Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Great for the Family

Just got back from a week at La Esmeralda with family & friends. The resort has a nice modern look but still feels like home. Rooms are very nice and kept very clean. The food was amazing, never ate at the same place twice. The beach is nice & clean and its close to a natural fresh water spring which the kids had fun playing in. My only complaint is the temperature of the pools. You shouldn't have to upgrade to family concierge to be able to enjoy the heated pool.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Paradise in Mexico 🇲🇽

The Bahia Principe Sian Ka’an was outstanding. Our Air Transat guides from Manuela who helped book the place to Evelyn and Antonia - all three were very informative and helpful in arranging our stay in the Mayan Riviera. Our room and the gardens were immaculate! Jorge gave us directions to the other beautiful resorts on the beach and topped it by having Ivan our butler decoratie our bed with rose petals and a bottle of wine! Could not have asked for better service- from the greeter at the buf [... read more]fet, to servers like Luis and Faustino and the variety of food made by such a creative chef was topped by the nightly entertainment! We would definitely come back but next time for 2 weeks! Great holiday to beautiful area of the world!

El Dorado Casitas Royale: They spoiled us

This is my third time to the Mayan Riviera & the second time to the Eldorado Royale. This time we stayed in a swim up Casita. The room was huge & had an indoor & outdoor shower. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are very attentive. The food is excellent and the spa is very relaxing.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Excellence Riviera Cancun 4th visit

This was our 4th visit to ERC. We liked it as much as we have in the past, hence the repeat visit. We met many repeat travelers and that is always a good sign. One complaint. I emailed 2 months ahead to request building 6 for our swim out room and emailed again 1 month before as well. When we arrived, we were placed in building 5 swim out - absolutely no sun at all at the room. As a result, we were up with others, seeking out loungers... we did not use the swim out room area at all. I woul [... read more]d never get a swim out room at this resort. Many of the buildings have shade part to most of the day. Swim out here is not worth it. (unless you get ocean facing excellence club swim out rooms) Food was fine, everything else was consistent to previous visits. Lovely place, just do not waste your money on a swim out room. Great location, not far from the airport. Beautiful beach. Lots of pool to go around. One heated pool. Friendly staff. Good service.

Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful Resort

Very well maintained. Beautiful walkways. Nice rooms, however our room was very smelly and I got a bad headache the first night I stayed. I think it was a mold problem. Also, the air conditioning was not adjustable and was very cold. When we turned off the air conditioning, there was a bad sewer smell in the room. Our friends did not have this problem in their rooms so it might be an isolated problem. The other issue we had was 3 of us booked back in July, 2017 and we were not placed tog [... read more]ether. Our rooms were quite far apart which made it hard to contact each other. Also, the WIFI connection was bad and kept kicking us out. Needed to sign in all the time. If not for our bad room, I thought the resort was lovely.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Family Vacation

The best part of this hotel for us was the room. We had a one bedroom jacuzzi pool view that enabled us to lay my son down in his crib in the bedroom, and still have use of the room and large balcony. There was also a zero entry pool that was great for him to splash around and play with a few toys at. We even had a visit from some monkeys one day! Grand Sunset Princess: Huge Resort

Beautiful resort. Food was mediocre. Not enough variety of fruit. Our room smelled musty, and I’ve got a chest infection now as a result. The wait staff, cleaning staff were phenomenal. Wish there were more stores in the hotel.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Wonderfull resort set in a mangrove forest.

Grand Palladium Kantenah is one of three Grand Palladium hotels all within walking distance from each other with access to all three at all times. They share 9 great restaurants plus a few buffets. I would consider the buffet to be very standard and most of the restaurants were very good. Staff always friendly and helpful. The thing we loved most about this resort is that there are no highrise hotels. All rooms are in 3 storey villas spread out in a gorgeous mangrove forest. We were there in early January and did not see any insects or bugs which surprised me considering we were in a forest. There is approximately 2.5 kms of beach that you can walk in front of the resort. Mostly beautiful sand with a few areas with some rocks. The resort was very clean and our bed was comfortable. I would not recommend this resort for anyone with mobility issues as there is a lot of walking to do. They do offer transportation via golf carts/trains but we found these to be inconvenient and prefer walking.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Amazing Couples Vacation

Our entire experience at the Royal Playa del Carmen was fantastic. The resort was smaller, so everything was a short walk away. The resort provided options to be as active or relaxed as a guest would like to be. We enjoyed walking the beach at sunrise, as well as going to the 5th Avenue shopping in the afternoons just a few blocks from the resort. Within the resort, the restaurants, bars and cafes serve wide range of premium choices. The resort's motto, expect the exceptional, really reflects the high standard of service my husband and I received from staff throughout our stay.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: I will be back!

