Playa Pesquero: Loved, loved, loved our vacation at Playa Pesquero!

We are a family of 4, three adults and one teenager and booked a 2 weeks Cuba vacation in Holguin, at Playa Pesquero at the recommendation of our friends who vacationed here 3 times. It was our best Cuban vacation to date, and we cannot wait to go back! This is a wonderful resort with beautiful grounds and amazing people that work hard to make sure guests are happy and enjoy their time at Playa Pesquero! The ocean was picture perfect, with turquoise, crystal clear and warm water. Beach towels are always available! We didn’t spend much time at the pool because we are beach lovers, but the Canada celebration at the main pool was a great party, with a live band, drinks and so much fun! We made tons of friends at Playa Pesquero and we would have loved to party more and dance after dinner, in the lobby, but there was not much entertainment for adults and kids at night, beside the show, between 8-11pm. Hopefully the management will think of this and add a night dancing scene.The breakfast was great, we ate mostly omelettes, pancakes, and fresh fruits in the morning. We didn’t really care for the food at the buffet for lunch and dinner (quite repetitive and not a great variety), but the a-la-carts were all amazing for dinner. For lunch, we ended up eating almost everyday at the place by the beach, on the patio. The food here is all great: pizza, fish, pork, beef, and chicken was available the second week we were there. The food at beer garden is also very good, their chicken tastes like KFC! Our 2 connected rooms we stayed in (top floor in building 11) were nice and large, with ice cold air conditioning and big balconies. Beautiful resort and, I have to repeat this, what makes this resort different from other resorts is all the amazing people that work here! All staff, from managers to gardeners, greet you, smile to you, ask if everything is okay, make you feel like home and like part of the big Playa Pesquero family! We brought gifts from Canada and tipped everyone because we wanted to show our appreciation for their hard work! They appreciate monetary tips, but cannot buy much with money in Cuba so please, if you’re going and have room in your luggage, bring gifts they can use: toothpaste, toothbrush, make-up, toys, baby stuff, toys, chips, sweets that don’t melt easily, Nutella, crackers, fishing stuff for the gardeners, etc. You can get more gift ideas by reading reviews on TripAdvisor website, if you want. We are in love with Playa Pesquero and highly recommended this resort!

It was my first time in Cuba and I had great, relaxing experience while staying at the resort. Very friendly staff, outstanding services, spa, food and drinks, spectacular entertainment team and live performers.

Playa Pesquero: #1 resort in 30 years plus of travel to the south

1st time to this hotel and we are looking forward to returning. Beach #1 Staff #1 Food is good, selection is good, are you really going south for the food! Rooms were spacious Showers were awesome. Hot water any time every time. I do not think anyone could honestly complain about this resort. Staff and management congratulations on a job well done. Look for Yonlier. Iberostar Selection Holguin: Beautiful Clean Resort

We just came back from Iberostar Holguin. It's a beautiful 7 day vacation. The hotel is beautiful and clean we are in the 3rd level and 2 connected rooms. Beautiful modern big and clean. The room attendants changing lenins everyday and towel. Everytime we came back room is nice and clean. With fresh bottled water. Beach is really nice two beaches for a small children near the hotel and the other one is in the other side and you have to cross this beautiful wooden bridge. Or you can ride. On  [... read more]the club car. Lots of them so all you have to do is pick up the phone and tell them to pick wherever you are. Or if you are at the beach let the security guard know or life guards. Food at this resorts is abundant. No shortage for sure. Lots of choices. From breads cold cuts cheeses meats seafood pastas and different kind of rice . Lots and lots of selection. Plus lots of desserts and fresh fruits!!! Amazing fruits and fresh juice. And delicious coffee I always get cappuccino .the manager at the bar and buffet and 4 other restaurants is Hippolito amazingly friendly man. Keep up the good work sir!! all servers is nice and helpful. They're always happy to serve you. Mayelin always takes care of us. And the others too. Cocktails and wine.. rum vodkas and whisky.. you have it all. From checking in Yemina is their to help you and Christian. Any other questions the public relations, Wilkyns is so amazing kind always happy to help you in anything. I love people at this Resort. Everyone of them even I didn't even mention names. They are very lovely people. Resort has a 24 hr snack Bar and 24 hr bar as well. Beach has bar to get drinks. And snack. Over all this place is beautiful it's has 3 big pool and other one is for kids. It's fun here too entertain ment every night. And lots of daytime activities. For people who wanted to know if there's mosquito? My son is sensitive to a mosquito bite and he didn't have any single one. It's a beautiful vacation. Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Amazing resort

Great location, Luna part closed due to renovation. Mares is completely renovated. Very helpful representatives at the front desk. Excellent service in restaurants bars etc. Clean updated rooms and facilities, everything in our rooms was functioning properly.. Playa Esmeralda is something that can not be described by words, you have to experience it. We'll be back.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Good resort

