Hotel Bella Costa: excellent place to stay

it's a very beautiful place surrounded by sandy beaches. The food is good and available any time. The staff is friendly and helpful. Almost everyone speaks English. Golf course, main roads, bus stops are conveniently located. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing and wonderful place

Very good place for families vocation. The variety of warm foods should be more but the quality was perfect. Fruits were good and also many kinds of salads and icecream and sweets were available. Also gulf cars were available all times with poliet drivers. Room services also were very good. I will visit this resort again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort

The resort was great. As an adults only resort it seemed to cater mainly to the older crowd, music activities etc. Pretty quiet if you are just looking for somewhere to go and really relax then this is the place for you.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Resort was ok

This resort was ok. Buffet was not the best but friendly staff and clean. The whole resort was very broken up and unorganized. Only one snack bar open and took over an hour to get food. Hotel rooms were clean but ran out of hot water. Overall will not stay there again

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good resort.

The maid service was horrendous. Towels not changed daily. Toilet paper not replaced. Pillows missing and askedmfor several times. Etc etc. Rooms made up very late in day when wanting to get ready for dinner.

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

Nice bright lobby, our suite was very spacious and in a quiet part of the resort. The staff was helpful and Roberto on the entertainment team was awesome! Best meal was at the snack bar, Jolie is the best chef and never let us down with what ever we ordered! Can't wait to go back.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good vacation

The hotel grounds are very attractive with a nice beach area. Our room was clean with a balcony overlooking palm trees and was a good size. The bathroom was in need of some maintenance the shower head was insecure and there was a broken stopper in the sink. The buffet restaurant didn't have a lot of variety and occasionally ran out of some items.Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful . Hotel Bella Costa: Great time!

This hotel is great for families and singles alike. There is a fun atmosphere due to the wonderful staff. The hotel is in need of some repair, in particular the outdoor stage should be fixed so that people can enjoy the beautiful nights while watching the nightly show. We found the food to be quite good, especially breakfast and lunch. The BBQ at lunch is fantastic! Dinner can be hit and miss. Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Nice facility

Resort looks great, main hotel areas look beautiful, however, we got a room with no A/C nor any hot water, was unacceptable had to battle with reception to get another room, after that all went well. Food was good and found one waitress that gave us wonderful service. Took tour to Havana and Jeep excursion, both well worth it. Our Sunwing rep was great ! Overall good holiday

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Incredible resort!

This hotel is unique as the two story units are spread out with flower lined pathways in between. This means that there is peace and quiet and no crowds. The only busier places are the buffet area and the main lobby in the evening. The gym is well equipped and the staff are exceptionally kind and helpful. The food is good and the a la carte dinner options are easily accessible, so much so, that we ate at a different location every night. Palma Real: Same resort...same beaches

The hotel itself was repainted on the exterior but the same from inside... you should not go to this hotel for the nice rooms... but is Cuba, so enjoy the beach ...the music around the pool in the afternoons and the night club which is owned by the resort so you'll save 1o cuc every time on entrabce fee. Food is also up to the local standards ..so if you are not too picky ..will find something to fill your stomach... Elevators are random.. . Like hot water ... Punta Peninsula Varadero: Average resort

I guess I have mixed feelings.....but in the end, for the price I paid, which was just a little over $1000 per person, I don't think I can have high expectations. The one thing I didn't enjoy is having to use same beach towel for the week (and had to ask the maid for one when I got there as they were supposed to be in our room upon arrival). The room was also not ready when we got there at around midnight (other than beach towels missing, 1 bath towel was missing, 2 pillows and a cot for 3 fami [... read more]ly occupancy). A jacket had been left hanging in the closet and it mysteriously disappeared the next day so someone had to come into our room to get it when we were absent the next day....which is kind of creepy however, none of our stuff was missing)

Grand Memories Varadero: Not recommended

The hotel needed some upgrading. No coffee makers in the room. If you had a coffee maker, you were told you needed to bring your own coffee. ran out of stuff all the time. One of the pools was half closed for over 3 days. The wait staff were unpleasant and you had to wait for any kind of service in the restaurants. The bar staff were pretty pleasant most of the time. Beach was beautiful.

Club Kawama: We'd go again, but.....

