Melia Las Dunas: An Oasis of Beauty
What an amazing location, of white sand, blue waters, warm ocean breezes and beautiful landscapes and tropical trees and flowers. Cuba came a calling and the lure of relaxation is to be found there. The hotel is very large and for the most part very nice. Being 7 yrs. old it was assured by the Gen. Manager Mr. Moron that this property will be receiving a face lift in the very near future. The music and performers of the Cuban culture is unbelievably awesome. But what has drawn me to keep coming [... read more]

Hotel Camino del Mar: great resort
The food was really good,no problems finding something we liked. The beaches were really nice. Seagrass out a ways but provided for interesting snorkelling. The staff were great and the rooms well maintained. We will return to this resort.
Melia Marina Varadero: A work in progress
We stayed at this beautiful hotel last October . The hotel had only been open a few months and it was still having a few teething problems. We had a wonderful time ,it was quite empty so we had great service from the friendly staff. Few people were on the beach or in the pool which was great . Not all restaurants were open but usually the buffet and one other were each night. I think once all the little problems were ironed out ( locks on balcony doors locked automatically leaving guests strande [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Best Beach and Staff
The resort is 2 hotels both have beautiful grounds. We stayed in the Lunes which is the quieter of the two. Our room was large, beautiful view of ocean, very dated but clean. Luna Pool Bar was quiet and had wonderful, friendly staff and service. We were there during low season so were a bit disappointed in the buffet. Sometimes the meals were repetitive and a few shortages like orange juice. No blenders at the bar. Large machines for Piña Coladas. Excellent Cappucino. I liked the white wine. Be [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: GREAT PLACE
Everything for us is perfect--that's why we keep going back--7 times! This is an adults only resort and the beach is only a walk down a wide, easy, wooden staircase directly from the hotel. The staff is very good to us, but then again we have a great respect and treat all humans with dignity.
Tryp Cayo Coco: glad we came back
We were here last year around the same time. There have been some improvements with food variety. As returned customers we were treated very well and look fwd to hopefully coming back a 3rd time. Ocean view rooms are worth it. A la cartes were delicious!
Melia Las Dunas: Great time!
Melia Las Dunas was great. My wife and I went for our honeymoon in March. We stayed on the second floor after reading reviews about the bugs and we found it to be perfect. We had 2 ants 2 of the nights crawling around but you must expect some insects as you are in the middle of forest land. Tones of activities for everyone to do. We did yoga and all the other classes everyday by the pool. Played shuffle board, table tennis and did a lot of the beach activities and the dance classes on the beach. [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing staff and beautiful resort!
Nice location, beautiful resort. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Our 2 bedroom apartment was amazing. Our only complaint was the food could have been a little better, and an adults only section would be great.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good time but staff needs an overhaul in attitude
The resort says and we paid for Ocean view, but it was fight to get once we were there . The staff do not smile or welcome you. Chairs are scarce around the pool and the beach. Only stay in the new #6 building. On the good side. Sunwing's staff was a great help. Food was excellent for Cuba. I wish people would learn some manners and etiquette on buffet manners. I actually saw a woman break bread with her hands and leave the rest of the loaf. A KNIFE was in front of her. So yes I reminded her. So [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Disappointing
I was very disappointed in this hotel. It was not clean, my bed smelt like mould, our room door didn't lock even after having it fixed twice, food was awful(but it is Cuba and to be expected). They wanted to charge is $50 for leaving a towel by the pool that they said was lost but told me they had found three others that were left behind the night before. I would not return to this hotel and would never recommend it to my friends.
Paradisus Punta Cana: heaven on earth
every thing was amassing the food ,the rooms ,the water service was great the staff loved loved the spa ,cant wait to go back ,great casino loved the entertainment, the weather was absolutely beautiful,
Melia Las Antillas: Great Value
The resort is well maintained and the staff we're very friendly. The beach was beautiful and one of the best we've been to. Our room had a wonderful view and was very clean. We really enjoyed our trip into town on the open air bus.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Holiday
Hotel was very nice. Original room we were given was awful but we were put in a newer section after speaking with staff and that room was lovely. This was our first time to Cuba. The beach was amazing staff friendly and food was fine for us. We would go back again.
Starfish Cayo Largo: always beautiful
We were there once before and absolutely loved it that's why we went back. We stayed at the other resort but we preferred Sol pelicano. Everything is around the pool and don't have far to go to the beach. The grounds are all kept beautifully. The people who work there are always helpful and very friendly by constantly interacting with the guests. Food was very delicious. We loved seafood and had as much as we wanted. All in all we always recommend Sol pelicano to everyone and plan on going back [... read more]
Melia Santiago: The only decent hotel in Santiago
I would expect much more from the Melia hotel chain but since we are talking about Cuba, the hotel is certainly the best option for travelers to Santiago. The rooms are tired with dated furniture. Bathrooms are moldy and the tap water is yellow with a pungent earthy smell. Service is decent and the staff is generally friendly with the exception of the security guards by the elevators who look at everyone with suspicion. The best feature of the hotel is the swimming pool which clean and generally [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Travelling on my own...
I'm 26 and I travelled on my own here for a week at the end of April. Great resort, rooms are worn down if you don't boom a suite. The good was very good (I've been to Cuba 10+ times and this was definitely the best). Entertainment staff I didn't pay much attention too but the shows were well done. Get to the beach early for good spots! Overall I had a good time; the beach is beautiful, it's quiet and safe and relaxing (which is just what I was looking for). Older crowd (40+) and a few weddings [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort
Interesting week at Melia. Both my boyfriend and I got sick. Not sure of what cant blame the resort. Everyone was so friendly! Beach was nice so were the pools! Food was okay. We took the trip to Havana it was amazing. Probably shouldnt eat pork. Might of got sick because of it. But overall clean and nice resort!
Melia Buenavista: Small, quiet and beautiful
We loved this resort for its size and location. Beautiful views, everything is near and the grounds are well kept. Great snorkel just off the beach. We were on the pool side (the least expensive) and it was just like having our own pool by our patio. The food was OK but not great. Being an A la Carte resort (no buffets), the choices were limited and mealtime took much more time. The other negative point of this resort is the lack of vegetation. Hardly any trees, no shade except from the hard to [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort!!!!!
We loved this place..the grounds were so beautiful, the rooms were big and clean(we chose the Royal Service which you pay extra but well worth it)...the outdoor shower is amazing, the staff is courteous and accommodating and the food is good.
