The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Scenic location

Loved the lush, tropical landscape and the scenic views. It was great having our room face the bay and to hear the waves on the shore. The amount of stairs did get tiresome after a while, but thankful the trolleys were frequent and accessible.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Mixed feelings.

The Sian Ka'an Resort in Maya Riviera was touted as a "5 Star" resort but came up short on several occasions. The food at the daily buffet was good and diverse, the pool side buffet had fewer offerings but still did a good job. The grounds provided privacy for our room balcony and our close location to the main gathering area was appreciated. And although you had privileges at other close by resorts there were never enough lounge chairs. Our resort location made you rely on their shuttle service [... read more] to get you to and from the beach...and many a times we had to "shag" (while waving money at them) for a ride back to our resort...."too far" was always their excuse not to take us. The nightly entertainment was very good.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Every day is an exercise in patience

Nice looking resort but try to get a dinner reservation before 9:00 pm. Every trip to the reservation desk requires an hour of your time. Lobby bar closes at 10:30 even on New Years Eve regardless of the fact it is packed and guest's are enjoying themselves. Golf is not free, $100 for cart. My wife does not play and they charged $45 just for her to ride along. Private beech requires a long shuttle ride only to find out you cannot go in water because it is full of sea weed, and I mean full. The leave the towel on a chair at 6 am game was in full effect. Concerns about these issues were taken up with our Air Transat representative and WERE NOT RELAYED TO THE HOTEL....absolutely butch ! Nice rooms, but they take your money and trow you to the wolves on your own. Bring a lot of tip money (and I mean a lot) because without it no concerns get addressed.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: great place to chill with family

the hotel was great! clean and people were very freindly And the food was excellent ... I travelled with a picky teenager who just loved everything The entertainmenet aws very professional . The beach was well organized and the lounging areas were great .We had a great time .

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful Week!!

Just got back from a wonderful week away! My husband and I went with our two daughters, their boyfriends and my Mother. A good time was had by all! There was definitely something for everyone on our diverse group. We were at the resort for New Years Eve and they went all out-- one of the best New Years I've had to date!! Another day the whole group went out on the catamaran excursion and had such a great time. It was nice to get out on the water and see enjoy the beautiful scenery! The rooms were fantastic and the hardworking staff was friendly and always willing to help in any way.We enjoyed the buffet as well as the restaurants on site. Overall, I would highly recommend! A beautiful, very clean resort. Great staff, great food. Lots to do even if what you choose to do is nothing at all! There are many quiet sections on the beach for total peace and relaxation as well as quiet pools. Thank you for a fabulous time. Look forward to returning!!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Nice Resort

The Hotel itself is very nice, we booked an oceanview room and could see a bit of the ocean but the view was obstructed by large palm trees. The beach was a little small for those who like to walk along the beach. My partner slipped on the stairs one morning and spent two days in a wheelchair due to a sprained ankle, no one in the hotel even called to see how she was doing. Check in was very slow to wait in the line to book dinner reservations. We signed up to go to the 'time share' talk as we w [... read more]anted to get points for the salesgirls who work so hard but were told it would be 90 minutes, however, it was 3 hrs as they take you to breakfast which was annoying because it was in the regular buffet restaurant and we could have gone to the presentation after breakfast and we would have been done in 90 minutes. The pool is beautiful, very big and spreadout, however, if you do not get up before 8 to place a towel on your beachchair you will be out of luck. This is the most annoying part of these resorts, people hog the chairs by the pool and the beach and then never show up so the chair sits empty most of the day. There should be a better way to enforce the none reserving of chairs. The food was ok, nothing special for new years, the lobster was overcooked and tasteless, we didn't even finish our lobster tail, it was mushy. We were in one of the smaller restaurants, however, we heard the large buffett room had a nicer spread and there was some entertainment during dinner. One of the nicest looking resorts we have been to but the service and food were the same as many others. However, it was Jamaica and you have allow for Jamaican time I guess. Overall a good vacation.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Fabulous Holiday!!!