Club Kawama is a really nice resort .. clean, great layout, nice restaurant and bar staff and chamber maids... excellent food, great entertainment!.... receptionists are a little off putting and reluctant to help, but in the end all was well. We were put in a room with 2 single beds and had a hard time changing to a room for a couple. We would go back again but only if we could book a superior room. It would have made a much better experience with an ocean view and a balcony.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not the Cleanest !!!

Was at this resort when it was the RIU it was great, not so much now. Did the upgrade to Diamond Club which I was very disappointed in and don't feel like we received much for the extra $. Our first room had a very Septic type odor it was gross especially where we paid to have SUPERIOR ROOMS HAHA. 2 rooms later and half the day wasted we got a room that didn't smell too bad. Our friends that we met there paid for Superior Room only no Diamond Club and their room was fine. TV didn't work no c [... read more]offee maker (which is a huge thing for me), toilet didn't flush half the time, hair dryer didn't work, phone didn't work, took a few more days to get everything fixed. Food was normal CUBA food, buffet was cold most of the time. The grounds were pretty good, but the Pool however was not cleaned, I specifically watched all week as our room overlooked the pool. Drinks were still sitting in the same place from the day before not cleaned up. One night the Resort had a Beach Party that could be heard in a large portion of the resort where the rooms were went well past midnight no sleep that night. The beach was nice, and the Al A Cartes were not bad. We made the best of it but was very disappointed in the quality of the Grand Memories, and especially where we paid for Diamond Club was a complete waste of $. A lot of the people we spoke with all felt the same way were very disappointed.

Playa Caleta: Fantastic Girls Trip!

The hotel ended up being much better than expected for the price we paid. Rooms were clean, lots of hot water and pressure, beds very comfy, and the view was to die for. Slet every night with the patio door open to the sound of waves crashing on the sand. Pool areas were awesome! Lobby bar amazing as well as pool bar! Service always frienday and accommodating if approached with a smile! Iberostar Origin Tainos: Stunning beach - disappointing food

Lovely resort and as we had a bungalow away from the pool and festivities, it was a very peaceful trip. We spent most of our time on the beautiful beach and ate in the a la carte restaurants while we were there. We were warned. The food is bland and not great. I was surprised that it was all true. Sadly the food was awful unless we stuck to the simple eggs, bread, fruit and so on. Some salads at the buffet had some taste, but the two restaurants were sadly disappointing.

Grand Memories Varadero: Needs a lot of work

It wasn't the cleanest The pool area wasn't swept there were cigarett butts everywhere We really weren't happy with the resort at all I won't go back to that one The maid we had was very good The coffee maker didn't work she brought us another one

Playa Caleta: Good value for cost

Stayed here on a girls trip. We wanted cheap place to go and settled on this one. It was OK. Our rooms were clean and beds were comfy. We had beautiful views of the Ocean. The resort is a bit rundown, some places really dirty especially bathrooms in common areas. Most of the staff were amazing and friendly. I can easily say we all had a wonderful vacation & enjoyed our stay at Bellevue Puntarena!

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Great Location

Resort Aging but clean and well kept Room clean, big and everything worked Beach amazing Pool big but cold Buffet better than expected, fresh stations for every meal Italian and Mexican restaurants were good Snack bar open late with hots and hams for when getting back from the street Staff were good and helpful, much better than many of the ignorant other guests Location This is what made the trip great for us, great location near the main street in Varadero. Street has great bars  [... read more]and restaurants, close to the city park. Go anywhere on the hop on hop off 5 pesos a day double decker buses. Take a ride in one of the old 20's to 50's vintage cars, we booked one for an hour for 30 pesos. Live music every night at Beatles Club or Calle 62 till at least 1 am. Cheap and cold beer and good food at many locations on street. Included best warm water lobster I have ever had (still no comparison to coldwater) at the Groto in the park. Very cool location with a few tables in a cave. Full dinner of lobster and shrimp for three and steak for one with appetizer and bottle of wine for just over 110 pesos. Great pizza and pasta at Kikis. Overall had an excellent time. Will definitely be back to Varadero. Felt very safe out in town, no pushy vendors (other than the horse drawn carriage drivers always asking if you wanted a ride). Only decision for next time is whether to use a resort or rent an apartment in town.