The hotel was good very nice, it had alot of things to do. Various activities plenty of food and variety overall the staff was friendly. Although there were a couple of rude ones the majority were friendly and professional. The grounds was kept up and there was alot of entertainment and although it seems like a great hotel the couple of bad experiences I had with them it became sour for me. If you go for the price it is a great value but you could find better hotels for the same price.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Better than 3 star

Hotel was very well for the price we paid. Grounds, room, beach area, restaurant were kept clean but some of the guests were not uneducated for that metar. Restaurant had everyday srip, labster, lasagna and other food. Best of all the, the juices in the restaurant and some bars was pure natural & organic, (no sugar & additives added)

Grand Memories Holguin: Relaxing vacation

Stunning large resort great layout easy to access. Hotel includes restaurants.lounge. Swimming pools, game room, theatre. gym and beach. There is also tennis courts and the basketball courts are almost complete. The beach is beautiful. The a la carte restaurants are very good. The buffet restaurant always had fresh grilled fish chicken or pork. Our family had a great time. I do recommend the excursions. The snorkelling and dolphin trip was a lot of fun!

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Very nice place

We were 3 families and each of us enjoyed this nice resort. Attentive staff, good kitchen with fresh meals, very clean rooms with every day bed linen change, well maintained walk passes, easily accessible beach mini shuttles, good service at the beach! The only 2 things that could be different were the early check out at 7 am, followed by an announce of the flight delay in 5 minutes. And the evening animation for adults offered very little... Extremely,Extremely Amazing, beautiful resort. I would certainly go back for another vacation. All interaction with employees and ground workers were pleasant, respectful and interesting. I must say That I enjoyed my stay there Immensely.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Excellent Experience

Rooms were clean, as was the property, grounds and pools. The staff was friendly and service was excellent. This was the first time I have been to Cuba and the beaches are beautiful. The food at this resort was quite good, and better than I expected based on other people’s reviews of food in Cuban based resorts.

Playa Pesquero: Amazing people!

This resort is a lovely big one with many different restaurants, places to sit with an espresso, plenty of chairs both at the pool and the beach and has great entertainment. My favourite thing about Cuba and this resort are the kind sweet people! The beaches, sea and sun are what draws me there but the kindness of the people are what brings me back time, time and again! They chat and ask how the visit is going and if something is needed they are quick to rectify. Every time I requested a drive to the front desk or a restaurant the driver was there in less than 5 mins and cheerfully drove me where I needed to go. I would definitely recommend this resort to others!!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: My favourite resort

Why? You won’t find more helpful staff. Professional and friendly. Awesome drinks, Barristas. Can’t beat the awesome Viennese Ice Coffee at Ashley’s Coffee Bar by Roberto. The Villa, overlooking the ocean hard to compare! The house band plays at most meals and is truly delightful. Amazing, smooth, sand beaches! I was treated with so much respect, everywhere at this resort. My dental and medical attention here, was indeed exceptional. Thanks to ALL!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: A good bang for your buck!

The hotel is well maintained but tired. Check-in was simple enough but our room was not prepared based on our request. After an entire day of travel and transfer delays; we were a dismayed to walk in to a room that was crammed with three double beds. The safe didn’t work and the washroom basin did not drain. We were tired and decided to speak to the hotel in the morning, after we got some rest. When I explained, the wheels went into motion immediately. We did experience food, water and electricity shortages but we knew the country was struggling with this. I would say that there could be some kind of notice posted advising guests of the issue but otherwise it was a good experience. Lovely beach with interesting on-site snorkelling. Wish tourists would not leave their plastic cups on the beach…we need to help preserve the pristine beaches we visit. Kudos to the staff who work hard and go out of their way to please. Iberostar Coral Holguin: Beautiful resort

An absolutely beautiful resort. Pools and beach were wonderful with adequate amount of chairs available. Staff throughout the resort were very attentive and there was nothing lacking. The Coral restaurant had a very good variety and we ate there most meals. We did try the Japanese restaurant and enjoyed both the food and show. We didn’t try the other restaurants as the Coral Restaurant had everything we wanted.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Excellent Hotel

Just came back from a fabulous week at Sanctuary Grand Memories Holguin. Been traveling to Cuba for 22 years because we love the beautiful people and beaches. This was our first time in Holguin at this resort and we loved it. Sanctuary restaurant was amazing, all the ladies and gentlemen were great. Malena is wonderful, the famous Jorge was great so glad to have met him too bad he has moved to another hotel but we wish him much success and happiness. Lacking a little in nightly entertainment but a lot of hotels seem to be these days. Resort is further away harder for talent to come and entertain just for an hour I get it. My husband and I had a fun and relaxing time. He is a bit of a picky eater and he never had any issues with having a great meal every time. Yes maybe repetitive at times and may not have all that you like personally but no one is starving there. In any all inclusive food can get repeated so just enjoy it. I highly recommend this hotel - if adults only it’s worth the upgrade to Sanctuary- Grand Memories side looked like families with kids also had a great time. The drive from airport to hotel a bit long but it is 100% worth it Thank you Sanctuary we will be back again and bringing our friends to enjoy as well 🇨🇺❤️🏖️
