Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Tripcentral let me down

The resort/service/location/transportation were all outstanding. We enjoyed our trip immensely. However, the process of making dinning reservations was never explained or highlighted to us. We were unable to make a single reservation at one of the many dinning options after we arrived. Completely booked for the entire week. Barcelo Maya Palace: Fantastic Trip

The hotel was amazing. Rooms were spacious. Grounds were kept in excellent condition. Food was great, especially the a la carts. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of space for chairs at the pools and beaches

Allegro Playacar: Amazing resort

The rooms and the grounds were very well kept. The beach was beautiful. Amazing staff The only problem was not getting rooms together the manager that night we arrived was very rude to us. I would definitely go back to this resort.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Wouldn't go back

There are better options. They weren't accommodating and options weren't great. You have to do reservations for dinner and it was always booked. Would never go back. I've been at many other resorts and the food option and service has been much better

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Very good deal. Smaller resort with beautiful beach, good food.

Rooms and public areas were clean, well taken care of. The coatis own the place but they're harmless. However, look out for the monkeys. Food was usually v. good in the a la carte restaurants but could be improved at buffet. The service at the buffet could be better as well. English is not as widely spoken as other resorts we've been to, but not a problem. Tipping didn't seem to be expected as many other resorts. No need to "claim" a spot early by the pool or beach with towel like some other [... read more]s, lots available. We upgraded to Privileged; it was worth it given the proximity of the Bloved restaurant to the beach and the food and service. We've been there three times and would definitely go back again.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Service plus

Great friendly and helpful service. Really enjoyed the food. A beautiful smaller resort. No foam parties, swim up bar, or constant racket. A more civilized and enjoyable experience catering to a better crowd of people than most.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Wonderful Resort

We had a wonderful holiday here. The food was very good and plentiful the resort is spotless, they are very attentive to the guests, we enjoyed all the night shows and pool entertainment crew are amazing. Beach area is rocky to get in but noticed many people in snorkleing and swimming.Our room was so comfortable,Stayed on Riviera side . Great time Catalina .

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

The layout of resort is excellent! Blending in the natural environment with the buildings and walkways. All the staff were genuinely friendly at all times, making us feel right at home! Our room was always kept clean and the fridge fully stocked every day with what we wanted and bed was very comfortable. The a la cartes were very good and the foods were all professionally prepared and tasted great! The Imperial Band was fantastic and the lady singer was unbelievable. One of our nightly st [... read more]ops was Don Miguel's. The piano player was excellent and am now hooked on Dry Vodka Martini's. Overall I would and have highly recommended this resort and can not wait until we are back next year.

Riu Palace Mexico: Amazing resprtI

I visited that hotel over 6 times before, this time everithing was great the same as all previous vacations there. The place oz beautiful, fopd is great, service is perfect. I love the place, will be coming back for sure

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Good at best

Spent a week in November 2025. Not the greatest hotel! It lacked quality of food and service was not great. Bartenders couldn’t make a consistent drink taste the same. The grounds are clean and rooms clean. The pool was alright, obtaining a chair is difficult as you can get an unlimited amount of towels so everyone just places the towel and leaves for the day to reserve them. Al a cartes difficult too book on the app. We had a swim up non diamond club and it was the best part of our stay. Absolute worse part is you can only use their taxi services to go anywhere. You cannot use transit or Uber as they are not allowed on resort. It’s a very very far walk to the main gate if you wish to go to Cancun or the mall etc. their price was $130usd return for a 20 min ride there. They should have daily shuttle service complimentary or even for affordable cost at very minimum to the gate. The rooms have a weird capacity to amplify hallway noise and room service carts run all night if your a light sleeper good luck! The beach was ok as was the water. The lazy river is by far the coldest water ever, and you need to bring your own tubes they have like 5 in total. The cost on site for a tube is $50usd overall not a pleasant stay.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Fantastic place for families with younger kids

This resort was absolutely amazing if you are a family with kids under 12. Between the water park at Coba, plus the one on site at Tulum, there was always something for the kids to do. Couple that with the amazing number of activities for kids, and the entertainment, our kids were constantly excited and playing. The buffet food was also absolutely incredible for a resort, with some great variety and choices at every meal. Probably the only downside is how far away this resort is from the airp [... read more]ort (over an hour drive) so I would highly advise booking a private transfer if you can afford it. I would not choose this resort if I wasn't with my kids, but if you're with family you can't go wrong with Bahia Principe.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Loved this place

We really enjoyed this place!!! The food and service and location was amazing. If you want a beach, they don’t have much of one at the resort, but we knew that going in. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who asks.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Family Resort

We loved this hotel from our arrival to departure. The beach, pool, and waterpark was beautiful and well maintained. The food was excellent and so much variety. There was great activities and entertainment. We loved the wildlife and the overall experience of the Sandos Caracol Nature Resort.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Fifth time was not a charm...disappointed!

