Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing staff

We were here with a group of girls at the end of November. I have to say the staff were amazing from the entertainment to the staff in the restaurants. Our room was renovated and very clean. We had an issue with our toilet and they kept sending someone until it was fixed. The food and the restaurants I found were really good. I have issues with certain foods and they made sure all my needs were met. They are renovating right now so we were diverted to differently areas for walking but once we g [... read more]ot used to it we were fine. The smell from the epoxy paint was very strong at times and gave me a headache a couple times but can't be helped when renovating. The beach was washed up so we had to go over and swim at the Royale next store. If you love to swim in the ocean and not walk far to do it this is not the place for you. However if you love the pool there was always something going on there and they did their best to keep everyone entertained. Would love to see the hotel when renovations are done. Thanks to staff for making us feel so welcome.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great Resort

Clean resort, good food and activities for most ages. Service was good. Pharmacy never had basic things we needed and ordering over the counter meds from next town was very pricey. Was concerned about too much algae at the beach based in reviews. This was not an issue for us in mid-December.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great family vacation

We had a wonderful time with our family of 5. Our children are young adults and enjoyed the resort as much as we did. There were many activities for them and the food was excellent, many choices at the buffet, so it never got boring. Only improvement suggestions: Better labeling of the food, so you know what you are eating/ wish to try. And please get some real butter, not ultra pasteurized. My husband was very late for dinner that day, and was not accommodated by the restaurant. It was a little disappointing, because the restaurants very never packed. It would not have taken much to fry up a steak. So he had to eat appetizers and dessert. We have nothing to compare our stay to, because this was our first time in Mexico and our first time at a resort. Rooms were clean and comfortable, grounds were kept meticulously and had some native wildlife, which was quite magical. Did not see any bugs the whole week.I loved the open air concept of the lobby, and restaurants, and it was always comfortable, never needed a sweater. I am not sure how hot it would get in the summer, though. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed it every day. I loved that there was shade provided at the beach. It was sometimes hard to get a chair, because people reserve chairs for the whole day, which is not allowed. The hotel could do a better job encouraging people not to be chair hoggers. The pool was big and kids enjoyed it, but extremely slippery tiles around the pool, and everywhere (if the floors get wet through rain). The whole resort seemed a bit big, but my kids said that way there were more people to get activities going. One thing I did not enjoy was the pushy way time share meetings were marketed to us right away, before we even got our room. Scrap that! I can do without that as a welcome! The shopping centre is for the most part totally overpriced. No idea who goes shopping there, but I guess if you forgot something it is handy to have. It is a nice place to have coffee or enjoy a taco, and see the Mayan cultural performance. We had to visit the clinic twice and got good service both times. Overall we had an amazing time and would love to go back!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Loved it!!!

The hotel was beautiful the people friendly and the food delicious the beach also wonderful. I'm so so so impressed. There is always food available and of course drinks made to order. Our favorite eating area was actually the Mariachi Grill.. The staff there were the nicest at the whole resort! Look for Onisome, he is the manager and an amazing person. I extremely recommend this fantastic place!!!

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Fantastic Resort

We just returned from our third visit at the CRT and it will not be our last. In fact we are hoping to return with our adult children in February. We stayed on the second floor of block 6 which was closest to the beach and it was great. The staff, food, beach and atmosphere are all wonderful. On another note,please watch out for the Exclusive Traveler Club. They will try very hard to sell you a package. It is not worth it. We purchased the cheapest option for $1599 US which lasts for 2 years. Th [... read more]ey promised $100 a night where in fact it is $165 US a night plus airfare. Going with Tripcentral was much cheaper even without considering the $1599 fee.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Iberostar Lindo - Great Resort

Iberostar Lindo is an excellent resort. Grounds are well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful, a choice of pools, entertainment and restaurants. Management and staff go out of their way to ensure guests have an excellent vacation. This was our 6th trip to the Lindo and will likely go again. Our only complaint was the return shuttle from the hotel to Cancun airport was organized by Sunquest. The shuttle van was too small for the number of people being transported and I felt the travel [... read more] conditions were not safe. Other than this one small drawback the holiday was perfect.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Barcelo Colonial reseort

We were at the Colonial the week before Christmass 2017. The Barcelo is a superb resort. It is excelent except for the rooms that were allocated to us. We are grandparent accompanying a family. We were given two connected rooms on the ground floor. These rooms were so humid that they were smelling mold. Not acceptable, especially for a baby and young children. We made several requests to be reallocated to the second or third floor and we were told that no other two connected rooms were avail [... read more]able.

Grand Sunset Princess: True 4 star

The room was excellent...clean, dry and cold. Rooms cleaning staff were excellent. Food was good...not amazing, but enough selections to a find a nice plate. Deserts were plentiful with good selection. Swim out suite was great...but the sun only hit that side of the building for half the day....so spend the am there, and move to the main pools or the beach. Loved that they controlled the lines and sent people who cut lines to the back...not sure hot they kept track of that while making drinks...impressive. If you love the ocean, this is not the greatest spot...rocky just inside the water. Bring water shoes ! Overall we have found better in the area, but this was solid for sure.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Amazing Resort

We were very impressed with the resort. It was very clean & well maintained. The grounds were beautiful & the beaches clean. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We are considering returning to the same location.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Fantastic time

Resort is big but luckily there are trollies to get you around. Beautifully kept grounds lots of palm trees and flowers and wild life around. Great workers very friendly. Beach is beautiful we set up camp there everyday. Nice long walks on the beach lots of sea shells to find and coral

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

Stayed at ocean coral and turquesa for a week and it was wonderful. the rooms are great and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the pillows are insane! would have taken them home if i could have. the beach is beautiful with white sand, and service on the beach! the swim up bar is great and speedy, and all of the restaurants were amazing. would recommend to anyone going!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

Very good family resort. Every details were taken care of for adults as well kids. Smiling and welcoming staff workers who make you feel home. We were able to spent some quality couple time as well family time.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great place for the families.

