Paradisus Punta Cana: 25th Anniversary Trip

Everything was as advertised. Large, beautiful resort is well maintained. Service was great. Food was good too. Rooms were clean. The people here are very pleasant. Large beach area. Pool area is also very large. This resort never feels crowded. We would definitely live to return to this resort.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Our 3rd time here in the last year - not impressed this time

Some staff were rude, headphones we left in our room when we checked out - weren't returned to the lost and found, pools were used by local children who were there for a track meet with no supervision. Not impressed!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Below Average Service

This was our second time going to the Melia Resort in 3 months. We first visited the resort in February 2017 with a large group of friends. At this time, we were very pleased with the resort, grounds, food and our room. We ended up going back just this past week with our friends and we both brought our children. We wanted to share our experience with them. This was the first time we had taken a family vacation in over 10 years. While the food and resort itself was still good, we had an i [... read more]ssue with a cockroach in my son's room and after speaking to the front desk about this, I was assured they would investigate and advise of what they would do to compensate for this inconvenience. I had to keep going down to the front desk to find out what was going on with the situation. I was advised they removed the cockroach but the Maintenance Manager was always in a meeting or busy with a customer and could not talk to me. We were there 4 days and the trip cost us over $7800 plus the incidentals we required to take this trip. Needles to say, not getting a call or the opportunity to speak with the manager and thus be compensated for this did not sit well with me or my family. My family has expressed disdain in going back to this resort. Not a good first impression to my children. Also, two of the boys with us were just sitting at the Adult pool listening to music, not doing anything and were asked to leave the area. While I appreciate this is an adult pool, there wasn't any events going on at the time and no music was even playing. It was near the end of the day and there wasn't a lot of people around. Then, not even an hour later, I personally saw the Lifeguard take a small child from the family pool who was unattended to the Adult pool where his parents were. I would think if children aren't allowed at the adult pool, it should be consistent for all children. The two boys asked to leave were 15 years of age, not 5 as the little boy escorted by the Lifeguard. I am still hoping someone will not just read this, but respond and perhaps rectify this. I am not happy at all that we were not considered important enough to be compensated, especially when we were just there in February for a week. I will look at other resorts for future family vacations, which is a sin because we did enjoy the Melia before this trip.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Far from amazing hotel

Took 5.5 hours to get our room. Reported phone problem and it took 5 days to fix. Found if you didn't tip all the time service declined. Got sick from water Wednesday and lost 35 pounds-will take from 7 - 12 days to recover. Tried to get room made up in AM so I could sleep-finally got towels from cupboard and left dirty ones and posted do no disturbe - maid knocked on door 2 hours later. Kids got foot and mouth. Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Good

Rooms clean, beach and pools good, good food, pool bar service slow unless you give tips, I like to tip for good service not to get it! Nice walkable beach. New casino next door if you like that, very nice high end building.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful Getaway

Easy 20 min. bus ride to resort. Luggage drop was not directed very well on arrival. No direction was given getting off the bus. Book close to the water and restaurants for shorter walking. Pool area not near the water so choose which one you like better - map is also not to scale. Regular running shuttles were great but some are running on Diesel which was a HUGE TURN OFF. Be ready to be hounded by beach sellers even though they are to remain only on the beach I was told, a few wandered around you 2 rows back which can wear on you by day 5. Several real healthy juices for breakfast but limited juices at the bar was odd. They promote a healthy approach to the bar menu which lacked real juices. Great walking beach/ friendly staff at the pool / beach bars. $1500 in promised spending bonuses on pampering services, turned out to be a reward for viewing timeshares.. Surprise! And then it's not applied to not all the overpriced services and only covers part so you are buying anything you choose at reg. price. Felt like a scam. Check in said talk to your lobby travel rep and he said (AirTransat rep) he couldn't discuss it? We had to arrange a meeting to get it? Oh - a timeshare presentation. Aha moment. Very disappointing. Felt like a scam - poorly represented. Not all restaurants were equal so ask around what most liked more so you make the most of your dinners. Bad experience at THE GRILL. Ordered ribs and my dinner came as a slab of meat on one side no bones and the flip side was solid white fat and gristle - I was shocked. The phone system had 5 star features but ours worked for the first day. Bad line. Housekeeping was always after 4/5pm which was inconvenient and they always scented our room as we noticed after 3 days a slight septic odor. Curtain off track at the end and paint splatters on the wall art. I think our room was next in line for a renovation. Frosting patches peeled off the shower glass/ soap build up and grungy hardware attaching at the bottom. Great TV with lots of channels. CNN / NHL / MBA playoffs and The Voice... I pointed out to staff twice that 2 different washrooms had plumbing problems so the attention to some details are not being managed. A lot of staff always on their cell phones too... The main beach restaurant and bar was closed for renovation after being told how nice it was by our travel agent. Guess they don't pass that along for fear of not booking? DONT BUY CIGARS ON THE BEACH. Locals say the boxes are knock offs and they use 2,nd grade leaf and some banana leaf filler... on the flip side, 1 week of great weather can over look a lot!!!

