Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Nice but noisy

The hotel is lovely but because it is small you can hear the entertainment in your room. Really loud in fact. If you don’t enjoy watching it and like to go to sleep before 11:30 this is not the place. The beach and pool areas were not crowded The food was good Took four hours on a bus to get there

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Good Resort

The room was clean with a good view, mini fridge was refilled everyday. The pools were clean. The four a la carte restaurants did not need reservations which was convenient. Daily activities and entertainment on the resort. Staff was friendly.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: viva Winham

Beautiful beach, clean water,small, modern and quiet, everything we were looking for. Food and drink very good, no need for a la carte reservations, although main restaurant has always interesting choices available.Money well spent.

Emotions by Hodelpa Juan Dolio: Ok 4 Star !

We’ve been at the emotions mid June before vacation got a good deal and want it to try something else . The hotel by itself is small compare to Bahia or iberostar ... for us it was a plus ... the service is good ... we were with my 3 year old daughter ... had some entertainment. Lot of local go there from Thursday- Sunday ... expect to meet a lot of them because this hotel is not far from the capital ... Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Beautiful resort

The resort is small, but very beautiful everything is close by, only problem is there is alot of stairs to go to the beach, the restaurants the pool, you can't avoided,but that's how the resort is built, great for people with no health problems,while we were there on our third day l got very sick, from something l ate, it was terrible, we have been going away every year for 12 years, and never gotten sick,3 days later l had to see the doctor since l couldn't eat or drink much,and right awayl was [... read more] told there was going to be a extra charge, if it was their food that l ate, why did l have to pay,good thing we always travel with insurance other wise the doctor would not treat me, that's something they need to improve on, taking care of their clients should be top priority especially if the're at fault.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Experience of a lifetime!

My wife and I stayed from June 17-24th in Villa 1, room 1104. It was an amazing trip from start to finish thanks to all the amazing staff! Pedrito and Wander were absolutely amazing throughout our stay and we can't thank them enough for their kindness and friendship. Manuel our security guard at the public beach access was always smiling and happy to see you. The beach and pool servers Angel, Eduardo, and Erickson were all excellent and funny guys to talk with while making sure you were always being attended to. The lifeguard Yoemarvin was very impressive and extremely helpful and kind with all the guests at the beach pool, and was especially focused watching the children. Our room service staff Jennifer, Alexandra, and Santa were amazing and always cleaning and bringing fresh towels. The butler Jose was always available if needed and didn't impose. The lobby bartender Walky made some of the best drinks I've ever had, and servers Manuary and Gabriel were very fun, courteous guys that had great personalities. We loved the location of Villa 1 since it was centrally located and allowed us to enjoy every inch of the island including Barcardi beach for amazing snorkeling, the beach pool, and the resort's 2 private beaches. We enjoyed that Barcardi beach's bar was only open to hotel guests after 11pm and although not many people were able to stay up after so much fun and sun, we got to know how amazing Wander and Pedrito are and they made sure that we couldn't wait to go back every night we were there! Our room was amazing. We preferred the privacy that the balcony had to offer from Villa 1. The air conditioning was working great and there were 2 separate controls, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. We had as much hot water as needed! The food was always good at the buffet and the restaurants. There was always a wide selection to choose from even for the pickiest of eaters. Jose working the grill was willing to make anything for you just the way you wanted it done. Excellent service from all servers and a special smile for Omal who explained he wasnt following us we were following him around the island from restaurant to restaurant. The trip was a memory of a lifetime. Romantic, relaxing and fun! We can't wait to return to spend time with some of the nicest people we have met in our travels. Cheers to all the staff at the resort as there were many I know I forgot to mention. I look forward to seeing all our new friends again in June next year. Thanks to all from Cayo Laventado!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Excellent resort.

The grounds was well manicure. Room was a 4*. Service was excellent and restaurant was ok. The best alacart was Italian and Japanese. Some improvements can be done in lobby washrooms. Staff was very goof and helpful.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Great Trip

My boyfriend and I just returned from our trip here and it went pretty well. We stayed in the Privileged rooms and it was a nice modern room. The washroom had a double shower. The only downfall of the room was the smell that came from the sewage ( toilet and sinks) but other than that the room was great. There was even a hammock on the balcony. The food at the resort is just alright. The Italian restaurant was the best although I didn't make it to the Japanese restaurant as every night they were full and no longer accepting anyone. We were never bothered by people looking to sell timeshares and all employees had a great attitude. Overall I had a great time here and I would definitely return to Punta Cana!

