Riu Republica: Fantastic resort.

Stayed at the Riu Republica November 12 thru November 19 2017. Very modern resort with great concept for the night show. Seating in theatre extends out into large seating area adjacent to large bar. All guests have opportunity to watch the show and i would estimate 500 people plus must be in attendance each night. Great beach long and wide. Lots of shade and lots of beds. Ocean was a little rough with big waves although I'm sure not like that all the time. Animation staff are the best I  [... read more]have seen. The leader " bugs bunny" has unbelievable energy and runs his crew from early morning to late at night. Food at buffet was plentiful and very good. Restaurants were all a mixture of a la carte and buffet. Lots of different options. Republica 1 opened up the day before we left. More restaurants pools and waterslides . Great rooms lots of space. Very attentive staff at restaurants and lobby area.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good times...

Hotel was massive (but I knew this as I have been before). Very clean and well kept. Rooms are spacious and again, clean. Food was fine- not gourmet but that's not what I went for. Always something good to eat and the pasta bar is always there in case you can't. Beach is beautiful but very busy. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at this resort.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Troubled resort

2 days without hot water and the staff and management could care less and only offered an alternate room after hours of complaining. The staff didn't know how to navigate the resort. The resort is looking rather dated and could use with a major face lift.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Grounds - Not So Beautiful Rooms

Grounds are gorgeous & well maintained. The beach was amazing. The lounge chairs were not the most comfortable. The staff were fairly miserable. They would smile to say hello and then be straight faced and generally unhappy. (We're happy cheery people so it's not like they were feeding off of our energy, we went out of our way to be kind and grateful). The food was great with many different options. We did find a few things undercooked like the pancakes that were full of batter in the  [... read more]middle. The room was brutal, broken entry door that we had to body check to get in, broken toilet, the tub was painted to look new, they tiled over the existing tile on the rear wall to make it look new, the showerhead only pointed straight down so you had to stand with the faucet handle against your rear end, broken TV, musty smell, stains on upholstery, either red paint or blood on the interior of the closet doors (were fairly certain it was red paint but couldn't be sure). Either the maid left our sliding door open one day or someone tried to break in and left the door ajar. We specifically asked trip central to get us a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor so we didn't have to be concerned about security but we did not get that. We were also told by Trip Central that we were getting an updated room (they advertise nicer rooms on the website) and we obviously did not get a nicer room and I couldn't see any buildings that actually had them. I think they used pictures from the neighbouring resort (Barcelo Bavaro Palace). The Palace was gorgeous and staff were more friendly. Everything there was clean, new and modern. This part may or may not have to do with the hotel but it's worth noting: A Sunwing representative named Emmanuel was supposed to meet us at the resort in Guest Services to ensure we get the transfer back to the airport when we leave (it's also an opportunity for them to sell you excursions). We were told we absolutely had to be at this appointment. We went at the time we were given, Wednesday at 2:00 pm and he was a no show. Another guy from another company call his cell and he said he wasn't coming and that we should come back at 2:00 pm on Friday and that Emmanuel said he would be there. We showed up Friday and he was a no show again. We only had three full days at the resort so Emmanuel completed hooped us for being able to go anywhere or do any excursions because we had to be there for those appointments. Furthermore, we had no clue if the transfer back to the airport had been confirmed. Our flight through Sunwing was also brutal but that's another story.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Trip of a lifetime!

The resort was amazing. Everyone was friendly and the facilities and grounds were well kept. The entertainers were excellent especially Jhonny, Luis, Alexander and JC. It would have been nice to have a schedule of where and when different things were going on. We stayed at Ambar Green and were disappointed that the nightlife died at 11:30pm. We thought an adults only meant single adults but most were couples. But...we would go back again!

Riu Republica: had an awesome time!

Hotel was great! The room was very nice. The ocean view from the room was great. it was so relaxing to sit out on the balcony and watch the world go by. Tons of fun at the swim up pool bar! The food was good (some restaurants were better than others, but that's a personal food choice). the beach was awesome!

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Great time with a great place and people!

Everything was wonderful. The food so yummy. The entertainment great and fun! The sun club is definitely worth it. Rooms were so big and nice. Everything was very clean and the average works well. We were treated like gold. Spoiled in every way. I want to go back! Everyone was so amazing.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Barcelo Bavaro Palace - our favorite resort in Punta Cana - Nov. 3-17, 2017

My wife and I have been here close to 10 times since 1999. We get complimentary golf with Sunwing Tours but must pay a cart fee of $75 USD per person to play. Golf course is very good Pete Dye layout. Cart pricing is too costly in our minds. Restaurant selection is good and food is better than average among resorts we have tried. Had a lot of rain this trip but inconvenience was minor due to timing.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: perfect family vacation

Beautiful grounds, gorgeous beach, great food, friendly and helpful staff. Very accommodating staff. They came quickly to fix the phone and safe. We added Preferred Club level and made trip extra special. We had room closer to beach and access to preferred club pool and lounge. Staff accommodating with food allergies.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Paradise!

