Great Vacation

This was our second visit to this resort , the first being 2 years ago. We saw many improvements from the first visit. The rooms were very clean, we saw fewer gardeners than we did our last visit which resulted in lack of grounds maintenance. The lobby bar still lacks in service for some reason, we usually had to go to the diamond club bar in the lobby. The beach is rocky ( lava rock ?) but I never had a problem getting to the amazing part of the ocean. There is lots of starfish, conch shells an [... read more]d various others to see, but if people continue to remove them and kill them to bring home they will not be there!!! The food was great , we never had a problem finding something to eat ! We spent 3 hours at the pool but it was too noisy for us, off to the beach it was ! Overall it a great value, we may return again but we are probably going to try somewhere new next year.

Very nice resort.

As this was my first trip, I was very impressed.. The resort was clean and well maintained.. Although I did go 2 days without a bathroom light.. Told various people each day about it, it finally got resolved.. All staff were friendly but if you do travel to memories flamenco you must find Hector who works in the lobby bar.. He without a doubt goes above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met..

Nice Resort

First impression of the grounds was very lush and well-kept gardens, and quite large area. Our bungalow was #10, which was the furthest away from the amenities. I don't mind walking, but very hot when you have to walk it in the middle of the afternoon. That said, somebody has to do it! Also an advantage we had was away from some of the noisy riff-raff at the hotel in the wee hours of the morning. Would have preferred to be a little closer. The room was nice and comfortable, and the maid did a go [... read more]od job. The buffet at the restaurant had a nice variety of food, and we usually came away satisfied. There was a good assortment of entertainment in the evening, including a time for children. Wasn't crazy about the beach, as there was so much rock, however, there was about a 20 foot wide sandy spot to comfortably enter the ocean. Spent just about every day down there. Very relaxing. We found that there were many of the same people who saved the lounge chairs in the shade by the pool with their towels. It was witnessed people were actually saving the lounges the night before. Probably, the hotel can't do much about this unfair practice, but it just seemed to be like an exclusive club there. Would have also liked to have a washroom down at the beach area, as it was a fair walk to the closest one at the resort. We went on the Moron-plus excursion. Parts of that tour were not what we cared about, possibly because of the heat. Had only 25 minutes to visit the different souvenir shops, which I found not enough time. The best part was going to a lake and having a ride in a speed boat, and ending with a delicious meal. In closing, I always find 1 week goes by so fast, and really did not want to leave.

Wonderful holiday -- great flight on Sunwing-- would definetly go again Customer Service excellent--- the beach was wonderful and the Cuban people--- great holiday with a good price---and the weather was wonderful

Nice resort, but food subpar

Beautiful resort, we were there in march of 2013, and last week and the food definitely has taken a huge step down, the drinks were great, the service excellent but the food was not good, i don't know if management changed, i don't think we will return.

Beautiful resort, beautiful beach and pools

Absolutely beautiful, very clean, friendly people, loved the beach and pools, would recommend this resort to others.Lots of things to do on this resort.Would recommend anyone who visits this resort to do the catermeran, the glass bottom boat and walk the beautiful beach.Loved the 24 hour grill on site.Grounds are very clean.Make sure you take in some shows and visit Gastavo , the bartender who makes the most delicious chocolate martinis.

Friendly staff...great fresh fish

Stayed at Memories Flamenco for a wedding vacation. It was iur first time in Cuba. The wedding on the pier gazebo is the most picturesque imaginable. All staff from bartenders to maids to gardeners were extremely friendly. if you like fish it is worth the wait at the fish grill in the main buffet restaurant. Beach is great but making a half day trip to Pilar beach is mandatory. There are planned bus trips or you can take a taxi. You won't regret it. Beautiful amazing resort!!!

The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The staff were fantastic. The meals were hit and miss but it is Cuba and can be expected. The pools were fantastic. The beach wasn't as good as I had hoped. Varadero beaches were better. Overall, it was an amazing stay that i will never forget.

