Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: great vacation

The food was great, lots of choices but could have been heated up a little more, some days it was cold. The grounds beautiful and clean. Fridge restock everyday, room clean on time. Wonderful staff! Keep up the good work! It does make a difference.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: beautiful beach

Our stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro was over all good.... The food and al a cartes were all good. I booked the al a cartes at home but didn't get confirmation till at the hotel...The Japanese was very good. The Tex mex was very good. As for the Gourmet was slow and 2 couples left but we decided to stay and the meal ended up being worth it.. The dining service was excellent. I sent my request for our third floor room and did receive my request. Our maid service was excellent. Although the [... read more] front desk has some hick ups and were to lazy to check to see if we were returning customers from Ambar and after sending many family and friends there over the years was disappointing. This hotel is very large and manages the customers pretty good. Because it is so large could account for 2 of the rudest service people we have experienced over the years. The front desk and the towel return. Yet we would not let that spoil our time there. We started traveling to Dominican Republic 20 years ago and return at least once a year and love what the Bahia hotels have to offer.... The hotel does a great job on food, clean buffet, has clean rooms, clean pools, and a beautiful beach. Plenty of beach towels and lawn beds. The bar service was excellent. Over all the people in the hotel work very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I just wish they would make it easier to get larger bills exchanged to smaller bills so the people serving could get what is due. As so many times our servers fell short as we didn't have small bills and the front desk just wouldn't or didn't have change. There are ways around it like the luggage guys, the bar guys usually have small bills but just seems like a we are always on the search for small bills.. Hope to return again next year.... Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing resort!

Everything about this resort was so great! The food was amazing and there was an abundace of choice. You are able to eat at all AL a carte restaurants between all of the bahia hotels so there are many choices. There beach bar service so servers come and bring you drinks while you enjoy the beach so you never need to get up. Impeccable service and cleanliness at the resort. Both my friend and I have not one negative thing to say about the resort.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Just go

Our stay was great large property but the tram cars are get you around service was great, rooms clean and nice lots of huts on the beach and pool no towel game needed ride for airport 30 minutes ..just go have fun

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Superb Resort

The room was spacious and the decor was good. The staff (bar, entertainment team, housekeeping, servers in the restaurants, front desk and bell boys) were always smiling and provided an excellent service.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Huge resort

Great resort. Food was great everywhere except the 24/7 a la a carte that was hot dogs and hamburgers mostly. Bring comfortable shoes if u want to see lots or take the bus throughout the resort. It comes every 10 mins. The tapanyaki al la carte and garden grill were amazing. I loved how you can have access to all the other resorts and shows with some limitations. We paid extra for Bavaro vs. punts and it was the same thing.. The lounge in bavaro is a little nicer but u have acces to both lounge [... read more]s anyways. Also the safe is $4 per night... Very misleading. Our room has lights not working and they couldn't fix them. People are not really happy to serve and sometimes we would order a drink and they wouldn't get it. The lounge is dead by 11.. Great for families. There is a club and another liver are on the punts Cana side where the shops are.

The Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay is a lovely resort. The rooms are clean, but could use some maintenance (particularly the bathrooms). What sets this place apart is the level of service offered by the Don Pablo Collection staff who were great! The service and attention we received was excellent!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: piece of paradise

This hotel is an excellent price for the quality of service. We went in November so it was nice and quiet and we always got a spot at the beach. Drinks were delicious+ try the mango margarita. If you like a laid back resort this is the one to go to. For some more action you can always go to the activity pools at the other resorts (coba, akumal) or you can visit the hacienda

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing stay but terrible beds

Staff were great, food was amazing, loved the drinks. But... The beds were terrible. Like sleeping on just the box spring. Rooms were clean and mini bar was stocked daily. Beaches were nice and clean and the resort was not over crowded. Found the vip sales people a bit pushy but that's just the way it is for that stuff.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Another Great Stay at Bahia Principe Ambar

This is our favourite resort in Punta Cana, and we have stayed her multiple time. The Villas are located close to the beach and although the Bahia Resort is very large the Ambar has it''s own lobby, pool and restaurants making it easier to walk around without having to go to the main lobby. The rooms are getting a little outdated but they were very clean and towels were changed twice in the morning and at night. The beach area is also very clean and they have someone coming around and brushing the sand off our chairs. Nice touch... The staff are very friendly and try to accomodate you at all times. Although the beach bar is OK the lobby bar had better quality drinks. The food in the restaurants is OK, and the buffet as well, I found that there was always something that you could eat. keep in mind that for the price that we pay for hotel and the all inclusive ameneties, it is a great deal. We will go back again in the Spring.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Trip

