Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: BE LIVE COLLECTION "CANOA" HORRIBLE RESORT

THE BE LIVE COLLECTION "CANOA" RESORT IN LA ROMANA IS THE WORST RESORT WE HAVE EVER BEEN TO AND WE HAVE BEEN TO MANY MANY RESORTS. WE WERE THERE FROM JULY 24th TO JULY 31st, 2019. WHERE DO I BEGIN. THE AIR CONDITIONING IN OUR ""FIRST"" ROOM DID NOT WORK - IT WAS 28 DEGREES. WE ASKED TO BE MOVED, OUR SECOND ROOM WAS A ""LITTLE"" BETTER BUT STILL VERY WARM TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. THE TEMPERTURE IN THAT ROOM WAS 25.5 DEGREES AND NEVER BUDGED DEFINATELY NOT ACCEPTABLE, BUT WE STAYED IN THIS ROOM ANY [... read more]WAY BECAUSE EARLIER THAT DAY MY HUSBAND OVERHEARD PEOPLE AT THE POOL ALSO COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR A/C NOT WORKING. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY BIRDS AT THIS RESORT. THERE IS POOP ALL OVER THE GROUNDS FROM THESE BIRDS ESPECIALLY THE TURKEYS. ONE TURKEY TRIED TO PECK A GENTLEMAN THAT WAS ON MOBILE WHEELCHAIR AND SOME TURKEYS MADE THEIR WAY INTO THE BUFFET WHERE ONE GIRL WAS STARTLED AND KEPT WAVING THEM AWAY BUT THEY WOULD NOT LEAVE - THIS IS SO UNSANITARY - JUST GET RID OF ALL THESE BIRDS. AGAIN VERY UNSANITARY. THE SWIM UP BAR IS A COMPLETE JOKE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE THERE WHATSOEVER. THE BAR IS TWO SIDED, ONE PART BEING IN THE POOL (where there is no booze on that side of the bar???) AND THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS BAR IS BEING SERVED TO WALKERS BY. THERE WAS ALWAYS NO ONE ON THE POOL SIDE, LITERALLY PEOPLE WERE GETTING OUT OF THE POOL WALKING TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BAR TO ORDER THEIR DRINKS AND GETTING BACK IN THE POOL - SO WHY BOTHER HAVING A ""SWIM UP"" BAR. ALSO THE ""PIER BAR/RESTAURANT IS A ""PAY"" BAR/RESTAURANT - THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED AND IS NOT NOTED ANYWHERE. WE SAT AT THE VERY END OF THE PIER ONE EVENING OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN AND SOMEONE APPROACHED US TELLING US WE COULD NOT SIT THERE THAT THIS PIER WAS A PAY BAR/RESTAURANT. THE PLACE IS OLD. IT DEFINATELY NEEDS SOME MAJOR REFURBISHING. A LOT OF THINGS ARE CRACKED AND BROKEN. GOING TO THE BEACH FROM THE POOL AREA, THERE ARE SO MANY ROCKS STICKING OUT OF THE SAND THAT IF YOU DON'T WATCH IT YOU CAN STUB YOUR TOES BADLY. THE OCEAN IS GORGEOUS, BUT YOU CANNOT GO IN IT BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY JAGGED ROCKS AT THE BOTTOM OF IT THAT IF YOU HAVE NO BEACH SHOES YOU DEFINATELY SCRAPE YOUR FEET BADLY. THE FOOD IS DECENT, BUT COULD USE IMPROVEMENT. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE TO GO AT NIGHT IF IT RAINS AS THE ""PLAZA"" IS NOT COVERED. THE BUFFET IS OPEN AREA, SO SMALL BIRDS COME IN AND NESTLE ON THE INSIDE PEAKS OF THE THATCHED ROOF, SO ONE TIME WE WERE EATING THERE AND BIRD DROPPINGS LANDED ON OUR TABLE. SO VERY DISGUSTING. ALSO, IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PLATE ON YOUR TABLE WITH FOOD TO GO GET WHATEVER, BIRDS FLY IN AND PICK AT YOUR FOOD. SO YOU ARE EATING FOOD THAT BIRDS HAVE BEEN PICKING ON. I WOULD DEFINATELY NOT RETURN TO THIS RESORT OR RECOMMEND IT FOR THAT MATTER. EVEN THOUGH THE PRICE WE PAID WAS REASONABLE, WE STILL THINK WE PAID WAY TOO MUCH FOR WHAT THIS RESORT HAS TO OFFER. LIKE I SAID THIS RESORT NEEDS MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR RENOVATION. IF I WAS OWNERS OF THIS RESORT, I WOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO SELL THIS RESORT TO VACATIONERS. WISH WE HAD GONE SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Beautiful old girl.

