Third time visitor

I love everything about this place, food is good, people at resort are pleasant and accommodating.......and the Cuban people are some of the best people I have ever met. Love going into Holguin and feel safe everywhere.

Beaches are beautiful, food was good, room okay, service poor Drinks were different at ever bar and the staff at the 24 hour staff bar was rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to service people

Amazing!

I was a little picky with the food but overall an amazing trip! The staff and people me and my friends met were life changing! Loved every second of this trip :) My friends and I are 18 and 19, we enjoyed the nightlife aswell as the daytime activities on the resort and off!! Defiantly would recommend this resort to families and friends that want a get a way!

Great Place- returned for the 3rd year

This year we got a great deal to this resort. For what we paid it was a steal. This year we found that the resort had some bad faults. We found that the major swim up bar pool turned green. This was bad because it was closed for 3 days. Missed that pool a lot because that was where they did the water aerobics. The square pool was green and I don't think it was useable at all. Line ups were long if you wanted to go in early. The bars that served food for lunch this year were great. You could go to anyone at lunch and enjoy a great meal. The beach was great. Very clean. The room service was the best. Had a very nice and helpful, pleasant maid.

Property is Old and below average.

The grounds were very nice, rooms were old, out dated, broken plaster, poor beds. The staff were excellent, very friendly. Location was nice, The villa's were the most modern. The service was excellent, everyone wanted to help out,

Fair for the price....

I had a good deal...so for me it was o.k.....rooms were old and the pool at the bungalows stayed green ....beach, hotel very nice...food was good...for the price can not complain....The staff very nice...always wanting to help...I saw some of the villas...look nicer on the beach...not a place for people that drink...that was a non stop drunk for the younger generation....

Large resort

everything was beautifully kept up . clean and litter free. Lots of walking to the different places .We were in the bungalows and the stage was right beside us and the dining room was only a stone throw away also .

Disappointing!

Room not ready on arrival, first room they sent us to had guests staying there already, next 2 were musty smelling- no balcony, rooms not as booked, wanted us to pay extra to upgrade to a villa, ended up in 'barracks' (musty smelling but on main floor so had small patio - couldn't even see ocean from room. Food horrible - all food same temperature -room temperature! Staff pleasant and helpful.

Resort is what you would expect from a 3 star.

We like CA for many reasons. It has an amazing beach right in front of the resort. There are loads of restaurants and bars to choose from. Leaving the resort to travel in the area is totally safe. The market next door is awesome. Those are all great reasons to go. Here are a few things you should know so as not to be disappointed. There are plenty of pools but not all are clean/open all the time. There is a security issue regarding money/belongings theft. We have had a significant amount of mone [... read more]y stolen by maids, with proof the resort would do nothing to help us. We met a couple that had things stolen from their safe in their room too. I say you have to use your own judgement and try to carry all valuables on you at all times. There are many great people that work there but the front of house staff are usually terrible. Customer service is not a strong point.

Absolutely wonderful

Thouroughly enjoyed out stay here - everyone was super nice. Would definitely return here again and have re commended it to a number of people. A lot of things to do and everyone very nice and accommodating.

Outstanding service with smile always.

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) topnotch for the second time for me .It was 20 years since my first trip and could not wait to get back,trip was just as exciting second time around, Again outstanding.

Great Deal......and a surprisingly great vacation!

Great resort with a fantastic beach!! The price was exceptional so our expectations were low...but it was really a great vacation. The staff was warm and friendly, and the setting was wonderful! Will be going back for sure!

Wonderful Experience

Club Amigo Guardalavaca is a beautiful resort! We had a wonderful time - The grounds are being taken care of at all times of the day. The staff was very accommodating making sure we had what we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The entertainment at night was superb!! The food was pretty good. If you like seafood it was always plentiful with a good variety. Having the market right next door was lots of fun - we enjoyed talking to the locals about their wares which by the way were [... read more] truly amazing and wonderfully crafted and so reasonably priced. The rooms were very clean and would love to know their secret on how they get the sheets and towels so sparklingly white!! Would we go back - most definitely!! Our flights were very good and the staff on the planes were very efficient And I must add that the girl that we booked our trip through - sure knows her stuff!! Way to go Brie!!! We will certainly use Trip Central again.! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!

Great Resort for the cost!!!

The dining was good with lots of variety and many multi-cultural restaurants to choose from, very nice pool with swim-up bar, nice beach with beautiful sunsets The grounds are well groomed. Our room had a great view of the ocean. All staff were very friendly and all services were excellent. We will go back again!!!

Best bang for the buck

the whole resort is a little outdated. the room we stayed at was called "THE RUSSIAN BARRACKS" and it wasnt the nicest room. the food at times, wasn't bad but could have been better. i would stay there again if i could get a price of around $500 to $600, but not pay a penny more.....

Fantastic resort!!!

This is our second time at this resort and we would go back again!! The people were as usual wonderful, the food was very good with out choice of three buffets and a snack bar to satisfy everyone. The coffee and piano bar also offerered a chocolate fountain that was a treat to everyone of all ages! The beach was breathtaking and the entertainment amazing. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Beautiful Guardalavaca

We've been to this area and this complex many times. It fairly large in that it's comprises three sections, thus; plenty of restaurants, pools, and entertainment. We love Cuba for the people and being able to meet/visit in their homes is all part of traveling to this hotel. The staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating in all aspects in order to have you enjoy your vacation there.
