Ocean Riviera Paradise: Friendly and accommodating staff,
Upon arrival late due to a delayed sunwing flight. The resort upgraded me for free to poolview rooftop hottub room. Supper clean, awesome staff, tip culture was not in your face like Cuba. Can’t write enough how much we enjoyed this place. Food amazing great selection at all. Kids love the bowling alley and batting cages. Wife loved the 30$Us massages on the beach. I would honestly go back.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Magnificent Resort
The resort is absolutely stunning. The entire property is breathtaking. The food in the buffet is the best! Cook to order lobster/seafood station OMG! No dinner buffet is a let down. A la carte for dinner is the only option. Didn’t like that. Language barrier with a lot of the staff. Always ci madame, even when they didn’t understand what I was asking. Resort is too HUGE for my liking and there is no food or bar service options on the beach. There is NO free wifi anywhere on the property unl[... read more]ess you’re staying in ocean view room or upgrade to prestige privileges. Otherwise wifi is $12 US per day for 2 devices. For free wifi you have to take hotel bus to specified mall location to access wifi from 10am-5:30pm. There is no dancing option on property. Dj in lobby lounge plays only techno/house music as conversation background music for lounging. We asked for dance music and to turn up music so we could dance and security advised DJ to turn music down. Dj advised he can only play what and how upper management dictates.

Park Royal Beach Huatulco: Wonderful Resort
This was our third time at Park Royal, Huatulco. The resort was great value. Very good food, excellent service and spacious, clean suites with huge balconies. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the shuttle to the beach. Our only suggestion would be to have more lounge chairs at the beach and pools.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Would do it again!
This was our second stay at the Iberostar ParaÃso del Mar, And once again, it exceeded our expectations. The food has so much variety and is always delicious, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Service is also amazing. The only negative thing we noticed this time versus the first time, was there were less drink servers around the pool. But a little walking never hurt anyone and it isn’t a reason to complain. Absolutely one of our favourite places to be and reconnect.