My wife and I spent 7 perfect days at this resort. We loved the grounds, the beach, the pools, the service and the food was top shelf !!! We are already planning our trip for the same time next year.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great Family Resort

Tropical gardens with lush foliage, rooms are spacious and clean, buffet has many options for adults and kids alike. The beach area is a little tight for space, so if you are looking for peace and quiet without children, book an adults-only resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent Stay!

We arrived on time, but had to wait for other passengers before the bus could leave from the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, there was not much of a line up for check in. Got checked in in few minutes(upgraded with a VIP upgrade b/c of repeat booking with Bahia.) All the amnesties were excellent @ Coba. Food was excellent, but would be nice to see different varieties on different days. La Carte restaurants were really nice. Many to choose from! Kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the kids [... read more] water park area. The resort area is really huge! There is no issues catching a ride in the golf cart to cruise around the resorts. Akumal is the closes to the beach, but we had no issues catching a ride to the beach any time we wanted. Overall, excellent and memorable trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort!

The Grand Bahia Principe Coba is a very large and beautiful resort. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were extremely hardworking and friendly. They were always busy cleaning and assisting the guests. The resort was at full capacity when we were there, and a crib was not available for our grandson until the third day. That is really the only complaint we have.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Vacation!

My son and I had very nice stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum, wanted to be close to beach. Our room was a little dated but kept very clean and fridge stocked daily. The grounds were beautiful and enjoyed the beach most days, did have to get chairs before 10 am thou. The staff were very friendly. We ate all of our meals at buffet, as my son is very big eater, we were never disappointed, but we're not expecting any more. The shows we attended were ok, have seen much better. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: amazing resort

Resort was beautiful. Food was delicious. People were amazing. Unfortunately my daughter was seriously hurt on the resort and the hotel did nothing! I feel they should have been concerned and compensated us in some way for the two nights we lost in hospital.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Good Resort - Good Value For the Money

We visited Dec 12-19 2014 - stayed at Esmerelda (2 adults 2 teenagers) What we liked: - grounds well kept up(garden & landscaping beautiful, staff attentive to making sure any litter was immediately picked up, easy to get around the resort either on foot or via mini-shuttles) - rooms were spacious, bathrooms modern, bed and sitting areas nicely appointed - lobby at Esmerelda is open, airy, access to wifi for your teenagers, and lots of cafe, drink space inside and outside - restaurants had good  [... read more]to better than normal down south food, would say much better food quality than in mexico or cuba, but don't expect 5 star New York, LA, Toronto food you are down south remember :) - beach and water were nice, Esmerelda has a specific section which makes getting a spot easier (yes you need to get there early on those sunny days) - plenty of room for quite a few people, so you may not get first row, but plenty of space at the beach; drink service at the beach was very good - tip or no tips, sand was soft and clean - daytime lunch spot near the beach was perfect/ideal for moving between beach and snacks/meals - pools were ok - 2 open to all ages, 1 soaker pool for adults only, fewer spots here, so you need to get there early, (a few more loungers would help solve that problem, but understand a few less loungers means less clutter and less people right on top of you) - service was generally good to above average, servers were around regularly offering drinks, liquors, snacks, coffee, attentive and pleasant, again i noticed no difference whether i tipped or not What we didn't like: - booking restaurants, we tried first day, and 1st choices were either booked and 2nd choices were very late sitting (20:45 or 21:00) - almost felt like you needed to "work$" the system to get prime booking, reminded me of getting concert tickets - where everything is mysteriously sold out unless you know someone - need a better system in place for this In summary - good to very good resort, alot of Canucks, Latin Americans & Europeans made for a friendly atmosphere and good time.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: NOT SURE WHY THERE ARE NEGATIVE REVIEWS

