Paradisus Varadero: A Good Escape with inviting scenery

Resort is located on a beautiful stretch of land, with multiple pools geared for all ages and a gorgeous beach. Most of the staff are very compassionate and understanding; and will do their utmost to aid in making one's stay worthwhile. The caring staff is an asset to the resort. For example: Niuris - My room attendant at #45 did her best to find someone to patch my damaged luggage so it can be used to return home. She's so attentive. Dennys - concierge disregard his time off to allow me [... read more] to contact his phone so that he can relay my concerns to front desk when needed. (phone in my room was not in service) Carla - CSR gave a listening ear to my problems re: No working phone in room; Inability to call front desk for a ride to get around at nights with a 5 year old twins in the darkness. Room key malfunction and being locked out. CSR willingly provided her number as well and aided with relaying my situation to front desk and help was provided. She is very considerate. Maya and the entire kids club team are amazing. They are genuinely caring, protective, talented and truly professional. My 5 year old grand twins enjoyed to the fullest.

Melia Marina Varadero: We haven’t missed anything

Before we booked, we were not recommend to go to Cuba and also not to this hotel. Our expectations were little. But we were surprised to not experienced what we heard. We had food, coffee, nice pastry selection and good bread in the morning. And the beach is awesome. This hotel isn’t a new one. It is big but not many clients for the size. I felt sorry we always missed the best music that played during supper time ( acoustic ) at 9:30 pm or at the pool or the beach , the music was too loud f [... read more]or me. After a week of hearing it is too much.but I guess it is the same elsewhere. Cuban are having a difficult economic time and we can feel it on the employees even if they don’t talk about it. So when we show kindness to them their face changes . All included doesn’t mean no sense to me. When we see people striving to live we just cannot be passive. They live on tips.all included doesn’t include tips in my opinion.

Melia Buenavista: Best of Everything!

The resort is very rich in everything. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, outdoor private balcony with shower under the stars. The restaurants are great! Great view of the Ocean, great selection of a la carte menus and very efficient staff. Lots of fresh selection on the breakfast and lunch buffet. The 3 beaches are all unique and amazing!! White sand and see through crystal turquoise water. The entertainment team is so much fun! Yoga at the beach, aqua gym, salsa dance with the [... read more] amazing and energetic teacher Andrenxon? The sunset rituals are something out of this world! Incredible!! I will return to this Gem of a resort and I recommend to everyone!

Melia Cayo Coco: Best resort around

Our second trip to the Melia Cayo Coco and they did not disappoint. Easy beach access, not over crowded and the greatest staff you could ask for. Great day trip on the catamaran to snorkel on the reef.

Sol Palmeras: Sol Palmaris Resort in Cuba

This is a great resort. The people are very friendly. The food is excellent and the resort very clean. The pool area is very spacious for large and small swimmers. The beach is fabulous. It is clean and very long and great for walking and enjoying the ocean. The water activities are great for adults as well as the children. The entertainment is excellent both inside the resort as well at the pool area and on the beach. The resort staff is very interactive with the guests. Sol Palmeras: I would recommend this Resort

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this resort was. The lobby area is very nice with plenty of comfortable seating. The evening entertainment was nice in the lounge. The outdoor theatre and water ballet was very nice. The food in the buffet was plentiful. The 4 ala cartes were very good. The bar beverages were good and also plentiful. No food or drink or amenity shortages. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Beautiful large beach area. Lots of palapas. Ea [... read more]sy to get to town. Close to the golf course. The Wifi access throughout the resort is not very strong. I would return.

Melia Las Antillas: Amazing trip from start to finish

The resort was perfect the staff were friendly and very helpful. We had the best time. The service was amazing! Very impressed with Kenia who walked the resort many times during the day. She always chatted and asked us about our day. Very attentive staff wherever we went. The entertainment staff was amazing and had lots of fun activities and great music and shows. We would definitely return ?