Unfortunately for us the weather wasn't the best for us during our stay, but that being said all the amenities at the resort helped keep us active and able to enjoy our week. Having the hotel amongst the jungle gave us the opportunity to see the monkeys and other native species. The room that we stayed in was one of the older rooms and could probably use a little face lift but the staff kept it clean and comfortable for us. Tukan Hotel Playa Del Carmen: Second visit for us. Quite happy with resort location and helpful and courteous staff

I will be returning again in May. Despite poor reviews we have been very satisfied with our stays at the Tukan. Grounds are kept very clean. Public washrooms also very clean. Staff at reception and other staff we encountered were all pleasant. Room was great. Good size and comfortable. Plumbing and hot water worked well. A/C and TV were fine. Our ground floor room was steps away from lounge chairs and the pool. Music from a bar was somewhat loud but stopped at a reasonable hour. Great value a [... read more]nd location for the money. Really can't complain about anything.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: First time in Mexico

This resort was suggested as a great place to start for our first trip to Mexico and the price was good. We were not disappointed, very, very clean and well organized with lots of helpful staff and fabulous food. Having access to all the other resorts was fun and kept it interesting. Booking trips through the hotel in the lobby was very easy and cheaper than our tour operator. Definatly will be going back to this place!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Grand Bahia Principe Coba

First the good things: • Nice grounds, grass, trees, walkways, pathways etc.. • No crowds because of the size of the grounds and villas distances from each other • Very nice and friendly personnel everywhere • Access to Bahia Tulum beach and facilities • Lots of room in the pools • Lots of lawn chairs around the pool and on the beach • Lots of palapas everywhere, pools, beaches • Good choices of food and restaurants • Excellent service from every employee • No lo [... read more]cal vendors on the beach (very few) • Good size, clean and nicely decorated room • Good size safety deposit box (physical key not the best option) • Mini fridge refilled every day with beer, drinks and water Second, things not so good: • Smell of sewer on the grounds. Something that has to be fix fast • Signage is not good in general. Area of this hotel is big. People are cruising constantly asking for directions. Maps are confusing and too small so the names on them are too big and they cover up some areas. No legends on some of them. • Numbers on golf carts running around the hotel are too small. Maps are showing numbers, they should be on carts roofs, not windshield. • Smokers are everywhere. The World has changed; get them into designated areas, not in front of the main lobby. At least one side should be smoke free.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: AWESOME

Picture this: A family of 5 leaving a small town to a totally different country called Mexico. They were shocked and astonished by what they saw. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was my family. First of all, I'll start off with the food. I honestly thought the food was completely amazing. Especially the pancakes, because I got 2 of them every morning. The tables were nicely set up, and once you sit down, you can straight away order drinks. For our lunch we always went to the snack bars, by th [... read more]e pool. My daughter, Tristyn, would always have the frozen yogurt for dessert at lunch and dinner. There were always donuts for my son. And my other daughter loved the tea there. Finally at dinner, we would usually go to the Tropical or Colonial, and the food is UNDESCRIBABLE. The whole family loved all the food there, and especially the fruit and white chocolate. There were many drinks for my kids, and a lot for me too. Our hotel was, once again, amazing! We had a premium room, but a regular room still probably would have been amazing. I loved late night Jacuzzi's, and my kids had fun in it before dinner. The bathrooms were great too, but the door to the toilet wouldn't completely close. There was a little safe where we stored important stuff, and the beds were good, but they weren't very comfy. Our view was amazing, especially for sunrise or sunset pictures. Next is the pool and beach. The beach has the most amazing water ever! It's so clear!! My son and daughter loved snorkeling in the ocean by the palace. They got to see different types of fish, and lots of SEATURTLES! They were quite cute, I gotta say. My other daughter sat on the nice and warm sand and listened to her music or read a book. But she did love the pool, and swam in the pool a lot. The pool had different activities for my oldest daughter, while my son and daughter and their dad swam in the pool. My daughter had a friend, so it would actually usually just be my son and their dad. I would lay on one of the chairs and tan. Parties would be at the jaguar. But the jaguar is for 18 years and up. For the kids in the day, kids club is a good place to send them if their under the age of 8. At night, the shows are ok there, but the Micheal Jackson show was our favourite. But after that, its a very quiet environment. Aside from the show and the jaguar, its like an empty island. Which, is very good for sleep, so you can wake up and enjoy the next day. Service was great, but I love Cuban people. Everyone was nice and polite towards us when we went to get drinks or food. House keeping was good too, and she kept our hotel clean. Overall, this was amazing and I highly recommend this resort!!!!!!!!! P.S: I recommend buying the Tropical or Colonial sections

Tukan Hotel Playa Del Carmen: This place is worse than a motel 8!!!

This place was disgusting. The rooms were old and the bathroom shower was filled with mildew. The towels were and so old and threadbare, they were grey instead of white. Also they only gave us one towel per person each day ( I need one for my hair and one for my body and my husband needs one). Didn't think it would be a big deal to ask and get some more, but when we did....they said no!!!! Bedding was also old and threadbare. Only two pillows in the room . Overall, very disappointing experience and would never recommend this place to anyone but 20 year old frat boys!!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Pure paradise

There was not one thing that I can say was bad about the resort. I was totally impressed with everything from the rooms staff and entertainment. Also the food , I am a chef and I can honestly say that the food was amazing. We went to most of the restaurants and the best food at all of them. I am going back and bringing my kids this time.

Once again all services were top notch food was great housekeeping was great all staff were super polite the golf course is always in prestine condition. Pools were always clean and well looked after.

Bahia principe saan ka'an was beautiful loved the adults only and that we had access to coba tulum and premier I would highly recommend this resort. I did find it strange that we could not get corona or sol at the resort. Was not happy with air Canada coming home as we had a 9 hr delay

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: simply amazing

was good to be back to the sian kaan resort after 6 years...and as soon as I got to the lobby it felt like it was only a week before. The vegetation has grown lots and offers more shade and there were a few improvements since the last time, new stage area for entertainment, and a much bigger section on the beach for Adults only. The food is always spectacular, and the staff are the friendliest around. will definetly be returning again....sooner than the last time. James