This not my first stay at Caribe Club Princess(CCP). But CCP is due for renovations and unless I can make it down at Christmas it will be my last at least until the rebuild is done. I ll miss the parties in the great big pool. The sunrises on the beach. The 6 or 7 servers that know just how much milk I like in my coffee each morning before I am fit to talk to other humans, or that I like this much red wine. Or the ladies at the front desk that remember me each time. Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Overall a good time

Pros: - close access to the beach - friendly and happy staff - clean environment - hotel rooms were overall well kept - very nice gym facility - drinks and bar service was excellent - staff kindly decorated the hotel room for birthday, including balloons and a door banner Neutral: - food was just okay. Buffet was much better than a la carte dining options - beach was well kept by staff, constantly removing seaweed from shore but ocean water was inevitably infested with seaweed anyway [... read more]s also causing a slight fishy Odor to the overall beach area Cons: - extremely poor signage. Difficult to find your way around the resort. And you never know which restaurants are open or closed each night until you get there - jacuzzi pool in main pool area was filled with bugs - cleaning service kept forgetting to refill our toilet paper and towels. One of the days, forgot to clean our room entirely - a lot of solicitors on the beach trying to sell you things - half of the resort was reserved for “Preferred Club” members which pressures you into paying a premium to upgrade to get access to these services. ie: 1 out of the 2 main pools are reserved for preferred club members, seating areas at beach/restaurants, etc. Which was not advertised or warned of before booking this hotel. Also, the main eating area (the buffet) is outdoors and only preferred club members have access to the AC seating area.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort

We've been in Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana in July. We started with the "left foot" because we had to stay 2h at the reception desk(the room was not ready). After that was ok. The rooms are like in the pictures. We've been place between restaurant and beach, next to one pool. Even if you are far from one of them you have some mini car(mini train) that pass all the time so you do not have to walk if you don't like it.The resort was clean, a lot of palm trees. The food was very very good with s [... read more]o many options(you could easily put 3-4 kg after this cooking experience).The beach was very nice, a lot of seaweed but they were not disgusting ; my kid even enjoy playing with them. It was a nice hotel, we will return for sure.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Very nice and clean resort

Our second time in this resort, always have a great time here although it could use some updates resort is well maintained. Food is always good, staff are helpful and friendly beach is stunning except the seaweeds. Our favourite was the guy at the omelette station very funny and friendly loves to fist bump. Lobby needs more tables and chairs as we often had to stand and wait up for a spot to sit on. Overall had a great stay we will be back again for sure.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Wonderful place for vacation

It is all 5 star, nothing to complain. From beach to hotel room’s all are perfect. My wife and 3 kids have enjoyed the place a lot. Tons of activities from morning to evening. You won’t have time to get bored.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing resort

we stayed at Bahia Principe Esmeralda for 2 weeks in July. It is a very beautiful hotel, very clean, amazing food and very close to beach! I would highly recommend this hotel! The only con would be the seaweed in the sea, however staff cleans it regularly.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Very decent hotel. No complaints.

Well groomed and clean resort. About their help line for guest services, sometimes they don't answer the phone. Only people at the front desk speak english. Sometimes they say the creperie cannot make crespes and you have to come back later etc. the idea is to create some sort of minor confusion so you will tip them and get things done.

Excellence Punta Cana: Nice Resort

The facilities and staff were great. The food was disappointing and mediocre at best. Three restaurants open every night, which was fine since there weren't many people around. It's just that the food wasn't great. Perhaps our expectations were too high given they weren't buffets. We thought things could have been better.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing Trip

Grounds are well kept. Service is great (Could use minor adjustments but majority of the staff is great) For a large resort it is easy to get around, Buses do come often however a few hiccups later at night but its expected. The only complaint would be the TV channels however who really watches TV on vacation. It was only before bed when wanting to see a movie or show in english was not a lot of options. Would highly recommend to purchase the Gold package as it makes your trip much smoothe [... read more]r as well as less waited times at the customer service desk as you have your own lounge and service. Visited the other Resorts/Areas of this chain as they are beside each other. For children Fantasia is amazing, the entertainment there is one of the best. I will be returning especially to try out the children friendly area as its just as entertaining for the adults Also to trip central for looking for the best possible price, Jenn Black was AMAZING! She honestly cares for your vacation to be the best in every way.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good Resort

