Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Meh~

Excellent layout, beautiful beach, dilapidated hotel unfortunately with cold jacuzzis, mediocre food & drinks, busted elevators and light fixtures,most of the public bathrooms closed or had no soap, broken doors, slow service, tip motivated, line ups for everything, no lobster, no banana chips. Came home with gift of dysentery. Nightly entertainment was Cuban typical. Only go if the price is right. I've had better in Cuba. Starfish Jibacoa: we keep going back

We love this place. Sitting on the porch of our cosy and spotlessly clean room looking out at the ocean across the beautiful grounds we are in paradise.Great staff, two pools and a coral reef to explore are an added bonus. An hour to Havana allows an easy day trip.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Just Ok

Resort is dated. They are upgrading rooms - make sure you request one of those. Staff seem like they don't want to be there - not helpful. Food is below average, even for Cuba. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Spend a few extra dollars

Punta Peninsula Varadero: My first time in Cuba

This was my first time in Cuba and the first time I did a 2-week All Inclusive. The beach was magnificent. The grounds were very well maintained. The pools were great and the rooms were fairly standard for a resort, but could use some updating. My room still had an old CRT Television. The Buffet was fairly standard for All Inclusive resorts. The snack bar was marginal with items often not available (for example one day they didn't have any bread). They were often out of ingredients  [... read more]for some of the drinks on the menu. The coffee bar was excellent, the nightly entertainment was great. Most of the staff were great, but ran into a few obviously having a bad day. They had an issue with laundry and didn't have clean beach towels for many days several times. The internet wasn't great, but you could cross the street to the Marina to get a better signal. Overall a great vacation. Every All Inclusive Resorts have pros and cons.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Iberostar Laguana Azul

After staying at Riu resorts we were expecting the Iberostar Laguana Azul to be at least equal in quality & service. We were extremely disappointed in the whole experience from waiting 4 hours at check-in and then having to change rooms because the first room did not have a working toilet, to the room we finally stayed in where the patio door did not lock, the bar fridge was all rusted on outside & beverage supply was never replenished for the week we were there. Maids do not damp mop floors i [... read more]n the rooms, we had to ask for facecloths, only receive 1 bar of soap every 3 days, elevators not working & food in the buffets always cold unless you lined up for an excessive amount of time to have items personally cooked. Many plates in the buffet area are chipped and cracked & staff have not been instructed on how to properly set up a table - every time we went, the silverware was different, there were no designated wait staff for each section so patrons received inadequate service. We realized we were going to Cuba where the people are all very friendly and helpful but did at least expect a higher level of service being an international chain such as Iberostar. In our opinion, this hotel does not warrant a 5 star rating but maybe a 2.5 - there are many repairs and upgrades that need to be made.

Resonance Blu Varadero: 1000% WOULD GO BACK!! (BEST RESORT!!)

So this was my 1st time going to cuba and honestly it was the best time ever! All the reviews on here were talking so negatively about the place and they were all wrong. People need to be reminded that they do not have the same things we have. The only down side was the wifi but other then that it was amazing. Beautiful resort and very friendly people too.

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

Just got back from this resort 5 days ago.. had a great time.. stayed in building 2.. this building and 3,4,5 would be your best picks or oceanffonts of course.. the bars are all goid as well.. nestor is fantastic at entertaining.. buffet had great variety but food is cold by the time you sit to eat.. air conditioner maybe the cause as it is very high.. pools are great.. if you do have an issue tho you should see your vacation rep.. ours was kenia.. great lady!!!.. all in all great resort.. woul [... read more]d defintely return.. oh bring face cloths!!..

Grand Memories Varadero: Resort is run down

13 of us went to his resort last week, we had all been there 5 years ago but noticed a big difference this time. It was much dirtier this time around, the pools and decks were really dirty. You never saw anyone cleaning the pools aside from picking up garbage which by the end of the day was terrible(which is also the fault of vacationers). I really liked the staff but you could tell the entire place was suffering. I didn't have any trouble with the food, I can always find something in a buffet and their omelets were delicious. My kids each either had a run in with diarrhea or throwing up towards the end of the vacation, I suspect it was from drinking too much of the pool water. I really did like the staff but I won't be returning. I would rank this as more like a 2.5-3 star. I hope this helps some potential vacationers.

Palma Real: Great time away!!!

The hotel is under repair in certain areas. However the room my husband and I stayed in was very clean and free of mold and bugs :) The staff were very friendly and did what they could to accommodate guests. The towels and bed sheets are not changed however the rooms were well cleaned. Towels provided for pool/beach are rare and the beach is off resort just a 2 min walk...l Bars were busy and the one in building 4 is the best service least ppl but no cervesa :( Resort is close to all the s [... read more]hopping and tourist desires needed including tattoo shops, Beatles bar and a beautiful park. All in we had a blast and were not expecting a 5 star resort.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort!

