Meigas Binniguenda: Binni is the very best

We have just returned from Binniguenda hotel and must say that this is the nicest all round resort we have visited in the few years. It is clean, the staff are extremely friendly, the food is very good, rooms are quite nice and the grounds are beautiful. The beach club is very small but the water is calm and they look after you very well down there. We will be returning to this resort again for sure.

Meigas Binniguenda: Still very good but ...

This hotel continues to offer excellent service, clean rooms, better than average buffet-style food, very good pool and amenities, and excellent evening entertainment. The beach location is also very good. Two problems: a sewer smell in our room (and that of our friends) unless the airconditioning was on; and inadequate signage and lack of enforcement regarding smoking. The evening we arrived, we noticed a cluster of perhaps eight Canadian women smoking next to the the lounge - the only place th [... read more]at had signs indicating smoking was permitted. By next afternoon, the smokers had taken over the prime lounge chairs by the pool and the porch by the entrance. These were heavily addicted chain smokers, lighting up every 10 minutes or so - despite the immediate presence of young Mexican couples with kids ranging from one to perhaps eight years. The Binneguenda needs to install specific "No-smoking" signs and enforce the rules. (NOTE: THE RATINGS BELOW ARE PREDICATED ON THIS!]

Dreams Huatulco: Great resort for both young and old!!

I recently travelled to the Dreams Resort, Huatulco. I was traveling with my brother his wife and my aging parents. My dad is 82 and my mother is 77. They are both deaf and have some mobility issues. The everyone was very helpful from the airport to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and made our trip great. The pools were easily accessible and the staff very attentive when you wanted a drink there was always someone there to bring one! We played volleyball in the pool or on the beach and soaked up the sun. My parents fed the fish on the shore while we snorkelled with them further out! We took a kayak out and paddled around the beautiful bay. The restaurants great very little waiting and no reservations required for the ala carts! The food was great and so was the service. We went on a fishing trip where we saw huge schools of Dolphins, a very memorable sight! Then my brother caught a large Mahi Mahi followed by a few bonito fish. Huatulco is a beautiful place and the Dreams resort is the place to stay!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great Hotel

Really liked this resort, the rooms were spacious & the grounds were absolutely beautiful. A lot of walking but that's a good thing. We do plan to go back to this resort. It's great for family vacations.

Secrets Huatulco: Close to 5 Star but not quite!

This was our second stay at Secrets and the service, food and location are top-notch. However, for the second time in two years the shortage of palapas , umbrellas and shade is a nightmare with guests booking space at 6am on a supposed relaxing holiday. Bottomline-we won't be back until they add shade via more palaces and umbrellas. The 30 minute reservation rule is unforced and impractical since it takes more than 30 minutes to go sailing, eat breakfast or whatever. Having to rush down before sunrise to get a spot is not a holiday!

Secrets Huatulco: Highly recommended resort !

Beautiful resort, fabulous pools, service staff are second to none! One thing to keep in mind is the over use of salt in all the food you serve. I recommend your chief allow the guest to salt their own food to taste. A large part of your guest are over 40 and salt is a big concern. Our sunwing rep. gave us very little info regarding your wonderful facilities. Ex. the wonderful coffee bar (we found it by accident on our 3rd day) , or that you had an activities screen and that menus where availabl [... read more]e to view. (that little service was a very nice touch!!!) When you only have a week, this info is important. If possible a little more shade would be helpful around the activity centre and beach area.

Secrets Huatulco: Great Place

The resort is a short drive from the modern airport. It is located on a private bay with relatively calm waters. The food was fantastic and the decor was tasteful. The staff couldn't have been any nicer.

Secrets Huatulco: Nice spot with great food and service

The Good Grounds, food, staff, drinks The Bad Sand fleas (no see ums?), spotty wifi in rooms (great by pool) The Ugly Trying to get a table for 8 - were refused or had to wait up to 2 hours. For a place that advertises no reservations required this is misleading. When we travel as a group we expect to eat together - it's only 8 people come on man.

Secrets Huatulco: Great Resort

Thoroughly enjoyed the resort during our 2 week stay. Beach and serve were excellent. We have had slightly better food at Secrets in PV but otherwise was a great resort with very attentive staff and a great spa.

Barcelo Huatulco: Simply perfect!

Everything about this resort was perfect! The hotel was beautiful and extremely clean. We did not see any type of insect nor any speck of dust during our stay. The food was delicious and had a different variety every day with so much to choose from. The staff was friendly. The beach was gorgeous. Perfect perfect perfect! Stay here if you want a great vacation !