We went to Sandos Caracol with our family of 4. Two kids of twelve and wife and I. Upon being greeted in the lobby, we checked easily and were offered by one of their staff to sit down to be explained a few things about the hotel. They did explained a few details about the restaurants and other info, but also tried getting us to go for a sales pitch breakfast with them to try to sell us some kind of timeshare for their hotel. Once we knew to mind own business and avoid these salesman... We loved the place. Food was great, the Intl buffet had lots of great food to choose from. The Italian buffet was also fantastic, especially for breakfast. The a la carte restaurant were very good, especially the Riviera. We booked our tours with our travel operating company (BD) and were very satisfied, even after a miscommunication error where they disn't tell us of a surtax on a park. They decided to give it to us complementary for the troubles they may have caused. BD were very attentive to our needs and tried to accomodate us as much as possible. Waterpark was great. Main pool was a bit small but also very good. My kids loved playing volleyball. Our room was clean but nothing fancy. We had to ask a few times for extra towels. No animals made of towels. Beds were clean, confortable and room kept clean. Beach was very nice, but too many rocks as you go into the water. Bring water shoes. Overall, a very successful trip. I would recommend the hotel to any family.

From the flight with Air Transat to and from was on time and we had the Option Plus , so we had something to eat , wine and chocolate bar and blanket ,neck rest and special line to check in and extra baggage allowed. Quick friendly check in The Barceló Colonial Jalisco Bldg. Are room was close to the beach. Great maid service and fridge replacement service 5 * Cleanliness on Resort 5* Buffet at Colonial 4* Buffet in evening at Caribe and Maya Beach are new and enclosed now with  [... read more]A/C 5* appearance( but food 3.5 * ) food cold on 2 occasions and overcrowded because they shut down half of the area. We stayed 2 weeks had Distinctive Group and had 10 A La Carts. Atmosphere compared to anyplace where we live is a 5*. Maybe we were lucky but I enjoyed every A La Carte. We had to cancel dessert on 2 occasions because I was so full. Very nice updates We went to Barceló Palace Supper Buffet . Food was better than the other buffets. Beach is one of the best in the area on Maya beach side. They are trying to cater to people. They had pool side service and sometimes beach service for drinks. Entertainment on Colonial section is hit and miss Great, M. Jackson Show and Circus , Fantasia Show.Maybe they could have some daytime entertainment . They have extra things to do at an extra charge, bowling, surf rider,casino, premium alcohol. But its there if you want it , we did not this time , Maybe next time. I think the Barceló continues to keep up with the consumers demands., you get what you pay for . Overall a 5* experience . We came home a little spoilt and heavier. A Great Vacation!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Fantastic resort

Grounds well maintained. All the staff where very friendly and gave excellent service. Exceptional rooms and room service done wonderfully. My third time at this resort and it keeps getting better. Will be returning next year.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fabulous stay ...again!

My husband and I just returned from 7 days in paradise. It hurt our hearts to leave! Fabulous service, fabulous food, drink and beach. This hotel does not disappoint! The only fault I would mention is that rooms are beginning to show their age, but that's minor compared to the overall experience

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing time at Ocean Riviera Paradise -Privilege

Resort was wonderful! Privilege was worth every penny. Our butler,Ariz, took amazing care of us. We highly recommend the resort and the upgrade to privilege. Beautiful beach, beautiful resort and awesome service.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: 4 star resort

GOOD: Good rooms, clean resort, good transportation within the resort, no annoing beach sellers, no annoing time share sellers. Big resort, feels safe, good green grounds. Plenty of beach umbrellas, adults only zones, some very secluded areas on the beach for quiet sleep. BAD: Food is just ok: always something to eat, but poor selection of meat, fish and cheese (no beef, pork is always dry, fried chicken, fish was often absent or offered in 1-2 cheap choices like tilapia, only 2 to 4 kinds of [... read more] basic cheese). Restaurants offer less veriety then 5star should, and tasted so so. Brazilian restaurant was a joke - food and service - both crap. Beach is long (~3km) and mostly clean - great for walking, but swimming is poor - just 3-4 areas where you can actually enter without breaking a leg and only 1 small area where adults could swim without touching the rocks. 1 area is great for kids up to 10y.o. (its about 50m x 50m and only 1m deep, so kids can learn to swim there safely). No snorkelling anywhere. Minimum 1.5hr drive from the airport. VERDICT For $1,300 CAD per person in low season it does not worth it. If you are a foody or a swimmer - look elsewhere. Otherwise you are ok here. Note on the same shore: Sirenis offers better food and better swim for less money; Barcello offers much better food and much better swim, similar rooms and resort amenities for the same money. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Resort!!

Beautiful brand new resort with lots to do for everyone! Food was amazing and there were tonnes of options... Seems like a really great resort for families as well since there are lots for kids and adults to do. Wasn't a big fan of always trying to up sell on better liquor or wine at the restaurants, but I suppose that is how they make more money. I also thought that the spa was overpriced for what it is (the massages on the beach were much better). Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Wonderful Experience!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service. Beautiful beaches and pools with drink services to each. Getting into restaurants for dinner was quite the wait but worth it once you’re in! Nightly entertainment was okay, some nights better than others.