The resort was nice but was a little too big, we were located further away from the beach and had to take the tram which was at times inconvenient when you have small children. The food was great lots of options, the service was good most of the times the staff were great but there wasn't consistency in the service during the week we stayed. The room was nice and clean but was facing the theater which could be loud at night when we were trying to sleep.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Fantastic Resort

Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine and the entire Bahia Compound is absolutely great. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's one of the cleanest resort I've ever been to. The restaurants are great with different menus to accommodate everyone. We will definitely be going back to this resort again!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Excellent

Modern fun decor, laid back vibe Breakfast restaurant was excellent, beautifully presented mimosas, crepes, fresh fruit, great coffee. Frozen cocktails on the beach with fresh banana, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this resort

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: An Okay Vacation

Our experience at the Be Live Collection Punta Cana resort was good, however we encountered several issues along the way. Firstly, once we arrived at the resort and went to check out the ocean, we were very disappointed to see that the shore was surrounded by algae. The water was full of the same algae and it smelled very badly of rotten fish. Thankfully, it cleared up a little after a couple days, but for the first few days of our vacation it was almost impossible to stay on the each because of [... read more] the smell. Also, our room did not get properly cleaned everyday, sometimes not at all. We found ourselves not having any clean towels to take showers with so I had to go to reception and complain. On the other hand, the resort had very good entertainment and different activities happening at the beach and the pool everyday. We were also pleasantly surprised by the free wifi that was available all throughout the resort. In the end, we did enjoy pur vacation quite a bit but were disappointed by some aspects at the resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Resort was very beautiful and clean.

Dinning is good as well. I believe we choose wrong month for vacation as it was very hot there. Only 1 thing I felt missing is, Resort should have at least 1 indoor pool because you really can't enjoy pool service. They close pool at 7 PM and that is the time when sun goes down. For adults, it shouldn't close at all so that one can enjoy. The resort is very clean as our room was cleaned twice a day. Also, staff is very nice and polite. Would love to visit again this year.

Food was great , people were friendly. Had an amazing time Pool was clean beach was nice. Great service. Entertainment was fun. Helpful staff , overall we had a very good time and would do it again

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Wonderful vacation!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous week in July 2019 at the Melia Punta Cana in The Level adults only section. The resort is gorgeous, staff was very friendly, beach is beautiful with soft white sand, and the food was good. The yoga on the beach looking out over the ocean was fantastic. Ceybeth, the yoga instructor, is excellent! If you are looking for a great spot to unwind and enjoy some sun and sand - this is the place! Special thanks to Felicia from TripCentral.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Beautiful place

It’s not very luxurious but very beautiful surrounding. Food is not bad. Has so many choices. Staffs are friendly except the ones at the guess service desk. Rooms service is terrible. I asked for sugar, coffee and cream one time they brought only coffee after 4 hours. Then ordered again and never got them. Happened twice.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: 3 Star Property. Ok resort for the pricepoint.

Booked the upgrade (Privileged) and the room was clean, but small and there is no view. The ocean view rooms are reserved for Members. Housekeeping was great most days (and we always tip). Since we were there for two weeks, we ended up switching rooms. The concierge moved us to a honeymoon room further away from the noisy nightclub (music was still playing at 4:00am) and pool, taken over by a few busloads of partying students. The Privileged beach area and bar were quite nice. The staff is als [... read more]o very pleasant. On weekends it is overrun by locals. Tables and chairs are moved in for games, boomboxes play at a high volume competing with the music from the bars and the entertainment crew. The pool was large, but loungers are hard to find. We made due with chairs when moving from the beach to the pool late afternoon. The restaurants were good for an all inclusive. Didn't enjoy the Asian Restaurant. Although the food was ok, the teppanyaki chef was rude and his humour offensive. We were also not into having food thrown at us. Servers in all restaurants were friendly. The buffet was a disappointment, no variety, lukewarm food, sparse decoration. The small buffet by the pool was nice and staff was very friendly. The main area bar was nice and staff was awesome. The seaweed was a problem, but it was cleaned up throughout the day. The water is really shallow, not great for swimming or snorkeling. There are much better hotels and beaches in Punta Cana.