So this is the 5th time my husband & I stayed here and will not be going back. We purchased Select Club and there was no Select Club check in, you waited with everyone else, took 3 trips back to get our room as it wasn't ready. The service was very slow anywhere, concierge, restaurants, room issue. We waited for breakfast or lunch in the select club restaurant for 30-40 minutes at each service, our app still says we are waiting for the hot water to be fixed and we left the resort 5 days ago w [... read more]hich there were water issues daily with most rooms resulting in water shut off. The a la carte restaurants were great, if you could get a reservation. Best restaurant was El Nido - fast service and hot food. They closed the Mexican buffet for dinner which only left the International and Italian open. If you weren't there when they opened, you could wait up to an hour just to get a table! Resort was kept clean, beach was ok, adult pool was great and snacks in adult section (when the monkeys didn't get them). Not the same resort as previously and was disappointing...won't be back!

Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All Inclusive: Great family resort

The hotel was great, service was awesome, the restaurants were all really great. We loved the Mexican and Italian the most. The coffee shop was incredible and we loved the layout of the hotels, it felt stretched out but also confined. The shows and wellness that was put together were all so nice and amazing to leave after a social sound healing. My only complaint is the beds are hard, very uncomfortable and could use work.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Vacation at Platinum Yucatan Princess

Recently stayed at this resort. November 21-28 2025. We really enjoyed our week at Platinum Yucatan Princess. The resort is beautiful, clean and the staff were absolutely amazing. The concierge, bell boys, servers in all of the restaurants, bars, pool entertainment and the night entertainment team were terrific! The shows were fantastic! The food and drinks were great as well. Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Very scenic grounds, lobby, and nice rooms but food was average at best

Overall, the resort is quite nice, with lots of natural areas, wild life, and large pools. The beach is man-made because the ocean is quite rough on that stretch of coast. Restaurant and pool side staff were all very pleasant. Daytime and nighttime entertainment was good with the standard fare of pool side games and night time Magic, Michael Jackson, and Circus shows. Rooms were clean and comfortable and house keeping staff did a good job with daily service. Our biggest issue was the foo [... read more]d. The a la carte restaurants were fine but most of the buffet food looked unappetizing and was of average quality. Food at the taco/pizza place was good and they were open late so it turned out to be a good late night food option after having a small dinner at the buffet. Hotel is about an hour's drive from the Cancun airport.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Fine but wouldn’t return

Our stay was ok but I wouldn’t return or recommend it. The hotel/property was massive and poorly run. We weren’t able to get any dinner reservations during our week long stay. Most parts of the resort felt dated and needed repairs desperately. It was on a gorgeous strip of beach.

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: Mainstays

We just returned from Marina El Cid, and overall we had a wonderful stay. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. They were fully staffed during our visit, and the service reflected that. The food was great, and with nine à la carte restaurants, we never had any issues booking dinner. There is also one large dinner buffet shared by the three sister properties, though we mostly chose to dine at the à la carte spots. Lots of energy and activities. Ventus – Features a food-court style restaurant for lunch and a café offering coffees and pastries similar to Starbucks. Ventus Ha – Has a quieter, bohemian, adults-oriented feel. It’s smaller and more intimate, with two pools, a lake-like setting, the top-floor Áku restaurant, another à la carte restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, and a cozy bar called Waves. This is a great spot if you want to escape the noise and relax. You can travel between properties by trolley or simply walk—whatever suits you. We visited with a group of 20 and had a great time. The grounds are clean, and we didn’t encounter any pushy sales tactics or timeshare pressure, which was refreshing. The beach is just okay; if you’re looking for something like the beaches in Playa del Carmen, you won’t find that here. But with the pools available across all three properties, you can easily swim every day. There’s also a pickleball court at Ventus. Our junior suite was clean and spacious. We didn’t use the Jacuzzi in the room, but we enjoyed having the extra space. Overall, we would rate this hotel a solid 4.5 out of 5. We had a very enjoyable stay and would gladly return.