Whala Bavaro: Whala Bavaro

Very nice resort for the price. Staff very friendly. Variety of food. 5 swimming pools with plenty of lounge chairs. Always able to find a place in the shade.3 bars included. A few minutes walk to the beach which had ample lounge chairs. Rooms clean, bed very comfortable. We would definitely return here.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: 3rd time was definitely not lucky

This is my third time visiting this property and I really hate giving it a 3 star because it used to be such a great resort. I am a very fair reviewer but things have changed here and not for the better. 8 girlfriends went down to celebrate turning 60 and I chose this property because most of us had been here before. Pros 1) The staff are so very kind and helpful. They do their very best to get you up and moving so you engage with your fellow travelers. They also do their best to entertain y [... read more]ou. They work so hard cleaning the tired rooms and in the restaurants. 2) The food is good when you can get it. All 3 a la carts were very good. 3) Check in - quick and painless and they did their very best to accommodate all 8 of us. 4) The weather is almost always perfect in Puerto Plata 5) Plenty of shade at the beach between the palapas and the trees. 6) Great air conditioning, hot water and shower power in the rooms. Cons: 1) Shame on you for using those single-use, small 6 ounce plastic cups and straws. We spent the whole week picking them out of the ocean, off the beach and out of the pool. You didn't have enough staff to walk around and clean them up from the pool area so we did it for you. The whole world is eliminating single use plastic and you started using it! What's wrong with the acrylic glasses that get hundreds of uses? What the heck is wrong with you guys!!??! 2) I realize that it's off-season, but you don't have enough staff to serve your customers in the buffet. Every morning for 7 days I had to go find a server to get a cup of tea. In the evening we almost never got asked if we wanted drinks. We always had to hunt for a server. You kept running out of things on the buffet and we either had to wait around or chose something we didn't like in order to eat. 3) Your tired, old chairs at the beach and at the pool are still in use from 3 years ago when I last visited. They are frayed and busted and are quite shameful. I suggested you invest in new loungers in that review but you chose not to. 4) Your rooms, while comfortable enough are old and tired and are in dire need of an upgrade. 5) Your WIFI, while free one hour per day around the pool and in the lobby, did not work even one day. They only way someone can get any useful WIFI is by buying it for $12 or $25 USD. If someone is keeping in contact with their office while on vacation, I suggest going to a different property. As I said, it makes me sad that you're not keeping up with the times. You've become irrelevant. We pay for WIFI at Be Live, we pay for safes at Be LIve, you use low grade liquor at Be Live - yes, everyone noticed that you don't use the real stuff. And you don't care about the environment. I always give good reviews but I just cannot this time. I'm so sorry because Spaghetti, Mosquito, Rafael and all the others deserve more from you.

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Amazing resort.

This place has breathtaking beautiful gardens. It was a pleasure to take walks in the early mornings and evenings. The food was very good offering guests a vast variety of food selections. However, we were not happy with the Oriental Restaurant. We found that the resort was huge and at times very tiring for us to get from one area to another. It would be great if they would consider offering cart service for seniors. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to [... read more] assistance us with our concerns. Only, we had to wait 4 hours before check-in as we arrived at 11 a.m. and they have check in set at 3 p.m. It was an uncomfortable hot wait for us.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful Beach

Grounds were very well kept but the rooms were a bit dated but kept clean. Very nice sandy beach and ocean had a very sandy bottom. The food on the buffet was ok and the services was slow but food and service was much better at the a la carte. The resort need to switch drink glasses to re-useable plastic as the disposable cups and straws produce so much garbage.. No need to use straws as you find a lot of straws on the beach.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: The Bahai Principe Aquamarine, Punta Cana

Everything was great, the food and the hotel, the staff was very helpful when asked. Drinks were good and all the Al a cartes were excellent. Getting to the beach you had to take a choo choo which wasn't usually a problem there was a lot cartes but sometimes they would get tied up and had to wait for 10 minutes or more.

Secrets Cap Cana: Very Clean and very kind staff

The resort was very clean all around!! The staff is very kind and always have a smile on their face...Food was excellent lots of variety and our top restaurant was the Italian. Beach is clean and well located. All around 5 star Resort. Good job Secret Cap Cana!!!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Ok

This was my 3rd stay at his resort. I Felt it is really showing its age. The rooms had lots of small problems. No plugs. We had to plug our coffee maker in ian outlet in the bathroom. The shower door did not operate properly nor the closet door and our patio door did not lock. The line ups the first weekend we were there were atrocious. I was disappointed with the liquor selection. We normally enjoyed a crime liquor in the mornings with our coffee but not this time. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Best in Class!

Absolutely amazing. No complaints, great food, great place, great people. Will definitely be going back again. Recommended the Catalina Island excursion for adults who like to get out and see the country and the culture.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good value

Lobby nice, 0ne pool for entertainment large pool, one quiet pool medium size. 3 jacuzzi and the beach. restaurant with menu italien excellent, Mexican good and see food unfortunately I did not like my main course. Buffet acceptable. You can eat all day. My room was clean and good the made was excellent. No problem with water. Evening entertainment was good. I recomand this hotel.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort!

This was our 5th visit to the Luxury Ambar and first since the renovation. Best visit yet! Everything about this resort is fantastic. It’s a quiet resort and by 10:30 pm it’s very quiet which is how we like it. We love this resort and will be back.

Riu Bambu: Amazing Resort
