Krystal Puerto Vallarta: Best for Families

Definitely no more than a 3 star. A little old, a little tired, but a great beach. The accommodations are comfortable for sleeping and the view from building 9 Oceanside is amazing. The food leaves a lot to be desired...same every meal and they need a new chef. Pasta and rice are mushy, vegetables are crunchy and they don't have bacon or sausage, etc. at breakfast. We ate off the resort a lot since the bus was .50 cents to get to old town or other places fairly quickly. Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Another wonderful time at the Hyatt Ziva!

Just back from 10 day vacation - the 2nd time at this resort. It has a great location - on the beach but can still walk into town. San Jose is such a cute little place with funky shops and some nice restaurants. The best part of this hotel is their staff. The staff are super nice and are always happy to help. Most of the rooms in the hotel have an ocean view. Although the ocean isn't really swimmable, its long and lovely to walk on. There's lots of pools with one specifically for kid's, a [... read more] couple of family pools (although one isn't heated) and an adults pool which is where we spent most of our time. It was pretty busy when we arrived (just after New Years) so one had to get up early in order to save a chair. That lasted for about a week and then things got back to normal. The hotel could stand to do some updating on their rooms. Although comfortable and always clean, they are starting to get outdated. They have the best breakfast buffet of all of the resorts we've visited however, the rest of the meals were really just average (sometimes less), including the a la carte restaurants. Wouldn't have taken much for them to tweak the meals to make them more of a 5 star rating.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Grand Bahia Principe - Mayan Riviera

The resort was beautiful, clean and very well maintained with lots of activities to keep everyone busy. Food at the buffet restaurant was mediocre and very repetitive. As for the a la carte restaurants, it was average except for Frutos del Mar seafood restaurant (the food offering there was extensive and well prepared). Overall, the service staff was friendly and accommodating. The only sour note on our vacation was that we were charged $25 USD per person by Air Canada Vacation for a shoppin [... read more]g tour to Playa del Carmen (only to find out a couple of days later that the same tour was FREE offered through the hotel). We filed a complaint with Air Canada Vacation at Grand Bahia Principe Coba and they denied our claim. We will NEVER book anything through Air Canada Vacations again!

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: So so Resort

This hotel needs a major update. The location is great. Close to some amazing restaurants. The pool and chairs need to be cleaner and updated. Please update your entertainment programs.The sound system is incredibly loud and play the same music over and over😩

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Amazing resort

The resort was beautiful, clean and well kept. It was the best resort we've ever stayed at. A great place for all ages. Dining rooms and restaurants were very impressive. The staff was very professional. Absolutely loved our ocean front room. I felt comfortable and safe.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Not for everyone

It is a very nice very clean hotel with amazing staff, they are the best and very good to great food. The standard rooms are the smallest I have ever seen. The terrace room we upgraded to is more like a typical room you would expect to get. Very nice and updated. The building is set designed in a way that more than half the rooms have a poor to very poor view. It is not ocean front. The beach is very small, the size of a tennis court at the mouth of the lagoon, marina. No turquoise water or  [... read more]waves. More like a murky lake. The pool is very nice. We like the ocean so it wasn’t for us.

Allegro Cozumel: Second time just as good

Second time at allegro in 3 years. Not much has changed. Staff works really hard. Meals were ok. Dinner buffet needs work but breakfast and lunch we're good. The shows at night were awesome. Very entertaining

Allegro Cozumel: Great time at the Allegro Cozumel!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Allegro in Cozumel. The food was excellent at the buffet with lots of variety for breakfast and supper. The a la carte restaurants were amazing, especially the Mexican and Asian options. The beach was nice - white sand and blue water. We were able to do a bit of snorkeling right in front of the resort. However, if you really enjoy snorkeling, you will want to book a tour. We really appreciated the jacuzzi by the beach and would often sit in there to watch the su [... read more]nset over the water. The entertainment staff did a great job organizing various games and activities that we had fun participating in. We really enjoyed the night time shows, particularly the circus show and the break dancing. The karaoke night was also a lot of fun. Our room was nice and very clean. The only setback of the room was that because of the grass roofs, there is not very much noise separation and we could easily hear what was happening outside our room. Overall, we had a wonderful time at this resort and would definitely go back again and recommend to others.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Quaint and Relaxing

