Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Resort

The resort was very clean, beds very comfortable. The food was good. Really enjoyed the steak house so much we went back twice, ltalian was also good.The staff was very friendly. The tram service was great for getting around. Looking forward to going back.

great walkways not slippery when wet. Food was awesome Carlos at breakfast and lunch was great remembered our names after the first time. Had towels animals everyday on the bed, great work Did not care for the French a la cart, other 5 fantastic Did not use the beach

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Very good resort

This was my second time at this resort! Very clean and well looked after. Staff are very friendly and food was great. Everyone was very helpful. Lots of ala carte options and no limits if how many we could use. Never had to scramble for a beach/pool chair as there were lots! A ton of wildlife too... Only complaint were the evening shows... They were mediocre. Overall a great time and I will be back for sure!!

The resort was well cared for. The staff work very hard to keep everything clean. The food is very good at both the buffets and a la cartes....something for everyone. Service was excellent...never an issue getting a drink or coffee. The beach is not good at all....very narrow and lots of seaweed. The workers do their best to rid the beach of this but it is a constant battle. The shows in the evening are typical....not great but they try their best. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Best place in the Mayan so far

The resort had it all, from room service to tasty blender drinks. Easy to locate where all the buildings had amenities for all travelers. Will definitely be back again real soon. A la carte to die for and main buffet almost as good!!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good resort!

The hotel was beautiful as well as the grounds. The pool was awesome and there were lots of bars. The food was out of this world good! The only downsides to the resort was that the ocean was awful and checking in wasn't so smooth. The beach just wasn't clear turquois waters. Other than that the resort was a great place!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Good Value

Rooms do not have balcony's or chairs but are clean and well decorated. Beach long and clean and pools are nice food was good restaurants were very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Overall I would recommend

This was my first time ever going on a tropical vacation and having it be all inclusive as well for both myself and my boyfriend. We had the most incredible time. The food was amazing, we didn't get sick from anything, every night you can go to a different a la carte if you choose. We loved the oriental, mexican and the french which had a different menu every night you went and they would cook in front of you. But we would walk 5- 10 mins to the left of the resort and go to the most amazing lagoon that had the clearest water. We plan on returning and would definitely recommend going here.

Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Lovely but not 5 star.

With this resort it had the show appeal but not the goods to back it up in most situations...private pool in each room could only be filled with cold water, staff did not pick up cushions when it rained and with the humid climate one bout of rain equalled wet seats for a week...closures to the roof top patio based on weather conditions even long after it had stopped raining, kind of a scape goat from management and left you with no where to have a drink! All inclusive didn't mean what it appeared to - as in only C grade drinks were available in the minibar and room service was $20 US per order. Wine at the dinner sittings were an extra charge and cheap bottles we are familiar with were overpriced. All in all, the class level of the resort left us wanting...definitely not a 5 star resort. On the plus side, they were able to give us bicycles to ride to the beach/restaurants, the staff attempted to be friendly although tips were a huge motivator for kindness. Lunches and Dinner options were plentiful and the food on the whole was fairly good.

I been traveling F for the last 20 years never ever have I seen such a bad beach, murky water, rocks at the bottom, full of jelly fish and sand bags on the beach and in the water which you can not see so your will trip over. People at the resort are nice, friendly but when it comes to service is slow but you are on vacation. If you like to enjoy a cup of fresh coffee you will not have that there all the coffee comes from the press button machine all in one. Snack bar is on the poor side like other resorts you place your order and food is made fresh there food is sitting under the lights. It's big resort you can walk and enjoy the grounds which is really nicely kept and look at the animals very few iguanas but sill your can see. there was some rain so the water is standing in the ditches so there is bad smell in some areas just hope is not in your area. Every night there fumigate the area did not experiences too many mosquitos. Entertainment is average but the circus show was nice. Every Tuesday is Mexican night so there are vendors if you like to overpay at least 4 times for jewelry you can buy there or the resort shop.

Very clean, beautiful landscaping. Two pools with plenty of staff getting drinks for us. Lots of great food with a large variety. Only issue was being invited for a special breakfast that waisted three hours of our morning trying to sell us a membership.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Value

The hotel is very nice. Staff keep it very clean. It has some of the nicest people working there. Animation crew keep everyone involved in what was going on. They try very hard to make sure that everyone has a wonderful time. The pools are extremely clean. The food was excellent lots to pick from.

Very clean rooms restaurants and food were GREAT staff friendly only recommendations should Spanish band and more mexican or groups band entertainment Inews the restaurant and perhaps look by to make the place more lively

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: A good value adult resort

This was our 4th trip to the Villas Doradas and we have seen 3 renos. The resort is very clean with a definite pride of ownership. My major beef is that there is a large section of "better" rooms reserved for time share guests versus regular paying clients. If possible we would like to be able to receive CNN and a Canadian TV channel. With the large number of Canadian guests they should be able to mix Caesar's. The selection of food is great and the Jade Garden is a beautiful restaurant with exc [... read more]ellent food vs. the old Chinese format. The small pool beside the Spa should have the bar re-opened for the 4-8pm crowd with some bar snacks and some bar stools. Something that definitely needs to be changed is the beach vendors. Unless these people are resort employees then get them off the property. There is vacant land next door to the east and that is where they can gather, not mingled in front of your beach guests. We receive an insessant noise from this group that is completely inappropriate for the paying guests. There is a wonderful carring staff that is probably underappreciated by the guests.

We recently went for the third time at this resort. I found it improved; which is a very pleasant surprise. We had a very good time and enjoy our vacation at Esmeralda. The rooms and hotel are very nice, the bed is very comfortable, personnel very attentive. The food is excellent and can satisfy every taste, also the quality drinks. For the a la carte menus we liked the Mexican and the steak house, but this is our taste. There is a new Asian food nice restaurant near the secondary pool. The beach is narrower by few meters comparing to the previous years, but we are pool people, so was not a concern for us. The grounds are kept very clean and free of mosquitoes. We had few nice excursions to Ek Balam and Coba. Thank to BD Travel efficient help from Carolina. There are shows in the evening at the improved bar Black and White, pool tables, and other games available,. Several other entertainments are also available. In the previous years we came here with friends and we enjoyed together very much, and we will come back again. I recommend it as a very good value resort.

Only bad thing about this resort wich is not their fault was the beach. Impecable service, beautiful grounds, room were very clean and the food was absolutly the best we ever had at any all inclusive resorts and we've been to manny. The animation was very good.

The beach is not nice at all, looked like beach here. The rooms are out dated, there was mildew on our bathroom. The food was excellent, staff were really nice. Glad I did not pay full price. There is no swim up bar in pool, but has bars close to pool.

The spacious rooms were perfect and always clean. The service was great and we eated very well. Unfortunatelly there was no beach and the water was gray. But there was enought place around the pools since the hotel wasn't full :) Thank's !

Rooms clean and ok, a la carte restaurants food good with a varied menu, pools are big with plenty of sitting area, employees very friendly and tend to your needs, beach not great could not take long walks.