We stayed at the Bahia Principe Ambar from December 12th to the 19th. From reading the reviews prior to my trip I was expecting some possible negative situations however was prepared to deal with them in a rational manner. Bottom Line was this resort is wonderful. The staff is wonderful. Sure the majority of them do not speak English but what do you expect; you're in their country so learn a little Spanish. We found the food to be 910. We found that as long as we smiled at any of the staff they smiled back and were friendly to deal with. The sand and beach are wonderful. We had a few days where the sea-weed blowing in off the ocean was bad. That is mother nature folks so get used to that part. They did do a great job to remove it as best they could. Service on the beach was good. We prefer to go get our own drinks and see the bartenders. Everything worked well in our room and the room was cleaned everyday on time. If we needed something we just went out in the hallway and asked any of the maids for it and we got it. This is a wonderful resort. The average age was around 44 in our opinion. The swimming pools are nice but we are beach people. We used the pools for about 1 hour per day and the rest of the time was at the beach. The resort is quite large and we used the shuttle buses all the time. We never waited more than 3 minutes to catch a bus and drive to where we wanted to go. We do not mind walking around either and the most it took us from the beach to the Ambar was about 6 minutes. We took in some of the shows as well. The Michael Jackson show is really good. As well we liked the disco night where they played great music from the 70's, 80's and 90's. The booze was great. They have a wide choice and if you go to the bars yourself they will make your drinks as strong as you like. In my opinion the people that are writing negative reviews are just plan spoiled people. If they want 5+ everything then book a resort that charges you $4,000 or more a week. This hotel was great value for what we paid which was $2,900.00 for two people.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal review

Mine & my familys stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal was amazing. This vacation was the true definition of Paradise. Unfortunately, there was an accident that occurred on the resort with one of the vehicles that pick up & drop off passengers. I spent 2 nights in the hospital recovering from a sprained ankle & surgery on my wrist. This one specific vehicle was going quite fast & in my opinion too fast for the walkways that people & children still walk along! Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Christmas Fun in the Sun

7 days of pampering and lounging by the 4 pools and wading into the warm ocean water. Grand Bahia very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our newly renovated family suite was perfect for our family. The suite is two regular rooms with an archway through them. Two of everything! 2 showers! 2 balconies, 2 TV's. The grounds were very well maintained. Food was good and plentiful. Special effort was made over the holidays. We wanted quiet and and had no issues finding chairs and natural shade at other pools that were close to the beach. The beach was darker sand and had plenty of interesting shells and coral to discover. Some issues though: bites from sand flies. (Take benadryl). Water not potable. (bottle water was issued daily). Toilet paper not to be flushed. It took 1 hour 15 minutes to get to the resort from the airport. Quite the eye opener as to how the Dominicans live. You are not in Canada anymore. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Excellent Service

Stayed for a week over Christmas. The grounds are meticulously kept but are large and meandering to say the least. The resort is beautiful and the service was excellent. Food was plentiful and good quality. A few bugs at night but nothing a little bug spray can't handle. Beach was pretty well unusable because of seaweed but I think that is just due to the time of year. All in all a good place to go.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: 10+

A little bit of paradise at this resort..only one drawback was the food of course but it was always fresh, nice touch in the buffet was leg of lamb, roast turkey or roast of beef during the week. Always fresh fruit, salads, vegetables..terrific assortment.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Quiet

The grounds are amazing, very well taken of. If you stay at this resort you can use the amenities at the other resorts. If you are there to party, this place is not for you. Very quiet, not much happening but again you can visit the other hotels. The food was the best I've had at an all inclusive. Amazing. I didn't do the al la cartes as I found everything at the buffet. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great vacation!!

Nice hotel,great service,,,,and yes the food was excellent. Our family trip with 2 kids (10&7 yrs old). Plenty of activities on the resort for all ages. Only complaint was for mother nature,a lot of sea weed in the ocean and on the beach.the staff did a good job of cleaning every day,just the time of year.