Melia Varadero: Lovely resort!

I love that the Melia is situated on a wide expense land right next to the beach. Lots of room to move about, lots of room to sit outside and enjoy the weather and a nightcap! It’s great, having an option to book unlimited visits to one of the three inside restaurants. I especially enjoyed going to the international restaurant and seeing Roberto and Betsy on all three occasions (they are wonderful & their crepes rocked)! All the staff were wonderful (our first housekeeper, and our last housekeeper went above and beyond). The only I can say about the resort is that our room was on the cool side and at night it was too cold (although once under the extra blanket, they provided all was well).

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort

I am going back.Its my second time, celebrating my birthday feb 14.I was sooo happy.Very safe.Wonderful people.Cannot wait to go back.Great entertainment.Wonderful weather.Delicous food.Very clean.Happy energy.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Moved after 3 days!

This resort was the worst I have ever been too! After no hot water for showers and flooding of the entire room we had enough!! We moved to the Meliá International! The Paradisus Del Mar was the worst of the worst I have ever stayed in Cuba. After 30 years of travelling to Cuba all I can say is “ We Are Done “ I refuse to spend anymore more of our hard earned money here! Melia Jardines del Rey: Great vacation overall

The beach, pools and the hotel area is probably the best thing to enjoy at this resort! The food is okay, service as well, but overall a great experience! Always nice to get away even for 4 days this was great

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Top Notch Resort

This resort is outstanding in every way. Beautiful grounds, outstanding service, rooms are lovely and the food was really good. They have 4 Ala carte restaurants all of which are really good. We upgraded to Royal side and that takes everything to another level! The beach was amazing!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort

The resort and its staff are beautiful and helpful. Because of the pain in my knees I was limited to where I could walk, so they moved me to a closer building to the buffet. (much appreciated). We tipped the housekeeping staff, buffet waitress, and lobby bar staff, but this is purely personal. All in all we would go back to that resort again. The only negative is, the long bumpy 2 hour bus ride from the airport to the resort.

Melia Las Dunas: Melia Las Dunas Cuba

We arrived on the 8 Feb 2024 at Melia Las Dunas Resort in Cayo Santa Marie and started the check in process. When asked for a room with a king-size bed we were told that it would be a 350 dollar upgrade. We accepted the room we were assigned which was room 4812. When we arrived at 4812 and opened the door we were greeted with the instant smell/odor of mold/musty. We went to open the patio doors and they were not locked so we tried to lock them to see if it works and we were unable to lock the [... read more]m and we were located on the ground floor. I went to use the phone and call the front desk to inform them of this issue and the phone did not work, so we had no way of reaching the front desk. After a few minutes in the room I realized the mold smell was coming from the Air Conditioning and shut it off which helped the smell dissipate a little. After returning from a walk around the resort we attempted to have a shower at which time we realized that we had no hot water pressure in the shower area. The only way to get the shower to engage was to turn on full cold water. But yet the bathroom sink worked great. At this point we walked up to the front desk and talked to customer service. I was asked if I had turn the shower taps all the way to the left for hot water. I explained that I had and yes I was familiar with the operation of a shower. I was basically brushed off by customer service. Later that day I wrote a complaint on the Sun Wing and Trip Central sites. The next day I received a paper directing me to go to customer service. Upon my return to customer service I was greeted by a staff member that was not to happy that I written my complaints on the web sites. I was offered another room and compensation of a bottle of Rum after signing paperwork listing the issues with room 4812. We promptly took room 3022 even though it was away from the group of twelve that we were traveling with. We packed and moved to room 3022. The next day we got up and went to the beach/pool with the group we were traveling with. Upon returning to our room later in the day to get ready to go on a Sunset Dinner cruise we discover that the Bathroom had flooded and there was shit and water all over the place ( I have Pictures). When I contacted the front desk they said that they were aware of the issue and that there would be another room available for us after 4 pm. I tried to explain to them that we were going on the cruise and wanted to get cleaned up before we went and they basically said to bad but that is the best that we can do and we could get the keys for our new room when we returned later that night. Upon returning to room 3022 I had to walk through the water and other stuff still on the floor in the bathroom to get our shaving kits and other toiletries because they had not bother to clean any of the mess up. After carefully looking over room 3022 to make sure we had not forgotten anything we moved to room 3015. Later that night I was violently ill. This put me in my room for basically 36 hours. I had received an email from Trip Central that directed me to talk to the Sun Wing Rep. On Tuesday the 13 Feb I received this email because the Wifi did work most of the time. On the 14 Feb I approached the Sun Wing Rep as directed and was greet with her asking why I was tell her these things when I was leaving the next day. I looked at her and could not believe what she had said. She reluctantly started to write down what I was saying to her. I also mentioned that I had not received the bottle of rum I was promised for compensation yet. We say her talking to a Resort Manager after I finished telling her the problem. I was informed that the bottle of rum was placed in room 3022 the afternoon that the bathroom had flooded. Both my wife and I never saw a bottle of rum while looking around the room to ensure we had not forgotten any of our belongings before moving to room 3015. Needless to say every time I mentioned this to customer service or the Sun Wing Rep I was brushed off and never did receive the bottle of rum I was promised. The other issues with this Resort include running out of food like Eggs, Bacon, Bread and Coffee. The Wifi was never worked properly. Some staff seemed unfriendly when approached with concerns. The Woman’s washroom by the Adult pool had no running water on one occasion, which meant that they could not flush the toilets. I was also served a raw piece of chicken directly off the grill by one of the cooks from the kitchen staff (Picture available).