Firstly, the transfer to the resort was prompt and smooth. There was no heavy push to sell. Yahoo! We were warmly welcomed by the resorts bell hops and front counter staff. The overview given, of the amenities, was both clear and helpful. Our room was simply appointed but clean. A lightbulb was burnt out, over the washstand and our toilet loved to continue to run. ( It seemed strange to me that that would not have been dealt with! In such an arid area as this) However, a simple flick of the pl [... read more]unger would end the wasting of precious agua. Room service was excellent! The maids greeted us warmly and kept the room tidy and spotless. The food at the resort was good. The buffet offered much choice, especially at breakfast. That is when we ate. It was somewhat of a necessity to dine there early, as it was where you had to make reservations for dining at the sole a la carte venue. The waiters, at all of the locations were friendly and their service was outstanding. Two of the standouts for us were; Sotchitl and Dolce. These two went out of their ways to make your dining experience pleasurable. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the entertainment staff. The shows were put on by a minimal crew. The dancers were excellent, but the announcer was brash and repetitive, as were the pools entertainment staff. The same routines were boisterously blared out day after day. The music was annoyingly loud as were the staff’s comments shouted out. Not impressed! The resort’s beachfront was kept clean. Although the water was not swim able, due to dangerous undertows, the beach offered miles of walking pleasure. I witnessed a baby turtle’s struggle to get to the water’s edge and several marine displays. We were given shows by: whales , dolphins and sea lions. Frigate birds and pelicans dove into schools of bait fish. Osprey , egrets and gulls frequented the nearby estuary. At the boca ,or mouth , of the estuary local fishermen cast their nets, with great success! They caught several bait fish and quite a few larger fish. The smallest of these were offered up to people casting nearby. We rode the “chicken buses” into both nearby San Jose and the further Cabos San Lucas. Local inhabitants were accommodating, helpful and friendly. San Jose was only a 20 minute walk from the resort. The town is filled with high end art shops and good eateries. The pace here was more laid back than at the frenetic Cabo. Cabo was a typical hawkers paradise. It seemed that everyone there was on the make. The hard sell there was prevalent. Not my style! All in all, we had a relaxing , rejuvenating stay at a very reasonable price.

Royal Solaris: Royal Solaris

I thoroughly enjoyed this resort. The staff are so hospitable and courteous. The food was very good and I had all types of delicious drinks. There are elevators so no need to climb a lot of stairs. You aren’t able to swim in the ocean here because of dangerous undertows, but the pools are great. It was nice to have free wifi in my room and in th3 lobby as well.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort to stay at!

We booked this resort with privilege and had an amazing time. Our butler Guillermo took care of everything for us and really made our trip extra special. So many pools and bars and restaurants. Will be back

Royal Solaris: Fantastic Vacation

We stayed at this resort for 7 days. The staff were fantastic went out of their way to make sure you were happy. The food was great and the rooms were clean. I would highly recommend this resort. Omar was so helpful, caring and informative. The kids club guys were fantastic as well.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: Everything was just perfect!

Wow! What a great resort! We had high expectations travelling to Hotel Xcaret, as it came recommended by two families we know, but we were still blown away by how beautiful this resort is, how amazing the food was and how much fun we had with our two kids! We look forward to returning here.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Wonderful Staff and Service!

This hotel is perfect for someone who just wants to relax and take it easy in a one-stop, intimate setting. The resort is very contained, 3 a la carte restaurants surround a lovely pool area, and the buffet restaurant looks out over the ocean. The buffet was delicious (omelette bar every morning was my personal favourite) and the staff was extremely friendly, fast and gracious. If you love to sit in the sun poolside, this resort is perfect. The resort keeps you entertained too. They would host a bingo game every day at 1pm by the pool, and every night the hotel had a show - circus, magician, Jersey Boys - it was great. I would recommend this to any family or couple or friend group looking to relax. The atmosphere is a perfect mix between fun and relaxing. Final note - I had a massage while I was there and it was outstanding. Some hotel massages can be extremely average, and this one felt professional and upscale.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great vacation

The food was delicious for the most part, particularly the buffet, Italian, and Hibachi. No shortage of food, there are snack bars everywhere and it's all great! The grounds were very well kept. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and you can tell they're hard-working. Loved the cappuccinos and lattes. The pool was great - spent a lot of time there. The room was perfectly cleaned every day. Loved their environmental endeavours - shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/handsoap/lotion were all [... read more] refillable containers rather than small throw-away squeeze bottles, and filtered water was available on each floor to put in glass bottles, rather than using lots of plastic bottles. AC worked great in the room. Wifi works everywhere outside, even at the pool - a couple dead zones here and there (eg. by the cafe) but not a concern. Good variety of television channels. Good size safe in the room. I would suggest adding bins outside the hotel rooms for plates/cups to go in. Overall we had a great trip and definitely would like to return to this resort again.

Occidental Costa Cancun: An amazing experience and resort! A++++

We loved the Occidental Costa Cancun for many reasons. The service was incredible (room, restaurants, front desk, bartenders - you name it!). We were impressed with how clean the resort was at all times. The food (buffet and al la carte restaurants) were all fantastic. A great location on the Cancun hotel strip - easy to catch a cab or a bus into the downtown core. All around, we loved our experience and we're very sad to head home. 10/10!!!

Riu Flamingos: Great resort perfect for families

Was a great place to stay , not one issue with this resort . Would definitely recommend this place for people with kids. Staff was great friendly and service was above average. Food was fantastic choices were abundant

Moon Palace Cancun: Fantastic family resort

We stayed at the Grand at Moon Palace. Highly recommend this resort for families with children. The resort is huge with various activities for kids of all ages. The rooms were amazing & the food was fantastic for an AI resort. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Barcelo Maya Palace: excellent resort

this is a huge complex which now contains 6 hotels of which the Palace is the second newest. It is very well maintained and the food is good to very good. The buffet restaurants offer lots of choice for even the most selective or discerning palates. The specialty restaurants (Brazilian, French etc) are ok but not high end. The swimming pools are first class as are the facilities for the kids of all ages. We have been to this group of hotels many times.
