Melia Las Americas: Good beach, food, people

Adults only hotel. Middle of Varadero Peninsula. Right at the golf course. Shopping mall near by. Really really good beach. Very clean hotel. Food is solid, been to this hotel several times and the consistent food quality helps our decision to return. Evening entertainment was usually live music and performers. Once or twice a week there was a beach party. Large 900+ square foot suites available in the level section, some with two bathrooms.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Food sucks

They run out of certain food like chicken. Only one day they had fresh cut tomatoes and pickles.. no lettuce or salad as we know it. Fruits were limited. Too many mosquitos at buffet during dinner. Every room has some issues and no matter how many times you report at the lobby, they will not come to check. For example I reported the issue with saftey box since day one at least every day, but no one ever came to fix it!!!!

Playa Vista Azul: Super hotel , clean, will recommend to everyone.

This hotel is nice maintained, nothing was missing. Rooms are clean, towels changed daily, no complain. Common aerie are really nice kept, I really don't have anything bad to say. I will tell everyone who want to go to Varadero to go to this hotel.

Melia Varadero: Amazing resort!

We’ve stayed at Meliá Varadero several times and keep coming back for a reason! The staff are amazing — friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The buffet offers plenty of variety with delicious meats, fish, and sides, and the desserts are to die for — big compliments to the pastry chef! The grill restaurant served the best paella and lobster we’ve ever had. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are renovated, and the atmosphere is simply perfect. Melia Las Americas: If golf is your priority then this is the place to stay!!

Always keep in mind that you are in Cuba and not Mexico, DR or Jamaica. Resorts are limited by government regulations as to what they can import or what they can provide at their resort. Therefore, there are not the varieties of foods, beer and liquors that are available elsewhere. The rooms are tiny and the plumbing is primative. Elevators are extremely tiny (4 adults will fill them) and there are only 2 elevators that are extremely slow. The buffet is adequate. The Lobby bar (closes at 11pm.), the cafeteria bar is open all the time and the beach and pool bars which open at 9am. The golf course is a 3 minute walk from the resort to the Pro Shop and you can store your clubs there so no need to carry them back and forth. Golf is included in your cost but you must pay $44USD per person for the golf cart which is mandatory. All in all it was great value for the money and a lot better than what I was expecting. I will definitely be going back.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Home away from home in Varadero

We came back recently from Resonance Blu. Great hotel with beautiful beach, amazing staff, well maintained grounds and decent food. I would recommend this hotel and probably will be back soon. Special thanks to customer relations department, animation, our made we stayed in building 22. Yoga with Amanda and as great!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Disappointed

The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are nicely, renovated, clean and comfy. The bartenders at the poolside bar as well as a snack bar were the absolute best!! The housekeepers were so sweet! We loved the pools. I did encounter multiple crabs in the pools.. a huge one crawled under my foot at the swim up bar, but definitely out of the resorts control. We heard such amazing things about the food at Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo and was hoping it would come through. Beach restaurant was closed our entire stay, my little one was looking forward to pizza. Lots of repetitive dishes, some were edible. We witnessed a bad case food poisoning from the à la cart international menu by another family staying on the resort. Lastly, due to hurricane Melissa approaching; our flight was delayed 5 days prior too leaving, I went to the front desk to ask to extend our room for a few hours. Original flight was set to depart at 4:25pm, that changed to 9:25pm arriving into Toronto at 12:50am. Please keep in mind that there is roughly 150 hotel rooms and there were probably about 100 vacant rooms. There was maybe 50 people at most at the resort during our stay. It was not busy at all. We were first asked if we were repeat guests, I said no. I feel that if we were repeat guests then we would have been treated different. They the told me that it will be $20 an hour to keep our room. That they don’t give anything for FREE. My husband and I decided not to pay that. Then we then were told we had to pay $20 deposit for each beach towel. We had no choice as we were still in the pool. We then went to our room and began removing our luggage and by 11:20am the housekeepers were outside our hotel room door ready to clean… check out was at 12pm. We had spoke to other guests that were repeats and they were absolutely baffled in the outcome. Sadly, we will not return to Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo. We love Cuba, the people and the culture.