Excellent Resort

The resort was all around awesome. We have no complaints at all. The grounds were clean and minted l dayomg by friendly groundskeepers the rooms we had were clean and comfortable, once again the cleaning staff made sure we were happy with everything even with the language barriers they were still able to get along with their courtesy and friendliness. Lovely resort

This was probably one of the top 3 hotels we have been to in Cuba . If it weren't for the coral issue it would have been our top 1. Great staff. Well maintained. Managers on site all day and very helpful and professional. Ask for Noelia or Raul if you have any problems.

Fabulous resort!

It was my second visit to Memories Flamenco Cayo Coco. It is a great resort. The people are heartfelt and I enjoy my time with them, they are amazing! The rooms are great and comfortable. They are kept very clean and well supplied. If there is a need for extra items, it is a call away and they are very efficient. The food is awesome and plenty of variety, the staff are also very attentive and gracious. I have recommended Memories to many people and I will return. Very Nice

This was a nice resort overall and we had a good time! PROS: - Martini bars at dinner time (of you drink) - Pool - Ocean - Staff - Shows - Tennis Courts - Ambiance - Shows - kayak, paddles boats, and catamaran that you can use at the resort: Get the staff to take you out for a ride. For some extra pesos you can go on an extended one but just make sure you reserve in advance CONS: - Beds: The most uncomfortable and hardest beds I have ever laid on. Never got any real sleep. - Beach: The majority  [... read more]of this beach is coral! Yes there is a couple of spots that is cleared where you can enter the amazing water, but even the sand is not cleaned and has a lot of rocks and twigs. I hurt my feet several times so you really need water shoes. Once you get in, it is amazing and we swam a lot! - Boardwalk and beachside snack bar: This area is in total disrepair and the stairs leading into the water are quite dangerous. the snack and beach bar are like broken down shacks really. Very uncomplimentary to the rest of the resort and disappointing to find it is such a state. Overall the food was average fair with good variety. My biggest complaint here is that there is only 1 commercial toaster for breakfast and a huge line up every morning. Why wouldnt they get a few toasters for us Canucks who need our toast in the morning??? Also watch for uneven surfaces around the resort. Sitting in the lobby bar one day we saw a girl stub her toe as she tripped from one transitioning surface to another. On our last night when we went to the theatre I tripped and fell on the cement in the same area. There are several areas where the surface changes do not match and tripping hazards everywhere so be careful. Also one day by the pool there were several workers maintaining a garden and proceeded to pour fertalizer, stones, dirt, etc, that blatantly blew all over us. They kept driving back and forth on their truck and it was very disturbing. These guys could have cared less but more importantly, they should have been directed to do this sort of job before 11 a.m. of after 5 when there is far less use of the pool by the guests. instead they were doing this a peak time which made us uncomfortable, dirty, and frankly unhappy! Overall we had a good time, enjoyed the amenities, shows, and water, but I would not return to this particular resort.

What to do on windy cool days

For the days when it is too windy and cool to swim and lay down and bake in the sun go for a walk. We walked about 2 miles to the west of the hotel. We saw fan coral, sponges, sand dollars, snails. We could walk about 100 yards into the ocean and it was only about one foot deep. The 24 hour snack restaurant had the best breakfast. Eggs with bacon or sausage with double espresso fresh made. My wife had the coffee latte. I much prefer fresh made eggs and bacon, taste much better than the buffet ve [... read more]rsion. They serve you at the table, much better than waiting in line at the buffet. There was a selection of donuts and bread if you don’t want bacon and eggs. The 24 hour snack restaurant served breakfast from 7AM till noon when it switched to lunch menu. The Wednesday night show was the phantom of the opera and cats which was purry good. The Michael Jackson imitator was not as good as the one we saw in Varadero. Some sun worshipers were beet red, I don’t get that. A spear fisherman with snorkel and spear gun got a fish of about 8 lbs. The sailboats and kayaks were only available two days of our 7 day stay because of the high winds. I believe they should have been available for 5 days in my opinion. As usual my fellow travelers leave their towels to claim a place in the shade of sun. The hotel that can figure out how to overcome this system will get my business

A great time for all.

