room was okay, air conditioning was broken and no one came to fix it after being asked, lots of workers try to get you to take a “tour”, which is a 3 hour waste of time trying to upgrade you for money

Punta Cana Princess: Clean, quiet, pretty resort

Small, clean, quiet, pretty resort. Grounds and pool immaculate. Rooms a bit tired and worn but bright and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.Food not outstanding but access to resort next door provides variety of restaurants. If you are looking for a quiet holiday where everything is within easy walking distance this is your spot.

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Mediocre Resort

Very disappointed. First day there we were solicited by one of the staff claiming to take us on a "tour" of the resort so we would know where we could and couldn't go. Incidentally, even though Trip Central and Lifestyle's website say you can venture between the two, there are a lot of areas you can't. Turned out this was a scam to get us across the street to try and hard sell us a very expensive membership to a club. We were held over an hour before we came up with an excuse to get out of there [... read more] ! Another couple we spoke to said they were held for three hours in a separate room against there will and when they tried to leave the resort employee called his manager for additional intimidation. The beach was not great. There is an upper level equipped with pagodas which are very comfortable and a good bar where the food is acceptable. Pools are nice and the foam party is lots of fun ! The buffet is excellent with most foods available every day. Rooms are very dated and the resort is noisy all the time even at night when the peacocks start there wailing (didn't know they even made such a racket ).If you are looking for a place to relax this is NOT the place to be !

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Vacation !!!!!

Hotel was great, very clean, resort overall is very big, food was very tasty as well, chairs were always an issue, not having enough chairs for everyone, people coming early morning before the sun even comes up to save chairs and sometimes not being in the for must of the day, not fair for other vacationers that spend the same amount of money to be at this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Nice resort

We loved the resort and the pools and beach. No complaints there but unfortunately the food was not good. No salad in 2 weeks. I was sick on a few occasions which was not good as I spent this time in the room. We will not be back again. We complained to management and the did nothing. Many people were sick. Had trouble booking a la cartes as they were full trying to book online. I coul go on and on. This resort is not a 5 star. I’d give it a 2.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Extremely disappointed

In the past I have booked with Tripcentral.ca and I was very happy with their services. All agents I worked with, were thoughtful and did their best to help for the best possible experience. This time, the agent was only considering selling. I even emailed her, and the answer was worst than satisfactory. I replied and she never got back to me. Very disappointed in the services received. The hotel I was sent to is a total mess, from check-in to check-out.

Playabachata Hotel: Great Resort

I thought the resort was great. The only crappy thing was the Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby. There was always food and drinks. The AC broke on the last night and the coding started to come out of the bathtub and there were some ants in the bathtub as well, but other than that, it was really upbeat fun. We had a great time. The staff were amazing. We will be back.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Nice Comfortable resort

This resort is on the compact side ( not a bad thing) easy to get around. One of the nicest beaches ive seen wide with ample natural vegetation for shade and lots of umbrellas, soft sand. The pools are large with quiet and noisy ends Kids pool in between. There are quite a few kids at this resort, but there seems to be enough entertainment for them that you don't notice them that much. The a la carte restaurants are nice but other than the steak house not a great deal better than the buffet. The servers need more training on sit down dining etiquette As with most places in the Caribbean the trend continues here with very mediocre house wine and the option to buy a bottle that is so overpriced it feels like assault. The bar tenders free pour so the Daquiri you get on the beach may be very different from the one you get in the lobby. Over all decent value for your vacation dollar, but not in the top 5 of downs south resorts I have visited

Secrets Cap Cana: Secrets Cap Cana vacation

We had an amazing week at Secrets Cap Cana! The grounds were pristine and always well taken care of by the friendly staff. We stayed in a junior suite that was lovely, lots of fresh towels and anything by you could need. Our butler Darling was friendly and attentive and responded to our requests promptly. The restaurants available were delicious, we particularly enjoyed Seaside Grill and Oceana. I used the fitness center daily and my husband loved walking the beach. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Good Resort

