Playa Vista Azul: Worst Resort Ever
This is the worst hotel and worst trip I've ever had. First off the hotel is not as clean and put together as the pictures would suggest, it is more of a 2-3 star in appearance, our lamp fell apart on us, the fridge in our room was broken, our screen door was broken and letting in bugs, just everything as falling apart. The hotel is not really beachfront, most of the rooms are facing the pool or have no view at all so this is not the place for you if you want a beach getaway. The service was [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Same great staff
The staff are great as always, in the 7 times i have visited i have always had great service. I do think it is time the hotel was updated, it was looking a bit beaten up. The furniture has had better days. The Spa section pool and bar area is well maintained, the rooms do need a make over.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Nothing but problems
Upon entering the property we had encountered issue after issue in which were not resolved in almost any matter and when they were supposedly taken care of we came to realize that we would just run into another issue. The property was not well maintained and found that broken glass that we spotted on major pathways on day 1 was still there in our last day. We choose this resort because of all the great reviews and I’m not sure what happened but not one of the reviews I read supported our exper [... read more]
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Not five star
Needs a bit of refurbishing Food is not that great Rooms are a bit tired an so is the lobby The beach is the best in this whole experience the pools are a bit dirty. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort, great beach and lots of nature!
What we really liked at Dhaka Cayo Santa Maria is a lot of greenery and flowers on the grounds, beautiful white sand on the beach, amazingly clear and warm water even in December. The room was also modern, clean, and comfortable. Cubans are very friendly people. We really enjoyed our stay in December-January 2022! There were no cases of COVID-19, so we could enjoy a normal life finally.
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: A Resort with a heart !!
Overall a great resort ! The grounds, food , restaurants, beach, and staff were fabulous!! We had a medical emergency (accident) while at the resort and the staff was exceptional !! Janet Bell from Customer Service went beyond to help us, the resort doctor and nurse so helpful and the overall staff so caring!
Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Would not go back!
The staff were lovely. The drinks were plentiful. The pool was big and clean. The beach is nice but very windy on this side of the island-we went across the street to use the other resort beach & it was calm. The food was beyond horrible! There was limited staff due to low occupancy so restaurants were very slow because they had to serve everything at buffet and specialty stations were not efficient. New Year was the big event for locals who were allowed to attend...food service for those [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Resort needs serious maintenance
The grounds were well kept and the employees do the best they can with what they have. I had a suite 605. The view was beautiful but that’s it. The sliding doors were extremely hard to slide open and you could not lock them. One of the screens were immovable. The curtains were dirty and had paint on them. Both our toilets did not work properly. I had to remove the lids and fiddle with the valve to get them to fill up again. The ac was leaking into the room. The ac in the bedroom barely [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Disappointed
We arrived at the hotel late at night.. nobody to direct us or help with our luggages.we received our room key and waited a long time for assistance or direction for our room but none available so we walked around the resort with our luggages in the very dark night with no clue where to go, being bitten by a storm of bugs. Once we finally found our room. It was very dirty. Toilet paper pasted on the bathroom wall beside the toilet. The sheets had blood on it and lots of sand. There was even [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Not the best experience
We arrived to the resort with zero guidance. After we received our room key we waited with no assistances or directions to get to our room. We roamed around the resort with our luggages in the dark getting bit by bugs non stop. Once we finally got in our room it was filthy. There was toilet paper on the wall, sheets were dirty and very dusty. Majority of the food items were unavailable and hot dogs was in mostly everything. The bugs were only awful the first night no complaints afterwards. A la [... read more]
Hotel Atlantico: The resort on my taste !
Fully satisfied of this resort on all lines: Beach, Pools, Services, Food and Rooms ! Special thanks for front desk ladies and chambermaid, also for Roberto (chief of restaurant/bar staff), Amauri and the lady from Oriente (at the bar next to the restaurant ) ! Security staff were very active giving us peace of mind ! I'll come back ASAP !