Grand Riviera Princess: This resort is a hidden gem!
My wife Tina and I went for a 1 week all-inclusive trip to the Grand Rivera Princess in Mayan Rivera, Mexico from January 14 -21, 2020. Upon arriving the greetings and service by the bellhop personal made a good first impression. Then to our surprise, once we entered into the lobby the view was spectacular! Looking down from the second-floor lobby down the beautiful staircase and past the large water fountain and onto the first floor we saw walls of high palm trees as far as the eyes could see o[... read more]n either side of the curved large walkway that led into the resort. From the lobby to the beach and by every room there were plenty of plants, flowers and trees to look at and ease your mind and wash the stress away.
After checking into our room which had a hot tub and view of the garden and a king-size bed, we had all the accommodations one could expect in a 4/5 star resort. The tv had plenty of English and Spanish channels, even sports channels from the US and movie channels. The A/C was perfect and the internet worked ok.
There were plenty of water features to use from the main actively pool to other less-used pools for those who were seeking a more quiet time. The beach showed off its beauty with gorgeous tall palm trees and plenty of white sand with rowing waves to play in. Of course for those in need of elevators, there are 6 on the resort, including a medical center if needed.
The food had such variety and was fresh and the chefs worked so hard trying to make every dish special, we felted they really cared about us and we could sense their love of cooking! The Ala Cart restaurants were plentiful and delightful from Asain to french to Italian even good old American Beef and of course Mexican. There were more than we could choose in a week! The thing we also enjoyed was the food was served at these places hot, something you do not always get at other places we have been around the world. The beer and drinks by the pool and at the restaurants were cool and tasted refreshing! The only thing they need to improve on as most other all-inclusive resorts do is the wine, it was too watered down. It also most forced us to purchase a bottle.
For the sports enthusiast, volleyball was served up each day at the beach and water polo most days although it seemed the activity directors did not want to promote it very much. They did encourage pool exercise though and apparently they also offer a water volley activity, however, the net was broke and no one seemed to excited about fixing it to accommodate the many requests they had to fix it. There is also an excellent sports bar on-site that showed many different NHL hockey games at the same time such as the Toronto Maple Leaf game as well as the Montreal Canadian games and this was important as many Canadians were on the resort during our week of stay. Yes, we were able to watch the NFL playoff matches well palying pool on one of the 3 pool tables all in a nicely A/C bar!
As for entertainment, there were great and poor shows. They had a grease show that was very well done, however a few of the other shows were so so, as the performers only danced and lip-synced to the words of the music. However, they did put their hearts into their work. Now in other parts of the resorts at times on different nights, they gave a second option for everyone to choose from. There was a man and woman duet that played twice that week and they were awesome, we could have listened to them many times! Then on Saturday evening, they had a rock band who no doubt was encouraged to keep the volume at a respectful level well playing and brought the audience to the dance floor and spectators to their feet. The only drawback of these performances was they only played for an hour and a half, not long enough. Of course, there was Latin music as well. And although we never visited the disco it always seems full passing by it. I personally think they need more rock and top 40 music played. one disappointment was there was no karaoke bar! As for the music by the pool, they had a DJ playing it and I have to admit at times it was very monotonous, as the same latin or music with the cursing and swearing in it and children all around the pool. It would be nice to have the rock in roll music, top 40 music as well as eighties retro music as well being played.
For the most part, the staff offered excellent service from the waiters to the cooks to room service and also the maids and bartenders. They were friendly, polite and hardworking! The one area of improvement I would suggest is the DJ music selection and the activity personal for the pool sports, which is to have people who enjoy sports take the lead in these activities as Canadians enjoy sports. For example, while 20 of us were playing water polo with the activity personal, after a half an hour of it, the activity personal blew his whistle and said that we could not play any longer because a half an hour is up and even after much protest by those playing he took the ball and left. Fortunately one of the vacationers had brought a ball and we were able to continue playing. I personally feel they need more training as to the kind of sports and games to cater to their guests.
The cleanliness of the resort was outstanding! From the guest rooms to the public bathrooms to the pools and dishes and also even the untensils used during meals, everything was clean! We did not see any garbage or litter on the walkways or pool area or beach, and this is a positive feature of the resort! even all the windows and balcony glass were cleaned regularly and looked great! This helped us feel good about the condition of the kitchen and how the staff kept the food and dishes, etc clean in order to help reduce food poisoning, etc.
To get from one end of the resort to the other end they had plenty of golf carts and drivers who are very careful in driving. They also had times posted on the bulletin boards so we knew their arrival times and departure times.
Tina and I have been to many all-inclusive resorts and other hotels around the world and this resort is one we would visit again and not hesitate to recommend others to visit with or without children!
Lastly, I must mention the excellent service we receive from Vitoria, we will definitely book through her again and recommend others to use her as she was professional, punctual and patient answering and solving my many questions and concerns!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing resort
The amenities were amazing. They had a ton of activities for my very busy boys, we loved the beach. It was wavy enough to be fun, but not dangerous. They had basketball, water and beach volleyball, shuffleboard, lawn bowling, a lane pool and a small water park. Great fun. The beach volleyball court was often being used and perhaps they could add a second court for a resort of its size. Food was good with many options and we could find food any time of the day, The rooms were nice but could use [... read more]more storage, as we only had 3 drawers for 4 people. It would have been nice to have more space to settle in. The couch was made up as a bed which was great for my son to sleep on.

Occidental Tucancun: Excellent resort
The resort was great! I loved that the beach was so close and right in front of you. The staff are amazing and the food was good. The night shows were great and enjoyed them very much. The bartenders worked so hard to please everyone and did it smiling. Antonio and Lorenzo were great!!! The check in is very very slow and the check out is also slow. That's my only complaint. Everything else was excellent! Very clean and happy place.

This hotel was very well kept! The staff worked hard all day and evening. We were always greeted with a smile and great service. This resort is quite big so you can except a lot of walking depending on your room location.

