Club Amigo Mayanabo: needs help

While clean and tidy, our first room was the size of a closet and the water and Air conditioner didn't work. We transferred to a suite for 10 CUC extra per day and except for the fridge that didn't work, it was fine. The food wasn't bad, the staff were the same, but for our 10th trip to Cuba, this was probably the least enjoyable. Marie France our Air Transat Rep was amazing and I would certainly recommend her anytime.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Pleasant Stay

Beautiful beach and friendly staff. Food was not bad. The renovated rooms are basic but nice. Coffee bar was great. King Ranch, Camaguey Tour and snorkeling were excellent. You can see many varieties of fish even just snorkeling off the beach.

Starfish Varadero: Not Bad For The Price

The grounds and public areas were okay. Food was really good. Main pool actually had grass, leaves etc. floating most of the week. Took a picture where a kiss was left on a wall in our room. Lots of little ants, no hot water. Needs a lot of work! Still recovering from bug bites (sand fleas?)

Carisol los Corales: A Piece of Paradise

We have just returned from a resort where every day is just another day in paradise. Now don't be fooled, this resort is not our idea of a three star. As everyone knows, no one goes to Cuba for the food. However, the pizza and spaghetti at lunch was amazing. The lady who creates this delicious food works tirelessly never lossing her humour. This beach fit the bill perfectly. If you enjoy going into the water with a sandy bottom, this is not the beach for you. You will find a very small area with sand, while the rest is filled with grasses and rocks. One aspect of this resort we particularly enjoyed was all the animals sharing the space with us. You will find horses donkeys and cows chewing the grasses outside your room at times. And dogs that have the sweetest disposition joining you for a drink. Lol Please do not forget the local people in the area. This is one of the poorest regions in Cuba. Bring toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and shoes if possible. These are some the the basics they do not have, and we certainly take for granted. This resort offers it all. A peaceful vacation, if desired. Or a bike ride in the country side, excursions , and a disco at night. It's your choice. Our choice would be to definitely return!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice resort

Travelled week of Feb 19-26, 2016. Large resort. 4 pools and several dining areas. Food was typical Cuba. Not a great selection but you won't starve. Very good a la cartes. Italian especially. Friendly staff. Resort & pools were clean, beach not so much. Had a great holiday, met lots of people who go back every year. Weather was perfect.

This was our first time in Cuba and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the beach was amazing, but the food - not so great. But they do the best they can! The service was a little slow as well so we did a lot of waiting.

There was a lot of good people and lots of potential at this resort. Some really good staff who treated you well . There was also many staff who could care less about us or our time. I have lots of examples , the main lobby store closed for 45 mins during the time buses were leaving for the airport because the two ladies working there decided they would go eat together. We were waiting in line to sign up for a la carte, the staff member stood up and said see you in an hour , and walked out, leav [... read more]ing a line up of amazed people. It seems the goal is to do the least as possible for many staff , and it's obviously a management issue. Like cooking eggs and pasta on low , what the heck is that all about , It is ridiculous and unnecessary and wasted so much of our time. So if you are used to service in Mexico and want to use your vacation minutes wisely and you get upset with long , unnecessary delays then avoid this place .

Starfish Varadero: Amazing resort

Garden and common areas are cleaned. Food is very good and big variety. Beach and view is magnificent. Staff is very polite and kind. I was there first time and happy to visit this resort again. Variety of tours available for a reasonable price.

Starfish Varadero: Very Happy!

We were very happy with our recent stay in Bungalow A2207 at Aqua Azules! When we booked with Trip Central we had asked for a 2nd floor in a quiet location and that is what we got. The rooms were very spacious with 2 balconies (1 full and 1 with just a rail). We also heard complaints from those staying in 5 star resorts! Our only negative would be that the bed was a bit hard! We certainly would recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to return. i

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good value for the price

This was our second visit to this property.It had changed a lot since we were there several years ago. The beach and grounds are lovely. The week we were there the weather was unusually cool, windy and wet so we we really appreciated the numerous coffee bars! The rooms are clean and maid service was great but there were no balconies so it felt confined when the weather was bad. The food was typical Cuban fare but there was plenty of it! When you can,t be in the pool or the ocean because of the weather there was not a lot to do.

Carisol los Corales: A good value, in a real Cuban setting.

We have been to Corales/Carousel four times now, usually for a three week stay. An endless sandy beach or 'American' style food is of little interest to us. But the location is good for us with nearby fishing and farming villages, providing a real slice of real Cuba, away from the Varadero type complexes. The weather is always reliably hot. No, not everything is 'perfect', but it's a great, relaxing and economical resort!

Food was acceptable at some restaurants; great at others. Grounds are nicely kept. Beach is fantastic! Staff, especially at the lobby bar is very friendly. Thanks, Eddie, for the great time! Rooms are a little small. We stayed in the tropical section. Would return to this resort in a heartbeat!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great holiday.

Hotel/rooms were clean and comfortable. Liked all the different restaurants, pool areas, buffets. Good selection of tasty food, even the beef was tender here. Cloudy for a few days, but still hot enough.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Awesome beaches!

This was our third Club Amigo vacation. Great beaches. Good entertainment. The water ballet is always a highlight. Food and rooms are ok. Cuba isn't known for great food but there was always something there to enjoy. We would definitely go back. Great price and value.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Enloyable Resort

The hotel was good and staff was very good. Trip was very enjoyable. We did a carriage excursion and Robert our guide was very knowledgeable and a gracious host. This carriage excursion was the highlight of our trip.

Carisol los Corales: Good value

The beach and pools were great, staff awesome and the weather was perfect. I found that room 114 at Carousel was quiet and the amenities satisfactory. On the downside the food was reportedly down in quality and selection from years previous. Liver was cooked up at the grill station twice along with chicken or pork, not my thing. Ice cream was available on two days. I suggest a quicker way of getting toast or through the grill area as there were certain groups that were quite rude tourists. It was our first trip to this resort. Food was not a highlight. Room was small but clean. Entertainment was great. Service was very good. The market was a great daily adventure. Lots of free fun things to do on resort.

We stayed in the garden section..rooms were amall but always super clean..our maid was amazing and kind and always made sure we were taken care of. The grounds were well kept and clean. The food was actaully really good.. Best we have had in 7 trips all over cuba . we cant wait to return.. The staff were awesome and always helpful.

Starfish Varadero: No communication with outside world

Old resort, run down in a lot of areas. No water in jacuzzis. Phones in rooms do not work. There were full days where you could not contact the outside world by phone even if you did use the phone in the lobby. Very upsetting to people who needed to be in contact with home. At times toilet had no water and the shower was always cold. But the pools were clean. The beach was beautiful and our bungalow was large and clean. Club Amigo Mayanabo: Amazing place

Great place to spend a vacation and meet new friends. Friendly staff and always ready to help. Nice weather and amazing beach. We would recommend this place to any of our friends. Visited the place four times in the last year. Feels like home!