Everything about the resort was wonderful....everyone there was so nice. Would go back in a minute!! Beach was beautiful, service was awesome and food was good! Rooms may need a bit of updating but other than that, perfect vacation!

Paradisus Varadero: Absolutely amazing

This Resort is like being in Paradise. The pool and Beach are absolutely beautiful. The food in the restaurants are very good. I would definitely go back to this Resort again. We have been to several resorts in Cuba and this one beats them all.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Resort

The hotel was fine although some areas of the resort looked a little run down , entertainment was great, food at the buffet was just ok , Japanese restaurant was spectacular , service at the bars seemed extremely slow , beach was beautiful,

Playa Vista Azul: Good

Grounds, pools, rooms lovely. Food decent.Ala carte ...could not ever get into Italian, Caribbean a la carte ,food and staff equally terrible. Rude staff, food awful,service terrible. Gourmet a la carte was awesome, food, service and staff were amazing. Had dinner there five times.

Hotel Bella Costa: Good service, but very tired resort

We stayed at the Bella Costa resort for 4 nights, having bought an affordable last minute deal. The hotel was very busy, so it was well staffed and service was good. Finding a seat at the buffet, though, was not always easy. Food and drinks were pretty standard, there wasn't too much variety. It was fine for 4 days, but you may get pretty tired of the menu if staying for a week. The hotel itself is very old, they do their best to maintain it, but it still shows. This is our fourth time in Cuba, so for the price we paid we knew exactly what we were getting, and were willing to look past it all for a couple of days on the beach. If you are looking for a resort with comfortable and beautiful accommodations, delicious food and crisp towels, I would not recommend this place.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Its amazing resort

Its need à Little beat repair for the bathroom in the lobby, needs Some music at the beach but for the service at the réception, buffet, bar its very good all overall i recommand this resort the staff Was amazing and help full

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: A resort you can call home

My husband and I recently stayed at the resort and enjoyed every day of it. The service and the the people are amazing! We highly recommend this resort for anyone, old and young. We will definitely be coming back here again!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Mostly wonderful

Hello, I hope you don't take this honest review personal, I realize the 5 star accommodations aren't what we are used to in Canada, but I just want to point out a few concerns. First of all the air conditioner wasn't working, after 2 days I mentioned it to the front desk 3 times and eventually was moved to another room. The first room had ants, no screens on the patio door the fan was not adjustable and was barely moving. The lamps were not attached to the wall, but was hanging on with wires s [... read more]howing. However we had an very nice lady who did a fantastic job with our room upkeep. We requested a crib because we were traveling with an infant and were given one, however it was not up to standard! To be honest it was disgusting. The white rails were not white and the mattress was an old sponge with stains I cannot begin to describe. In my opinion, very unsanitary for anyone to sleep in let alone an infant, it looked like it had never been washed. Needless to say we did not use it. On a more positive note, the hotel itself was outstanding. Very beautiful, well kept & the staff we really friendly. Food was very tasty & plentiful as well as the variety of drinks offered. We didn't get to enjoy any night time shows or entertainment because we were in our room fairly early with the baby, but other guests mentioned they had fun. I definitely would come back to this hotel if the accommodations we a little cleaner and was given the opportunity. Please understand, I'm not upset, but at your request was very honest about my experience.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Awesome resort

Loved it...our second time there and we will definitely go back. We were there from April 8 for 5 days. When we arrived on Saturday, they had the Cuban Day...lots of lovely food, music, dancing and overall a good vibe and lots of fun. The room was lovely; it was cleaned very well every day and the bar fridge was filled every day. Loved the coffee maker in the room. The food was excellent - we just ate at the buffet; the service there was also very good....quick service which made for no line ups [... read more]. The water stations they have on the way to the beach and on the beach is something new from last time, but really appreciated. The freshly squeezed sugar cane juice was also a nice treat as well as the ice cream at the ice cream shop. The service from everyone we encountered was excellent - people are friendly and very helpful. The lobby bar was frequented....service was awesome there too. The beach is wide and clean; there were enough loungers ..lots of shade if needed. Overall an excellent experience.

Memories Jibacoa: Great resort

The grounds are well kept and lots of greenery. The resort staff are very friendly and always accommodating. We especially like the balcony for dining just outside the buffet area. The food is good, perhaps a bit more selection for main dishes. The snorkling is phenomenal, when there is no red flag. Beach is good, with lots of new polapas. The rooms are a little dated, but clean. We especially like that it is mainly an over 50's crowd, much quieter and without all the partying.

Nice hotel, small easy to get around rooms basic but clean. Good a la carts, main buffet not so much. Food not always hot, shortages, one person trying to run two stations. Great pool area, really nice beach. Lots of fish to see at the beach or swim out a bit and some really nice deep coral areas.