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Very pure customer service

Nice hotel, very very clean everywhere ground and room.Food is ok, nothing special but very tasty. Biggest concern about customer service. I read many reviews about Dennis What she amazing bur she do nothing just walking around or sitting in beach bar and drinking beer. I saw it myself. We requested sofabed and waited 18 hours. I back to the lobby twice and customer service manager just open her eyes and answer "you still don't have sofabed it's strange. The beach is ok but not perfect . Gran Muthu Rainbow Cayo Guillermo: Gran Mathu Rainbow Cayo Guillermo

The resort clean on the outside ,it is an older resort so some needed touch up would help .. The staff were great and friendly..Food quality wasn’t the greatest ..They did have eggs in the morning..Pool patio bar had your staples of snack food ,they would run out product constantly..Night entertainment was great ..The beach is not walkers beach

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Terrible

Unfortunately the room at Sanctuary Grand Memories was one of the worst I’ve stayed at. The room has a musty smell and the whole room was always damp. One wall was so wet, it kept forming puddles on the floor. Floor was always damp and slippery and always seem to have a greasy film on it making it always slippery. I realize that food is always hit and miss, but no cheese for several days, bread was alw [... read more]ays stale, very minimal fruit, no beer in bottles or cans, mini bar in room was only stocked with pop and water, which was disappointing as we upgraded to premium room and usual a bottle of liquor would be included. Pool was closed a few days because of some biting insects in the pool, and, unless the employees got up at the break of dawn to clean the pool in the premium section, I never witnessed anyone cleaning the pools

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Simply WOW

Everything about the Luna y Mares was AMAZING, Esmeralda Beach and the staff most of all. The buffet was good and well stocked, the bars had many drink options and the "À la carte" restaurants were wonderful (I need the recipe for that cuban bean soup!). The gardens are beautiful and grounds extremely well kept. The rooms are clean and spacious. All in all, even if my luggage was delayed for 5 days (nothing to do with the resort), it was an amazing stay and we will definately be going back.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Great times at Grand Aston Varadero

Nice modern hotel with great staff , clean grounds , big pool and beach is better than I expected . Food was ok but we don’t go to Cuba for the food and this is one of my fave resorts after being to Cuba 8 times . Would love to return

Romantic lots off palm trees friendly clean relaxing nature beach amazing greate pool music food also good good wine love the sun breeze greate place r singles and couples also quite and peaceful no issues

Starfish Varadero: Resort is ok

Clean good service Cuban way everything is slow but that’s is the way they work ajust to they way and everything else is fine don’t try your way respect the people who work to the resort the beach is amazing everybody is so friendly they try to help you have a nice holiday enjoy if you don’t like anything just go to front desk and they will give you some good information about the problem enjoy because Cuba is good

Blau Arenal Habana Beach: Blau Arenal Habana Beach

The hotel was good , the room was always clean the service was good , the beach is dirty beer cans all over the place and you have to watch for broken glass on the beach the town was 30 minutes away it was a nice walk. Over I had a wonderful time and going back in February

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing place

Hi Lisa, thank you so much for reaching out to me. You’re very kind and sweet. My trip was amazing, I met lot of Canadian friends at the resorts. The room was large and nice. The services was great, staffs are very friendly and helpful. Amazing views for swimming pools and lot of activities. Few down side are. 1. The junior room building smell damp and musty. 2. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Resort is beautiful and beaches are stunning

I had a good vacation at this resort food was adequate staff were great for service I said good not great because flying with west jet was the biggest mistake of my vacation they charged me$60 for my luggage one way and another $60 on return flight the worst part of it is I only find out when I’m at the airport I never received information about it when I was booking or before my trip and my travel agent never informed me either this is inexcusable from trip central very disappointing I will nev [... read more]er purchase any vacation that flight with west jet in the future I hope this helps someone make better decision wets jet is the only airline charges your one piece luggage

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Big resort

HOTEL IS NEW, FOOD REALLY GOOD FOR CUBA. CORRIDORS, WAlKWAYS SLIPPERY. BEACH IS NICE. WATER WARM IN OCTOBER. WATER IS NOT TO CLEAR, ROCKS IN WATER. SWIMMING POOLS ARE GREAT. STAFF IS GREAT ESPECIALLY MELISSA.

The Beach and the weather are amazing. The Staff are the Best you will find anywhere!! "Iberostar" knew they were leaving the Hotel and did not put any money or resources into the Hotel for the last year, leaving the Resort in disrepair! The Resort is tirelessly working on repairs and filling Staff positions and the Staff are doing their best with what the have! We have been going to this Resort for 9 years, they are Family to us but, they need resources to get a handle on the Mosquitos, ,sand [... read more] fleas and biting little bugs as well as doors on the Food areas to keep the Birds out! WE LOVE the BELLA COSTA no matter who runs it! We will be back but maybe not next year :(

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort

Beautiful Beach, grounds, huge pool, helpful staff, buildings in good repair and every amenity close by, the perfect location for some R&R. Very good food selection, excellent service; I really couldn't have asked for anything more or better. I spent most of my stay right here at Sanctuary, but all of Grand Memories was available to me. Only about a five minute walk, but the shuttle was nice.