Melia Costa Rey: GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY
Beautiful modern hotel overlooking a real blue ocean. Resort has 5 a large carte restaurants and 1 buffet restaurant and 1 Snack Bar. Food was actually good for Cuba. Not bland but actually seasoned. No room service available. You get 2 Reservations for stays less than 7 days for a la carte restaurants that are pre-picked for you. For stays 7 days or more you get 3 Reservations. Hand sanitizer readily available but did not see staff wiping down door knobs or chairs. Entertainment was great! Po [... read more]
Iberostar Coral Holguin: Amazing Staff
We stayed at Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Holguin for two weeks in December. Everything was perfect. - The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with comfortable beds, a large bathroom, and very good AC. - The Coral restaurant serves great food, with a set menu, which for dinners includes fish, lobster, fillet, and chicken, served with very good wines. A great selection of drinks at the bar. - The Coral Level has a fairly large, very clean swimming pool with a bar. - But what set [... read more]
Playa Vista Azul: Great place
Top of the list is the people! The staff are amazing and friendly and it was a pleasure getting to chat with them. The beach- hands down one of the best! Rooms are kept clean but could use a little face lift. Nice short walking distance to all the amenities. Varadero and the Beatles bar are a must ( take the double decker bus for a 5$ Day pass). Entertainment was good - no theatre every night, but there was entertainment in the lobby or poolside at night. Don’t change CAD at the bank, staff wa [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Traveling at Christmas during COVID
Ok, check in is a disaster, wow. Rooms were good, no water in room or any beers as per usual, on if you paid the maid(side hussle) Lots of Cuban and Russian tourist which of both don’t understand the concept of lining up or courtesy of any sort which is said because Canadian are the only ones tipping. If you don’t travel often I won’t recommend It at this time, not for the faint of heart. Food was ok always out, or having to wait like 1 hour for a sandwich, pretty sad actually. The re [... read more]
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fantastic Stay
My partner and I had an amazing stay over the Christmas holidays, met lots of lovely people including tourists and staff. The staff in particular are extremely wonderful and kind! Things I would recommend: -Bring lots of bug spray. Keep your room door closed at all times, the gnats are too small to spot but you'll get bit a lot. -Bring more cash than you think you'll need. Canadian is great, American is good also. The only currency you can get while you're there is cuban, which is fine (not as [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Still an Amazing Resort
I love Varadero and I have stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul 5 to 6 times. It is clean, safe, beautifully landscaped, well maintained, very friendly, professional and hard working staff. I have tried staying at a few other resorts and they do not measure up to Iberostar Laguna Azul. We were there for Christmas 2021 and they went all out for our Christmas Eve dinner it was unbelievable! A 4 foot tree of lobsters, a sushi buffet, a seafood buffet, a pastry buffet, steak, turkey, chicken, fish e [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: My winter oasis
I cannot say enough about this beautiful place. I’ve now been 8 times and will be making it 9 shortly. The staff is so kind and thoughtful. The grounds are beautiful. The hotel is fantastic and the food is perfect Having the golf course a hop skip and a jump away definitely helps too. This year it was great to meet a few more coupes who have frequented this resort 23 and 40 times I believe that says enough. A big thanks to Wendy van zandwyk from trip central for her help again
Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Loved it!
It was a good family Resort with decent amenities. Beach and pool was superb. Food was ok. Front desk stuff was a bit rude. We really enjoyed the time with the entertainment team throughout the day with a lot of dance. However night concert was not so good. Also, we had to replace our door keys 3 times. It didn't work time to time. But overall we really enjoyed the time. Will go back again.
Starfish Jibacoa: Amazing relaxing resort
Great resort Mountain on one side Beach and Corel reef the other Bungalows steps from beach Loving and caring staff Amazing locals Great time to be had definitely going back once Covid settles down Bring and leave things for everyone lack of tourism had really hurt them and ask around for better exchange rates