Crown Paradise Club: Second Time around
This was our second time at this resort. Food was MUCH better this time around I would have to say. But one thing we really missed was the lady walking around with the hawk to scare all the pigeons and blackbirds away from the food tables.
Weather was fantastic, as usual, the vendors walk by but all you have to say is "no gracious" and they left you alone. Beach chairs were easy to find every morning or pool loungers. LOTS of entertainment, and if you have kids they won't leave the kids pool!
[... read more]We stayed at the adult pool side.
It is rated 4 stars and I would say it's a SOLID 4 stars!

Allegro Cozumel: Good value
First of all: I do recommend this resort
It's not a deluxe resort, but offers beautiful grounds, it's very clean, the beach is great. The rooms are small and walls are thin ,but they have all amenities.
Food has reasonable variety. They really need to work at keeping the food warmer though. Lots of great fish, and fresh salad makings. Fruit available every meal. They don't water down drinks, but they do "fill" their own premium liquor bottles. Still pretty good though.
Staff over all is v[... read more]ery friendly. Service on the beach is pretty spotty, but it never hurts to walk to the bar.
If you're looking for top notch exciting entertainment, probably not for you BUT it's good family entertainment.
WIFI: You can get it free if you book Premium. However, it's still only available in certain areas. It seemed to work within the Premium room units area. If you are not Premium, you will have to pay up to $45 US for the week.
Premium status: Includes a premium lounge where you can serve your own mixed drinks, wine and beer. It also has continental breakfast and simple lunches.
If you HATE CROWDS this is a good thing for you as it's more secluded and quiet. You also have your own pool and beach area which is generally quieter
One of the Managers Rodrigo was very helpful in dealing with some minor issues when the original manager/rep at the Premium lounge was barely ever seen and didn't show up when several Premium guests needed him.
The best restaurant was the Oriental. We also enjoyed the Mexican.
Adorable little Mexican version of raccoons running around. They don't bother anyone and are good little cleaners for dropped food.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Wonderful Vacation in Riviere Maya !
Booking through Tripcentral was great. Flying with Sunwing was terrible. We will try to avoid flying with them for future trips. Old jets, always late and you have to pay for everything onboard (not even a free soft drink).
Resort is beautiful, well maintained, great staff and good food. Great place to take children. We didn't have children with us but many tourists told us the children's activities and amenities were wonderful.
At first, we were disappointed with the beach because th[... read more]ere are rocks but we soon learned to appreciate this. There is plenty of beach to walk on nice sand as Barcelo has 6 resorts in a row. Staying at the Maya Caribe, we had access to 4 of the 6 resorts. This was nice since we were staying 2 weeks. The problem is if you want to go in the water. Waves stir up the sand making it impossible to see where you step. One step could be on sand while the next could be a rock. For this reason, WATER SHOES ARE A MUST. That being said, don't let this deter you from going. Because there are rocky areas, this brings sea life and birds making our walks fun and exciting. Furthermore, we discovered that at the Maya Palace, there are wild sea turtles that come swim with you looking for treats. They are so use to tourists that we could actually pet them. A real treat for us to see these beautiful animals up close.
Never had trouble getting a lounge chair at the beach no matter what time we got there.
You do have to reserve for a la carte restaurants and they get booked fast therefore you have to go on your first day to make your reservations for your entire vacation. We found this to be inconvenient.
A short 10 minute walk from the lobby, cross the highway and you will find many cenotes that you can visit and swim in. We paid $10 US per person. It's worth the experience if you've never seen this. It's like swimming in an aquarium. Bring snorkeling gear if you have some. They provide life jackets if you need one.
If the winds are not too strong, there is decent snorkeling near the resorts (mostly at the Palace). I did see a huge sting ray swim by me 10 feet away. There are some corals in some areas if you go out far enough. You need to get away from sandy areas if you want better visibility. Bring your snorkeling gear.
Some people consider this resort to be too big. We did not feel this way. Unless you have mobility issues or small children, you can walk everywhere. They do have busses that run from one hotel to the other if you want. Walking from the room to lobby or room to beach is not an issue. Walking from the most southerly hotel to the most northerly of the 6 hotels would probably take 20 minutes for an average person.
We had a great vacation.