The grounds were beautiful. Well kept. Thank you very much. Grounds people you work hard. Rooms are very dated. Had to have a fridge replaced as the other fridge was overheated. Thank you Carlos for your quick response.. Most staff were very friendly. Housekeeping staff and staff providers was good. The spa pool was lovely. Was calming. No blaring music. Much appreciated!!!!? Some staff speak quite loud which is unnecessary. Main pool area music extremely extremely loud, high bas [... read more]e, booming. Spoke to front staff and pool staff about the volume of music. Nothing really changed. Would not return due to this!!! Especially in the evenings after a long day. Beach was lovely and the staff were good. Dining room staff was generally good. Staff work hard.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Cheap, Clean Stay

The rooms, although dated, grounds and beach are well maintained. Entertainment was fun and engaging. The a la carte Chinese and Italian were amazing. The only draw back was the amount of cigarette and cigar smoking and the smell of sewage at certain times of the day.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Complex and Resort!!

The second time to the Bahia Principe complex in Punta Cana and it was even better than the first time. We stayed 10 perfect weather days, the food was excellent and booked a different restaurant every night. The buffet and grill food spots at the beach and pool areas also excellent!! Never bored and staff are so very friendly and superb service providers.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Great trip!

Beautiful resort, super clean and amazing service on the beach from Javier and Michael! Loved the ocean, preferred pool was very busy. Dinners were great, hard to pick a favourite. Only negative would be the poor service from our butler Jamie.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Super Clean, Super Easy

Small group winter get away in a Very clean resort, a little classic but well maintained and a great deal at this price point. One of the easiest check-in/checkouts ever. Food was great, drinks were plentiful and staff everywhere were just so nice and skilled. This is one of the best beaches we have seen. So clean and easy to get in and out.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: disappointed

this resort is very dated and in bad need of a lot of Repair. The beds were super hard. They had three pools at the resort and only one umbrella. The tiles around the pools were all loose the lounge chairs at the pool majority were ripped and stained. We were out of hot water for two days others were out for more than seven the staff, for the exception of two did not seem to want to be there would never speak They ran out of white wine on two days that I know of at the buffet. There was one toas [... read more]ter for the whole resort. It seems like this place is going down. I definitely would not recommend it. Other others that we talk to were the same very disappointed.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Good enough

Review of Wyndham Alltra Samana Location - It is a long way from the airport. Expect close to 2 hours depending on how many other resorts the bus stops at (our’s only stopped at one other). The flights leaving Toronto 2:30 will get to the resort by about 10 . We were told by others we would get a ham sandwich upon arrival since all the restaurants are closed at 10. However, we were able to grab a few leftovers from the buffet. Tip – go to the washroom before you leave the airport. • Roo [... read more]ms – quite lovely, modern, well laid out, shower is huge with rainhead shower head plus a hand held. Can’t comment on their shampoo/conditioner since I brought my own. They do give you lots of nice fluffy towels, including facecloths and toilet paper. To the point where they rarely had to restock. I liked that. AC works well. Sliding door actually is newish and works well. Enough storage. Room (premium) had no hairdryer,robe or umbrella. Front desk gave us a hairdryer. We were in building 7, close to beach and premium pool. 10 minute walk to buffet & restaurants. • Staff – nice but very little English. • Beach – lovely, random few rocks in first couple feet but don’t really need water shoes. Very little shade; if you must have, purchase and bring shade umbrellas from Amazon. Grassy area is nice if you don’t want sand in everything and much more personal space. On the sandy part, you may find others plunking down in your personal space. That was unpleasant and rude. • Pool – we only went in Premium pool twice – it is nice. The main pool looked nice too. • Drinks/bars – mixed drinks were awful – made with syrups which were gross. Skip them if you can. For us, the main drawback of the resort is no nice bar to relax after dinner. All evening activities, such as they were, are held at a brightly lit open bar by the main pool with plastic chairs. Entertainment is basically zero, with a DJ playing music backed up with the sound of plastic chairs scraping on the floor. • Snack bar on beach – great hamburgers, pizzas etc but expect 45 minutes to 1 hour wait. Quite disorganized. And really busy – usually few available tables. • Las Galeras -nice enough little town but not touristy at all. Small grocery stores etc. • Bonus – horses on property next door. Lovely. • Overall, nice but not enough to do the long transfers to/from airport and the food not great.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: El baso / El faro trip