I will start with the flaw, the one flaw. The bed was too hard. The 3 other ladies I travelled with felt the same but were not affected in the same manner as myself because I have existing lower back issues. However, all things considered, it did not ruin my trip and I will tell you why. The grounds were immaculate, staff was very friendly (contrary to several reviews I read stating otherwise). The room was spotless and lovely and the maid staff made sure we were fully stocked each day with a [... read more]ll coffees, teas, water, etc... the shower is to die for (rainfall shower head), and the hallways/ common areas were also very well kept. We had no issues with either of our rooms. The entertainment staff (pool area) were fabulous. Not pushy but got you up out of your seat to participate in dancing, water activities, Zumba, and even a spin class in the pool. The pool and surrounding area were the cleanest I have ever experienced and everywhere you look is beautiful. Lots of covered areas (umbrellas, canopied lounge chairs) and an ample amount of chairs so there was no worry that you wouldn’t find one. They hosted a beach party and a champagne jacuzzi party on 2 of the evenings so there’s a nice mixture of events as well as nightly shows. The disco is in the village area of the resort so you can choose to participate or not but are not affected by it if you choose not to. It was by far the best resort disco I have ever experienced and I highly recommend it even if you’re not a big “party goer”. It was a great experience. The food was good and the selection varied each evening as the theme changes daily but they did have some constant offerings so if you find something you really like, chances are you will get it again. I enjoyed this resort and all that it has to offer so much that I have decided to have my wedding here next year. I don’t know of anything better than that to express how amazing of a time we had and we can’t wait to return.

Occidental Punta Cana: wonderful hotel

this is my third time at Occidental and again it was wonderful the service as usual was terrific so friendly,you couldn't complain about anything that's there to the food, shows the weather hurt us for the first couple of days with rain but after that fabulous if anyone is reading this and hasn't been to the occidental i would really recommend this resort

Grand Palladium Palace: Disappointing!!

For starters, this was our 4Th time at this resort - I was very disappointed to learn that two of the top restaurants (Brazilian & Japanese) were under construction - With that being said, this is a stay at one and play at three resort, however both the Punta Cana and Bavaro lobbies were closed and under construction as well... There was a lot of construction throughout the resort from beach work to grounds work - Our room was on the ground floor facing the beach - The second day a crew start [... read more]ed digging a trench right outside of our room and this went on the entire stay so needless to say there was not much privacy or enjoyment sitting outside on the little room patio.. Restaurants - The first come, first serve was very frustrating with the above two restaurants being closed - The Royal Turquesa guests have the privilege to make reservations in advance - This made for extremely long waiting times for those staying at any of the other three properties. I had asked our travel agency (Trip Central) about any resort construction, damage, etc due to the recent hurricane or other and were told all was fine - I am disappointed with TC for not being more informed and letting us know of the resort conditions...I have been booking trips through TC for many years and now a little skeptical moving forward..

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: dreams punta cana

the grounds of this resort are excellent. Food was great along with the service. Room are in great need of updating, the only down side. Pool bar was excellent along with the girls serving around the pool. Easy to get your drinks

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellents Punta Cana

Stayed at this resort for the 8th time, Nov. 1 to 11th 2017. This property had been closed during the summer for a major upgrade and facelift. We were the first guests to arrive on the reopening day, Wednesday, Nov.1st. We were greeted by members of the staff and an entertainment group. We had booked our usual standered room, but to our surprise the hotel had upgraded us to the Exclusive Excellents Club. After checking in we were given a tour of the “new” complex, the transformation was abso [... read more]lutely astounding. There were so many changes to mention but it is beautiful. One of the main reasons we like this resort is the layout. The entire complex runs parallel to the beach, so were ever you are accommodated you are only a few steps from the restaurants and the beach. The rooms, restaurants, and entertainment area are top notch. One big change was the relocation of the Exclusive Excellents Club. They have 2 new private pools, each with its own jacuzzi (2) in each pool, also rooms with their own swim up pool. The food is outstanding, and service is there big attraction. I had a chance to talk to the owner at breakfast one morning about the changes and he said they spent about 45 million dollars to bring it up to a more modern facility. This hotel is an adults only, so if you are thinkiing about a vacation in Punta Cana, look at this location, it is a little smaller than most of the new hotels, but it sure beats the long walk in the big properties.

Excellence El Carmen: Extraordinary Service!

Overall the resort is a modern multi- building, multi pool paradise with a spectacular beach! There are many places to start your day whether it's in the well staffed gym or coffee bar, beach front restaurant or incredible buffet. The same holds true for wrapping up your day with delicious dinners and a show in the theatre or a quieter drink with new friends. This resort is luxury but above all they pride themselves on friendly, genuine staff who appear to effortlessly meet your every wish!

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Paradise on land

The most beautiful place I've ever seen. The staff go over and beyond to make sure your stay is all it can be. Kind, helpful and always smiling. A big thank you to Katherine in public relations Fabiola in guest services and Iris, Billy and Carlos from the buffet and last but not least our butlers Yonattan and Hernandez who treated us like royalty. A must see resort. Will definitely be returning.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Vacation with my teenagers...

Hotel was clearly a 5-Star. Staff and common area was luxury. Air Canada representative (Aldo) was very approachable. Tripcentral agent (Jack) was helpful. Air Canada Rouge was also a quality experience. Appreciated not having to pay the entry/exit tax.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Disappointed

This hotel was a disappointment from the Now Jade Mexico. The food was cold at best and all meat dishes were unable to chew. Our room on the 3rd floor bedding smelt musty all the time. The staff was just average.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

This is one of the best resorts I've been too in Punta Cana the resort is very well layed out for a compact resort .The food was excellent with a very good variety every night.The service was by far the best service i have ever had on any other resort I've been too .The staff was very friendly and went out of their way too make everyone happy. The grounds were very clean . Entertainment was very good Rooms were very clean and every thing worked well beach was very nice lots of beach loungers

Riu Republica: Great resort!

My husband and I returned from Punta Cana on Friday after a 7 day stay. Overall we were very pleased with Riu Republica. The hotel was a decent size and very well kept. Rooms were super clean and maintained everyday. The food.and drinks were also good. Staff was very friendly and the entertainment crew did a great job. The beach was beautiful and very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel! :)
