that before we booked. Overall if you’re looking for a chill vacation this is a wonderful place.Jenn Black is an amazing agent. She kept us up to date with all info and what’s available in Cabo. You won’t be disappointed booking with her!

Occidental Cozumel: NOT a 5-star

Off the top, I have to say that the service team at this hotel ( speaking only of the servers that worked the buffets, pool bars and entertainment team) were wonderful! Unfortunately, that was the best part of the resort. Upon our arrival, the check-in was a terrible experience. We booked a deluxe double room (two beds - in fact, our entire group of 8 each booked the same, so 4 rooms). They gave us each, except for one room, a king size bed. When questioned they basically just shrugged and sai [... read more]d there was nothing she could do. Anytime we asked for assistance or directions during the week, we were greeted with a grunt and a chin jab by the same girl. ROOM - Fine when all is said except cleanliness - the cleaning staff do not have an attention to detail one would expect from a 5-star resort. FOOD - NOT GOOD. I have traveled through Mexico extensively over the last 15 years and stayed anywhere from 3 to 5 star resorts...mainly 5-star over the last 4 years, the food was 3.5 stars at best and they do not take major allergies into consideration. One of our friends has a seafood allergy and had to keep asking for special accommodation which they could not always grant. The a la carte restaurants were difficult to get a table at and the food was always served lukewarm or even cold. Oh, and don't expect a balcony unless you are lucky enough to be assigned to the building closest to the beach...or upgrade to the royal level (I'm just assuming that they have their own block of rooms woth balconies). I have never stayed anywhere in Mexico that did not have a balcony - I know - first world problems but there you have it. For what we paid, which worked out the same as what I paid at Secrets Maroma just 4 months prior, I expected the same level of service and accommodations. I could go on but what I have commented on are the key components that can make or break the customer experience.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: AMAZING RESORT!!

This resort was fabulous!! When we booked our travel agent put in a note that we were celebrating our anniversary and when we checked in they gave us a free upgrade to the Adults Only. Our room was beautiful, beds were comfortable and the service was great. When we checked into our room the fridge wasn't working, I called the lobby and they were literally there 10 min later with a new one. T [... read more]he food was amazing with lots of selection, delicious and never long lines for the buffet. Would like to say the Route 66 restaurant was our favorite, amazing food. The entertainment was good with different "resort style" shows nightly. A big shout out to our servers Elice and Fernanda, these ladies kept the drinks flowing with big smiles, laughter and great personalities. The beach was just okay, the water was great but some rocky areas and not enough chairs. The pools were beautiful but like every other resort not enough chairs and towels on every chair by 7 am and no one around. Be aware for older people and people with mobility issues that it's a big resort from one end to the other with lots of walking. There are trolly cars but they do not run often enough so sometimes you could be waiting awhile. We really liked the location as it's close to the airport and Playa Del Carmen, which is our favourite shopping destination.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Great resort

The staff was fantastic! friendly, efficient, helpful. We think the occupancy was at 100%, so using the a la carte restaurants meant going early if you did not want to end up waiting over an hour to get in. The rooms are not very soundproof, and we ended up waking up somewhere between 2 and 4 a.m. to the sounds of a baby crying in one of the rooms on either side of ours. The hotel is very family oriented, so there were children galore.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Not Great

I did not enjoy my stay. I was charged $2000. In addition to the 3000. I was initially charged for Cuba. I changed because of the Cuba crisis I hoped this resort would be worth $5000. But it was not. The room had air conditioning issues and an actually flooded. We could never get a chair on the beach because people kept putting towels and personal belongings on them during the night and then not actually using the chairs until late afternoon. Royal Hideaway Playacar: Lovely Resort

The Royal Hideaway was probably the most beautiful resort we have ever been to. The grounds were meticulously cared for. The rooms were beautiful. We had three in our room and had lots of space with the bedroom a dressing room and the bathroom. We were on the ground floor and had a lovely patio which we used quite often. The resort was a nice size to get around. The two main pools are not that big but did the trick. There is one cool pool and one warm pool. However, we could not resist b [... read more]eing on the most beautiful beach on the Yucatan. It was spectacular!! Long walks in the morning were great. The hotel did a really good job picking up the sargasim in the mornings. Now the food. Not good. Very small buffet that after 10 days got very boring. The restaurant reservation system is a nightmare!! Had a very hard time getting reservations before 9 pm until we got the manager involved. We can only think they were having labour problems as whenever you did get seated early the restaurant wasn't even half full. So, if you are willing to put up with this frustration than I would say it is a fabulous resort.

Tesoro Los Cabos: Beautiful resort!

We love just about everything when we spend our time here! The view was beautiful, the pool was amazing to hang around, the food was incredible, and the staff were the best! Santiago served us most mornings, was one of the kindest gentleman and making us feel very welcome! The only sad part about her stay was the lack of entertainment during the evenings, this is a very chill resort. If you are going for a calm place, this is exactly where you would go!