Great hotel. Very well kept and clean. Food was awesome. Very big resort, lots to do. Excursions were a little pricey and you not close to the beach, but the trolleys will pick you up and take you there. Definately recommend and will be staying at another Grand Bahia in the near future.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Decent resort BUT Dont do TimeShare meeting

This is my 2nd trip to the BPAkumal. 1st time was 10 yrs ago and it was great. This time (Oct 18th/14 - for a wk) it was just OK. A lot of construction, food was ok, no ice machines for each villa like before. We unfortunately had rain for 5 days so TV in the room would have been useful however the cable only worked 1 day. The problem was never fixed. I am not too difficult to please so all of the things I mentioned we tolerable as the working Staff (all the REAL workers - Cooks, Maids, Wait Sta [... read more]ff, Shuttle drivers Etc.) were great. Always smiling and ready to help with anything. Unfortunately we did sign up for the "Special Tour" for repeat guests. Basically this is a "High Pressure Timeshare Meeting" Unfortunately for them, when things sound to good to be true I know its a sign to run. I was even asked if my cc would accept a $8,000 + charge. We sat initially with a nice kid, then a fast talking girl, then a cheesy sales guy with cigarette breath and finally the top dog who still was pushing. 3 hrs in to this meeting that was suppose to be 90min. I basically said enough as my poor kids sat through all of this as well. We signed a release form. Were given a few cheap T Shirts NO Vodka as promised. I didn't even care as I just wanted to leave. We have been to BP is Jamaica and twice here BUT because of the meeting I will not vacation here again. NO MORE BP fir us.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Guess we are not getting married here

Just checked into the Gran Bahia Principe a couple of hours ago, this is our second time coming to this resort. We were here for new years eve in 2012 and loved it, we thought we would want to do a location wedding at this hotel so a month before we were coming I sent them an email telling them I was a returning guest and thinking of getting married there and would it be possible that we speak with someone while we were there for the week to find out what was involved, and of course the cost of  [... read more]having a location wedding, does everyone book with the same travel company? ECT Anyway they never replied to my email so on Monday this week before coming I resent it and asked if they had received it, still no reply...... We checked in like I said a couple of hours ago and my room is worst then the last time I was here. Didn't realize or remember that we need to pay for room safe so I went to the front desk to pay and just for fun mentioned to the employee that I thought being a returning guest I might of gotten a better room, she informed me that at this hotel you have to come back at least 3 or 4 times before you get any upgrades. obviously we won't be getting married here....and by the way we weren't looking for anything for free, just a price list or someone to explain how location wedding go, lol, I will review it after we leave. We are back home now, We are back home now, Let me start with the Don Pablo "Adults Only" upgrade. If you get the Don Pablo package you get to stay in the newest section of the hotel, free use of in room safe, you get room service, a Don Pablo exclusive restaurant, a private area at the pool with brand new lounge chairs, towels and cabanas, (cloth) waiter service at the poolside, a private poolside bar and washrooms, a private entertainment area at night with live singers and performers and private section off areas at the beach with new towels lounge chairs and beach bar. When I say private I mean only the people that purchased the "Don Pablo" package get to use it. Now if you didn't get the Don Pablo upgrade like me (it was the same money to upgrade to ocean view or Don Pablo although most of the rooms in the Don building are ocean view some are on the lower levels) this is what I got...... My room Ok nothing special had to pay for room safe $8 per day water pressure was excellent only problem was that the shower door didn't close proper and water went everywhere if you weren't carful, not Red Stripe in fridge but Carib, a beer from Trinidad, I think it was the worst beer I ever drank, the bed was so uncomfortable that I was up every couple hours and my back is still aching, maid did great job cleaning room, no complaints there, my room was in wing 2 which overlooks the Don area, that I couldn't use, I had to walk by the Don restaurant (was told can't eat here not "Don") to get to the other buffet, had to walk by the "don" poolside cabanas to get to the pool area that we could use. the lounge chairs are the same ones that were here in 2012 they are in rough shape, sagging, dirty, torn, and stained. We couldn't get pool towels for two days, finally on the third day we went first thing and got some, if you don't go first thing they run out of towels by 10am (they open at 9) It rained a couple times while we were here and the main lobby was leaking everywhere, buckets to catch water all over, a piece of drywall fell from the ceiling right by where there was a chandelier hanging and water was now dripping from the chandelier with the lights still on, hotel needs upgrades (paint, carpet, waterproofing, exposed hydro ECT. Nightly entertainment wasn't worth watching very amateurish with a very annoying mc. Food was average but same everyday at buffet, you can sit outside to eat and I recommend it, Elton the waiter was a great guy, great service, funny and very attentive, remembered our names after only telling him once. They still haven't answered my emails yet although they did reply to my trip adviser review that I wrote when we got here, asking me to go talk to the managers or something of that nature, I don't think that I should need to talk to the manager to get a meeting with wedding coordinator (emailed them) or have to beg for free upgrade because I'm a returning guest, (mentioned in the emails I sent) I wonder if they would have answered my e-mail if I had upgraded to Don Pablo. If you are going to stay at this hotel you should buy the Don Pablo upgrade unless you want to be treated like riffraff on your vacation. Which is exactly how we felt the whole week.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: great resort