Good food, great service, wonderful beach. Pools were great, activities were fun and engaging. Some issues with the water, but nothing catastrophic. We took a day trip to Pillar beach, which was wonderful, highly recommend it.

Great service

Stayed April 9-16th, 2015 as a couple at this resort. We Pros: great staff, great service, clean rooms, no bugs, lots of beach chairs available, plenty of buffet food, well organized events, great cappucino and cocktail drinks! Beach was beautiful, however, water shoes are needed. Compared to other resorts the hard coral is plentiful here. 3 gifts shops on the resort were worthwhile-nice to have snacks and souvenirs at hand. Cons: plumbing/ water issues. At times the was no water pressure to hav [... read more]e a shower or wash your hands in the sink and you would need to wait over 45 minutes until water pressure resumed. Perhaps that was only during high peak times when others were showering, however, this happened in multiple buildings at the resort at random times throughout the day.

Needs tweeking

The staff overall are very friendly and helpful. I am not a big fan of the lava rock at the beach but was still a beautiful beach and plenty of loungers. The rooms were standard, although there was no water pressure and the bedding was yellow, but once changed they were better but still some staining. There were 3 of us in the room so figured it would be 2 double beds, instead one king size and a cot(which was terrible). The food was good, always something you could find to eat that was tasty. A child's excitement

From the sun wing flight into cayo coco, Cuba, the stay at memories flamenco and the flight home, Lilah's smile could not be broken. A 4 year olds review of this resort is one of delight and enthusiasm. At The crack of dawn, the thought of swimming and the excitement of meeting new friends was a reality and not a dream. She was able to visit with cousins from afar in what she calls "summer" (although all adults know it as winter). Watching toopy and binoo perform, shaking their hands and getting [... read more] pictures to last forever is top on her list as well as ice cream, muffins and red slushies of course. As our trip ended she was not at all impressed to go home and now that were home constantly asks if we are going to Cuba today. Decent resort at good price

Great resort if you're looking for a moderate type resort at a good price. Rooms are decent....clean which is most important. Nothing special about them. Very basic.....thin sheet and 2 thin blankets for the bed. We were checked into a room with 2 single beds (and had booked a king). They were full so we had to stay the first night and switch the second. Food wasn't great....I've definitely had better.....even in Cuba! Eat at the beach grill for lunch if you can...but get there early because everything goes quickly.

It was the perfect getaway !!!

My husband and I were very impressed with all aspects of our vacation, from our communication with our Tripcentral rep to the total organization of our stay at the beautiful resort. By day 2 we were already planning our next visit !!

Friendly Resort

We stayed for a week at Flamenco. During our stay the biggest complaint I had was the bank. You could never get Peso's. The staff were friendly throughout the resort. A special thanks goes out to Carlos Enrique who works in the entertainment dept at the resort. We had a lot of fun with him and he came over for his daily visits and chats with us. We did not go on any excursions as we were th [... read more]ere to just relax, we did go to the market one day which was really not worth it, found better deals at the airport. The lobby had a beautiful sitting area the only thing is you had to constantly listen to the "Welcome to Flamenco" song play over and over as each bus load of people came, that was a little annoying. As for the elite plus, it did have some perks but not enough worth talking about. The beach is definitely rough, and snorkeling is not the greatest not a large variety of fish to see, that was very disappointing. I did enjoy the food it was great and there was hardly any bugs. I also want to say thank you to the female doctor and her nurse they were wonderful when my husband got a case of food poisoning, they came to our room and dealt with it all there. It was very accommodating in that aspect. The pools are always clean there was a few days that it was a little slimy on the bottom but that is to be expected with that many people in the pool. I just wish they had more lawn chairs very hard to find seats for a group of people and people were out at the crack of dawn to reserve their locations. The water ballet was a disappointment, that's always been my favorite thing to watch but they did it during the day and it just did not have the same affect. The Michael Jackson show was really good, as well as the Cuban show. I was disappointed in Sunwing as usual because they were delayed again flying in. That has got to be the most frustrating thing . All and all I can say it was a good trip though.