Park Royal Beach Huatulco: Park Royal Retreat

I loved the location, and the view from our balcony was spectacular. We were on the 10th level. Our room was very nice and the entire resort including our room was spotless, especially the washrooms. I enjoyed the pool on the 7th level. Also, breakfast was really nice in the 7th level restaurant. You could enjoy the wonderful view overlooking the ocean and it was nice watching and listening to the birds during breakfast. It's the coolest time of day to get things done. They have a small beach access and lots of people spent their time right on the beach. I think this allowed people to mix and mingle which was nice with a beach bar and washrooms close by. Did I say the washrooms were spotless? Absolutely! We went to town twice for dinner in the evening. We also went to two different beaches by cab to snorkel, swim and have lunch. The food at the resort was okay. Some food was cold in the pans in the buffett. I found we had breakfast and lunch on the 7th level and dinner at the buffet. During our stay the resort was occupied by a lot of Mexican families. We had a very positive experience meeting and vacationing with Mexican's. They are very family oriented, quiet and very friendly always happy to chat a bit and help us with our spanish. The best part....they didn't smoke! I would definitely come back to this resort because you get good value for the price, the friendly staff, cleanliness and view.

Las Brisas Huatulco: A Piece of Paradise

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The grounds were well groomed and beautiful and I loved the fact that the property was so huge - not tons of people but tons of space. The three amazing beaches offered something for everyone from a huge wave beach to a medium wave one to a calm wading and snorkeling area. The staff were amazing: the front desk, the maid service, the bartenders and waiters to the grounds keepers. The hotel had a doctor on staff, who I unfortunately needed while there. Villablanca Huatulco: Quiet and excellent service - great food!

Villa Blanca is an excellent hotel with great value. Simple, clean, and close to everything. The grounds and pool are very nice and never crowded... Big grocery chain store just 5 minute walk with everything you need - booze - beach stuff - coolers... mama elsa's hamburguesas are very, very good!! Great woman!

Secrets Huatulco: Great area - Great Resort

Stayed for a week just before Christmas. Still going through withdrawals!. If you want a relaxing vacation on a beautuful beach this is the place to go. We were able to go kayaking and sailing the hobie ctas every day as they had enough equipment for all the guests. We spent most days at the quiet side of the beach and never had a problem finding chairs and shade. Ocean could be a bit rough, but was fine if you timed the waves and were carefull. One side of the beach was well protected for a saf [... read more]er swim area. A quieter beach with protected swinn area a short walk. Resort is clean, in great repair, and is well managed. Had great food at all the resturants with the surf and turf at the Oceanna ecxeptionally good. Spent a terrific day on the ocean fishing/snorkling/site seeing with Pilo Vazquez - I will do a seperate revew for that outing.

Meigas Binniguenda: Awesome Resort

This was our first trip to this part of Mexico and the stay at the Binniguenda made the trip so much more enjoyable. This quaint resort was very clean, the food was great...we especially enjoyed the Italian cuisine at the a la carte restaurant. The grounds are very well kept, the staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. This resort is in the Santa Cruz Bay Area and they do provide a shuttle service for the beach, however we also took advantage of walking to all other amenities.

Secrets Huatulco: amazing area

The area that we stayed in was wonderful cant wait to go back weather was perfect. Only complaint and not a real biggie was the wait staff had trouble taking our order not fully understanding what we asked for most often was the drink orders

Barcelo Huatulco: Very good value and a gorgeous beach!

We did get a fantastic all inclusive deal ($957) so I think it was great value for sure. We have been here about 5 yrs before. The first time we did get a renovated room which was very nice. This time we did not so the bathrooms are very tired and in need however we had a gorgeous view out to the pool, and you can't beat the oceanfront set up here. The resort is a more traditional Mexican style and not too big. Lots to see and do. Because of the age, I'd say accomodation is more a 3.5 star with  [... read more]a 4 star food and beveridge. 5 star beach! Great people. The lobby entertainment featured a 5 pc band and two fantastic lead singers. If they had a chance they would beat anyone on "The Voice" Extremely talented. Thank-you to our extraordinary fishing guide Tony Lopez Lopez who makes amazing margaritas, took us to all the spots that the hotel tours do not and gave us a private tour! Ask for him as he really made the day fun and is a true professional. ( new boats and safe) He also made our Christmas very merry by helping us facilitate toys to one of the poorest of the neighbourhoods AND helped us rescue two cats that were in very poor health as he hooked them up to a local vet for treatment and placement. I felt due to the renovations needed, age and quality of drinks that it is all around about a 3.9 star experience however given the price we paid we were very happy! GREAT VALUE!

Secrets Huatulco: Great Resort

Everything was spectacular. I cannot say a bad thing about this resort. Well one thing, second last day of trip we had a major spider problem in our room. Scared the bajeepers out of me!!! I went to front desk and they took care of it immediately. Sprayed twice that day and never saw another spider. Comment to the resort. Spray more often so guests do not have to experience this kind of scare. Very pleased that they took care of it right away. Top notch resort.

Secrets Huatulco: A Must Visit

My wife and I just returned from our second stay at the dreams hualtulco. We had another amazing stay. Great food, excellent hospitality and breath taking views. Lots to do in the beautiful little town. I highly recommend a visit.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great family atmosphere resort...

Really enjoyed the fact this resort is not huge. Design lay out is very good , so walking distances to the beach, dining,and pool are not more than a couple of minutes. Nice balcony size for the morning coffee and sunrise, while serenaded by ocean waves and the birds around the pool area . Really enjoyed watching the kiddies pool area with the fountain and water slides. Perfect for a grand kid holiday. Fishing and snorkling trips are waiting at the beach.