Melia Braco Village: Amazing Resort

This was our first time in Jamaica. We have no complaints after spending a week at the Melia Braco Village. The resort was amazing. Clean rooms, friendly staff, we used the Buffet for breakfast and lunch and were never disappointed they changed up some of the dishes on a daily basis. The 4 restaurants we tried in the evenings were really good food too - did not need to reserve, got seated straight away and friendly staff. Entertainment every night. Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful Grounds and Beach

Had a wonderful time at Paradisus Punta Cana the rooms were good, the beach was amazing lots of sun beds and shade. The food and drinks were also great at this resort, the grounds were beautiful as well ,always a good day when you can wake up in Paradise.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Great place to stay for all eleven of us!

My husband and I,and our adult kids, recently stayed at the Melia Nassau Resort. Also along for the vacation was my brother-in-law, his wife and nine year-old daughter ( eleven of us in all). Every one of us had a fantastic time! The resort has beautiful grounds with three pools, two hot-tubs and lovely fountains and flowers. Everything was nice and clean, including all six rooms. The staff were all very kind and accommodating and provided us with everything we needed. Entertainment was gr [... read more]eat! A show every night with good dancers and fantastic singers. After that was a DJ for the partiers. Food was plentiful and very, very good. Even when all eleven of us sat down together. We will definitely be returning!

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: AMAZING!!!!

This resort was great. It was clean, the food was excellent and service great. The only complaint was the long line for checkins when arriving. If you want anything extra a small tip and a note and they will leave more than enough

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: Very very nice

The hotel grounds were so beautiful and there was lots to explore. The food was quite good, both a la carte as well as the buffets! We stayed at the reserve which had huge rooms. The only problem about the room in my opinion was the light switches made no sense. Sounds kind of silly but there were probably 25 light switches in a 900 sqf room with 2 master switches and it was just super confusing. Beach area was beautiful, lots of waves & seating. Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Truly an amazing resort.

We loved the resort so much that we went last year and again this year. The Melia has a huge property and the beach is beautiful. We stayed at The Level both times we went and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff that we got to know went out of their way to make our experience a memorable one.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Disappointed!!

This resort has the potential to be a true 5 star,however due to the poor restaurant reservation system and building maintenance,this distinction can not apply!! Also when i arrived the staff had no idea what Emerald Club was about,they said they never heard of it. No Separate check in,No welcome gift,No bottle of rum,No welcome basket with snacks and no turn down service!!

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Amazing Resort!

This resort is amazing!!! The food is fantastic, best I've ever had at a resort. The buffet was so good, we didn't even eat at the restaurants. The staff here are so attentive and happy, they always wanted to help. I travelled with my 1 1/2 year old son and this resort is perfect for families with young children! The kids club is great, lots for my little guy to do. The staff were so good with him, even in the restaurants! The room was really nice! We had the master suite and it was perfect for  [... read more]our child, as the bathroom was in a room separate to the main bathroom, so we were able to make this his room with the crib the hotel provided. I would go to this resort again and again, I highly recommend it for parents looking for a resort that is both luxurious and child friendly!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful

I have been to many resorts in the Caribbean and the Melia caribe tropical in punta cana absolutely took the cake for the best resort i have ever been too. Our room was ready when we got there and it was clean, fridge stocked and AC working well. location was close to the beach, pool and grill. resort was always clean and well kept. staff friendly and available. music always playing and overall very good vibes. I cannot recommend this resort enough, will be returning very soon!!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Enjoyable

Check in was extremely slow. Food was wonderful. Staff was friendly. Kids had a blast & we would happily return for another holiday. The grounds were very well kept and clean beach. It would have been nice to have a bank machine that gave US funds, not just pesos.

The Level at Melia Caribe: Great trip

We stayed in the adults only The Level. It felt like a little resort in a big resort. The Level restaurants are great. The staff very friendly. Not usually hard to fin a chair at beach however people still feel the need to save one even if they don't use it at all. Definitely would return.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Wow!

We're forever spoiled. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special (thank you, Sergio at the front desk). From Eduardo and Carlos who served us tirelessly on the beach to Luis at The Grill whose menu suggestions led to a few of the best meals we've ever had, this resort pulls out all the stops. Nightly entertainment was top notch. Be mindful, the clientele is young and it can get a bit loud at the pool, and they host are a ton of weddings which bring their own brand of party hoopla,  [... read more]so if you're retired and are looking for a very quiet getaway, this is probably not the place for you.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful resort and excellent service

You must do the Royal Service. It met all of our expectations. The suite was beautiful, our butler Alex was very accommodating and helpful. My only suggestion is to verify if the transportation to and from the resort is private versus a shuttle bus.

Melia Braco Village: Wonderful resort!

The resort was breathtakingly beautiful, clean and with wonderful staff who made our vacation very memorable and personal. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared with wonderful presentation. Our room was pretty, clean and with a gorgeous garden view. The entertainment was captivating and exciting. I enjoyed Melia Bravo Village very much...and will return one day.