The hotel adult side is rated as a 5, we had been to this property in 2019 El faro and now stayed at El baso. We have been to various Punta cana resorts approx 20 times. This hotel is a 3.5. Based on food, service, room condition, check in at El beso (Avery needs to improve on people skills ) and lack of Gluten free options, lack of ambiance in the a la carte restaurants noisy and buffet has better options, italian not good. Moldy rooms our friends room was moldy and smelled horrible, it took 2  [... read more]days to move them and the hotel rebooked the same room to someone else same day who in turn had the same issue. Why would that room not be taken out of service. Issues with front desk completing simple tasks like an additional blanket, filling the beer and water in fridge as promised and some arrogance . Dont put something in writing if you cant fufill it as a tour operator. Entertainment subpar except for fireshow which is a off premise group which tours hotels. Piano bar had an excellent pianist but horrible bar service every nite. Very little gluten free options many staff could not speak english and did not know what gluten free is which is dangerous if you have celiac or food allergies. One restaurant by the beach Villa marina, was never open, others were closed for private events which limited choice. Excessive attempts to upsell wines, beer and lobster at the a la cartes very annoying. We had a good time with our friends and will come back to Punta cana but somewhere else please note their are many great staff here which did provide excellent service such as the Pez damas restaurant at the beach excellent atmosphere ,food and service. The japenese Sakura restaurant was very good. Route 66 was typicall rd house but the hostess needs to lighten up and lose the attitude not much of a cheerlreader. Groundskeepwrs and security staff and bellboys and cart drivers were hard working. Lazy river is awesome,thankyou for topping up our floats. Great service at Mikes coffee and great selection but no gf deserts which you had in 2019. Beach lagoon was fun and safe to swim no reef or rocks. All in all we had a great time , well laid out resort, honest review and everyones experiece will differ based on their interactions and experiences and oh ya no snow to be found !

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort!

The resort was beautiful, everything within walking distance, beach was beautiful and the service amazing. Loved the strip with all the little shops, kids loved getting pizza and ice cream whenever they wanted. The performances were great each day. Food was good. Room was a little dated but clean and honestly we've stayed in worse. Everything in the room worked, hot showers, etc. would 100% not hesitate to return.

Adults Only Club at Lopesan Costa Bavaro: Not 5 star category

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. However the food and service was not great. We could not find any loungers by the main pool our entire stay and staff were not helpful. The booking system for the restaurants was frustrating and we had to take inconvenient times. The breakfast buffet in the morning was awful.

Riu Republica: very nice

We liked it very much and expect to get back. Nice resort, well situated on a long beach of white sand. Impressed by the number of chairs, the dunes next to the beach with shade under the trees. Lots of bars including wet bars, some more quiet, others with lots of entertaining. Liked the bar in te room with whiskey, rum, gin and vodka. Big (huge) self serve main restaurant. No sports on the beach, probably because of the wind. Nice waves though and clear water. Rooms are large with air conditioning running without having to keep a key card in the room. Good entertainment in most of the days. If it rained (one evening) we realized that we didn't have to go out in the rain to move almost everywhere on the site, On the bad side for the administration of the resort, the checkin was a nightmare. We did the online checkin in advance. We still spent more than one hour at the special checkin desk waiting in line to discover that our online checkin didn't count.