The rooms were kept very clean, a water leak was addressed and fixed the first day. The animation team was wonderful and the shows stunning and genuinely entertaining. The daily activities were varied and well attended. The only downside is beyond control and that is the shortages of certain foods. I will comment that t [... read more]here was one evening where top company officials were present and the buffet food was extraordinarily outstanding, where the balance of the week the food was a struggle. This is one of the best resorts we have been too.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

Most of the staff were very helpful, very good service. Great beach and pools. Lots of chair’s available all the time. Some food items were not available, like eggs, butter and jam. Some cocktails not available. But we had plenty to eat and drink. The weather was great overall. The mattress should be changed, you can feel all the springs.

Sol Palmeras: Fantastic Resort

Always an amazing time, have been 7 times and already booked for next trip at Sol Palmeras. Continually updating resort, rooms and bungalows. Longest and most beautiful beach. Staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. Have made quite a few friends over the years. Look forward to seeing Yaqueline , Pudarmis in the buffet. Caridad at the lobby bar/ liquor table, Mario the ever smiling bellman. Last but definitely not least my greatest dear friend, Odarmis. As to food shortages and bland food, this is a country going through hard times. Want spice bring your own, I’ve never needed to. Cuban resorts are in a different class than other countries. Melia Peninsula Varadero: Terrible ?

Poor cleaning management really rude ....terrible food and drinks... but great stuff except management really really rude...I will never go back....they never clean my room.lots bugs ? and super dirty rooms

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Lovely resort

Architecture ultra modern with clean lines. Rooms were large and comfortable. There is a bit of language barrier with some staff yet but that will take time as it is a new resort not yet fully completed. There is an "adult" only side called The Level however the boundary line between the two sections should be more clearly defined either by trees, more signage or a fence. Some people tried to sunbathe/lounge in an area that was definitely The Level (adult only) side and they were asked to m [... read more]ove by management. There were others (groups) that took over the same area and were allowed to stay after a lengthy discussion and pleading to the one of the management staff......There was no consistency by the management as to who could use and not use certain areas intended for adult only. The buffet area needs to attempt to control the flies that enter the food area -- many flies were seen on the breads and desserts and exposed foods.