the grand bahia tulum is a nice clean resort we had a great view of the water from our balcony.food was good,went for long walks on the beach which we loved.have been to two other resorts near by and liked the Barcelo better.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: I will go back !

I will write tips that other travellers would find useful. Hotel - clean and beautiful. The hotel is well designed. Everything is easily accessible. The lobby has a wonderful seating area and the overall feel is very welcoming. It is evident the staff takes pride on keeping the grounds well maintained. Rooms - clean and spacious. We didn't spend much time in ours but I don't really have any complaints. The one thing I noticed is the noise can travel in the hallways. Food - Amazing! No complai [... read more]nts here. Wide variety of options. Breakfast was a must. All the a la cartes we went to were delicious. Make sure you don't miss Thursday night at the buffet as they have lobster! Drinks - Delicious. All I can think about is more dirty bananas and coco locos! Beach - peaceful and quiet. We did not find it overcroweded at all as most people seemed to hang around the pool. The only complaint I would have is the amount of times I was asked about a welcome gift and attending a welcome meeting. Sometimes I was approached 4 times per day which got irritating. Overall though, I had a great trip, I would recommend the hotel to others and I would go back.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Paradise

Great staff, good food. Very clean and comfortable. The beach was lovely but small. Could use a snack bar on the beach. Show at night were great. Would go back again. Loved the Samana area. The ziplining was a great day trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort.

The resort is lovely but it is disappointing that it is not a beachfront property. It is a great place for families with children, the jungle gym by the main activity pool looked amazing! Our room was old and had a strong musty smell especially during our first two days. The rooms need to be updated. I was not very happy that we had to pay to use the safe in the room, we have never had to do this at any other resort. Staff were constantly sweeping and cleaning the floors etc. The shuttle bus is a great feature and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes to catch a ride. Overall we had a nice stay but if we return we will stay at the Akumal resort which is more elegant and located right on the beach.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Stay

The Sian Kaan is an amazing hotel. The ability to use the rest of the Bahi hotels is also a plus, we used them all. I would definitely recommend staying at the Sian Kaan for the atmosphere, service and food. That being said we took the opportunity to spend time at the other hotels in the complex and we would most likely stay at the Akumal next time. This is because we are beach people and do not use the pool. We preferred the beach area around the Akumal and the Coba to the rest of the beach. It [... read more] was much better for snorkeling. Don't let the shuttle rides worry you, they are short and come so often you never wait. We used them to see the complex and it made it easy to go to other restaurants, casino and gift shops which were at other areas of the complex. Food and service at the other hotels were also exceptional and the resorts are all kept in pristine condition. We found all staff to attempt to serve and make your stay the best possible, but here are a few standouts we encountered who made our stay even better. Guelliono who works in public relations at the Sian Kaan. This young man is a go to guy. You have a bright future is the hotel business. And Manuel and Franko our waiters at the Sian Kaan buffet. Thanks for the exceptional service and attention you gave us and all your clients. We had an excellent and relaxing stay.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing place

Our week at Gran Bahia Principe was great. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was beautiful. We were 5 minutes from the pool. The staff were so friendly everywhere from the lobby, restaurants and housekeeping. Around the pool each day was so fun. Entertainment going on each day. Was great to cool off in the pool with a drink at the pool bar. The food was excellent. Can't complain at all about that.
